Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a washbasin according to the preamble of claim 1. STATE OF THE ART

[0002] Wash basin systems with appropriate drains for the water have become known from the state of the art.

[0003] For example, DE 10 2008 044 637 discloses a washbasin that can be connected to a drainpipe. For this purpose, the washbasin has a chamber into which the water flows. The drainpipe is then connected to the chamber.

[0004] DE 10 2008 044 637 has two significant disadvantages. Firstly, the shape of the washbasin with the chamber is very complex to manufacture. Various undercuts significantly increase the manufacturing effort, especially when manufacturing the washbasin from ceramic. Secondly, the required installation space is comparatively large. This is particularly due to the arrangement of the drainpipe in the shape of a pipe bend.

[0005] DE 20 2008 008 557 U1 discloses another washbasin which has a connecting piece that connects to a drain section of the washbasin and essentially protrudes to the rear.

[0006] Furthermore, washbasins with overflow elements have become known from the prior art. For example, EP 1 754 838 discloses a drain arrangement for a washbasin with an overflow element that adjoins the back of the washbasin. Such overflow elements are typically located behind a wall and are very difficult to access when installed. PRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION

[0007] Based on this prior art, the invention seeks to provide a washbasin assembly that overcomes the disadvantages of the prior art. In particular, the present invention seeks to provide a washbasin assembly with an overflow element, with the washbasin assembly being designed to be more compact overall.

[0008] This and other objects are achieved by the subject matter of claim 1. Accordingly, a washstand arrangement comprises a washstand with a water basin, a cavity, and a drain passage extending from the water basin into the cavity, and a drain element arranged in the cavity for conducting water away from the drain passage and for feeding the water into a drain line. The washstand further comprises a rear wall, with which the washstand, in the installed position, can be brought into contact with a building-side connection structure. The cavity is open in the region of a rear wall of the washstand. The drain element has an overflow channel with an overflow edge, wherein both the overflow channel and the overflow edge are located in said cavity.

[0009] The arrangement of the drain element with the shut-off valve and the overflow channel with the overflow edge in the cavity offers the advantage of creating a very compact washbasin arrangement. This is particularly true compared to arrangements where the overflow unit is located behind a false wall. It also increases ease of maintenance.

[0010] Preferably, the drain element according to claim 1 further comprises a wall structure which extends over the cross section of the drain passage, wherein an overflow inlet opening is arranged in the wall structure, which is adjoined by the overflow channel with the overflow edge, and wherein a drain opening is arranged in the wall structure, which is adjoined by a drain channel which can be opened and closed with a check valve.

[0011] When the check valve is closed, the water rises in the basin and flows through the overflow inlet into the overflow channel. The water then rises in the basin and the overflow channel. The overflow edge defines the maximum storage height in the basin. When the maximum storage height is reached, the water then flows over the overflow edge. The height of the overflow edge defines the maximum storage height.

[0012] This and other objects are achieved by the subject matter of claim 3. Accordingly, a washstand arrangement comprises a washstand with a water basin, a cavity, and a drain passage extending from the water basin into the cavity, and a drain element arranged in the cavity for conducting water away from the drain passage and for feeding the water into a drain line. The washstand has a rear wall with which the washstand, in the installed position, can be brought into contact with a building-side connection structure, wherein the cavity is open in the region of a rear wall of the washstand, and wherein the drain element has a wall structure extending over the cross-section of the drain passage. An overflow inlet opening is arranged on the wall structure. The overflow inlet opening is followed by an overflow channel with an overflow edge.Furthermore, a drain opening is arranged in the wall structure, which is connected to a drain channel that can be opened and closed with a shut-off valve.

[0013] The subject matter according to claim 3 has the same advantages as the subject matter according to claim 1.

[0014] The following description of preferred features is applicable to both the subject matter of claim 1 and the subject matter of claim 3.

[0015] The overflow channel preferably extends upwards in the cavity when installed. The overflow channel is preferably located completely within the cavity.

[0016] Preferably, the drainage passage from the water basin is arranged on a side wall of the water basin and extends essentially rearward from the water basin when viewed in the installed position. Preferably, the drainage passage has a slight gradient of a maximum of 20° to the horizontal.

