Description

[0001] The invention relates to a valve upper part according to claim 1.

[0002] Such a valve bonnet is known from GB 2 137 736 A. The valve bonnet is used to control the outlet of media from fittings. For this purpose, the valve bonnet is screwed into the housing of a fitting by means of its headpiece; a rotary handle or lever is attached to its spindle. To control the flow, a valve stem is provided, which can be moved linearly within the headpiece via the spindle. To seal against the valve seat, the valve stem accommodates a disc that is attached to the valve stem via a nut or a molded-on mushroom head and is provided with a bore that allows backwashing of the disc, whereby the disc and a surrounding sealing ring are pressed against the valve seat. Further valve bonnets are described in DE 20 2011 109 263 U and US 2016139606A1.

[0003] The disadvantage of the previously known valve head is that the manufacture of the disc and its assembly are very complex. Drilling the hole required for the backwash system requires an additional step, which impairs the process flow during mass production of such valve heads.

[0004] To overcome this disadvantage, DE 20 2008 014 555 U1 proposes providing a hole instead of the bore, which is designed to create at least one through-hole between the mandrel and the disc. This structurally simple solution has proven successful in practice. However, it has been found that standing water can accumulate in the space between the disc and the valve body, which can lead to deposits or microbial contamination.

[0005] The invention aims to remedy this situation. The invention is based on the object of creating a valve head of the aforementioned type in which the manufacture and assembly of the disc is simplified and in which standing water between the disc and the valve body is effectively prevented. According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

[0006] The invention provides a valve upper part that simplifies the manufacture and assembly of the disc and effectively prevents standing water between the disc and the valve body. By providing at least two circumferentially spaced openings in the disc, radially spaced from the bore, a flow is achieved, thereby preventing standing water.

[0007] In a further development of the invention, an annular spacer is formed on the disc on the side facing the headpiece, surrounding the bore. This prevents the disc from coming into contact with the valve body during fastening, which would prevent backwashing of the disc. The shoulder enables continuous backwashing of the disc. The spacer advantageously has a truncated cone-shaped outer surface.

[0008] In one embodiment of the invention, the bases of the trapezoidal openings are formed in the shape of a circular arc, with these bases lying on two imaginary concentric circular arcs. This creates turbulence within the space between the valve body and the disc, thereby supporting continuous water exchange. The openings are preferably identical in design.

[0009] In a further embodiment of the invention, the bases of two adjacent trapezoidal openings are wider than their distance from each other in the circumferential direction (i.e., circumferentially around the mandrel). This maximizes the water flow in the space between the valve body and the disc.

[0010] In a further embodiment of the invention, two adjacent passage openings each define a substantially rectangular web. Preferably, the passage openings form two concentric circular rings, which are connected to each other via webs that are preferably arranged evenly around each other. This achieves improved water turbulence in the space between the valve body and the disc, further supporting water exchange.

[0011] In a further development of the invention, the inner annular body merges into the sleeve-shaped connecting piece, which projects axially beyond the outer annular body in the direction opposite to the valve body. This enables axial fixation directed toward the inner annular body. Advantageously, the inner annular body merges into the annular spacer, which projects beyond the outer annular body in the direction opposite to the valve body.

[0012] In one embodiment of the invention, axial ribs are arranged on the sleeve-shaped connecting piece, each of which merges into one of the webs. This ensures a water supply to the passage openings that is directed orthogonally to the disc.

[0013] In a further embodiment of the invention, the valve body's mandrel has a preferably truncated cone-shaped locking head at its end, the maximum outer diameter of which is larger than the inner diameter of the disc's bore. This allows for simple, tool-free attachment of the disc to the valve body. Alternatively, the valve body's mandrel can also have an external thread onto which a fastening nut is screwed for axial fixation of the disc.

[0014] The disc is preferably made of plastic. This allows for cost-effective production. Furthermore, the elastic material facilitates mounting the disc on the mounting mandrel using a locking head.

[0015] Other embodiments and developments of the invention are specified in the remaining subclaims. An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawing and described in detail below. They show: Fig. 1 the representation of a valve upper part partly in view, partly in axial section; Fig. 2 the representation of the valve body of the valve upper part from Figure 1 with mounted disc and sealing ring partly in view, partly in axial section; Fig. 3 the spatial representation of the valve body from Figure 2 a) in a view from below; b) in longitudinal section; Fig. 4 the representation of the valve body from Figure 2 (without disc and sealing ring) a) in longitudinal section; b) in plan view; Fig. 5 the disc of the valve upper part from Figure 1a) in a spatial representation from below; b) in a spatial representation in longitudinal section; c) in partial section; d) in plan view; Fig. 6 the representation of the valve body from Figure 2 with mounted disc and sealing ring with indicated valve seat.

[0016] The valve upper part chosen as an exemplary embodiment has a head piece 1, through which a spindle 2 is guided radially. A valve body 3 can be actuated via the spindle 2 and engages with the valve seat 61 of the housing 6. The valve body 3 is formed by a substantially cylindrical plunger that accommodates a disc 4 surrounded by a sealing ring 5, with the disc 4 and sealing ring 5 engaging with the valve seat 61 of the housing 6.

[0017] The headpiece 1 consists of a symmetrical hollow body with both open faces. On the side facing away from the housing 6, the headpiece has a sleeve-like part 11. A stop 12 for the valve body 3 is formed around the inside of the part 11. At its end facing the housing 6, the headpiece 1 is provided with a connecting thread 13 on the outside. Using the connecting thread 13, the headpiece 1 can be screwed into the housing 6 of the valve.

