Description
I. Area of application
[0001] The invention relates to self-service shelves in supermarkets. II . Technical background
[0002] The shelves of self-service shelving systems in supermarkets usually end at the free front end, facing the customer, with a front strip that typically protrudes slightly above and / or below the shelf and whose front surface may also be slightly inclined to the vertical.
[0003] A common method of attaching price tags to such a shelf is to clip a C-shaped price strip made of transparent plastic over the front strip, which extends essentially the entire length of the shelf, i.e. the front strip.
[0004] For the purposes of the present invention, clipping or clipping on means attaching with positive locking, wherein the locking is made possible by utilizing the material elasticity of one of the two components being locked together.
[0005] Since the material of the price strip is transparent, the price tags for the individual products can simply be inserted into the interior of the C-shape of the price strip at the correct longitudinal position beforehand, and then the price strip can be clipped on and are readable for the customer through the transparent price strip.
[0006] However, there is an additional need, usually only for a limited time, to attach an advertising sign for a specific item, i.e., at a specific longitudinal position along the shelf and its front edge, which then, for example, protrudes slightly beyond the shelf front towards the customer in the form of an advertising sign and therefore has an increased attention value.
[0007] To attach such an advertising sign to the desired position, advertising holders are available that can be attached to the shelf, for example its underside, or to the front edge of the shelf.
[0008] However, the solutions known so far are complex in terms of assembly, for example requiring tools to screw the advertising holder to the shelf and / or they have the disadvantage that they at least partially obscure a price tag located in the same longitudinal position on the front strip of the shelf.
[0009] From DE 20 2010 002 341 U1, an information sign usable as an advertising holder for attachment to a shelf of a sales shelf is known, wherein the information sign has the features of the preamble of claim 1.
[0010] US Patent 4,545,140 A discloses a device for displaying a two-dimensional sign, which can be used for advertising purposes in retail stores. The device comprises two transparent elements that can be clipped onto one another. A sign in the form of a graphic product can be positioned between these elements and displayed using the device. The device can be attached to a suitable surface using adhesive.
[0011] US Patent 5,682,698 A discloses a sign holder that can be hung in display shelves with C-shaped channels at their front edges. The sign holder has a base panel with flaps folded over approximately 180° on two opposite sides. An information-bearing sign can be inserted between the base panel and the flaps. The sign is visible through the transparent base panel. III. Description of the invention a) Technical task
[0012] The object of the invention is therefore to provide an advertising holder for the shelf of a self-service shelf that can be positioned and mounted quickly and easily, in particular without tools, on the shelf, especially its front strip, and does not impair the visibility of the price tags on the front strip. b) Solution of the task
[0013] This problem is solved by the features of claims 1, 11 and 15. Advantageous embodiments are described in the dependent claims.
[0014] Regarding the Advertising holderThis task is solved by ensuring that the advertising holder – which comprises a fixing part for attaching it to a shelf and an advertising part for holding the advertising material, in particular an advertising sign – has a fixing part designed so that it can be attached without tools and / or very quickly, in particular in less than 30 seconds. The advertising holder should be attached to any longitudinal position on the front edge of the shelf of a retail display case, preferably directly to the front edge.
[0015] A price tag also attached to the front strip must not be covered by the advertising holder, in particular the fixing part, regardless of the price tag's longitudinal position relative to the fixing part.
[0016] This allows for very flexible use of the advertising holder as well as quick assembly and disassembly.
[0017] Additionally, the advertising holder can have a counterpart for its form-fitting fastening, i.e., in particular its fixing part, which fits form-fittingly onto a form-fitting section of the front strip of the shelf.
[0018] With regard to its cross-section viewed in the longitudinal direction when mounted, the holder counterpart section has a freely projecting holder end section at the top and / or bottom, wherein such a holder end section or the entire holder counterpart section has a concave inner contour with regard to its cross-section, which is based on a correspondingly dimensioned convex
[0019] The outer contour of the form-fitting section of the shelf's front strip fits.
[0020] If both the top and bottom have a holder end section with a concave inner contour, the entire holder counterpart section is usually C-shaped and can be clipped onto the front strip - which projects beyond the shelf with its upper and lower ends and convex outer circumference there - in a transverse direction to the spacing direction between the two end sections, by making the holder counterpart section of the fixing part sufficiently elastic for this purpose, especially in its two holder end sections.
