Abstract
Description
[0001] The subject matter of the invention is a kit with profiles for wall-side wet room sealing according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
[0002] DE 10 2016 015 718 B4 describes a shower enclosure featuring metal wall profiles that are sealed to a wall. This has the disadvantage that the wall profiles and their connecting surfaces to the wall must be sealed with a sealant.
[0003] DE 10 2013 109 897 A1 describes a kit and installation arrangement for cladding sanitary rooms. A metal plate is attached to the back of a wall element, which can be brought into contact with a magnet attached to the wall. The problem of sealing between adjoining wall elements is not described.
[0004] DE 10 2009 019 182 B4 describes a method for sealingly arranging a frame element of a shower enclosure with a contact surface against a mating surface of a room wall. The sealant is first applied to the contact surface or mating surface. The frame element is then positioned with the contact surface adjacent to the mating surface, and the frame element is subsequently pressed against the mating surface with a contact surface. A self-adhesive sealing tape is used as the sealant. This tape is glued into a groove in the frame element and fills the groove. The disadvantage is that the frame element is positioned on the visible side of the shower enclosure exposed to moisture and is therefore visible. It therefore requires separate cleaning, and the profile corners it forms are prone to soiling.
[0005] When waterproofing shower rooms or other sanitary fittings that are to be installed away from an existing wall to ensure a moisture-tight seal, there is the problem that the interlocking tongue-and-groove joints are exposed to moisture, and the sealant used in these tongue-and-groove joints is prone to tearing. Furthermore, such sealants have the disadvantage that they are directly exposed to moisture attack and are therefore prone to mold growth, the formation of hairline cracks, and tearing.
[0006] Instead of a tongue-and-groove joint, H-shaped profile joints are also available, although the profile is visible from the moisture-exposed side (visible side). The profile and the abutting end faces of the matching wall panels are then filled with a sealant. The profile forms an H-profile at the joint, but this has the disadvantage of being visible from the inside. This also poses the problem that the inside legs of the H-profile exposed to moisture must be sealed, and this requires a visible sealant that is prone to tearing, yellowing, and soiling.
[0007] The invention is therefore based on the object of developing a corner and / or surface seal between two wall panels that abut one another at an angle in such a way that the profile holding the wall panels is not visible from the moisture-exposed inside and preferably no sealants are arranged on this moisture-exposed visible side.
[0008] A kit with profiles for the wall-side wet room waterproofing is proposed, which consists of wall panels exposed to moisture from the inside, which form a narrow surface line exposed to moisture in the contact area of the facing end faces, whereby the wet room waterproofing is carried out on the back of the wall panels in the direction of the profiles attached to the wall.
[0009] The technical teaching of the main claim offers the advantage that the known H-shaped connecting profiles on the visible side are no longer required. Instead, a corner line or surface line is present on the visible side between the abutting panels, exposed to moisture attack. This line consists only of the surfaces of the wall panels themselves, but no profile legs or the like protrude into the moisture-exposed interior space. This eliminates the need to additionally seal any profile legs that may protrude into the moisture-exposed interior space, and a visually pleasing corner line or surface line impression is also achieved between abutting panels, because the corner line or surface line consists of the visible corners of the wall panels themselves, without any sealant or profile leg of a corner profile being visible. The wet room sealing according to the invention is therefore carried out on the back of the moisture-exposed visible side of the wall panels in the direction of the wall-mounted profiles, which in turn are also preferably attached "floating" to the existing wall surfaces using permanently elastic adhesives.
[0010] The term "surface sealing between two wall panels that abut each other at an angle" means that a 90-degree angle is preferably intended for corner sealing and / or a 180-degree angle for surface sealing of abutting wall panels. However, other angles can also be provided, so the above-mentioned preferred angle dimensions are merely to be regarded as preferred angles. While the following description only describes the effects of a corner profile, this is not to be understood as limiting. This is merely a description of a preferred embodiment, which does not exclude other embodiments.
[0011] The teaching of the invention provides the advantage that no profile cross-sections that need to be sealed are arranged in the moisture-exposed interior.
