Description
[0001] The invention relates to a revolving door for a building installation, comprising opposing drum walls and a ceiling body with a front edge. A turnstile comprising a plurality of leaf elements is rotatably arranged between the drum walls. The drum walls and the front edge, together with a door base accessible to a user, form edge regions of an entry opening for the user to enter the revolving door. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for operating such a revolving door. STATE OF THE ART
[0002] Illuminated revolving doors with a signal indicator for faults or special operations, such as a fire, are generally known from the state of the art.
[0003] EP 2 754 821 A2, for example, discloses a revolving door with a light ring arranged around the ceiling-mounted motor. A similar lighting device is disclosed in EP 3 034 759 A1. The lighting devices of revolving doors have in common that they merely fulfill a simple function of illuminating the accessible area of the revolving door without providing any additional signaling function. Furthermore, devices with light signals are known from CN 107 401 345 A and DE 10 2005 004505 A1.
[0004] However, it is desirable to provide a pedestrian with additional information upon entering the accessible area, which the pedestrian can perceive and understand intuitively without increased attention. Particularly in the event of a fire, when smoke obscures or even prevents visibility, it is desirable to make the area of a revolving door accessible to a pedestrian as quickly as possible, especially without the turnstile's rotation slowing down or stopping.
[0005] Another important aspect of improving a revolving door is that by positively influencing the flow of people, the flow of people can be improved, effectively allowing more people to enter or exit a building through the revolving door without disruption. In addition, a more consistent revolving door's operation, without frequent deceleration and acceleration and without emergency stops, protects the drive and bearing components and ensures a longer service life.
[0006] Last but not least, people whose orientation and mobility may be restricted due to smoke are at risk of collision with and / or becoming trapped between elements of the revolving door, which must be avoided. Therefore, the aim is to improve the comfort of using the revolving door as well as its safety in hazardous situations. DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION
[0007] It is therefore the object of the present invention to counteract the aforementioned disadvantages and to create a revolving door which offers greater walking comfort and further improves walking safety in dangerous situations.
[0008] This object is achieved by a revolving door according to the preamble of the independent claims in conjunction with the respective characterizing features. Advantageous developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims.
[0009] The invention includes the technical teaching that a revolving door for building installation has two opposing drum walls, between which a turnstile comprising several leaf elements is rotatably arranged as a component of the revolving door. The revolving door therefore comprises the turnstile and optionally also a door base. Due to its design, the revolving door can therefore have a door base that a user can walk on. Alternatively, the revolving door, comprising the drum walls, the turnstile, and the ceiling body, is mounted on such a walkable and existing door base, which the leaf elements pass over when the turnstile rotates. Thus, the door base can be an optional component of the revolving door, but it can also form a built-in base on which the revolving door and its components are placed. The drum walls, the front edge, and the ceiling body thus form the edge areas of an entry opening for the user to enter the revolving door. The door base is part of the entry opening but not necessarily part of the revolving door. In other words, the drum walls and the front edge, together with the door base accessible to a user, form the edge areas of an entry opening for the user to enter the revolving door, at least in the installed position.
[0010] According to the invention, the revolving door has at least one illuminating means arranged at at least one edge region of the entrance opening and / or at a main closing edge of at least one of the wing elements to form a light signal function. Within the scope of the invention, the illuminating means is formed by one or more illuminating elements arranged in a specific manner, such as LEDs, OLEDs, light strips, or light tubes. Optical elements that modify the light emission of the illuminating element(s) can also be provided, e.g., diffuser films, light guides, optical deflection elements such as prisms or mirrors, and the like.
[0011] This makes it possible, especially in the case of smoke, to indicate where the passage through the revolving door is located. A direction of passage can also be signaled, for example, in the form of a moving light or an alarm. And since the passage is always visually detected by the people passing through the revolving door, it can be assumed that these people are very likely to register the light signal function, even if their perception is impaired.
[0012] The at least one illuminant preferably has an elongated extension and forms a light band during operation. Such a light band has the advantage of being able to clearly indicate an area, such as the passageway to the turnstile, via illuminated line emitters in the form of a light frame.