[0021] Preferably, the fixing part has a preferably convex outer contour with respect to its cross-section viewed in the longitudinal direction and in particular concentric to its concave inner contour, wherein the thickness of the fixing part, i.e. the distance between inner contour and outer contour, is a maximum of 3 mm, better a maximum of 2.5 mm, better a maximum of 2 mm, better a maximum of 1.5 mm.
[0022] The outer contour of the fixing part, in particular the outer contour designed as described above, should extend longitudinally over the entire length of the fixing part, preferably with an unchanged outer contour.
[0023] By having at least one convex outer contour section with respect to its cross-section, i.e. viewed in the longitudinal direction, preferably having one convex outer contour section at the top and one at the bottom, the outer contour of the fixing part is preferably qualitatively like the outer contour of the front strip of the shelf, but quantitatively has larger dimensions by the thickness of the fixing part.
[0024] This allows a price strip with a concave inner contour, particularly a C-shaped cross-section, which is normally clipped directly onto the front strip, to be clipped onto the outer contour of the fixing part already clipped onto the front strip, provided that the dimensions and elasticity of the price strip allow this, which is usually the case given the small wall thickness of the fixing part between its inner and outer contours.
[0025] The fixing part, in particular its holder counterpart, is preferably designed such that the advertising holder, when attached to the front strip, can still be moved longitudinally along the front strip when clipped on, which is possible if the static friction between the fixing part and the front strip is correspondingly low, which can be achieved by appropriately dimensioning the fixing part and its surface finish on the inner contour.
[0026] This shifting should also be possible when the price strip is placed over the fixing part, especially when clipped on, so that the sum of the static friction of the fixing part against the front strip on the one hand and the price strip clipped over it on the other hand must not be too high in order to still allow manual shifting.
[0027] Preferably, the fixing part has a convex C-shaped outer contour from which nothing protrudes that makes it difficult or impossible to clip a price strip over it, the latter typically projecting far beyond the fixing part in the longitudinal direction on both sides and being snapped into place, i.e., clipped on, directly opposite the front strip away from the fixing part.
[0028] Since the purpose of the advertising holder is to position an advertising medium, such as an advertising sign, at a specific longitudinal position on a particular shelf, and it is often desirable for the advertising medium to project beyond the front of the sales shelf and thus be noticed from a distance by a customer walking along the shelves, the advertising part to which the advertising medium – which is of course interchangeable – is to be attached is, firstly, arranged away from the fixing part, preferably projecting forward over the shelf beyond the fixing part which is fixed to the shelf.
[0029] Therefore, a spacer connecting the two parts is usually present between the fixing part and the advertising part, with the entire advertising holder preferably being made in one piece and consisting of plastic.
[0030] In order to avoid negatively affecting the outer contour of the fixing part, the spacer extends from the lower or upper end of the cross-section of the holder counterpart, in particular the lower or upper holder end section, primarily somewhat in the depth direction to the rear or - if projecting from the lower end of the cross-section of the holder counterpart - directly downwards, in any case in such a way that the area of the convex outer contour of the fixing part which is required by its cross-sectional shape for clipping on the price list is completely preserved.
[0031] Preferably, the spacer extends from the lower holder end section to the rear and / or downwards, and from there forwards again by means of one or two unidirectional bends, with the free-ending support leg of the spacer pointing forwards, the support leg preferably running at a distance below the front strip and projecting freely forwards, and preferably projecting forwards over the fixing part and, in the mounted state, also over the front strip.
[0032] The advertising part of the advertising holder is located at the front free end of the support leg, which serves to attach an advertising medium, such as an advertising sign.
[0033] This advertising medium fastening system is designed to allow advertising material to be attached quickly and preferably without tools. Since the advertising material is usually a flat advertising sign, this fastening system is preferably designed to act by friction, for example by having a fastening fork open at the front and / or top, the prongs or legs of which are elastically designed so that an advertising sign can simply be inserted from above or from the front and is held in place by its clamping action.
[0034] Preferably, the advertising holder has two profile parts, namely, the fixing part is designed as a first profile running in the longitudinal direction, and the advertising material attachment is designed as a second profile running in a transverse direction to this, with the spacer part between the two profiles.
