Description
[0001] The invention relates to a brake caliper for a vehicle brake, in particular a commercial vehicle disc brake, comprising a bolt guide for axially displacing the brake caliper relative to a brake carrier, and a bolt that is axially displaceable relative to the bolt guide, wherein the bolt guide has a bushing surrounding the bolt. The invention further relates to a kit for a bolt guide of such a brake caliper.
[0002] With the help of such brake calipers, the brake pads of a vehicle brake are picked up and held in position on both sides of a brake disc of the vehicle brake. In order to ensure the mobility of the brake caliper and thus an even braking effect of the brake pads on the brake disc, the brake caliper has a bolt guide by means of which the brake caliper is held movable relative to and in particular on a brake carrier and the brake disc of the vehicle brake. A bolt is arranged within the bolt guide, with a relative movement taking place in the axial direction between the bolt guide and the bolt in order to enable axial alignment of the brake pads to the brake disc. The bolt is preferably arranged in a stationary manner with respect to the brake carrier, whereas the brake caliper is preferably moved axially. The moveability in the bolt guide is ensured by sufficient play between the bolt guide and the bolt.
[0003] The document DE 10 2018 006341 A1 can be cited as prior art.
[0004] However, undesirable noises, particularly rattling noises, can occur during vehicle operation, particularly due to the existing play between the bolt guide and the bolt. Such noises from the brakes of commercial vehicles used for passenger transport are perceived as particularly annoying by the driver and / or passengers. To counteract these noises, attempts were made, for example, to counteract the radial play between the bolt guide and the bolt by increasing the precision of the component manufacturing, but this was only partially successful. With increasing wear, the play increased, and thus the noises amplified.
[0005] The invention was based on the object of counteracting the above-mentioned disadvantages in a simplified manner. In particular, the invention was based on the object of providing a brake caliper of the aforementioned type in which noise generation is reduced in a simple manner.
[0006] The invention solves the underlying problem in a brake caliper of the aforementioned type with the features of the subject matter of claim 1. In particular, the brake caliper has, in addition to the bushing, a play compensation element arranged in the gap between the bushing and the bolt, wherein the play compensation element bears against the bushing and the bolt and is elastically deformable at least in sections.
[0007] According to the invention, the gap between the bolt and the bushing surrounding the bolt is filled with the play compensation element in such a way that the bushing and bolt are permanently in contact via the play compensation element, but the play compensation element still ensures the mobility of the bolt and the bolt guide relative to each other in the radial direction but primarily in the axial direction. By eliminating the radial play between the bolt and the bolt guide, unwanted noise during vehicle operation can now be easily avoided. At the same time, the play compensation element enables the necessary displacement of the brake caliper relative to the brake carrier, thus continuing to achieve a uniform braking effect. In addition, the play compensation element provides a simple way to compensate for any manufacturing tolerances that may occur during the manufacture of the components and thus a slightly varying radial play of the components that move relative to one another.
[0008] According to a preferred development of the invention, the play compensation element is designed to cushion a relative movement between the bolt and the bolt guide in the radial direction and preferably surrounds the bolt almost completely. Any forces acting on the movable brake caliper and any resulting movement of the brake caliper in the radial direction towards the bolt are absorbed, in particular cushioned, by the play compensation element in a simplified manner. The spring action of the play compensation element effectively slows down the movement of the brake caliper without generating disturbing noises, whereby the compensation element can also have a damping function in addition to or alternatively to the spring action. Thanks to the design of the play compensation element in almost the entire gap, acting forces are distributed evenly over the circumference of the compensation element. The bolt and bolt guide are thus in almost full contact with each other via the single clearance compensation element. Instead of a single clearance compensation element, several such compensation elements can be used, which are then evenly distributed or spaced apart from each other in the axial or circumferential direction in the gap between the bolt and bolt guide.
