AI Technical Summary
Existing harvesting devices, such as mergers or pickup rakes, face instability issues when transitioning between working and transport positions, particularly on uneven or sloping surfaces, due to the conventional folding mechanisms which can lead to tipping or inadequate support.
The harvesting device employs displaceable cross members that move vertically and then horizontally to achieve an intermediate position, with the receiving elements and cross conveyor devices being supported by jockey wheels for enhanced stability, allowing for a more stable transition by adjusting their angle and position to prevent tipping.
This configuration improves the stability and safety of the harvesting device during transfer between working and transport positions, especially on challenging ground conditions, by allowing controlled and balanced movement of the receiving elements and conveyor devices.
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a harvesting device, namely a merger or pickup rake, according to the preamble of claim 1.
[0002] A merger with the generic features is known from US 2015 / 0327428 A1.
[0003] EP 2 979 529 B1 discloses a harvesting device designed as a merger. Mergers are also referred to as pickup rakes. According to this prior art, the harvesting device designed as a merger has a support frame and a chassis. Furthermore, the harvesting device designed as a merger has pickup elements for picking up the harvested crop, as well as cross conveyor devices designed as belt conveyors for transversely conveying the picked-up crop. The support frame has a longitudinal beam and cross beams, with the pickup elements and cross conveyor devices being mounted on the cross beams.
[0004] In order to transfer the harvesting device known from EP 2 979 529 B1, which is designed as a merger, between a working position and a transport position, the receiving elements and cross conveyors are first folded upwards from their working position about a horizontal axis, with the upwardly folded receiving elements and cross conveyors then being folded forwards about a vertical axis. According to EP 2 979 529 B1, it is therefore mandatory to first fold the receiving elements and cross conveyors upwards about a horizontal axis extending in the transverse direction and then forwards about a vertical axis.
[0005] Based on this, the present invention is based on the object of creating a novel harvesting device designed as a merger or pickup rake. This object is achieved by a harvesting device according to claim 1.
[0006] According to the invention, a displaceable cross member arranged on a first side of the longitudinal member, receiving the respective receiving member and the respective cross conveyor device, can be displaced from a working position about an axis extending in the vertical direction relative to a further displaceable cross member into an intermediate position and from this intermediate position with the further displaceable cross member about an axis extending in the horizontal longitudinal direction relative to a fixed cross member acting on the longitudinal member into a transport position.Furthermore, a displaceable cross member arranged on a second side of the longitudinal member, which receives the respective receiving element and the respective cross conveyor device, can be displaced from a working position about a further axis extending in the vertical direction relative to a further displaceable cross member into an intermediate position and from this intermediate position with the further displaceable cross member about a further axis extending in the horizontal longitudinal direction relative to a further fixed cross member acting on the longitudinal member into a transport position. In the harvesting device according to the invention, the receiving elements and cross conveyor devices can be displaced from their working position, first backwards about the respective axis extending in the vertical direction and then upwards from this intermediate position about the respective axis extending in the horizontal longitudinal direction. This can improve the stability of the harvesting device when transferring between the working position and the transport position.
[0007] According to an advantageous development, the displaceable cross member arranged on the first side of the longitudinal member, which accommodates the respective receiving element and the respective cross conveyor device, can be displaced from the working position around the axis extending in the vertical direction in a first direction by 90°±5° backwards into the intermediate position. The displaceable cross member arranged on the second side of the longitudinal member, which accommodates the respective receiving element and the respective cross conveyor device, can be displaced from the working position around the axis extending in the vertical direction in a second direction opposite to the first direction by 90°±5° backwards into the intermediate position.
[0008] The rearward displacement of the receiving elements and the cross conveyor devices around the respective axis extending in the vertical direction into the respective intermediate position is particularly preferred for stability reasons.