[0017] Preferably, the check valve is located in the cavity and / or in the drain passage.

[0018] Preferably, the water basin is defined by an upper edge that is horizontal when installed. This edge defines a reference plane. The overflow edge is positioned at a distance of 3 to 6 centimeters from the reference plane, perpendicular to the reference plane.

[0019] Preferably, the entire drainage element lies substantially entirely within the cavity. In particular, the drainage element does not penetrate a plane defined by said rear wall. Furthermore, the drainage element does not protrude downward from the cavity. If the drainage element has a drainage nozzle, this can be arranged such that it is the only element of the drainage element that protrudes from the cavity. The drainage nozzle can protrude rearward and / or downward from the cavity. However, apart from the drainage nozzle, all other elements are preferably located inside the cavity.

[0020] Preferably, the washbasin further comprises a base wall, wherein the base wall is open downwards in the region of the cavity in the installed position, and wherein the drain element does not protrude downwards beyond a plane defined by the base wall. If the drain element has a drain nozzle, this can, as already mentioned, be arranged such that it is the only element of the drain element that protrudes from the cavity and, depending on its design, penetrates the plane defined by the base wall.

[0021] Preferably, the overflow channel, when viewed in the installed position, extends exclusively above the said plane spanned by the floor wall.

[0022] Preferably, the cavity is bounded at the top by a wall portion of the washbasin. The wall portion has an outer surface. The overflow edge is preferably located at most 3 to 6 centimeters from the outer surface. Preferably, the wall portion has a through-opening for the passage of a supply line to a water outlet fitting and / or for the passage of a shut-off valve actuating rod.

[0023] The cavity adjoins the drainage passage. In a preferred embodiment, the cavity has a first space section and a second space section. The first space section lies between the drainage passage and the second space section. The bearing wall described herein preferably extends from the first space section into the second space section. The overflow edge is preferably located in the second space section. The second space section extends upward relative to the first space section when viewed in the installed position.

[0024] The surface of the said wall area extends essentially in the said reference plane.

[0025] Preferably, the overflow channel and the drain channel open into each other and continue as a common channel to a drain outlet, wherein the opening point of the overflow channel and the drain channel is located in the said cavity.

[0026] Particularly preferably, the drain outlet is arranged such that it does not penetrate a plane defined by the rear wall. In this variant, the drain outlet is either located entirely within the cavity or protrudes downwards from the cavity.

[0027] Preferably, the drain nozzle is the only element of the drain element which protrudes from the cavity, wherein apart from the drain nozzle the drain element lies entirely within the cavity.

[0028] The drain connection is used for connection to a sewer line. The drain connection is preferably located in the cavity.

[0029] The shut-off valve is preferably located in front of the drain opening or in the drain channel, as seen in the direction of water flow.

[0030] Preferably, the drain opening is located centrally in the wall structure as seen from the drain passage and with a lower edge at the level of or below a lower wall of the drain passage.

[0031] Preferably, the overflow inlet opening is located laterally next to the drain opening and has a lower edge at the level of or below a lower wall of the drain passage.

[0032] Preferably, the wall structure is shaped in such a way that the water to be drained away does not accumulate in front of the wall structure, but is always fed to the drain opening.

[0033] Preferably, the overflow channel is laterally surrounded by a wall, wherein the wall extends upwards over the wall structure and wherein a partition wall with the overflow edge extends transversely through the interior space delimited by the wall.

[0034] Preferably, the wall of the overflow channel extends upwards away from the wall structure.

[0035] Preferably, the overflow channel is closed at the top with a cover, with the inside of the cover being at a distance from the overflow edge.

[0036] The cover has the advantage that the wall can be mechanically shortened if necessary, and the overflow channel can then be closed with the cover. This allows the drain element to be easily adapted to various types of washbasins.

[0037] In a preferred embodiment, two overflow inlets and two overflow channels are provided. The said outlet opening and outlet channel are located between the two overflow inlets and overflow channels.

[0038] Preferably, a support wall 30 protrudes from the wall structure. The support wall protrudes into the cavity 4 of the washbasin. The support wall 30 is designed on the outside to match the shape of the cavity 4. Preferably, the drain passage for accommodating the support wall has a somewhat larger extension than in the section immediately adjacent to the water basin.