[0009] According to a development of the invention, the play compensation element has at least one, i.e. one or more, elastically deformable material sections along its axial extension direction, which extend in the circumferential direction. The length of the material section along the axial extension of the play compensation element is preferably short in relation to the total length of the play compensation element, preferably less than 25%, 10% or 5% of that total length. The direct and resilient contact of the bolt with the bolt guide, in particular with the bushing of the bolt guide surrounding the bolt, is brought about via the material section. By minimizing contact in the axial direction, the axial displaceability of the brake caliper relative to the bolt and thus to the brake carrier of the vehicle brake is improved. Thethe elastically deformable material sections on the compensation element extend preferably completely in the circumferential direction of the play compensation element.
[0010] In In a preferred embodiment, the play compensation element has two elastically deformable material sections formed at a distance from one another along its axial extension direction. In In a further embodiment, more than two elastically deformable material sections can be provided on the compensating element, which are arranged offset from one another in the axial direction in the play compensating element. In In embodiments in which the material sections are not formed over their entire circumference, the material sections are preferably offset from one another in the circumferential direction.
[0011] Preferably, the play compensation element, preferably in the unassembled state, has a component height in the region of its elastically deformable material section(s) that is greater than the gap dimension of the gap between the bushing and the bolt. This ensures that the play compensation element is preloaded in the assembled state, i.e. arranged in the gap between the bushing of the bolt guide and the bolt. As a result, the play compensation element in the gap between the bushing and the bolt directly generates a spring effect on the components, which are preferably held at a uniform distance from one another. Direct contact between the bolt and the bolt guide is particularly counteracted by the play compensation element. In this case, the gap dimension is understood to be the size of the gap with an equally large circumferential gap between the bolt and bushing, which corresponds to half the size of the total play of the bolt in the bushing.
[0012] According to a further development of the brake caliper, the play compensation element has a sleeve body which has a material thickness that is less than the gap between the bushing and the bolt, and wherein the sleeve body has a curvature protruding from the sleeve body in the region of its elastically deformable material section(s). By designing the play compensation element as a sleeve body, which also has a material thickness less than the gap between the bolt and bushing, the free movement of the brake caliper relative to the usually stationary bolt is achieved. The curvature(s) protruding from the sleeve body, which is / are designed to be elastically deformable, preferably serves as the contact point between the play compensation element and the bolt or bushing. When a compressive force acts on the curvature(s), preferably in a radial direction, this curvature(s) deforms. This deflects so that the necessary mobility is available in both the radial and axial directions of the bolt and bolt guide.
[0013] According to an alternative embodiment of the play compensation element as a sleeve body, the invention provides that the bushing has at least one recess, preferably a plurality of recesses distributed over its circumference, which extend(s) in the axial direction and in each of which a spring part of the play compensation element is arranged. Preferably, the play compensation element is formed from a plurality of, preferably more than three, in particular eight spring parts, which are arranged in a corresponding number of recesses within the bushing and each extend in the axial direction of the bushing.
[0014] Each spring part of the play compensation element has an elastically deformable material section, wherein at least one region of each spring part is in contact with the outside of the bolt and adjacent or neighbouring regions, in particular the end regions of each spring part, are in contact with the bottom of the recess in the bushing. In In this design, the material thickness of the spring parts can be selected to be greater than the gap between the bushing and the bolt. By providing recesses in the bushing, the clearance between the bolt and bushing can be reduced to a minimum, allowing the clearance to be selected independently of a minimum material thickness of the clearance compensation element.
[0015] InIn one embodiment of the invention, more than three, in particular six, seven, eight or more recesses are provided, distributed evenly around the circumference of the inner diameter of the bushing, in each of which a spring part of the play compensation element is arranged. Due to the evenly distributed arrangement of the spring parts of the play compensation element around the bolt, the play is almost uniform over the entire circumference of the bolt. In addition, the size of the contact surface between the outer side of the bolt and the play compensation element, and thus the frictional force to be overcome when moving the brake caliper, is preferably reduced by the spring parts distributed around the bolt.
