Description
Background of the invention
[0001] The invention relates to a blank for unfolding a holding device for containers with a raised rim on the upper side, wherein the blank has a cover section for placement on a series of containers, and wherein two opposing fixing sections are formed laterally on the cover section, which are connected to the cover section by fold lines, wherein straight main cutting lines, running parallel and offset to the fold lines, form retaining edges for engaging the raised rims of the containers on the fixing sections, wherein a contact section for contact with a lateral surface of the containers adjoins each of the two outer fixing sections, and wherein the contact sections have tabs for connecting the contact sections to one another. The invention further relates to a holding device obtained by folding such a blank and to a container with such a holding device.
[0002] A blank of the aforementioned type is known from US 2012 / 0138489 A1. This blank has a top section and fixing sections that are hinged to the top section via fold lines, with straight main cutting lines running parallel to and offset from the fold lines in the fixing sections, forming retaining edges. Tabs for connecting struts, which extend from the fixing sections and along the outer surfaces of the containers, are arranged between the tops of the containers and the top section.
[0003] In a cutting method known from WO 2004 / 085282 A1, the main cutting lines run straight in sections, with a section of the respective main cutting line being provided between holding edges for gripping the respective bead edge, offset beyond the fold lines, in the area of which the fixing section lies laterally against the bead edge.
[0004] Further blanks and the holding devices derived from them are known, for example, from DE 602 12 630 T2 and WO 2018 / 035344 A1. In these previously known blanks, curved edges are provided at the fixing sections for gripping the beaded edges of cans. The curvature of the edges is already present in the flat blank and follows the curvature of the cans; in other words, the edges for holding each can are already curved around a respective central axis in the flat state of the blank.
[0005] US patent 2011 / 0000799 A1 discloses a blank for a can-holding device, which has star-shaped recesses for receiving the cans with edge sections curved towards the respective can. The inwardly projecting vertices of the edge sections can engage under the beaded edges of the cans when the cans protrude through the recesses. WO 2009 / 023822 A1 discloses a similar blank in which the recesses have U-shaped sections.
[0006] For the transport and handling of containers, such as cans, it is important that the containers are held securely and stably. At the same time, the container and its holding device should be simple and inexpensive to manufacture. Furthermore, it is desirable that the containers can be easily removed from the holding device. Object of the invention
[0007] One object of the invention is to improve the grouping of containers into a single unit. Description of the invention
[0008] This problem is solved according to the invention by a blank having the features specified in claim 1, a holding device according to claim 12 and a container according to claim 14. The respective dependent claims and the description specify advantageous embodiments.
[0009] According to the invention, a blank for unfolding a holding device for containers with a beaded rim is provided. The holding device is obtained by folding the blank. The containers typically have a cylindrical surface. Typically, a beaded rim projects radially outwards from the top surface of the container. The surface can taper conically towards the beaded rim. The containers can be cans, for example, beverage cans.
[0010] The blank consists of a flat material. This flat material is preferably a cellulose-based material, especially cardboard. Cellulose-based flat material is easily recyclable. The flat material may be coated and / or printed. The coating or print is preferably water-repellent. Alternatively or additionally, water-repellent additives may be incorporated into the cellulose-based flat material. The flat material may be a composite material, such as a laminate. In particular, the flat material may be laminated with a plastic film. Preferably, the blank is a single piece.
[0011] The blank has a cover section. The cover section can be arranged on a series of containers. In other words, the cover section can cover the tops of the containers arranged in a row. The row of containers typically runs in a straight line. The row comprises at least two containers. Typically, the row comprises at most six, and in particular, at most five containers. For example, the row may comprise three containers.
[0012] The cover section has two fixing sections. These fixing sections are positioned opposite each other on the cover section. In other words, the fixing sections are located on opposite sides of the cover section. The fixing sections run along the row of containers when these are held in the holding fixture obtained from the blank. Each fixing section is connected to the cover section by a fold line. The fold lines may each comprise several separate sections. Each fold line typically extends in a straight line to allow the respective fixing section to be angled relative to the cover section. The fold lines may be formed with indentations, perforations, and / or scoring. The fold lines may be combined creasing and cutting lines.
