Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a dry separation toilet according to claim 1. Such sanitary facilities are usually used in the field of mobile accommodation, in particular in caravans and mobile homes.
[0002] Dry separation toilets, in which liquids and solids are collected separately, are familiar to experts. However, these have the structural disadvantage that compatibility between the existing space in the mobile accommodation and the dry separation toilet is severely limited. The free alignment of the dry separation toilet during installation in the designated area is limited, for example, due to the dry separation toilet's connection to a drain opening accessible via a flap.
[0003] Although solutions are known in which a separate urine drainage is provided via a tube into a separate container, these have the disadvantage that this can, on the one hand, restrict the rotation of the seat part and, on the other hand, tends to prevent the urine from being completely drained into the container provided for it due to local depressions.
[0004] EP 4 023 124 A1 is directed to a cassette dry separation toilet comprising a housing, a seat bowl part, and a cassette located thereunder in a cassette receiving space of the housing, wherein the seat bowl part (2) is composed of a front urine collection section (4) with an outlet opening (6) and a rear feces receiving section (8) with upper and lower openings, the cassette being a container assembly (20) designed to be accommodated in the cassette receiving space and containing a feces container (22) with an upper opening (24) and a urine tank (28), wherein the container assembly (20) is designed such that, after its introduction into the cassette receiving space, the upper opening (24) of the feces container (22) lies below the lower opening (10) of the feces receiving section (8),The container assembly (20) is designed as an integral component or as a unit comprising a detachably connected feces container (22) and a urine tank (28), and a hose connects the outlet opening (6) of the urine collection section of the seat bowl part (2) to a tank opening (30) of the urine tank (28). Free rotation of the seat part is not provided and is also unsuitable for the disclosed embodiment, as the hose connection to the urine tank restricts this. Furthermore, it is considered disadvantageous that a hose tends to incompletely drain urine by forming local depressions, which can lead to additional odor nuisance.
[0005] EP 90306719.7 / DE 69002 704 T2 relates to a chemical toilet comprising a seat with a single downward-facing opening for the discharge of excreta and a single tank located below it for collecting the same. Although the seat is designed to be rotatable, the problem of reliably and separately discharging solids and urine is not fundamentally described.
[0006] There is no contribution to a solution for the reliable separate removal of excreta in a freely rotating seat section.
[0007] DE 2458620 C2 describes a toilet device for collecting and storing feces, waste, etc., comprising a housing (3, 18) on which a seat is located, beneath which a toilet bowl (6) with a through-opening (16) and at least one collecting container (4) are arranged, wherein a flat rotating body (2) which is arranged in the upper part of the collecting container (4) below the through-opening (16) in the base of the toilet bowl (6) and is dimensioned such that it covers the view through the through-opening (16), and which can be set in rotation by a drive device such that it processes the applied feces, waste, etc. and conveys them in a corresponding distribution into the collecting container (4). Here, too, solids and urine are transferred together through an opening into a collecting container, wherein the urine is subsequently separated from the solids and evaporated by heating elements.
[0008] US2020 / 008632 A1 proposes a waterless toilet that separates liquid waste from solid waste. The toilet has a front section, which is a urinal, and a rear section, which is a chute with a hole.
[0009] A dry separation toilet as described here with a separate opening for urine, under which an annular channel is provided, via which the urine can be drained into a container separate from the solids, reliably and independently of the rotational position of the seat part relative to the base of the toilet, is not mentioned in any of the documents.
[0010] This often means that the comfort of sitting on the dry separation toilet can be severely limited.
[0011] The present invention aims to remedy this disadvantage.
[0012] The inventive solution to this problem consists in providing a dry separation toilet with a seat part with a support element, wherein the seat part has two spatially separated and downwardly extending openings on an underside for the separate transfer of feces, and with a lower part, above which the seat part is mounted so as to be rotatable about a vertical axis of rotation. The lower part has at least one first collecting container which is connected to the first opening of the seat part for receiving solids, wherein a lower end of the second opening is displaceable along a circular path about the vertical axis and wherein a channel extending at least partially along the circular path is provided below the lower end of the second opening. This channel has an outlet on at least one side to a second collecting container for the separate collection of liquids.
[0013] It can be seen that the invention is at least realized when a seat part is mounted so as to be rotatable relative to a lower part, and a separate drain for liquids is provided in the lower part. This drain is modeled, in terms of its geometry, on the path of movement of an opening in the seat part during a rotational movement of the seat part.
[0014] Preferred embodiments are specified in the dependent claims.