[0016] The sleeve body is preferably made of elastically deformable spring steel, with the sleeve body preferably being compressed in the axial direction in the region of the elastically deformable material sections to form the bulges. In one embodiment, the play compensation element has two protruding bulges spaced apart from one another relative to its axial extension direction. Each of the bulges formed on the play compensation element extends circumferentially over the entire circumference of the play compensation element. The bulges create annular contact areas of the play compensation element that bear against only one of the components held together by the compensation element.By compressing the sleeve body during the formation of the bulges, the bulges preferably have a material thickness that is consistent with that of the rest of the sleeve body, which means that the strength of the play compensation element is not impaired.
[0017] A preferred embodiment of the brake caliper provides that the bushing and / or the play compensation element has a separation point with respect to its circumferential direction and is / are designed to be expanded or reduced by a specific amount with respect to its diameter. Such a separation point, with a separation point running in the axial direction of the play compensation element, enables simplified arrangement of the bushing in the bolt guide or of the play compensation element in the gap between the bolt guide of a brake caliper and the bolt. A bushing with an adjustable diameter can be easily inserted into a bore in the bolt guide. The play compensation element with an adjustable diameter enables simple adaptation to any manufacturing tolerances of both the bolt and the bushing of the bolt guide surrounding the bolt. When designing the play compensation element, it is therefore essential to ensure that the component height, i.e. the height above the elastically deformable material sections of the play compensation element, is greater than half the size of the largest possible radial play between the bolt and the bolt guide.
[0018] Preferably, the bushing is pressed into the bolt guide of the brake calliper, whereby a clamping effect is created between the outside of the bushing and the inside of the bolt guide and the bushing is thus fixed in the axial direction within the bolt guide.
[0019] In one embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the play compensation element in the unassembled state has an outer diameter which is larger than the inner diameter of the bushing and is designed to rest against the inside of the bushing in the assembled state.
[0020] The sleeve body of the play compensation element preferably rests against the inside of the bushing, which typically forms the guide surface. The elastically deformable material sections then create the resilient contact with the outside of the bolt, which moves directly along the material sections of the play compensation element. In this embodiment, during a compensating movement of the brake caliper, the bolt guide, together with the play compensation element, moves relative to the stationary bolt.
[0021] An alternative embodiment of the brake caliper provides that the play compensation element, in the unassembled state, has an inner diameter that is smaller than the outer diameter of the bolt and is designed to bear against the outer side of the bolt when assembled. This embodiment ensures that the play compensation element bears against the outer side of the bolt with its sleeve body. In particular, when the play compensation element is assembled, a clamping effect is created between the compensation element and the outer side of the bolt. In this embodiment, the elastically deformable material sections formed on the play compensation element create permanent spring contact with the inner side of the bushing of the bolt guide surrounding the bolt. During a compensating movement of the brake caliper, the bolt guide moves relative to the bolt and the play compensation element surrounding the bolt.
[0022] In Depending on the respective embodiments described above, the bulge(s) is / are formed so as to protrude on the inner surface of the sleeve body or on the outer surface of the sleeve body. If the sleeve body rests on the inside of the bushing, the bulge(s) on the inner surface of the sleeve body protrude towards the outside of the bolt. If, on the other hand, the sleeve body rests on the outside of the bolt, the bulge(s) on the outer surface of the sleeve body protrude towards the inside of the bushing. When the play compensation element is mounted in the gap between the bolt and the bushing, the radially protruding bulge(s) is / are elastically deformed and thus the desired spring tension is generated on the play compensation element, preferably over the entire circumference of the play compensation element.
[0023] Preferably, the play compensation element has one or more locking parts for axially positioning the play compensation element in the bolt guide. The locking part(s) hold the play compensation element in position either relative to the bolt guide or the bolt arranged in the bolt guide. This prevents unintentional axial movement of the play compensation element within the bolt guide.
[0024] In In a preferred embodiment, the locking part on the play compensation element interacts with a corresponding receptacle, for example on the bolt arranged in the bolt guide. In In this design, the bolt and play compensation element form a functional unit to which the bolt guide with the bushing is relatively movable.