[0013] According to the invention, straight main cutting lines, running parallel and offset from the fold lines, form retaining edges for engaging the beaded edges of the containers at the fixing sections. The main cutting lines run between the cover section and the respective fixing section. The main cutting lines partially separate the cover section and the fixing sections from each other. The main cutting lines are typically offset outwards relative to the fold lines with respect to the row of containers. When a holding device obtained from the blank is placed on the containers, the retaining edges engage the beaded edges of the containers, while the cover section rests on the top of the containers, typically directly on the beaded edges. By positioning the cover sections and the retaining edges on different sides (namely, top and bottom with respect to a usual position of use or storage of the containers) on the containers, respectively, the retaining edges are secured. The containers are held immovably on the holding device by their beaded edges resting against the container's longitudinal axes. Typically, two holding edges are positioned opposite each other with respect to the longitudinal axis of the container they hold. The straight course of the main cutting lines in the blank results in a defined contact between the holding edges and the beaded edges. In particular, the holding edges are diametrically opposed to each other in a locally confined contact zone on the beaded edge of the respective container. This near-point contact of the holding edges with the beaded edges in the respective contact zone allows for a comparatively strong locking of the containers onto the holding device. The containers are therefore held particularly securely. At the same time, the straight course of the main cutting lines ensures high stability of the fixing sections in the area of the holding edges, especially with regard to the load from the weight of the containers. The risk of buckling of the fixing sections is effectively reduced by the straight course of the main cutting lines in the cut. Furthermore, the locally limited contact zones form a pivot point around which the containers can be rotated to remove them from the holding device.
[0014] Preferably, the blank has two cover sections for mounting on a row of containers. Each row can, for example, comprise three containers, as described above. The cover sections, or the rows of containers, are generally parallel to each other. Opposite fixing sections are formed on each cover section, each connected to the respective cover section by a fold line. Straight main cutting lines, running parallel and offset from the fold lines, form retaining edges on the fixing sections for gripping the beaded edges of the containers. In other words, the blank can have two identical holding devices, each for a row of containers. Each holding device has one cover section and two fixing sections with retaining edges formed by straight main cutting lines.
[0015] Preferably, the central fixing sections, i.e., those running between the rows or cover sections, are connected to each other via a longitudinal fold line. This longitudinal fold line can be formed by indentations, perforations, and / or scoring. The longitudinal fold line allows the fixing sections adjacent to it to be angled relative to each other. This enables the containers of the two rows to be brought into contact with each other when the respective retaining edges are engaged under the beaded edges.
[0016] The longitudinal fold line can be interrupted by at least one, preferably oval, cutout. The cutout is preferably oval, particularly with its greatest extent along the longitudinal fold line. A cutout is particularly preferred between each of the main cutting lines opposite each other with respect to the longitudinal fold line. In the unfolded state of the blank, the at least one cutout allows the central fixing sections to penetrate deeper between the two rows of containers. The central fixing sections thus run at a steeper angle. This provides more stable lateral support for the containers. Furthermore, it facilitates the locking of the retaining edges at the bead edges. In particular, opposing containers of the two rows can touch each other in the area of the cutouts.
[0017] A handle opening can be provided in the area of the longitudinal fold line. The handle opening can be formed by crossed dividing lines. Preferably, the handle opening is arranged between two sections of the fold lines that are opposite each other with respect to the longitudinal fold line.
[0018] According to the invention, each of the two outer fixing sections is bordered by a contact section for contact with a lateral surface of the containers. If the blank has several cover sections, the outer fixing sections do not run between the rows or the cover sections. When a holding device derived from the blank is placed on the rows of containers, the contact sections prevent the containers from moving apart perpendicular to the rows. If the blank has only a single cover section, the two fixing sections are (inevitably) outer fixing sections with respect to the cover section or the single row. The fixing sections then stabilize the containers perpendicular to the direction of the row.
