[0001] The present invention relates to the field of construction, and in particular to panel railings such as glass panels. Specifically, the invention relates to railings for French-style balconies, consisting of a single panel attached to a French window frame, and to sunshades comprising a panel that can be positioned in various orientations, either fixed or adjustable.
[0002] French-style balconies are balconies of reduced surface area, consisting essentially of a French window with the masonry forming the frame of said French window, and a panel forming a railing, attached to the frame of said French window.
[0003] With minimal modifications, they allow users to enjoy the outdoors, notably without requiring extensive construction work since no concrete slab needs to be poured or any floor extension built. Only the attachment of the guardrail panel to the frame is necessary.

[0021] To address this need, the invention proposes an upright for attaching a panel, comprising: a base, having two faces, substantially orthogonal to each other, of which: * a face parallel to the plane of the panel, having at its free end a linear compression joint, and * a face orthogonal to the plane of the panel, a flap, hinged with respect to the base at the level of the free end of the face orthogonal to the plane of the panel, having at its free end a complementary linear compression joint, the linear compression joints compressing a panel pinched between the base and the flap in the assembled state, a corner, having an insert, inserted at the level of the hinge between the base and the flap in the assembled state, which, when inserted, locks said hinge in a position pinching the panel.

7. The post according to claim 6, characterised in that the bottom (21) has tabs (20) and the base (5) has rails (27) in which the tabs (20) are engaged in the assembled state, and in that it comprises apertures and screws (15) for securing the bottom (21).
8. The post according to claim 7, characterised in that the bottom (21) has a protrusion (193) against which the sidewall of the panel (1) comes to bear when it is secured in the post (3).