[0013] To illuminate the passage area between the drum walls, but in front of and behind a moving wing element, the light source is designed to emit at least two different light colors, particularly red and green. This makes it possible to show people, for example, whether the passage area is still large enough to pass through with a moving wing element (green color) or is already too small due to the pivoting movement of the wing element (red color).
[0014] In In this context, it should be noted that a single color may be sufficient, for example, if a red signal is only displayed when passage is not permitted. Alternatively, a green light signal alone could also be conceivable, indicating that the access opening is still large enough, for example.
[0015] At least one light source is also arranged on the drum walls, particularly at a rear edge and / or a counter-closing edge, which form the lateral edge regions of the entrance opening. These fixed light sources can, for example, visually delimit the respective passage area, which benefits the pedestrian's visibility.
[0016] Additionally or alternatively, the light source can be designed to emit light of different colors at least in sections along its elongated extension. This makes it possible, for example, to have the light source illuminate red in the left half of the passageway between the drum walls and green in the right half. This shows people which area is currently intended or suitable for passing through the revolving door. If the user enters the area that is at least partially demarcated by a green light, the turnstile can continue rotating unhindered. The red area indicates the area in which the turnstile slows down the rotational movement if the user intentionally enters, stops the door, or even collides with the door leaf or, for example, with the main closing edge.
[0017] A color boundary can be created between the sections of light with different colors along the length of the light source, which can be adjusted in position along the length of the light source. With regard to the aforementioned example, this makes it possible to display the respective area of the passageway to a pedestrian, depending on their passage width, either in front of them or behind them as the wing element continues to move. The edge or frame of the no-walk area can then change, for example, from green to red.
[0018] All of the aforementioned revolving doors can be equipped with at least one sensor for closing edge monitoring. At least one light is designed to operate in response to a sensor signal from the closing edge monitoring sensor. As long as there is no danger, this light would, for example, glow green or not at all. If someone enters the danger zone, this light can be activated, for example, glowing red or even flashing, even before the turnstile slows down or stops its rotation.
[0019] Alternatively or additionally, at least one sensor can be configured for person detection. The at least one light source is operable in response to a sensor signal from the person detection sensor. Person detection can include identification with regard to authorization to pass through the revolving door and / or detection when a person approaches the revolving door. In the former case, the at least one light source can illuminate green when the detected person is permitted to pass through the revolving door. In the latter case, the at least one light source can illuminate green when the detected person can safely enter the revolving door, and otherwise, for example, be dark.
[0020] Alternatively or additionally, the at least one light source can be configured to operate depending on the position of a turnstile wing element located in the passage area between the drum walls (= entrance opening). For example, if this wing approaches a drum wall, this light source can flash red to indicate that the area between this wing and the nearest drum wall is no longer permitted.
[0021] The invention also includes a method for operating one of the aforementioned revolving doors. A control system is provided by which the at least one light source is operated such that, when the turnstile is rotating, the light source visually indicates to the user of the revolving door an accessible area within the entrance opening when they enter the entrance opening. This allows the person to avoid getting too close to the dangerous areas of the revolving door and thus inadvertently slowing down or even stopping the revolving door. This ensures continuous operation of the revolving door and thus operational safety.
[0022] The accessible area is preferably indicated by means of various on / off modes and / or by moving the light of at least one light source, in particular with a red and a green light color. Green can be used to signal that the accessible area can be entered safely, with "safe" meaning that there is no danger and / or no safety circuit triggers a safety function such as braking the turnstile.
[0023] As the turnstile rotates, the entrance opening is divided into a continuously shrinking front wing area and a continuously expanding rear wing area of the wing element located in the entrance opening. Using the control system according to the invention, the at least one light source is controlled in a time-dependent and / or color-changing manner depending on the size of the front wing area and / or the rear wing area in order to indicate a suitable entry area to a user. This can signal whether the area to the left or right of this wing element is currently considered a more suitable entry area.
[0024] The light(s) indicating the suitable entry area can be operated with green light, while the light(s) indicating an unsuitable entry area can be operated with red light. This provides particularly easy-to-understand signaling for the two entry areas to the right and left of the relevant wing element.