[0012] Another advantage of the inventive teaching is that an external corner profile is provided, encompassing the abutting corners of the wall panels. This profile essentially consists of two side legs that abut each other at an angle of 90° and are joined together in one piece. These side legs form inwardly directed support webs, each directed toward the outer surface of the respective wall panel, which form sealing chambers filled with sealant between them.
[0013] This has the advantage that the load-bearing function or the actual connection between the abutting wall panels and the corner profile is only - preferably - carried out by the permanently elastic sealing compound filling the sealing chambers, so that no fixed connections are present between the wall panels and the corner profile. The publication DE 10 2009 019 182 B4 shows the opposite technical teaching, because according to the Figure 3the edges of a frame profile rest on the surfaces of the wall in a load-transferring manner.
[0014] In the invention, the corner profile floats or floats on the moisture-resistant outer sides of the wall panels, enclosing their outer corners, and the sole connection to the wall is achieved by permanently elastic sealing compounds that allow a certain amount of movement between the associated wall panels.
[0015] The given technical teaching results in the further advantage that it is now possible for the first time to fix a first wall panel at the corner in such a way that both the corner side protruding into the corner profile on the long side and the front side are glued with the sealing compound, thus providing a relatively good fixation, a relatively good stable but elastic fixation of the one wall panel.
[0016] It is preferred if the other second wall panel, which abuts the first wall panel at an angle of 90°, is now only secured with the permanently elastic sealant in the area of its long sides, so that it is given a movement play directed in the direction of its longitudinal extent due to the permanently elastic sealant. In the joint connection, i.e. between the front side of the second wall element and the movement connection of the long side of the first wall element, this creates a sealing surface and a sealant that may still be filled with the sealing surface, resulting in a moisture-exposed corner or surface line that is preferably completely free of sealant because no sealant is present in this area. Therefore, no bonding or visible sealing of this corner or surface line is required, nor is any sealant required in this area, because the entire sealing between the two wall panels is installed in the outer area of the wall panels, namely in the interior of the corner profile.
[0017] This creates the possibility for one end face of the second wall panel, which is assigned to the movement area, to rest against the long side of the other wall panel with a sealing surface, possibly filled with sealant, allowing a certain amount of movement there without tearing the sealing connection. This offers the further advantage that the resulting corner or surface line is preferably completely free of sealant and is not exposed to any contamination from moldy sealant or leaks.
[0018] Even if water enters the joint (corner or surface line) between the abutting wall panels, the water cannot penetrate further because the sealing chambers located behind it in the space between the inside of the corner profile and the outside of the wall panels are filled with permanently elastic sealant and further water penetration past these sealing chambers is not possible.
[0019] It was therefore also determined that it is sufficient to glue the corner profile with the wall panels with moving or moving corner profiles only with individual adhesive points to one wall surface of the existing wall, because the entire corner profile should move together with the wall panels in order to maintain the sealing effect and the advantages of the load-bearing function of the permanently elastic sealing compounds.
[0020] In a further development of the invention, it is provided that, in the manner described above, another connecting profile is also provided for the flush connection of two abutting wall panels. This connecting profile extends vertically, just like the corner profile described above, and has the same properties, namely the formation of sealing chambers in the area between the supporting webs, which bear against the outer sides of the wall panels to be joined, transferring the load.
[0021] It is preferred if the end faces of the wall panels are provided with a triangular groove extending over the height of the wall panel, whereby two triangular grooves abutting one another at the end face together form a T-groove into which a web leg of the connecting profile engages and connects these two partial grooves with each other.
[0022] Furthermore, such a connecting profile for connecting flush-fitting wall panels has the advantage that the T-slot is provided on the outer side and in the area of the butt joint of the abutting wall panels. A horizontally directed web leg engages into this T-slot. On the outer sides of these web legs, there are web extensions with ribbed surfaces that are attached at an angle of 90° to the web leg. This ensures that the web extensions with ribbed surfaces engage in the T-slot of the respective abutting profile area of the T-slot and are seated there in a friction-enhancing manner, thus preventing the wall panels from pulling apart in their connection area.
[0023] This design of a connecting profile for flush-fitting wall panels also offers the advantage that the sealing chambers formed between the supporting webs on the inside of the connecting profile are only partially filled with a permanently elastic sealant, thus creating a floating and moving connection between the connecting profile and the interconnected wall panels. However, if the sealing chamber were completely filled with the permanently elastic sealant, the desired range of motion would be restricted.