[0039] The bearing wall is designed as a circumferential bearing wall and also serves to accommodate a circumferential sealing element. The sealing element is arranged to interact with the walls of the cavity and / or with the rear wall.

[0040] Preferably, the one sealing element is a sealing element formed separately from the drain element. Alternatively, the at least one sealing element is integrally formed on the insert element.

[0041] The drain element can preferably be connected to the washbasin via a material-to-material adhesive connection and / or a mechanical connection. The mechanical connection is preferably a screw and dowel connection and / or a clamp connection between the drain element and the cavity.

[0042] Further embodiments are specified in the dependent claims. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0044] In the Figure 1 A washbasin assembly 1 according to the present invention is shown. The washbasin assembly 1 comprises a washbasin 2 and a drain element 6.

[0045] The washbasin 2 has a water basin 3, a cavity 4 and a drain passage 5. In the Figure 1The cavity 4 is only partially visible behind the drainage passage. The drainage element 6 for conducting water away is arranged in the cavity 4. The water can be fed to a drain line (not shown) via the drainage element 6. The drainage passage extends from the water basin 3 into the cavity 4, such that water from the water basin can be led into the cavity 4 or to the drainage element 6.

[0046] At the top, the water basin 3 is delimited by an upper edge 15. In the installed position, the upper edge 15 lies in the horizontal H. In the installed position means in the installed and ready-to-use state. In the rear area, the washbasin also has a wall area 17. The wall area 17 delimits the cavity 4 at the top. The wall area has an outer surface 18 at the top, which preferably also lies in the aforementioned reference plane B. In the embodiment shown, the wall area 17 has a through-opening 19. The through-opening 19 opens into the cavity 4 and serves to pass through a supply line to a water outlet fitting and / or to pass through a shut-off valve actuating rod.

[0047] In the Figure 2The washbasin assembly 1 is shown from behind. The washbasin 2 has a rear wall 7. The rear wall 7 allows the washbasin 2 to be brought into contact with a building-side connection structure in the installed position. Furthermore, the washbasin 2 has a base wall 16.

[0048] As reported by the Figures 2 to 4 As can be seen, the cavity 4 is accessible via the rear wall 7 and the bottom wall 16. The cavity 4 is open in the area of the rear wall 7. The cavity 4 is also open in the area of the bottom wall 16.

[0049] With respect to the cavity, the drainage element 6 is arranged essentially entirely within said cavity 4. This means that the drainage element 6 does not protrude beyond a plane defined by the rear wall 7 or beyond a plane defined by the bottom wall 16 from the cavity 4. This is except for a drain pipe or drain connection 21, through which the water is fed to a wastewater pipe. Here, the drain connection 21 protrudes downwards from the cavity 4. Furthermore, the drainage element 6 extends partially into the drainage passage 5.

[0050] The drain element 2 has in the embodiment shown, as in the Figures 2 to 6shown, a wall structure 8 which, when connected to the washbasin 2, extends completely over the cross-section of the drain passage 5. In the embodiment shown, the drain element 2 has two fastening openings 31 with which the drain element 2 can be connected to the washbasin.

[0051] The drain element 2 further comprises a drain channel 14 and an overflow channel 10. The drain channel 14 and the overflow channel 10 are integrally formed on the wall structure 8. The drain element 2 is preferably made of plastic.

[0052] A drain opening 12 is arranged in the wall structure 8. The drain opening 12 is connected to the drain channel 14. The figures show an embodiment in which a check valve 13 is located in front of the drain channel 14 and closes the drain opening 12. The check valve 13 here has the shape of a valve flap. However, the check valve 13 can be designed differently and, for example, be located in the drain channel 14. Regardless of the design or position of the check valve 13, the check valve 13 serves to tightly close the drain opening 12 or the drain channel 14. When the check valve 13 is closed, the water is dammed in the water basin 3. When the check valve 13 is open, the water flows into the drain channel 14.