[0015] According to a further development of the present invention, it can be provided that the seat part is mounted so as to be rotatable about the rotation axis by at least 60°, preferably at least 90°, particularly preferably at least 120°, at least 180° or 360°.
[0016] Depending on the existing spatial conditions in the mobile accommodation, even a partial rotation of the seat part may be sufficient to significantly increase comfort for a user. Particularly when the dry separation toilet according to the invention is arranged in a corner of a room, it may be sufficient to provide the seat part with a rotation of approximately 90° or less, i.e., from a maximum of being parallel to a wall to a maximum of being parallel to the adjacent wall. Although increased rotation can in principle be provided, this would not represent an improvement in seating comfort in the example described above due to the orientation of the seat part relative to the intended walls.
[0017] According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the lower end of the second opening and the seat part perform their rotational movements around the vertical axis together. In principle, the seat part and the openings can be connected to one another or formed integrally. In principle, the openings can also be referred to as tubular sections having an upper and a lower end. The lower end points toward the first receiving container or the channel, and the upper ends point toward the seat element.
[0018] According to an expedient development of the present invention, at least the second opening is funnel-shaped and / or tapers towards its lower end. A particularly effective separation of liquid and solid can be achieved by directing the liquids into the channel via the second opening. The geometry described above can promote the drainage of liquids into the channel.
[0019] According to a particularly preferred embodiment of the present invention, the diameter of the lower end of the second opening is less than or equal to the width of the channel. In principle, it may be advantageous for the width of the channel and the diameter of the opening to be matched to one another. This can further improve the drainage of the liquid into the channel as an alternative or in addition to a tapered or funnel shape.
[0020] According to a particularly advantageous development of the present invention, the first opening extends substantially vertically. Since the first opening forms a connection to the first receptacle, in which solids can be conveniently collected, it may be advantageous to minimize contact between the solids and the opening as much as possible. A substantially vertical shape of the preferably tubular opening can reduce contact of the solids with the opening, which can significantly reduce the effort required to clean the seat part.
[0021] Preferably, the channel is provided with an incline, i.e., a slope or gradient, toward the drain. Since liquids can preferably be drained via the channel, the incline can contribute to the particularly reliable flow of the liquids from the channel into the drain. While this is not required for functionality, since liquids tend to remain at least partially in the channel when the channel is level, an incline of the channel can, in particular, prevent the formation of odors.
[0022] According to a further development of the present invention, the first opening can be separately closed. For this purpose, a flap can be provided, for example, which can be formed as part of the seat and allows the dry separation toilet to be used exclusively via the second opening, while the first opening is blocked by the flap. This can, in particular, prevent odors from escaping from the first collection container. Any desired closure element can be provided instead of a flap.
[0023] A further development of the present invention can consist in the first and second collecting containers being designed separately. Typically, the volumes of excreta in their liquid and solid portions are not necessarily equal. This can result in a different frequency in the emptying of the two collecting containers. Providing two separate collecting containers can facilitate the emptying of individual collecting containers.
[0024] According to an expedient development of the present invention, it can be provided that, in a sitting direction of the seat part, the first opening is arranged in a rear part and the second opening is arranged in a front part of the seat part. This basically corresponds to the anatomy of a user who sits on the seat part in the sitting direction. This reliably ensures the supply of excreted liquids through the second opening via the channel into the second collecting container, and the supply of solids through the first opening into the first collecting container.
[0025] The channel is annular, i.e., circular. In principle, however, it may be sufficient if the channel only describes a ring segment, which is preferably adapted to the size (circular path section) and orientation according to the rotational capability of the seat section, or at least to the rotational movement and its circular section that are appropriate for the proper use of the dry-separating toilet. Therefore, if the dry-separating toilet, when installed, is located in a corner of a room, as described above by way of example, and the seat section is only usable between the parallel orientations of the seat section to the two walls (90° rotation), the channel can also describe a circular path of approximately 90°. The part that may be required for the arrangement of the drain can be added to this circular path section.
[0026] According to a particularly preferred development of the present invention, the outlet can be provided in a beak-like manner toward the second receiving container and / or tapers toward an opening of the second receiving container. By keeping the opening of the second collecting container as small as possible, the escape of odors from the second collecting container can be significantly reduced. A correspondingly adapted outlet, which can specifically discharge the fluids into a small opening, can thus serve to reliably transfer the fluids from the channel into the collecting container.