[0024] In this embodiment, it is also sufficient to attach one wall panel to the existing wall using dot-shaped adhesive points, because the connecting profile is intended to move with it.
[0025] The subject matter of the present invention results not only from the subject matter of the individual patent claims, but also from the combination of the individual patent claims with one another.
[0026] All information and features disclosed in the documents, including the abstract, in particular the spatial configuration depicted in the drawings, could be claimed as essential to the invention, insofar as they are novel, individually or in combination, compared to the prior art. The use of the terms "essential" or "according to the invention" or "essential to the invention" is subjective and does not imply that the features so named must necessarily be part of one or more patent claims.
[0027] The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to drawings illustrating only one embodiment. Further essential features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the drawings and their description.
[0028] They show: Figure 1 : Perspective view of a corner seal according to the invention Figure 2 : Section through the corner seal after Figure 1 with illustration of further details Figure 3 : Perspective view of a connecting profile for flush connection of wall panels Figure 4 : A section through the arrangement according to Figure 3 Figure 5 : A representation of the floor-side connection of the corner profile to a floor-side frame profile with representation of a miter cut formed with a gap
[0029] The figure shows a perspective view of a corner seal 1 which is used to connect two wall panels 3, 4 which abut one another at an angle of 90°, wherein the two wall panels 3, 4 are encompassed at the corners by an outer corner profile 2. This corner profile 2 is preferably made of an extruded aluminum profile and has a plurality of horizontally running webs on the inside which form specific areas between them. It can be seen that there are larger supporting webs 9 in height which lie in contact with the outer side of the respective wall panel 3, 4, and in the space between the supporting webs 9 there are occasional vertically running stop webs 10 which are lower in height than the supporting webs 9 so that the stop webs 10 do not rest on the outer sides of the wall panels 3, 4.
[0030] The Figure 1shows, as an example of a corner connection, a corner line 8 which is sealed to the visible side without the need to use a sealant in this corner line 8 because - as described below - the sealing takes place on the outside in the space between the inside of the corner profile and the outside of the wall panels 3, 4.
[0031] Out of Figure 2 Further details of this special, floating seal can be found here, whereby the corner profile 2 can move with the wall panels 3, 4, and the wall panels 3, 4 can move in the side legs 12, 13 of the corner profile 2. This is achieved by a permanently elastic sealing compound 14 arranged in sealing chambers 5, 6, 7, which allows for three-dimensional movement (depth, height, width).
[0032] As in Figure 2shown in dashed lines, a permanently elastic sealing compound 14 is first poured into a sealing chamber 5, which has a certain excess height in order to form a sealing track 14' with an increased height. However, as soon as the wall panel 3 is pressed against the side leg 12 of the corner profile 2 in the direction of the arrow 16, this raised sealing track 14 is pressed. A flatter sealing compound 14 is then formed, which, however, does not fill the entire sealing chamber 5, but intentionally leaves at least a lateral empty space 15 free in order to allow three-dimensional movement. It is preferred if the supporting webs 9 exert no or only a slight load transfer from the inside of the profile to the back of the wall panels 3, 4 in order to impair the movement play only to a slight extent or not at all.
[0033] The empty space 15 has the advantage that the wall panel 3, 4 can move along the side leg 12 in the direction of the arrows 17, and the movement is absorbed by the sealing compound 14 without the sealing compound tearing off. If, as is undesirable, the sealing chamber 5 were completely and flush filled with sealing compound 14, a movement of the wall panel 3 in the direction of the arrows 9 in relation to the side leg 12 would lead to a tearing off of the connection between the sealing compound 14 and the outer side, namely the long side 29, of the wall panel 3. This is avoided by the measures according to the invention.
[0034] Out of Figure 2It also follows that, to reduce the play of movement of the other wall panel 4, this is preferably glued to the inside corners of the corner profile 2 in the area of a corner sealing chamber 7, with the sealing compound 14 also forming the load-bearing connection here. However, because both the end face 18 of the wall panel 4 and the long side 19 are provided with the sealing compound 14, the wall panel 4 has less play than the play of movement of the wall panel 3 in the directions of the arrows 17.