[0025] According to a preferred development of the brake caliper, the play compensation element has a radially outwardly projecting contact flange at one end, which can be brought into contact with the bushing. In this embodiment, the play compensation element can be positioned axially relative to the bushing and thus the bolt guide on the brake caliper. The contact flange protruding radially outwardly at one end simultaneously prevents the play compensation element from moving axially relative to the bushing in the bolt guide. To further counteract unwanted movement of the bushing, the bushing, which can be made of a plastic material, for example, preferably has an oversize on the outside relative to the inner diameter of the bolt guide in the brake caliper.
[0026] The radially outwardly projecting contact flange preferably connects the multiple spring parts of the play compensation element arranged in the recesses. The flange connecting the spring parts positions them relative to one another both axially and in the circumferential direction of the play compensation element. The spring parts preferably extend substantially perpendicular to the stop flange, which has a substantially circular ring shape. The spring parts preferably extend in one direction from the contact flange or protrude approximately perpendicularly from one end face of the contact flange.
[0027] In In another development of the brake calliper, it is provided that the play compensation element has an outwardly projecting locking part at its end opposite the contact flange, which, in the assembled state, interacts with the opposite end of the bushing.
[0028] Preferably, the locking part is a radially outwardly projecting portion on the sleeve body, preferably at an end of the sleeve body opposite the contact flange. The contact flange and the locking part preferably overlap the bushing arranged in the bolt guide on both sides in the axial direction, preferably at the end faces, thereby achieving a simple locking of the play compensation element relative to the bushing of the bolt guide.
[0029] The locking part is preferably designed as an elastically deformable section on the sleeve body. As a result, the locking part deflects radially inward by a predetermined amount when the play compensation element is inserted, particularly toward the inside of the bushing in the bolt guide. To simplify the insertion of the play compensation element, the locking part is arranged only along a portion of the circumference at the second end of the play compensation element opposite the contact flange. In a preferred embodiment of the brake caliper, two or more such locking parts are provided at the second end of the play compensation element, which are further preferably each arranged at a uniform angular dimension to one another along the circumference of the play compensation element. In addition, preferably by means of the bolt in the assembled state, the locking part is blocked in its locking position by the bolt arranged on the inside and is prevented from disengaging in the radial direction.
[0030] The invention has been described above in a first aspect with reference to a brake caliper. In a further aspect, the invention relates to a kit for a bolt guide of a brake caliper according to one of the preferred embodiments described above.
[0031] The invention achieves the object stated at the outset in that the kit has a bolt and a bushing that can be arranged around the bolt, wherein the kit further comprises a play compensation element that can be arranged between the bolt and the bushing. With the help of the play compensation element, which is elastically deformable at least in sections, any play existing between the bolt and the bushing is preferably completely compensated in the assembled state, i.e. when the play compensation element is arranged between the bushing and the bolt and is in contact with both components, bolt and bushing. In this case, a low-friction sliding movement of the bolt and bushing relative to one another is preferably possible despite the play-free contact between the bolt and bushing, so that the freedom of movement of the brake caliper on the brake carrier is fully guaranteed.
[0032] The advantages and preferred embodiments described for the brake caliper of the first aspect are at the same time also advantages and preferred embodiments of the kit according to the second aspect and vice versa, wherein in particular the kit can and should be used as a replacement part in connection with a repair or maintenance measure on a brake caliper of the brake system of a commercial vehicle.
[0033] The invention is described in more detail below using a preferred embodiment with reference to the accompanying figures. The features of the invention disclosed in the description, the drawings, and the claims may be essential for further development of the invention, both individually and in any combination, provided they do not contradict one another technically.
[0034] They show: Fig. 1: an embodiment of a brake caliper in a schematic perspective view; Fig. 2: a view of an embodiment of a bolt guide on the brake caliper according to Fig. 1 in a sectional view; Fig. 3: a detailed view of detail II from Fig. 2 ; Fig. 4 and 5: views of a further embodiment of a bolt guide in sectional views, and Fig. 6: a detailed view of detail IV from Fig. 5 .