[0009] According to an advantageous development, the displaceable cross member arranged on the first side of the longitudinal member, which receives the respective receiving element and the respective cross conveyor device, can be displaced from the intermediate position with the respective further displaceable cross member about the axis extending in the horizontal longitudinal direction in a first direction by 90°±5° upwards into the transport position. The displaceable cross member arranged on the second side of the longitudinal member, which receives the respective receiving element and the respective cross conveyor device, can be displaced from the intermediate position with the respective further displaceable cross member about the axis extending in the horizontal longitudinal direction in a second direction opposite to the first direction by 90°±5° upwards into the transport position.
[0010] The subsequent relocation of the receiving elements and cross conveyor devices from the intermediate position into the transport position around the axis extending in the horizontal longitudinal direction is also preferred for stability reasons.
[0011] According to an advantageous further development, the respective pickup element is supported on a surface by means of feeler wheels during transfer between the working position and the intermediate position. This further improves the stability of the harvesting device during transfer between the working position and the transport position.
[0012] Preferred developments of the invention will become apparent from the dependent claims and the following description. Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail with reference to the drawings, without being limited thereto.

[0014] The invention relates to a harvesting device designed as a merger. Such a harvesting device is also referred to as a pickup rake.
[0015] The harvesting device 10 has a supporting frame 11 with a longitudinal beam 12 and cross beams 13, 14, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29.
[0016] The harvesting device 10 can be coupled to a towing vehicle (not shown) via the longitudinal member 12, namely a coupling device 15 formed at the front end of the longitudinal member 12, in order to be pulled by the towing vehicle along a subsoil to be worked. The longitudinal member 12 extends in the pulling direction or harvesting direction.
[0017] In the working position of the harvesting device 10, the cross members 13, 14, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 extend transversely or perpendicularly to the longitudinal member 12.
[0018] First cross members 28, 29 engage firmly with the longitudinal member 12.
[0019] Second cross members 26, 27 engage the first cross members 28, 29 and are displaceable relative to the first cross members 28, 29 about horizontal axes 30 extending in the longitudinal direction.
[0020] Third cross members 24, 25 and fourth cross members 13, 14 are jointly displaceable relative to the second cross members 26, 27 about vertical axes 31 extending in the vertical direction. The third cross members 24, 25 engage the second cross members 26, 27, and the fourth cross members 13, 14 engage the third cross members 24, 25.
[0021] The harvesting device 10 also has a chassis 16 with wheels 17. The chassis 16 is also referred to as the main chassis. The wheels 17 of the chassis 16 support the harvesting device 10, designed as a merger, on the surface to be worked or driven over, both in a working position and in a transport position.
[0022] The harvesting device 10 also has receiving elements 18 and cross conveyor devices 19.
[0023] The receiving elements 18 are designed as so-called pickups and serve to pick up crops from the ground to be worked. On a first side of the longitudinal member 12, a first receiving element 18 and a first transverse conveyor device 19 are mounted on the respective fourth cross member 13. On a second side of the longitudinal member 12, a second receiving element 18 and a second transverse conveyor device 19 are mounted on the respective fourth cross member 14.
[0024] The pickup elements 18 have pickup tines 20, which are driven around a transversely extending axis to pick up the harvested crop from the ground. In the working position of the harvesting device 10, each of the pickup elements 18 rests on the ground to be worked via feeler wheels 21. In a transport position, the feeler wheels 21 are raised above the ground to be worked.
[0025] As already explained, the harvesting device 10 has, in addition to the receiving elements 18, the transverse conveyor devices 19. The transverse conveyor devices 19 are designed as belt conveyors, wherein the crop picked up from the ground to be worked via the receiving elements 18 can be transported via the transverse conveyor devices 19 in a transverse conveying direction extending transversely or perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction.
[0026] On the first side of the longitudinal beam 12, a first transverse conveyor device 19 is received together with the respective receiving device 18 on the respective fourth cross beam 13. On the second side of the longitudinal beam 12, a second transverse conveyor device 19 is received together with the respective receiving device 18 on the respective fourth cross beam 14, wherein both of these transverse conveyor devices 19 are designed as belt conveyors.
[0027] As can be seen from the drawings, the transverse conveyor devices 19 are arranged behind the receiving members 18 when viewed in the harvesting direction or pulling direction of the harvesting device.