[0035] Regarding a sales shelf, which is equipped with such an advertising holder, the sales shelf initially has, as usual, a basic frame on which several shelves arranged at intervals above one another, on which the goods lie.
[0036] In this arrangement, a front strip with a cross-section typically runs along the front of each shelf, having at least one form-fitting form-fitting section, in particular a cross-sectional end section projecting above and below the thickness of the shelf, each with a convex outer contour.
[0037] This design allows a price list with a corresponding concave inner contour, in particular a C-shaped, elastic one made of transparent material, to be clipped onto it from the front, whereby the desired price tags can be inserted beforehand into the inner space of the concave inner contour at the corresponding longitudinal positions, which are then visible through the transparent price strip, but cannot be removed or moved by the customer, at least not without removing the price strip.
[0038] For this purpose, this price list includes a form-fitting counterpart section that fits the form-fitting section of the front strip, in particular with an upper and lower cross-sectional end section, so that it fits the convex outer contour of the front strip.
[0039] With regard to such a generic sales shelf, the task according to the inventionsolved by the fact that the advertising holder is designed according to one of the preceding claims, and with its concave inner contour and its form-fitting holder counterpart section fits onto the form-fitting section of the front strip in such a way that it can, in particular, be clipped onto it from the front.
[0040] In particular, the fixing part of the advertising holder has the same concave inner contour, viewed in the longitudinal direction, i.e. with regard to the cross-section, as the price strip.
[0041] For the advertising holder considered separately, the longitudinal direction is the direction in which the concave inner contour continues, i.e., the direction of this concave profile, which in the mounted state coincides with the longitudinal direction of the front strip of the shelf.
[0042] According to the invention, the price strip is attached to the front strip, in particular clipped on, and the fixing part of the advertising holder is arranged between the price strip and the front strip, in that the fixing part of the advertising holder is itself attached to the front strip, in particular clipped on, i.e. preferably directly on the front strip without any further intervening components, and the price strip is attached to the fixing part, in particular its convex outer contour, in particular clipped on.
[0043] This allows for very easy and quick assembly and disassembly.
[0044] On such a sales shelf, the price strip usually extends lengthwise essentially along the entire length of the front strip, while an advertising holder is usually only located at one point lengthwise on the front strip, and away from the advertising holder the price strip is then clipped directly onto the front strip again.
[0045] On the price strip, especially on its back, several price tags are usually arranged lengthwise or even attached to the back of the price strip, but are held in between after the price strip is clipped onto the front strip of the shelf.
[0046] If an advertising holder with its fixing part is located between the front strip and the price strip, then a price tag is located in this length range between the fixing part and the price strip, so that it remains visible and readable through the transparent price strip.
[0047] Above all, the price strip and the advertising holder should be designed in relation to the front strip, and thus especially the front strip, in such a way that the advertising holder can be moved longitudinally along the front strip between the front strip and the price strip, even when the price strip is attached to the front strip (i.e., clipped over it) and without removing the front strip.
[0048] This characteristic affects the dimensioning of these components, especially with regard to their cross-sections, and also the adhesive properties of the contact surfaces of these components that are in contact with each other.
[0049] The aim is to make it possible to move the advertising medium between the front strip and the price strip without moving the existing price tags, which is made possible in particular by appropriately designing the back of the price strip facing the shelf.
[0050] Regarding the procedureFor attaching and, in particular, positioning an advertising holder on the front rail of a shelf in a sales shelf as described and / or an advertising holder as described, the existing task is solved by first attaching the advertising holder with its fixing part to the front rail, preferably directly in the desired longitudinal position, in particular by clipping it on, and thus fixing it in a form-fitting manner in the transverse direction to the longitudinal direction.
[0051] Subsequently, a price strip – usually equipped with price tags on its back – is attached with its back facing over the outer contour of the fixing part located on the front strip, in particular clipped on and clipped away from this fixing part on the front strip.
[0052] Usually, only after this is the advertising holder fitted with an advertising sign or other advertising material by fixing it to the advertising material attachment of the advertising holder.