[0025] In each of the aforementioned methods, to indicate a suitable or unsuitable entry section, a light source configured with an elongated extension can be operated with a first light color, in particular red or green, over a first length and a second light color, in particular again red or green, over a second length. The position of the transition between the first light color and the second light color can be variable. This makes it possible to optically depict the enlargement or reduction of the respective entry section; for example, the position of the transition of the light color can move with the position of the closing edge on the rotating sash element. This is intended for escape in the event of a fire, in particular when smoke obscures visibility, thus improving safety in emergency operations.
[0026] The at least one elongated light source can be arranged on the door base or on an upper end edge of the revolving door. The position of the transition between the first light color and the second light color of the elongated light source corresponds to the position at which the wing element, when the turnstile rotates, preferably brushes over the door base with its main closing edge or is moved along or below the end edge. This provides an easily recognizable signal as to where the entry sections of the revolving door are currently located. This makes it easier to identify the otherwise possibly unrecognizable wing element, particularly in the event of a fire, and helps avoid collisions. This correspondence does not necessarily mean that it has to have exactly the same position, and it might be useful to move the position of the light color transition slightly in front of or behind the wing element.
[0027] The object is thus also achieved by the method according to independent claim 10. Advantageous developments of the revolving door and the method are indicated in the description and the figures. Features and details described in connection with the method according to the invention also apply in connection with the revolving door according to the invention, and vice versa. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
[0028] Further measures improving the invention are described in more detail below, together with the description of preferred embodiments of the invention, with reference to the figures. It shows: Figures 1a and 1b show a revolving door according to a first embodiment of the invention in two operating positions, Figures 2a and 2b show a revolving door according to a second embodiment of the invention in two operating positions, Figures 3a and 3b show a revolving door according to a third embodiment of the invention in two operating positions, Figure 4 show a revolving door according to a fourth embodiment of the invention and Figure 5 show a revolving door according to a fifth embodiment of the invention.
[0029] The Figures 1a and 1b show a revolving door 100 according to a first embodiment of the invention, each in an operating position. The revolving door 100 is essentially constructed in a conventional manner and comprises two drum walls 10 with a turnstile 12, which in the example shown comprises four wing elements 11. As is known, the drum walls 10 enclose a passage area open on two sides.
[0030] By means of the wing element 11 of the turnstile 12 pivoting through the inlet opening 15, a front and a rear section of the inlet opening 15 are defined in the passage area with respect to the wing element 11.
[0031] In the following, reference is always made to the wing element 11 pivoting horizontally through the entrance opening 15. Therefore, the reference numeral 17 refers to a main closing edge of this wing element 11. Provided that the turnstile 12 rotates this wing element 11 to the right in the entrance area 15, this wing element 11 divides the entrance area 15 into a wing front area 14.1 between a counter-closing edge 19 of the right drum wall 10 facing the wing element 11 and the wing element 11, which gradually decreases from a maximum passage width when the turnstile 12 rotates, and a wing rear area 14.2 between a rear edge 18 of the left drum wall 10 facing the wing element 11 and the wing element 11, which gradually increases again to the maximum passage width when the turnstile 12 rotates.
[0032] The revolving door 100 has a ceiling-side closure in the form of an upper ceiling above the turnstile 12. The upper ceiling has at least one front edge 14, in or on which a control unit 23 and sensors 21 for closing edge monitoring and sensors 22 for person detection are arranged. The control unit 23 can also be located at any other location, e.g., in an external control column or an external control cabinet, which offers the advantage of better accessibility.
[0033] The sensor 21 is designed to detect obstacles or persons or objects such as trolley cases or the like if they are located too close to the counter-closing edge 19 of the right drum wall 10.
[0034] In the simplest case, the sensors 22, 22 serve to detect the presence of persons and preferably animals and / or objects in order to activate the drive of the revolving door 100 if necessary.
[0035] In the illustrated embodiment, a light source 16 is arranged along the counter-closing edge 19. The light source 16 is configured to illuminate in two colors, namely, for example, green or red. The controller 23 controls the light source 16 to illuminate green as long as the wing element 11 is still far enough away from the counter-closing edge 19 ( Figure 1a ). If the sash element 11 with its main closing edge 17 comes too close to the counter-closing edge 19, the luminous colour changes to red to signal that the front area of the sash 14.1 has become so small that it can no longer be entered without danger, as shown in Figure 1bshown. If the distance falls below a threshold at which there is a risk of entrapment, the lamp 16 preferably flashes red. Once the wing element 11 has reached the counter-closing edge 19, there is no longer any risk of entrapment, and the lamp 16 is switched off or switched to green for the subsequent wing element 11, so that the entire process is repeated.