[0028] In the Fig. 1 to 3 In the working position of the harvesting device 10 shown, the two cross conveyor devices 19, designed as belt conveyors, which are arranged on different sides of the longitudinal member 12, are pushed together or moved towards each other in the transverse direction, minimizing the distance between the cross conveyor devices 19 and forming a transfer area 22 between the cross conveyor devices 19. With cross conveyor devices 19 driven in the same direction, the crop can be conveyed over the entire transverse extent of the harvesting device 10 to one side thereof. In this case, the crop is then deposited laterally next to the harvesting device 10 to form a side swath from the ground.
[0029] In contrast, it is also possible for each of the cross conveyor devices 19 designed as belt conveyors to be displaced transversely outward from the longitudinal beam 12, thereby eliminating the transfer area 22 between the cross conveyor devices 19, thereby creating a gap between the cross conveyor devices 19 (not shown). In this case, with the cross conveyor devices 19 driven in opposite directions, the crop can be combined into a so-called central swath in the area of this gap and deposited on the ground. With this displacement of the cross conveyor devices 19, the pickup elements 18 are also displaced.
[0030] As already explained above, in the area of both fourth cross members 13, 14 of the support frame 11, a transverse conveyor device 19 and a receiving member 18 are each accommodated on the respective fourth cross member 13, 14, wherein in the above configuration or elimination of the transfer area 22, the fourth cross members 13, 14 together with the transverse conveyor devices 19 and receiving members 18 accommodated thereon can be displaced translationally in the transverse direction relative to the third cross members 24, 25 of the support frame 11 via link kinematics 23.
[0031] Each link kinematics 23 has links 32, 33, which engage the respective fourth cross members 13, 14 and third cross members 24, 25 in an articulated manner in order to ensure the translational displaceability of the fourth cross members 13, 14 in the transverse direction.
[0032] Alternatively, the translational displaceability of the fourth cross members 13, 14 can be realized by telescopic supports.
[0033] The present invention now relates to such details of the harvesting device 10 by means of which the same can be easily and reliably switched between the Fig. 1 to 3 shown working position into the Fig. 12 to 14 shown transport position, wherein during this transfer of the harvesting device 10 from the working position of the Fig. 1 to 3 into the transport position of the Fig. 12 to 14 the harvesting device assumes an intermediate position, namely the intermediate position of the Fig. 7 to 9 , in order to finally reach the transport position of the Fig. 12 to 14 to take.
[0034] In order to now separate the harvesting device 10 according to the invention from the Fig. 1 to 3 shown working position into the Fig. 12 to 14In order to transfer the load to the transport position shown, the displaceable fourth cross member 13, which is arranged on the first side of the longitudinal member 12 and accommodates the respective receiving element 18 and the respective cross conveyor device 19, can be displaced together with the respective third cross member 24 from the working position about the axis 31 extending in the vertical direction relative to the respective second cross member 26 and thus also relative to the respective first cross member 28 into an intermediate position. For this purpose, the respective third and fourth cross members 13, 24, together with the respective receiving element 18 and the respective cross conveyor device 19, can be displaced backwards in a first direction about the respective axis 31 extending in the vertical direction, in particular can be folded, namely by an angle of 90°±5°, preferably by an angle of 90°.
[0035] In an analogous manner, the displaceable fourth cross member 14 arranged on the second side of the longitudinal member 12 and receiving the respective receiving member 18 and the respective cross conveyor device 19 can be displaced together with the respective third cross member 27 from the working position about a further axis 31 extending in the vertical direction relative to the respective second cross member 27 and thus the respective first cross member 29 into the intermediate position, specifically in a second direction opposite to the first direction, again backwards by an angle of 90°±5°, preferably by an angle of 90°.
[0036] The receiving elements 18 and transverse conveyor devices 19 arranged on both sides of the longitudinal member 12 are preferably displaced to the rear simultaneously.
[0037] In difficult ground conditions, especially on slopes, the two sides can be moved one after the other into the intermediate position according to Fig. 4-6be relocated to prevent the harvester from tipping over.