[0053] If necessary, if the advertising holder is not yet correctly positioned lengthwise, it can also be pushed lengthwise between the front strip and the price strip to the desired position. c) Examples of implementation
[0054] Embodiments according to the invention are described in more detail below by way of example. The figures show: Figure 1 :a well-known retail shelf with several shelves stacked on top of each other in perspective view, Figure 2a :the front end of such a shelf including front strip with a known 1st design of a price strip before it is attached, in perspective view, Figure 2b:the front end of such a shelf including front strip and a known second type of price strip before it is attached, in perspective view, Figure 3a :the front end of a shelf including front strip with a piece to be attached to it, along line III - III in Figure 4b Cut advertising holder and price strip to be placed over it in the unassembled state in perspective view, Figure 3b :the front end of a shelf including the front strip with the attached [item], according to Figure 3a cut, advertising holder and price strip clipped over it, Figure 4a :an entire advertising display in perspective view, Figure 4b :a top-down view of a single advertising display.
[0055] Figure 1Figure 1 shows a known design of a sales shelf 100, in which shelves 101 extend forwards from the rear wall 105a or rear vertical struts of a base frame 105, with which the sales shelf 100 is supported on the floor, spaced apart one above the other, for example cantilevering freely from the rear wall 105.
[0056] At their front end facing the customer, each shelf has a front strip 102, which runs lengthwise 10 along the entire length of the front edge of the shelf 101 in accordance with the direction of the shelf and is approximately plate-shaped.
[0057] The cross-section of the front strip 102, which is in particular elongated rectangular or slot-shaped, is usually not exactly vertical, but slopes slightly downwards from back to front towards the customer, and typically projects with its cross-section both upwards and downwards beyond the thickness of the shelf 101 and together with this upwardly projecting cross-sectional end section 102A and the downwardly projecting cross-sectional end section 102B forms a positive-locking section 102AB of the cross-section.
[0058] Because, like the Figures 2a , b As shown, a price strip 103 can be clipped onto this convex outer contour 102ABa of the form-fitting section 102AB by pressing it on from the front top and thus be held in a form-fitting manner.
[0059] The price strip 103 preferably extends in longitudinal direction 10 over the entire length of the front strip 102 and has a form-fitting counterpart section 103AB of its cross-section matching the form-fitting section 102AB with an inner contour 103ABi which, in the clipped-on state, sits essentially without play on the outer contour 102ABa, for which, of course, the price strip 103 must be designed to be correspondingly elastic with regard to its cross-sectional shape.
[0060] The positive locking counterpart 103AB is accordingly approximately C-shaped with a long, straight, middle section corresponding to the length of the front surface of the front strip 102 measured in the direction of the longitudinal extent of its cross-section.
[0061] Figure 2aFigure 1 shows the design of such a price strip 103 which is still most commonly used today, which, apart from the positive-locking counterpart section 103AB of its cross-section, preferably has no further cross-sectional sections, but is made of transparent material, usually transparent, elastic plastic.
[0062] This allows several price tags 104 to be inserted into the inner free space of the C-shape of the cross-section, especially on the back of its middle straight leg, distributed in longitudinal direction 10, before the price strip 103 is clipped onto the front strip 102, i.e. snapped into place in a form-fitting manner, and thus the price tags 104 are held in position in between, primarily in longitudinal direction 10.
[0063] In the vertical direction, they are primarily held in position by the corresponding dimension of the price tag 104, which corresponds approximately to the length of the middle straight leg of the cross-section of the price strip 103.
[0064] Figure 2b In contrast, a price strip 103 is shown, which, in addition to the approximately C-shaped positive-locking counterpart section 103AB, has a support section with respect to its cross-section, here in the form of two L-shaped guide strips 103F arranged along the middle straight leg on the side facing away from the inner contour 103ABi, spaced apart, which together form an undercut guide groove into which further objects can be inserted or glued, for example, as shown here, an electronic price tag 104* in the form of a digital display.
[0065] Nevertheless, this price strip 103 with its positive-locking counterpart 103AB can also be clipped onto the front strip 102 transversely to the direction of travel, i.e. transversely to the longitudinal direction 10, for example by placing one cross-sectional end section 103a on the upper end of the cross-section of the front strip 102 and then pivoting the price strip 103, viewed in the longitudinal direction 10, with the lower end of its cross-section against the front strip 102 until the lower cross-sectional end section 103B snaps over the lower cross-sectional end section 102B.