[0019] According to the invention, the system sections have tabs for connecting them to one another. These tabs allow one system section to be attached to another. The tabs of the two system sections can be glued or hooked together for this purpose. The connection between the system sections created by the tabs further stabilizes the holding device. The tabs can rest against the outer surfaces of the containers, thereby providing additional fixation. In particular, the tabs can prevent the containers from moving apart along the rows.
[0020] A bending line can run between the application sections and the fixing sections. The bending line can be formed by indentations, perforations, and / or scoring. The bending line can also be designed as a creasing line.
[0021] The bending line can be formed section by section with, in particular curved, punch lines. The punch lines are typically arranged at the level of the retaining edges; that is, the punch lines and the respective retaining edges are arranged along the rows at corresponding positions. The bending lines, and especially the punch lines, make it possible to bring the attachment sections into contact with the outer surfaces of the containers without affecting the locking of the retaining edges under the bead edges.
[0022] Preferably, the bending line is continuous and straight. In particular, the bending line can run parallel to the fold lines and the main cutting lines. A continuously straight bending line is easy to produce and can improve the alignment of the system sections with the outer surfaces of the containers.
[0023] According to the invention, at least one of the tabs has at least one contact hump formed on it. Preferably, at least one contact hump is formed on each tab. If a bending line is formed between the fixing section and the contact section, the contact hump projects beyond the bending line on the corresponding contact section towards the cover section. In the unfolded state, the contact hump can rest against the cover section. This prevents the holding device or parts of the holding device from slipping, especially if it only loosely rests against the containers it holds. In particular, it prevents the tabs from being pushed upwards towards the cover sections.
[0024] A notch can run between the mounting boss and the fixing section. This notch allows for easy separation of the fixing section from the mounting boss. The notch can originate from either endpoint of the bending line. Preferably, the notch is crescent-shaped when the blank is flat. This simplifies unfolding the blank into the holding device and can improve the alignment of the mounting section with the tab that carries the mounting boss against a container or assembly.
[0025] Pairs of scoring lines can be provided between the main cutting lines and the bending lines or the longitudinal fold line. Preferably, the scoring lines run parallel to each other and, in particular, perpendicular to the main cutting lines and the bending lines or the longitudinal fold line. Preferably, two opposing pairs of scoring lines are provided for each container. The scoring lines can further improve the locking of the retaining edges under the bead edges.
[0026] Auxiliary cutting lines can extend from the main cutting lines to the folding lines. These auxiliary cutting lines run between the cover section and the respective fixing section. They simplify the angling of the fixing sections relative to the cover section. Furthermore, guide edges formed by the auxiliary cutting lines can secure the containers along the rows on the fixing sections. These guide edges can rest against the bead edges of the containers. The guide edges and the fixing edges form separate functional sections for lateral guidance and holding of the containers, respectively. These separate functional sections can be optimized independently for their respective tasks.
[0027] At least one of the auxiliary cutting lines can be straight. At least one of the auxiliary cutting lines can be perpendicular to the corresponding main cutting line. This allows for particularly strong lateral guidance of the containers.
[0028] Alternatively or additionally, at least one of the auxiliary cutting lines can run at an angle to the corresponding main cutting line. This can facilitate the removal of the containers from the holding device obtained from the blank. The auxiliary cutting lines can be straight. The angle between the auxiliary cutting lines and the main cutting lines can be at least 120° and / or at most 150°. Alternatively, some or all of the auxiliary cutting lines can be curved.
[0029] In the fixing section, a first auxiliary fold line can be formed, originating at an end section of one of the fold lines and running diagonally to that section of the fold line. The end section of the fold line extends to a free edge of the blank. The first auxiliary fold line simplifies angling the fixing section relative to the cover section.
[0030] A second auxiliary fold line can be formed in the cover section, originating at an end section of one of the fold lines and running obliquely to it. Preferably, the first and second auxiliary fold lines originate at the same end section of the fold line. The first and second auxiliary fold lines can be designed for folding in opposite directions. The second auxiliary fold line can further improve the fit of the holding device obtained from the blank to the containers.
[0031] The first and / or the second auxiliary fold line may be formed with indentations, perforations and / or scorings.