[0027] It can expediently be provided that the channel is arranged on the outside and / or on an upper side of the lower part or of the first receiving container. In principle, the channel can be in contact with the first receiving container or can be arranged on it, since the alignment of the two openings in the seat part to one another can also determine the alignment of the channel and the first collecting container to one another. For this purpose, the channel can either be formed integrally with the first collecting container or can be arranged on it, for example, plugged on. In principle, however, it is conceivable that the channel can be arranged independently of the first receiving container on or in the lower part itself, for example on a housing structure of the lower part, which can enable removal of the first collecting container independently of the channel.
[0028] Preferably, it can be provided that the first opening is arranged in a plan view within the circular path (which is described by the rotational movement of the second opening) and / or in a plan view within the ring (segment) shape described by the groove.
[0029] It may be expedient for the gutter to be designed as an attachment to the first collecting container.
[0030] According to an expedient development of the present invention, it is provided that the collecting container is arranged below the first opening.
[0031] The special property of the channel according to the invention can be described by at least one of the following attributes: The channel can be stationary. The channel can be static. The channel can be arranged along a periphery of the lower part, in particular of the first collection container. The channel can be arranged along a periphery of the first collection container. The channel preferably enables the urine to be discharged via a drain to a separate collection container (urine container) without requiring a hose for connection.
[0032] The drain opening of the channel can be positioned directly above an opening in the urinal container. This allows for separate drainage of feces and urine. The channel preferably allows urine to be drained directly to / into an opening in the urinal container.
[0033] The present invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. They show: Figure 1 is a cross-sectional view through an embodiment of the present invention, Figure 2 is an exploded perspective view of the embodiment according to Figure 1 and Figure 3 shows a plan view of an embodiment of the channel and the second collecting container of the dry separation toilet.
[0034] Figure 1shows a cross-sectional view of an embodiment of the dry separation toilet according to the invention with a base body 1, which can also be referred to as the lower part. A solids container 4, which can also be referred to as the first collecting container, can be arranged in the base body. The seat part, which can have a separating insert tray 2, for example, can be arranged above the collecting container. The seat part can also be designed as a separating insert tray. To close the dry separation toilet, a lid 3 can be provided, which can completely cover the two openings in the seat part. To close the opening leading to the solids container 4, a privacy flap 9 can be provided, which can be operated independently of a lid 3. The opening in the seat part leading to the solids container 4 can also be referred to as the first opening and is preferably aligned vertically. The second opening in the seat part, which can preferably be provided for receiving and conveying liquids, such as urine, is preferably designed to taper downwards. A channel 12, which can also be referred to as an attachment ring, can be provided below the second opening. This channel 12 allows liquids to drain toward a further collecting container 5, which can also be referred to as a urine container.
[0035] The seat part can generally be mounted rotatably relative to a substructure, in particular the base body 1 and / or the solids container 4. For this purpose, a rotating bracket 11 can be provided, on which the seat part can rest. The rotating bracket is preferably provided on the base body or the solids container 4.
[0036] The drainage channel 12 is arranged opposite the lower end of the second opening such that, during a rotational movement of the seat part, the lower end of the second opening is always located above the channel. The drainage channel can be provided with an incline, via which the fluid can be drained particularly reliably into the second collecting container 5.
[0037] In the example after Figure 1The dry separation toilet according to the invention is arranged on a side wall 6, into which at least one of the collecting containers can protrude via an opening in the side wall 6. Additionally or alternatively, a closable opening can be provided on the side wall 6, through which the collecting containers can be accessed from a rear side of the side wall. For secure installation of the dry separation toilet, the seat part and the base body can be fastened to a base plate 10, which can serve as an installation base in a designated area of a mobile accommodation, such as a camper van.
[0038] Figure 2shows an exploded view of the seat part opposite the channel 12 and the collecting container, from which it is particularly clearly visible how the lower end of the second opening is preferably arranged in a beak-shaped manner above the channel 12 and is always provided above the channel during a rotational movement of the seat part relative to the channel or the collecting container 4. For this purpose, regardless of the horizontal orientation of the seat part relative to the channel, a reliable drainage of fluids via the second opening into the channel is always possible. The channel 12 has at least one drainage opening 13, which can also be referred to as a drain. Via this drainage opening, the fluid can be drained into the second receiving container 5, i.e. the urine container, via a preferably small opening in the same.
[0039] According to the plan view Figure 3the preferably circular channel 12 with its outflow opening 13 is arranged opposite the second collecting container so that the outflow 13 is located above the opening of the second collecting container 5. List of reference symbols