[0066] The Figures 3a , b show the use of an advertising holder 1 extending much shorter in the longitudinal direction 10 than the price strip 103 on such a front strip 102, wherein the advertising holder is not shown in its entirety, but cut along the line III - III, as in Figure 4b As shown: The advertising holder 1 includes - as best as in Figure 4ato be identified - a fixing part 2, with which it is attached to the front strip 102, and an advertising part 3, to which an advertising medium such as an advertising sign 9 can be interchangeably attached in order to advertise goods located in place of the advertising holder 1 in this or the shelf 101 below.
[0067] Between the fixing part 2 and the advertising part 3 there is a spacer part 4, and as a rule, the fixing part 2, spacer part 4 and advertising part 3 are manufactured together in one piece, usually injection-molded from plastic.
[0068] The fixing part 2 essentially consists of a holder counterpart 1AB which has essentially the same cross-sectional shape as the form-locking counterpart 103AB of the price strip 103 and, as described above, can be clipped onto the outer contour 102ABa from the front, i.e. transversely to the longitudinal direction 10, with its inner contour 1ABi.
[0069] The cross-section of the holder counterpart section 1AB has an outer contour 1ABa of its cross-section which runs approximately parallel to the inner contour 1ABi, from which no further cross-sectional sections project outwards.
[0070] Therefore, a price strip 103 designed as described above – after price tags 104 have been inserted into its inner concave space at the desired longitudinal positions – can be clipped over this outer contour 1ABa, which, due to its short length in the longitudinal direction 10 of the fixing part 2 of the advertising holder 1, protrudes on one side or usually also on both sides in the longitudinal direction 10 beyond this fixing part 2 and, due to its material elasticity, deforms elastically away from the fixing part 2 so that it lies directly against the outer contour 102ABa of the front strip 102.
[0071] The elasticity of the price strip 103 also allows it to be clipped over the thickness of the fixing part 2, which is a fixing part profile 6 running in the longitudinal direction 10, even though its outer contour is of the same quality but larger than the outer contour 102ABa of the front strip 102.
[0072] The wall thickness of the holder counterpart section 1AB between its inner contour 1ABi and its outer contour 1ABa should therefore be kept as small as possible.
[0073] From the free end of the cross-section of the fixing part profile 6, here the free end of the lower holder counterpart section 1B, extends in the clipped-on state according to Figure 3bThe spacer part 4 is initially extended essentially with a fixing leg 4c in the depth direction 11 along the underside of the shelf 101 slightly to the rear and then with a first bend with a connecting leg 4b downwards, so that no collision with the free lower end of the positive locking counterpart section 103AB, here the lower cross-sectional end section 103B, can occur and its snap-in is not hindered.
[0074] In the further course, the spacer part 4 extends, after a further bend with a support leg 4a, spaced from the lower end of the cross-section of the front strip 102 - spaced so far that clipping onto the lower cross-sectional end section 102B of the front strip by the price strip 103 is easily possible - under the front strip 102, to which the fixing part 2 is attached, forwards against the depth direction 12, so that the front end of the spacer part 4, and the advertising part 3, viewed in the depth direction 12, are preferably located in front, i.e. more towards the customer, than the price strip 102.
[0075] Depending on the application, the design of the spacer 4 can also be chosen so that the advertising part 3 is located directly below the front strip 102 or offset backwards from it, or in front of the front strip 102, but not lower in height, but at the same level or even above it.
[0076] The advertising part 3 essentially consists of an advertising material attachment 5, here in the form of an attachment fork 5 with two protruding and free-ending tines 5a, b, as shown in the top view of the Figure 4b to be identified on a single advertising holder 1.
[0077] In Figure 4b The prongs 5a, b are designed to diverge outwards at their free end in order to provide an insertion ramp for an advertising sign 9, for example, which is inserted from the front between the prongs 5a, b and is then held clamped between them due to the material elasticity of the two prongs 5a, b.
[0078] The fastening fork 5, which extends vertically 12 over a defined height, thus forms with its prongs 5a, b an advertising material profile 7, so that the entire advertising material holder 1 preferably consists essentially of a fixing part profile 6 extending in the longitudinal direction 10 and an advertising material profile extending transversely thereto - usually extending vertically 12 - wherein both profiles are elastically designed with respect to their open cross-section and are connected by a spacer part 4.