[0053] The overflow channel 10 serves to drain water from the water basin 3 when a certain water level is reached with the check valve closed. For this purpose, the overflow channel 10 has an overflow edge 11. The position of the overflow edge 11 defines the maximum water level in the water basin 3. In the embodiment shown, the overflow channel 10 and the overflow edge 11 are also located in the cavity 4. An overflow inlet opening 11 is arranged in the wall structure 8, which is then connected to the overflow channel 10. The overflow channel 10 then extends upwards to the overflow edge 11 and then downwards again from the overflow edge 11.

[0054] In the embodiment shown, the overflow inlet opening 11 and the drain opening 12 are arranged as separate openings. Viewed from the water basin 3 or the drain passage 5, the overflow channel 10 is accessible via the overflow inlet opening 9, and the drain channel 14 is accessible via a drain opening 12. The overflow inlet opening 9 and the drain opening 12 are arranged side by side, offset from one another. This means that the overflow inlet opening 9 and the drain opening 12 are spaced apart from one another.

[0055] The overflow channel 10 and the drain channel 14 merge at a junction 36 and, after the junction 36, continue as a common channel 20 to a drain connection 21. The junction of the overflow channel 10 and the drain channel 14 is also located in the aforementioned cavity 4. A drain pipe can then be connected to the drain connection 21. The junction 36 is located behind the overflow edge 11 and behind the check valve 13, as seen in the flow direction from the overflow inlet opening 9 and the drain opening 12.

[0056] The drain opening 12 and overflow inlet opening 11 are positioned such that, in the installed position, they lie within the clear width of the drain passage 5. This means that the water can flow unhindered from the drain passage 5 to the drain opening 12 and overflow inlet opening 11. The drain opening 12 is located centrally in the wall structure 8, as viewed from the drain passage 5, and has a lower edge 22 at the level of or below a lower wall 23 of the drain passage 5. Furthermore, the overflow inlet opening 9 is located laterally next to the drain opening 12 and has a lower edge 24 at the level of or below a lower wall 23 of the drain passage 5.

[0057] The overflow channel 10 is, as shown in the Figures 5 and 6As clearly shown, it is laterally surrounded by a wall 25. The wall 25 extends upwards above the wall structure 8. A partition 26 extends transversely through the interior space 27 defined by the wall 25. The partition 26 has the aforementioned overflow edge 11. The overflow channel 10 is closed at the top with a cover 28. The inner side 29 of the cover is spaced from the overflow edge 11.

[0058] A bearing wall 30 protrudes from the wall structure 8. The bearing wall 30 protrudes into the cavity 4 of the washbasin. The bearing wall 30 is configured on the outside to match the shape of a first spatial section of the cavity 4. The first spatial section adjoins the drain passage 5. Preferably, the first spatial section for accommodating the bearing wall 30 has a slightly larger extent than the extent of the drain passage 5, which directly adjoins the water basin 3. The remaining part of the drain element 6 lies in a second spatial section of the cavity, wherein the second spatial section adjoins the first spatial section.

[0059] The bearing wall 30 is designed as a circumferential bearing wall and further serves to accommodate a likewise circumferential sealing element 32. The sealing element 32 is arranged to interact with the walls of the cavity 4.

[0060] In the Figure 7A cross-sectional view of the drainage channel is shown. Figure 8 shows a sectional view of the overflow channel. The overflow edge is located, as shown in the Figure 8 shown at a distance of 3 to 6 centimeters from the reference plane B. The distance is designated by the reference symbol A.

[0061] The Figures 9 and 10 then show a front view of the drain element 6 and a sectional view. From the sectional view along the section line XX in Figure 9It can be seen that the overflow channel 10 extends from the overflow inlet opening 9 with a first channel section 37. The first channel section 37 is followed by a rising section 38. The rising section 38 leads to the overflow edge 11. After the overflow edge 11, the rising section 38 is followed by a falling section 39. The falling section 39 then flows into the discharge channel 14 at the outlet point 36. The rising section 38 and the falling section 39 run parallel to one another here and, as already mentioned, are separated from one another by the dividing wall 26.

[0062] Of the Figure 10 It is further apparent that in the embodiment shown, the drainage channel 12 has a deflection section 40, which deflects the drainage channel toward the overflow channel 20. This deflection section 40 allows the outlet point 36 to be placed behind a closed wall section of the wall structure 8.