[0038] The sequence of Fig. 4 to 6 and Fig.7 to 8 It can be seen that starting from the working position of the Fig. 1 to 3 firstly, the receiving member 18 arranged on one side of the longitudinal member 12 is displaced backwards together with the respective transverse conveyor device 19 about the respective vertical axis 31, wherein during this displacement into the respective intermediate position the respective receiving member 18 is supported on the ground via its feeler wheels 21.
[0039] After the receiving member 18 positioned on this side together with the respective cross conveyor device 19 has been removed from the Fig. 1 to 3 shown working position into the Fig. 4 to 6shown intermediate position, the receiving member 18 arranged on the other side of the longitudinal member 12 is subsequently displaced together with the respective transverse conveyor device 19 around the respective vertical axis 31 extending in the vertical direction to the rear, so that then according to Figs. 7 and 8 both receiving elements 18 together with the respective transverse conveyor devices 19 are moved into their respective intermediate positions.
[0040] From their respective intermediate positions, the receiving members 18 and the transverse conveyor devices 19, which are arranged on the different sides of the longitudinal member 12, can be displaced about an axis 30 extending in the horizontal longitudinal direction, in that they can be displaced with the respective second cross member 26, 27 relative to the respective first cross member 28, 29, which engages firmly on the longitudinal member 12, in the direction of the transport position, in each case upwards by 90° ± 5°, preferably by 90°.
[0041] Fig. 9 to 10 show an intermediate position in which the receiving elements 18 and transverse conveyor devices 19 have not yet been completely moved upwards into the transport position.
[0042] In Fig. 12 to 14In contrast, the receiving elements 18 and transverse conveyor devices 19 are each completely displaced upwards into their transport position, whereby this occurs in opposite directions for the receiving elements 18 and transverse conveyor devices 19 arranged on different sides of the longitudinal member 12.
[0043] The relocation of the receiving members 18 and transverse conveyor devices 19 arranged on different sides of the longitudinal beam 12 from the intermediate position to the transport position preferably occurs simultaneously or at an overlapping time. This sequence during the transfer of the harvesting device from the working position to the transport position is preferred in order to ensure sufficient stabilization of the harvesting device during its transfer to the transport position.
[0044] According to the invention, as described in Figures 15 to 17a shown, for the third cross members 24, 25 each a form-fitting support 35 ( Fig. 16a, 17a ) is provided.
[0045] According to the invention, the respective third cross members 24, 25 are displaced rearward about the axis 31 by approximately 80° to 85° by means of an actuator 34, preferably a hydraulic cylinder. For the third cross member 25 arranged on the left in the direction of travel, this is Fig. 15 From this intermediate position, the third cross members 24, 25 are folded upwards around the axis 30, each by 90° ± 5° - preferably by 90°. This further intermediate position is shown in Fig. 16 The detail X marked by a dotted circle is shown in Fig. 16a shown enlarged.
[0046] In Fig. 16aIt can be seen that the support 35 consists of a hump-like lower part 36, which is arranged on the support frame or on the chassis frame of the harvesting machine, and an upper part 37, which is arranged on the third cross member 25. It can be seen that the upper part 37 is positioned slightly above the lower part 36 in this further intermediate position. The hump-like lower part 36 has on its upper side two mutually inclined surfaces 38 which face away from each other, and the upper part 37 has two mutually inclined surfaces 39 which face towards each other. The surfaces 38 of the lower part 36 and the surfaces 39 of the upper part 37 form a positive connection in the transport position.
[0047] For this purpose, the actuator 34 is retracted further so that the third cross member 25 with the working unit, consisting of receiving elements and cross conveyor, is completely lowered into its transport position (see Fig. 17), whereby the surfaces 39 of the upper part 37 come into contact with the surfaces 38 of the lower part 36 (see detail Y in Fig. 17a ). The actuator 34 is blocked in this position, thereby securely fixing the third cross member 25 in the transport position. Preferably, the actuator 34 is designed as a hydraulic cylinder, and its oil supply lines are blocked to fix its position.
[0048] This advantageously simple fixation of the transport position means that additional securing elements are not necessary. List of reference symbols