[0032] The present invention also encompasses a holding device for containers, in particular cans. The holding device is obtained from a blank according to the invention as described above. To obtain the holding device, the blank is folded. The various fold and bend lines described above facilitate unfolding the blank into the holding device. The advantages described above can be utilized in the holding device according to the invention.
[0033] Finally, the present invention encompasses a container with a holding device according to the invention as described above, on which containers, in particular cans, are held, wherein the holding edges of the fixing sections engage under the beaded edges of the containers and the cover section(s) rest(s) on the containers, in particular on the beaded edges. The advantages described above can be utilized in this container. To fix the containers to the holding device, the blank can be folded completely or partially towards the holding device after the (flat or partially pre-folded) blank has been placed on the containers.
[0034] If the system sections have tabs for connecting them, these tabs can be fixed together, for example, by gluing them. This results in a particularly stable assembly. An adhesive can be applied between the tabs to bond them. Alternatively or additionally, adhesive tape can be applied to the tabs.
[0035] Further advantages of the invention will become apparent from the description and the drawing. According to the invention, the features mentioned above and those described in more detail below can each be used individually or in any suitable combination. The embodiments shown and described are not to be understood as an exhaustive list, but rather serve as examples for illustrating the invention. Detailed description of the invention and drawing
[0036] The invention is illustrated in the drawing and described with reference to exemplary embodiments. The drawing shows: Fig. 1 shows a blank from which a holding device for a container can be obtained, wherein the blank has straight main cutting lines which define holding edges for gripping the beaded edges of containers, in a schematic top view; Fig. 2 shows a container with six containers arranged in two rows, which are attached to the blank made from the Figure 1 are held by the retaining device, with the retaining edges engaging the beaded edges of the containers, in a schematic perspective view from an oblique angle above; Fig. 3 the container of Figure 2 in another schematic perspective view; Fig. 4 a partial side view of the container of Figure 2 with a view along the two rows; Fig. 5 a schematic detail view of the installation of one of the retaining edges on the underside of one of the bead edges of the bundle of Figure 2; Fig. 6 a blank according to the invention, from which a holding device according to the invention for a container according to the invention can be obtained, wherein the blank has support humps for supporting tabs on cover sections, in a schematic top view.
[0037] Figure 1 shows a cut 10. A holding device can be made from the cutout 10 by folding. 12 for containers 13 with a beaded edge 14 to be obtained, compare Figures 2 and 3 . Cut 10 consists of cellulose-containing material
[0038] Flat material, in this case cardboard. Cutout 10 is a single piece. The one in the Figures 1 to 3 The depicted cutout 10 illustrates features of cutouts according to the invention, but does not have all the features of a cutout according to the invention.
[0039] Cutout 10 has two cover sections. 16The deck sections 16 can each be placed in a row. 18 Three containers 13 are arranged from here. The two deck sections 16 extend parallel to each other.
[0040] Each of the deck sections 16 is bordered by two fixing sections. 20 The two fixing sections 20 belonging to a cover section 16 are arranged on opposite sides of the respective cover section 16. The cover sections 16 and the respective fixing sections 20 are each connected by a fold line. 22 connected to each other. The fold line 22 can be embossed into the flat material and / or obtained by partial perforation of the flat material. The fold lines 22 each extend in a straight line and are all parallel to each other. The two middle fixing sections 20, i.e., those running between the two rows 18, are connected by a longitudinal fold line. 23 interconnected.
[0041] The fold lines 22 are divided into several sections. A straight main cutting line runs between each section of the fold lines 22. 24 in the blank 10. The main cutting lines 24 completely sever the flat material of the blank 10. The main cutting lines 24 are directly adjacent to the cover sections 16 on one side and directly adjacent to the fixing sections 20 on the other. The main cutting lines 24 are offset from the fold lines 22, namely outwards from the respective row 18 of the containers 13. The main cutting lines 24 each run straight and parallel to the fold lines 22.
