Description

[0001] BLOOD GROUPING TEST

[0002] Technical field of the invention:

[0003] The invention relates to a blood grouping test providing the possibility to test on both the patient and the donor on the same card by containing 16 microtubes.

[0004] Particularly, the invention relates to blood grouping test that enables a quicker start to the transfusion by seeing all results on the patient on the same card prior to a vital application such as blood transfusion.

[0005] State of the Art:

[0006] Blood grouping test is performed in almost all institutions in our country. Particularly in developed training and research hospitals sub-group determinations can also be done and errors that may occur during a potential blood transfusion are prevented. Blood type determination can be made with a few different methods. These can be briefly listed as gel card centrifugation method, slide method and tube agglutination and molecular methods. Gel card centrifugation method blood grouping system is the most commonly used blood grouping methods today. The device and kits of this system that is also very commonly used in our country are currently being imported.

[0007] In the gel card system, the blood taken from the individual is taken onto a card filled with gel antibody and consisting of 8 different columns, one drop each. In this card, there are different microtubes for A, B and Rh factors and there is a control microtube. The control microtube is to confirm the accuracy of the gel card. After the blood taken onto the card is centrifuged, parts that form precipitate are negative and parts that do not are positive. By this way, depending on the negativity or positivity status of the microtube parameters, the blood type is determined.

[0008] The invention subject to the application no “JP2014077801 A” in the state of the art relates to providing an immunodiagnostic test card increasing the repetition potential and accuracy in reading the test elements. In the invention, there is a flat, planar sublayer comprising multiple transparent microtubes and columns defining the test chamber. A predetermined amount of inert bead or gel material is added to each microtube. Inert material can be covered with an antibody or antigen or can comprise an antibody or antigen or a certain reactive.

[0009] The invention subject to the application no “US20170138977A1” in the state of the art relates to immunodiagnostic test field and particularly to an immunodiagnostic test element having at least one test chamber and covered with a penetrable foil layer. The foil layer is defined with at least one weakened portion allowing penetration such as a liquid dispersion and aspiration element to facilitate the access to the content of the test chamber. Each of the test elements comprise a plurality of common structural properties. In that, each test element (20, 30) commonly comprise a support element in the shape of a planar sublayer having an upper side and a lower side, wherein the sub layer supports multiple microtubes and test columns.

[0010] The invention subject to the application no CN102707074A” in the state of the art relates to the blood type determination test card and a preparation method thereof, and in particular to the use of microcolumn gel technology to determine the blood type antigens on human red blood cells, blood type antibodies in the plasm or serum. ABO / RhD blood typing test kit has 8 microcolumn gel tube, which are: a tube containing IgM anti-A monoclonal antibodies, a tube containing IgM anti-B monoclonal antibodies and a tube containing IgM properties, 5 tubes remaining from Anti-D monoclonal antibody RhD blood group, gel buffer used for negative control, three tubes for ABO counter-typing and empty gel cards comprising a tube for self-control detection.

[0011] Blood grouping tests known in the state of the art enable conducted 1 -2-4-8 tests simultaneously. In the state of the art, there are no tests that enable making at least two tests simultaneously for the same patient and making at least two different patient or donor tests in the same card simultaneously. Therefore, a blood grouping test containing 16 microtubes in a card and thereby reducing the optical evaluation process by half is needed.

[0012] Conclusively, due to the above described problems and the insufficiency of the existing solutions made it necessary to make an improvement in the relevant technical field. The aim of the invention:

[0013] The invention relates to a blood grouping test providing the possibility to test on both the patient and the donor on the same card.

[0014] The most important aim of the invention is to provide the possibility to make tests for both the patient and the donor on the same card. By this way, optical evaluation process is reduced by half.

[0015] Another important aim of the invention is to provide the possibility to make multiple tests on the same card.

[0016] Another important aim of the invention is to enable making more tests (100 tests instead of 60) in one single operation cycle of the device.

[0017] Another aim of the invention is to enable making test analysis of more than 2.5 times of the normal capacity in 1 centrifuge process. another aim of the invention is to provide 16 microtubes in one card. By this way, allowing making more than one test for the same patient depending on the card configuration enables making blood grouping, Monospecific Coombs, Rh / Kell and Crossmatch tests simultaneously and finalise these quicker before a critical application of vital importance such as blood transfusion.

[0018] The structural and characteristic properties and all advantages of the invention will be more clearly understood with the figures given below and the detailed description written with reference to these figures. Therefore, the assessment should also be made by taking these figures and the detailed description into account.

[0028] Description of the Invention

[0029] The invention relates to a blood grouping test providing the possibility to test on both the patient and the donor on the same card by containing 16 microtubes.

[0030] The blood grouping test (100) that is the subject of the invention comprises the card (1 10) and the microtube (120).

[0031] The microtubes (120) contain gel antibody therein allowing the blood to be dropped in it. 16 of these microtubes (120) are fixed on a plastic card (110). One end of the microtubes (120) are conic and the other is wider relative to this end.

[0032] The card (110) enables the fixing of the 16 microtubes (120) thereon. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the card (110) is made of plastic. In the microtubes (120) there is a gel containing the material to be used for the test. This gel allows the passage of only non-agglutinated red blood cells and these cells pass through the gel layer during the centrifuging and precipitate in the conic part. Agglutinated red blood cells on the other hand form clusters in the upper part. Firstly, the sample (red blood cell) is added onto the microtubes containing antibody and gel therein. Then, the blood sample in the gel card localises on or under the gel depending on the states of either the antigen in the sample merging with the antibodies or of no antigens peculiar to that antibody being present in the sample. If the red blood cells are at the bottom of the gel, there are no antigens peculiar to that antibody. If the red blood cells clustered on the top, the antibody and the antigen has combined and formed a complex and there is antigen in the sample.

[0033] The final state of the card (1 10) is a single piece. 16 microtubes (120) are fixed to one another. There are gel antibodies in the microtubes (120). 16 microtubes (120) are test environment for the patient and / or the donor. The card (1 10) seen in drawings is the support part to microtubes (120) for centrifuge, incubator and work station. This part is also fixed to the microtubes from the bottom part.

[0034] The fact that there are 16 microtubes (120) in one card (1 10) enables making two different tests for one patient simultaneously, making en least two different patient and donor tests in the same card simultaneously, making test analysis of more than 2.5 times of the normal capacity in 1 centrifuge process, and reducing optical evaluation process by half.

[0035] The fact that there are 16 microtubes in one card (1 10) enables making more than one test for the same patient depending on the card configuration, making blood grouping, Monospecific Coombs, Rh / Kell and Crossmatch tests simultaneously and finalise these quicker before a critical application of vital importance such as blood transfusion. It also enables working different tests of more than one patient and / or donor in the same card simultaneously and finalising these quicker, depending on the card configuration.

[0036] Again, depending on the card configuration, 16 sub groups for one individual can be worked. This is, for the patients going under blood transfusion treatment regularly, an important parameter to find blood before blood transfusion.

[0037] Blood grouping test (100), by allowing multiple tests in the same card (110), enables making more tests (100 tests instead of 60) in a single operation cycle of the device.