[0035] Fig. 1 shows a schematic representation of an embodiment of a brake caliper 100, in which, for the sake of simplicity, further components not essential to the invention, such as the brake pads, hold-down springs or retaining clips for the brake pads, are not shown.
[0036] The brake caliper 100 has a bolt guide 110 which includes at least one bore 112 or recess in the brake caliper 100.
[0037] The bolt guide 110 is configured to displace the brake caliper 100 relative to a brake carrier (not shown in detail) in the axial direction A. The bolt guide 110 further comprises at least one bushing 114 arranged in the bore 112. In one possible embodiment, the bushings 114 are pressed into the respective bore 112. This achieves a clamping effect between the outer side of the bushing(s) 114 and the bore 112 in the brake caliper.
[0038] In In the assembled state, a respective bolt 120 is arranged in each bolt guide 110, which is movably guided relative to the bushing or bushings 114.
[0039] To ensure relative movement between the bolt 120, which is particularly fastened to the brake carrier, and the bolt guide 110, the bolt guide 110 and the bolt 120 have a clearance fit. Each bolt 120 is connected to the brake carrier (not shown in detail) by means of a fastening screw 122. To protect the bolt guide from environmental influences, the opening 112 is closed from the outside by a cover cap 116.
[0040] Furthermore, the brake calliper 100, as shown Fig. 2 As can be seen, in order to avoid undesirable noises caused by the bolt guide and bolt hitting each other during operation of the commercial vehicle, there is also a play compensation element 130 arranged in the gap 117 between the bushing 114 and the bolt 120.
[0041] In one embodiment, first sections of the clearance compensation element 130 abut the bushing 114, and second sections of the clearance compensation element 130 abut the bolt 120. The clearance compensation element 130 maintains the bolt guide 110 and the bolt 120 at a distance from each other in the radial direction R.
[0042] The play compensation element 130 is designed to be elastically deformable, at least in sections. The play compensation element 130 is configured to generate a spring force acting in the radial direction R on the mutually facing surfaces of the bolt 120 and the bolt guide 110.
[0043] In one embodiment, the play compensation element 130 surrounds the bolt almost completely, so that the bolt 120 is supported against the bushing over almost its entire outer circumference. In one possible embodiment, the play compensation element 130 has one or more elastically deformable material sections 132, relative to its axial extension direction. The deformable material sections 132 can, for example, be formed from a material with damping properties.
[0044] In the unassembled state, the play compensation element 130 has a component height in the region of its elastically deformable material section(s) 132 that is greater than the gap dimension of the circumferential gap 117 to be formed uniformly between the bushing and the bolt. This ensures that the bushing 114 and the bolt 120 are in permanent contact with each other via the play compensation element, preferably over a large part of the circumference, but without directly touching each other.
[0045] In one embodiment, the play compensation element 130 comprises a sleeve body 134. The sleeve body 134 has a material thickness that is less than the gap dimension of the gap 117 between the bushing 114 and the bolt 120.
[0046] In the embodiment shown here, two elastically deformable material sections 132 are provided on the sleeve body 134, which are formed relative to one another in the axial direction A. The deformable material sections 132 are formed as protruding bulges 136 on the sleeve body 134.
[0047] In a preferred embodiment, the sleeve body 134 is made of elastically deformable spring steel. In one embodiment, the sleeve body 134 produced from the spring steel is compressed in the axial direction to form the protruding bulges 136 on the sleeve body.
[0048] In one possible embodiment, the clearance compensation element 130 is provided with a separation point (not shown in detail) along its circumferential direction. This allows the clearance compensation element 130 to be expanded or compressed by a predetermined amount relative to its diameter. This simplifies the assembly of the clearance compensation element 130 within the bolt guide 110.