[0042] From the main section lines 24, auxiliary section lines extend 26, 28, 30The auxiliary cutting lines 26, 28, and 30 are directly adjacent to the cover sections 16 on one side and directly adjacent to the fixing sections 20 on the other. The auxiliary cutting lines 26 at the two middle fixing sections 20 are straight. The auxiliary cutting lines 26 may run at right angles to the main cutting lines 24 and the folding lines 22. The auxiliary cutting lines 28 at the outer fixing sections 20 are also straight. The auxiliary cutting lines 28 run obliquely to the main cutting lines 24 and the folding lines 22. The auxiliary cutting lines 30 at the outer fixing sections 20 are curved. The auxiliary cutting lines 28 and 30 may each have extensions that extend essentially perpendicular to the auxiliary cutting lines 28 and 30.
[0043] Each of the two outer fixing sections 20 is bordered by a planting section. 32The system sections 32 and the fixing sections 20 are each located on a bending line. 34 interconnected. The bending line 34 can be embossed into the flat material. In the illustrated embodiment, the bending line 34 has segmentally curved punch lines. 36 The punching lines 36 can partially or completely penetrate the flat material. The punching lines 36 are arranged at the level of the main cutting lines 24.
[0044] The plant sections 32 each have a tab at both ends. 38 The tabs 38 project in the direction of the rows 18 over the cover sections 16 and the fixing sections 20 when the blank 10 is in its flat state. The two tabs 38 arranged at the same ends of the rows 18 can be connected to each other to stabilize the holding device 12 obtained from the blank 10.
[0045] At terminal sections of the outer fold lines 22, i.e., sections extending to free edges of the blank 10, a first auxiliary fold line is to be made. 40 and a second auxiliary fold line 42 The auxiliary fold lines 40 and 42 each run diagonally to the fold lines 22. The first auxiliary fold lines 40 are located in the fixing sections 20. The second auxiliary fold lines 42 are located in the cover sections 16.
[0046] To enter the Figures 2 and 3 shown container 44To obtain the desired shape, the blank is placed onto the containers 13 arranged in rows 18. The cover sections 16 rest on the top of the containers 13. In the illustrated embodiment, the cover sections 16 rest directly on the beaded edges 14 of the containers 13. The middle fixing sections 20 are then pressed downwards along the longitudinal fold line 23, between the containers 13. A tool (not shown) can be used for this purpose. In addition, the outer fixing sections 20 and the contact sections 32 are pressed downwards. The contact sections 32 are thereby pressed against the outer surfaces. 46 Container 13 is brought to the system. Finally, the tabs 38 are attached to each other, in this case by gluing. The tabs 38 are also attached to the outer surfaces 46 of container 13.
[0047] The containers 13 are essentially cylindrical. Below the beaded edges 14, the outer surfaces 46 may be conically tapered. The beaded edges 14 project radially beyond the outer surfaces 46.
[0048] By angling the fixing sections 20 relative to the cover sections 16, the cutout 10 opens at the main cutting lines 24 and the auxiliary cutting lines 26, 28, 30. Holding edges are formed at the fixing sections 20 by the main cutting lines 24. 48 defined. The retaining edges 48 engage under the bead edges 14, see also Figures 4 and 5 .The holding device 12 is thereby locked onto the containers 13. The containers 13 are thus fixed to the holding device 12. Displacement of the containers 13 relative to the holding device 12 is prevented with respect to a longitudinal axis: upwards by the upper contact of the cover sections 16 with the beaded edges 14, and downwards by the contact of the retaining edges 48 with the beaded edges 14 on their underside. Due to the curvature of the outer surfaces 46 of the containers 13 about their respective longitudinal axes and the inclined course of the fixing sections 20 with respect to the cover sections 16 and the longitudinal axes of the containers, the retaining edges 48 bear against the beaded edges 14 only at their midpoints.
[0049] The auxiliary cutting lines 26, 28, 30 each extend across the bead edges 14. Guide edges formed by the auxiliary cutting lines 26, 28, 30 at the fixing sections. 50by their placement on the beaded edges 14, the containers 13 are fixed along the rows 18, compare Figure 3 .