[0036] The Figures 2a and 2b show a revolving door 100 according to a second embodiment of the invention, also in an operating position. The operating positions correspond to those of Figure 1a (wing element 11 far enough away from the counter closing edge 19) and from Figure 1b (Leaf element 11 too close to the counter closing edge 19).
[0037] In this exemplary embodiment, not only the counter-closing edge 19 but also the main closing edge 17 of each wing element 11 has a light source 16. The controller 23 preferably controls the light sources 16 on the wing elements 11 that are located within a respective inlet opening 15.
[0038] According to Figure 2athe front wing element 11 gradually enlarges the wing rear area 14.2 and simultaneously reduces the wing front area 14.1. As long as the distance between the main closing edge 17 of this wing element 11 and the rear edge 18 of the left drum wall 10 is so small that the wing rear area 14.2 cannot be safely entered without, for example, triggering a safety reaction of the revolving door 100, the lamp 16 on this wing element 11 lights up yellow, shown as an example with cross-hatching of the lamp 16 on the main closing edge 17. Since the distance between this main closing edge 17 and the counter-closing edge 19 of the right drum wall 10 is sufficiently large, i.e. the wing front area 14.1 can be entered without any problems, the lamp 16 on this counter-closing edge 19 lights up green, shown as an example with right-hand hatching of the lamp 16.
[0039] It is also conceivable that the illuminant 16 on the front side of the wing element 11 lights up yellow permanently or at least whenever it is located in the passage area, and in this way a collision between the pedestrian and the wing element 11 can be prevented, so that a periodic switching is not provided in order not to confuse a pedestrian.
[0040] If the distance between this main closing edge 17 and the rear edge 18 of the left drum wall 10 has become sufficiently large that the rear area 14.2 of the wing can be safely entered, and this wing element 11 has not yet reached the right drum wall 10, the luminous color of the lamp 16 on this wing element 11 changes to green, for example. If the distance between this main closing edge 17 and the counter-closing edge 19 of the right drum wall 10 becomes so small that the front area 14.1 of the wing can no longer be safely entered, the lamp 16 on this counter-closing edge 19 changes to red, as shown in Figure 2b shown, see cross-hatching or dotted bar of the lamp 16.
[0041] If this distance becomes so small that there is a risk of entrapment, both lights 16 on the wing element 11 and on the right drum wall 10 can be provided to illuminate or flash red. However, it is also conceivable that this counter-closing edge 19 changes to yellow if the distance is too small and only illuminates or flashes red when there is a risk of entrapment. For simplicity, it may also be sufficient to avoid too many color changes to avoid confusing the pedestrian, so that, for example, only a green access area is displayed when it is actually accessible.
[0042] This process is repeated cyclically for each subsequent wing element 11 moving into the inlet opening 15. Alternatively, the light 16 on the wing element 11 is provided to glow yellow continuously to signal the presence of the wing element 11 in the inlet opening 15 or its movement. The light 16 on the wing element 11 therefore serves a purely informational function.
[0043] The Figures 3a and 3b each show a revolving door 100 according to a third embodiment of the invention, again in two operating positions.
[0044] According to this exemplary embodiment, the rear edge 18 of the left drum wall 10 and the counter-closing edge 19 of the right drum wall 10 each have a light source 16. Each wing element 11 has, on its main closing edge 17 (not shown here), a light element 16 with two separately controllable light sections 16c, 16d, which can illuminate in different colors. Preferably, a light source 16 is also located on the front edge 14 in the region of its outer edge of the upper ceiling facing the turnstile 12. This light source 16 has two sections 16a, 16b of variable length parallel to the floor 13, which can be illuminated in different colors.
[0045] The illuminant 16 of the left drum wall 10 and the illuminating sections 16a, 16c frame the wing rear area 14.2 from above, and the illuminant 16 of the right drum wall 10 and the illuminating sections 16b, 16d frame the wing front area 14.1.