[0049] In an embodiment not shown in detail, the play compensation element 130 has an outer diameter in the unassembled state which is larger than the inner diameter of the bushing 114. The play compensation element 130 lies, as exemplified in Fig. 3As shown, in this embodiment, in the assembled state, in particular with its sleeve body 134, it rests against the inside of the bushing 114. The elastically deformable material sections 132 of the play compensation element, designed as curvatures 136, protrude radially inward on the sleeve body 134 in the direction of the bolt 120 movable therealong.
[0050] In a further embodiment, also not shown in detail, the play compensation element 130, in the unassembled state, has an inner diameter that is smaller than the outer diameter of the bolt 120. In the assembled state, the play compensation element 130 in this embodiment then rests with its sleeve body 134 on the outer side of the bolt 120. The elastically deformable material sections 132, designed as curvatures 136, by means of which a spring force is generated in the radial direction R, now protrude radially outward on the outer side of the sleeve body towards the inner side of the bushing 114.
[0051] A clamping force acts between the sleeve body 130 and the component in contact with it (sleeve 114 or bolt 120). The relative movement then occurs directly between the play compensation element 130 and, depending on the design of the compensation element 130, the component in contact with the bulges 136, i.e., the sleeve 114 or the bolt 120.
[0052] In one embodiment of the play compensation element, as can be seen from Fig. 3 As can be seen in detail, several locking parts 138 are provided on the play compensation element 130 for positioning the play compensation element in the axial direction A in the bolt guide 110.
[0053] The play compensation element 130 has a radially outwardly projecting contact flange 140 at one (first) end and an outwardly projecting locking part 142 at the (second) end of the play compensation element 130 opposite the contact flange.
[0054] In the embodiment shown, the contact flange and locking part 142 are configured to interact with the end faces 118 of the bushing 114 when the play compensation element 130 is mounted. The locking parts 138 of the play compensation element 130 lock it relative to the bushing 114 pressed into the bolt guide by laterally overlapping the locking parts.
[0055] In In one embodiment, the locking part at the end of the play compensation element 130 opposite the contact flange is formed as an elastically deformable section on the sleeve body. When the play compensation element is inserted into the bolt guide, the locking part 142 deflects due to deformation on the sleeve body. In the embodiment shown, the contact flange 140 and the locking part 142 are formed integrally with the sleeve body 134.
[0056] The Fig. 4 and 5show a further embodiment of a bolt guide 110 for the brake calliper 100 ( Fig. 1 ). The bolt guide 110 also has a bore 112 in the brake caliper 100.
[0057] A bushing 124 is arranged within the bore 112 of the bolt guide 110. The bushing 124 has a separation point 126, which simplifies the pressing of the bushing 124 into the bore 112. A clamping force acts between the outer surface of the bushing 124 and the wall of the bore 112 in the brake caliper 100, locking the bushing 124.
[0058] As is particularly evident from Fig. 4As can be seen, the bushing 124 has a plurality of recesses 128 distributed over the circumference, which extend in the axial direction of the bushing and are configured to receive sections of a play compensation element 150. In particular, spring parts 152 of the play compensation element 150 are arranged in each recess, which are configured to cushion a relative movement between the bolt 120 and the bolt guide 110 in the radial direction R. In particular, the spring parts generate a spring force acting in the radial direction R on the mutually facing surfaces of the bolt 120 and the bolt guide 110, which is uniformly distributed in the circumferential direction.
[0059] InIn the illustrated embodiment, the clearance compensation element 150 has eight spring parts 52, and the bushing 124 corresponding to the clearance compensation element 150 has eight recesses. The spring parts 152 of the clearance compensation element 150 are each arranged in the recesses 128 of the bushing 124.
[0060] How Fig. 6 As illustrated, the interlocking design of bushing 124 and play compensation element 150 allows the gap 117 and thus the play dimension between the inside of bushing 124 and the outside of bolt 120 to be reduced.
[0061] The spring parts 152 of the play compensation element 150 are each connected to one another at a first end via a contact flange 154. The contact flange 154 also cooperates with the end face 118 of the bushing 124. In particular, the contact flange 154 is designed to position the spring parts 152 in a predetermined arrangement relative to one another, as can be seen from Fig. 6visible.