[0018] After screwing in, a screw-in collar 14 of the head piece 1 rests on the housing 6 of the fitting. The screw-in collar 14 has an annular groove 15 on its side facing the connecting thread 13 for receiving an O-ring 71. Screwing into the fitting is achieved by means of an external polygon 16, which is arranged on the side of the screw-in collar 14 facing away from the connecting thread 13. This part of the head piece 1 can be provided on the outside - as shown - with an additional thread 17 for receiving a sleeve - not shown. At the level of the screw-in collar 14 and the thread 17, the sleeve-like part 11 of the head piece 1 is provided on the inside with a hexagon socket 18.

[0019] The spindle 2 is essentially solid. On the side facing away from the head piece 1, it is designed on the outside as an external polygon 21 and on the inside is provided with a blind hole 22 with an internal thread for attaching a rotary handle (not shown). A cylindrical surface 23 is provided on the outside of the spindle 2, with which the spindle 2 is radially guided in the head piece 1. An annular groove 24 for receiving an O-ring 72 is provided in the cylindrical surface 23. The O-ring 72 seals the spindle 2 against the head piece 1. Between the cylindrical surface 23 and the external polygon 21, a recess 25 is arranged, into which a shaft lock 73 in the form of a snap ring is resiliently inserted. The shaft lock 73 prevents the spindle 2 from penetrating the head piece 1 beyond the intended extent.

[0020] The spindle 2 is rotatable within the headpiece 1. On its side opposite the external polygon 21, the spindle 2 has an external thread 26. A screw-in collar 27 is formed above the external thread 26.

[0021] The valve body 3 is designed in the manner of a cylindrical stamp. It is formed by a hollow cylindrical part 31, to which an enlarged-diameter extension part 32 is connected. The extension part 32 has, at its end facing away from the hollow cylindrical part 31, a circumferential edge 33 provided with an internal radius 34. A cylindrical receiving mandrel 35 is formed in the center of the circumferential edge 33, which has a locking head 36 at its end. On the side facing away from the extension part 32, two shoulders 37 are formed circumferentially on the hollow cylindrical part 31, spaced apart from one another, which serve to receive an O-ring 75. At its end facing away from the extension part 32, an external hexagon 38 (not shown in the drawing) is formed on the hollow cylindrical part 31. The external hexagon 38 corresponds to the internal hexagon 18 of the head piece 1 and serves to prevent the valve body 3 from rotating within the head piece 1.The hollow cylindrical part 31 is provided with an internal thread 39 on the inside.

[0022] The disc 4 is essentially frustoconical. A bore 41 is formed centrally in the disc 4, which merges into the cylindrical passage of an annular spacer 43 arranged on the disc 4. Six identical passage openings 42 are formed in the disc 4, radially spaced from the bore 41 and evenly spaced from one another around the circumference. The passage openings 42 are trapezoidal in shape, with their bases 421 being shaped like circular arcs and lying on two imaginary circular arcs arranged concentrically to one another. Between the passage openings 42, essentially rectangular webs 44 are delimited by these, forming an inner circular ring body 45 and an outer circular ring body 46 arranged concentrically to the latter, between which a spoke-like arrangement of webs 44 is present.

[0023] As particularly in Figure 5b) As can be seen, the inner annular body 45 merges into a sleeve-shaped end piece 47, on which axial ribs 471 are arranged on the outside, each of which merges into one of the webs 44. At their end opposite the outer annular body 46, the axial ribs 471 are beveled.

[0024] This arrangement of the passage openings 42 with the annular spacer 43, which is arranged on the inner annular body 45 and opposite the sleeve-shaped end piece 47 and has a truncated cone-shaped outer surface, ensures, when the valve body 3 is closed and rests against the valve seat 61 of the housing 6, a uniform water backwash of the disc 4 to achieve a uniform sealing pressure. In the open position of the valve body 3, the arrangement of the passage openings 42 ensures a continuous water exchange. This prevents the formation of standing water in the area of the seal 5.

[0025] The valve body 3 is inserted into the head piece 1 in such a way that the external hexagon 38 of the valve body 3 rests against the internal hexagon 18 of the head piece 1, whereby the valve body 3 is held securely in the head piece 1. The external thread 26 of the spindle 3 is screwed into the internal thread 39 of the valve body 3, whereby the spindle 2 is axially fixed within the head piece 1 via the shaft locks 73, 74. A rotation of the spindle 2 thus causes an axial movement of the valve body 3 within the head piece 1. This axial movement of the valve body 3 is limited by the stop 12 of the head piece 1, against which the upper shoulder 37 of the valve body 3 facing the thread 17 rests in the end position.

[0026] In the closed state of the valve upper part, in the opposite end position of the valve body 3, the extension part 32 rests against the valve seat 61 of the housing 6. The function of the sealing arrangement is shown in Figure 6, with the water pressure p being represented by arrows. The water, guided by the ribs 471 arranged on the sleeve-shaped connecting piece 47, penetrates through the passage openings 42 into the space between the valve body 3 and the disc 4, ensured by the spacer 43 of the disc 4, and presses laterally radially outward against the sealing ring 5, thereby supporting the sealing effect.

[0027] In the open position of the valve body 3, a constant exchange of water in the intermediate space is ensured by the passage openings 42 - six in the exemplary embodiment.

[0028] In Figure 6The locking head 36 of the receiving mandrel 35 of the valve body 3 is clearly visible, by means of which the disc 4 is fixed to the valve body 3. For fastening, the disc 4, which is made of plastic and has limited elasticity, is simply pushed onto the receiving mandrel 35 with its bore 41, the inner diameter of which is slightly smaller than the maximum outer diameter of the locking head 36, over the latter, after which it is axially fixed by the locking head 36 which subsequently projects beyond the bore 41.