[0046] As long as the distance between the main closing edge 17 with the illuminated sections 16a, 16b and the rear edge 18 of the left drum wall 10 is so small that the rear area 14.2 of the wing cannot be safely entered, the illuminating element 16 of the left drum wall 10 and the illuminated sections 16a, 16c illuminate red. Since the distance between this main closing edge 17 and the counter-closing edge 19 of the right drum wall 10 is sufficiently large, the illuminating element 16 of the right drum wall 10 and the illuminated sections 16b, 16d illuminate green.
[0047] If the distance between the main closing edge 17 with the luminous sections 16c, 16d and the rear edge 18 of the left drum wall 10 has become sufficiently large that the wing rear area 14.2 can be entered safely, and this wing element 11 has not yet reached the right drum wall 10, the luminous colour of the illuminant 16 of the left drum wall 10 and the luminous sections 16a, 16c changes to green, as shown in Figure 3bshown. If the distance between this main closing edge 17 and the counter-closing edge 19 of the right drum wall 10 becomes so small that the front area 14.1 of the leaf cannot be safely entered, the luminous colour of the lamp 16 of the right drum wall 10 and the luminous sections 16b, 16d changes to red, as also shown in Figure 3b shown. If this distance becomes so small that the rotation of the turnstile must be slowed down or stopped, or if there is even a risk of entrapment, the light source 16 of the right drum wall 10 and the light sections 16b, 16d can be configured to flash red. Instead of the red light and red flashing scenario, the corresponding yellow light and red light can be configured.
[0048] Between the illuminated sections 16a, 16b is a color boundary 20, which can be realized, for example, by means of a non-luminous lighting element such as an LED, which is particularly designed as a line emitter. The color boundary 20 can be designed to move with the main closing edge 17 of the wing element 11 located in the respective entrance opening 15. To achieve this, the illuminating means 16 has a plurality of lighting elements on the front edge 14, which are controlled by the controller 23 to illuminate in the respective intended color depending on the position of the turnstile 12.
[0049] Figure 4 shows a revolving door according to a fourth embodiment of the invention. In contrast to Figure 3 the light sections 16c, 16d and the lamps 16 on the drum walls 10 are missing. The control of the light sections 16a, 16b preferably resembles Figure 3 .
[0050] Figure 5shows a revolving door according to a fifth embodiment of the invention. In contrast to Figure 4 Illuminated sections 16a, 16b are not provided in or on the front edge 14 but in the door bottom 13. The control of the illuminated sections 16a, 16b preferably again compensates for the process Figure 3 This embodiment has the advantage that even people moving on the ground, for example due to fire or smoke, can safely find and pass through the revolving door if it is intended as an escape route door.
[0051] The invention is not limited in its implementation to the preferred embodiment described above. Rather, a number of variants are conceivable, which utilize the presented solution even in fundamentally different embodiments. All features and / or advantages apparent from the claims, the description, or the drawings, including structural details or spatial arrangements, may be essential to the invention both individually and in a wide variety of combinations.
[0052] The lighting elements 16 or lighting sections 16a, 16b which can be arranged on the drum walls 10, the front edge 14 and in the base 13 can also be formed in the area of the entry opening of the revolving doors 100 shown, which is not designated and points rearward in the figures.
[0053] The luminous sections 16a - 16d and the illuminants 16 of the exemplary embodiments can be provided in any form individually or in combination with one another. For example, the revolving door 100 according to Figure 3 also provided in the floor 13 luminous sections 16a, 16b according to Figure 5 which may, for example, consist of a series of LED point emitters or of a line emitter, for example so-called light strips.
[0054] As a result, the invention creates a way to simplify access to a revolving door and make it safer in the event of a fire. Suitable applications include public and private areas, particularly sensitive areas such as retirement homes, hospitals, and kindergartens. Furthermore, the intuitively easy-to-understand lighting scenarios are particularly well-suited for people requiring special protection, those who are unfamiliar with using the door, who require additional protection due to a disability, or who are unable to assess the residual risks of a machine.
[0055] The colors of the luminous sections 16a - 16d and the illuminants 16 are described above and are arbitrarily represented by different surfaces of the luminous sections 16a - 16d and the illuminants 16 such as left or right-facing hatching, cross-hatching or dotted surfaces, whereby no fixed color is to be assigned to the surface structure of the luminous sections 16a - 16d and the illuminants 16 and these only serve for differentiation.
