Check valve for a piston pump in a fluid circulation system

The invention relates to a check valve with a tubular valve housing in which a valve ball is received. To make a large flow cross section available and to prevent closure by the valve ball when the check valve is fully open, a perforated disk is press-fitted between longitudinally extending guide ribs of the valve housing and a circumferential wall of the valve housing there is an interstice as an outflow opening, which is not closed even the valve ball contacts the perforated disk. The valve housing is made by stamping, in which the guide ribs and a valve seat are made in one operation and are thereby aligned exactly with one another. Closure mechanism with integrated actuator for subsurface valves

A subsurface safety valve has a closure sleeve or rod mounted below the closure mechanism. Control signal pushes the sleeve up (uphole) or down (downhole), whichever is applicable, which causes the closure element to rotate (or slide, or otherwise translate) to its open position. A loss of control signal allows the closure spring to push the sleeve or rod downhole (or uphole, whichever is appropriate). This movement causes the closure element to be driven to its closed position against the seat.

Modular fluid flow system with integrated pump-purge

This disclosure describes a modular, monolithic pump-purge system which can be integrated into a modular, monolithic fluid handling system without creating a closed tolerance loop. In particular, the pump-purge system comprises a plurality of valves mounted on a modular and monolithic manifold which can be attached to the modular, monolithic fluid handling system. At least a portion, and preferably all of the fluid transfer conduits necessary for either applying a vacuum (or other evacuation means) to a fluid handling system conduit which is to be evacuated (pumped), or for transfer of flushing fluid within a conduit (purging) are present within monolithic manifolds of the fluid handling system. The modular, monolithic manifold of the pump-purge system contains openings and fluid flow conduits which correspond with openings and fluid flow conduits of the modular, monolithic fluid handling system, to enable evacuation or flushing of a selected fluid flow conduit within the fluid handling system. To avoid the formation of a closed tolerance loop, it is necessary that the pump-purge manifold or a portion of the modular, monolithic fluid handling system manifold to which it is attached be sufficiently free-floating to permit making of all necessary connections without creating stress which can lead to an increased rate of corrosion or failure of the connection. In a preferred embodiment gas handling system, the gas handling flow lines which make up the system are comprised of individual sticks of gas handling elements, each of which is attached to the manifold of the pump-purge system so that it is free-floating.

Systems and methods that optimize row level database security

The systems and methods of the present invention facilitate database row-level security by utilizing SQL extensions to create and associate named security expressions with a query initiator(s). Such expressions include Boolean expressions, which must be satisfied by a row of data in order for that data to be made accessible to the query initiator. In general, a query is augmented with security expressions, which are aggregated and utilized during querying rows of data. The systems and methods variously place security expressions within a query in order to optimize query performance while mitigating information leaks. This is achieved by tagging security expressions as special and utilizing rules of predicate to pull or push non-security expressions above or below security expressions, depending on the likelihood of a non-security being safe, as determined via a static and / or dynamic analysis.

Automatic speech recognition learning using user corrections

An automatic speech recognition system recognizes user changes to dictated text and infers whether such changes result from the user changing his / her mind, or whether such changes are a result of a recognition error. If a recognition error is detected, the system uses the type of user correction to modify itself to reduce the chance that such recognition error will occur again. Accordingly, the system and methods provide for significant speech recognition learning with little or no additional user interaction.