[0050] At the corners of the holding device 12, corner areas of the cover sections 20 are bent downwards along the second auxiliary fold lines 42. The first auxiliary fold lines 40 and the terminal sections of the fold lines 22 make it possible to fold corner areas of the fixing sections 20 under the corner areas of the cover sections 20, see in particular Figure 3 This improves, on the one hand, the positioning of the plant sections 32 with the tabs 38 on the outer surfaces 46. On the other hand, it stabilizes the holding device 12.
[0051] Figure 6 shows a cut according to the invention 10. The cut 10 of Figure 6 In terms of structure and function, it essentially corresponds to section 10 of Figure 1The differences are described primarily below. For further details, please refer to the preceding description. A holding device according to the invention for two rows 18 of containers 13 with a beaded rim 14 can be obtained from the blank 10 by folding in a corresponding manner. The blank 10 of Figure 6 It consists of cellulose-containing flat material, in this case cardboard, and is entirely in one piece.
[0052] Main cutting lines 24 and fold lines 22, where cover sections 16 border fixing sections 20, also run straight and parallel to each other. Auxiliary cutting lines 26 and 30 run obliquely to the main cutting lines 24 and the fold lines 22. The auxiliary cutting lines 26 can run straight. The auxiliary cutting lines 30 can run curved.
[0053] Along a straight, continuous bending line 34, the outer fixing sections 20 each border a mounting section 32. The mounting sections 32 each have a tab 38 at both ends. A notch runs between one of the tabs 38 and the adjacent fixing section 20. 52. The incisions 52 extend in a crescent shape from the endpoints of the bending lines 34.
[0054] Adjacent to the incisions 52, the tabs 38 exhibit attachment humps. 54 The tabs 38 of one of the plant sections 32 each also have an additional plant hump. 56 The support bosses 54, 56 project beyond the respective bending line 34 towards the respective deck section 16. When the blank 10 is unfolded into a holding device, the support bosses 54, 56 can support the tabs 38 on the deck sections 16.
[0055] The further attachment points 56 of the tabs 38 of one assembly section 32 can, in the unfolded state, partially overlap with the attachment points 54 of the tabs 38 of the other assembly section 32. It is understood that diagonally opposite tabs could each have a (first) attachment point and a further attachment point, with the other tab of each of the two assembly sections having only one (first) attachment point (not shown in detail).
[0056] The cut 10 of Figure 6 features cutouts 58 in the area of a longitudinal fold line 23 between the central fixing sections 20. The cutouts 58 can extend along the longitudinal fold line 23 and can be oval in shape. The cutouts 58 form openings in the material of the blank 10. It is understood that the cutouts 58 can be obtained by any separation process, for example, punching or cutting.
[0057] Furthermore, dividing lines 60 provided in the area of the longitudinal fold line 23. The dividing lines 60 can run intersecting. A handle opening can be created by bending over the material adjacent to the dividing lines 60. 62 The handle opening 62 can be obtained by bending edges. 64 be limited.
[0058] The blank 10 may be indented at the free ends of the longitudinal fold line 23. As in Figure 6 As an example, the blank 10 can be drawn in in a V-shape at the free ends of the longitudinal fold line 23. Alternatively, the blank 10 can be drawn in with a rounded shape at the free ends of the longitudinal fold line 23, see figure. Figure 1 .
[0059] Between the main cutting lines 24 and the bending lines 34 or the longitudinal fold line 23, there run 10 lines in the cut. Figure 6 Each set of two parallel scribe lines 66.The scoring lines 66 are aligned perpendicular to the main cutting lines 24 and the bending lines 24 or the longitudinal fold line 23.
[0060] In summary, the invention relates to a blank made of flat material. The blank has at least one cover section with two adjacent fixing sections. A fold line and main cutting lines run between the cover section and each of the fixing sections. The fold lines and the main cutting lines extend in straight lines and parallel to each other. The fold lines and the main cutting lines are offset from one another. The straight main cutting lines form retaining edges on the fixing sections. A holding device is obtained from the blank by folding. Containers with a beaded rim can be fixed to the holding device, thus creating a container. For this purpose, the retaining edges on the fixing sections engage under the beaded rims, bearing against them only locally. The cover sections cover the containers. Reference symbol list