[0035] In this way, it may happen that the two wall panels 3, 4 move relative to each other, and in doing so, a sealing surface 11, which may be filled with a sealant 30, also moves slightly, opening and closing. However, it is preferable if this sealant 30 does not protrude from the corner line 8, because the corner line 8, which is a visible line exposed to moisture attack, should be kept completely free of sealant. In this way, a clean, defined corner line 8 is created that is free of sealant, completely wear-free, and seamless.
[0036] In the space between the higher support webs 9, stop webs 10 are provided that are shortened in height and serve as a guide profile when the sealing compound 14 is to be filled into the sealing chambers 5, 6, 7 using a cartridge. This also prevents overfilling of the sealing chambers 5, 6, 7 because only a defined amount of sealing compound 14 can be filled, whereby these stop webs 10 serve to guide the mouth of a cartridge.
[0037] Instead of the arrangement of sealing compounds 14, which are dispensed from a cartridge, it is of course also possible in another embodiment to use sealing bands - as described in DE 10 2009 019 182 B4 - which are permanently elastic and which also have the shape as indicated for the sealing track 14', so that this sealing band also deforms accordingly in the direction of arrow 16 and takes on the shape as it does for the sealing compound 14 in Figure 2However, the sealing strips must not completely fill the sealing chambers 5, 6, 7 and must allow the previously described empty space 15 to allow three-dimensional movement of the wall panels 3, 4, which is particularly important in DE 10 2009 019 192 B4 in the version therein. Figure 3 was excluded.
[0038] The arrangement of permanently elastic sealing compounds which are dispensed via a cartridge and sealing tapes which have the same effect as permanently elastic sealing compounds are equally preferred by the invention.
[0039] Because it is a corner profile 2 that moves with the wall panel 3, 4, in the corner space of which the wall panels 3 can move due to the permanently elastic sealing compounds 14 in the sealing chambers 5, 6, 7, it is also sufficient to provide adhesive points 31 only for connecting the corner profile 2 to an existing wall, which are only sporadically arranged preferably on a single side leg 13 of the corner profile 2.
[0040] Out of Figure 3 The same characteristics as above are obtained from the Figures 1 and 2 described, except that the Figure 3 and the Figure 4 show a connecting profile 20 which serves for the flush connection of wall panels 3, 4 which abut one another at the end.
[0041] Here, too, there are support webs 9 on the inside of the respective connecting profile 20, which are directed inward and rest against the outside of the respective wall panel 3, 4. In the space between these support webs, parallel stop webs 10 are arranged, also running in the same direction but shortened in height. The support webs 9 also form sealing chambers 28, which, according to the above technical teaching, are only partially filled with the sealing compound 14.
[0042] According to the Figure 4A web leg 22 is integrally formed with the inside of the connecting profile 20. The connecting profile 20 consists of two base legs 21 that merge into one another and are connected to one another in a single piece, with the web leg 22 being attached approximately in the middle area of the base leg 21 and being formed on its outer sides with web projections 23 that are angled at an angle of 90° therefrom. The connecting profile 20 with the base leg 21 and the web legs formed thereon extends over the entire height of the connecting profile 20 and rests on the bottom side on an arrangement such as that shown, for example, in Figure 5 is shown.
[0043] It is arranged according to Figure 3 and 4It is preferred if a friction-increasing ribbed profile 24 is arranged on the surfaces of the web extensions 23. The ribbed profile 24 engages in the respective T-groove 26 in the region of the abutting end faces of the wall panels 3, 4 and is anchored there by friction. It is preferred if the web extensions 23 engage in the T-groove with play, i.e. with lateral play, forming free spaces 27, in order to ensure that the two abutting wall panels 3, 4 form a self-contained joint 25 which is visible from the moisture-exposed side, but to which no sealant is applied. The gap of the joint 25 is preferably in the range of 0.1 to 0.3 mm.
[0044] In a further development of the present invention, sealing surfaces can be formed beyond the joint 25 in the region of the abutting end faces of the wall panels 3, 4, and the sealing surfaces 35 can optionally be provided with a sealant. For this purpose, the T-slot 26 is filled with a transparent sealant in the area of the free space 27. When the two wall panels butt together, the sealing surfaces 35 abut one another and can absorb some permanently elastic sealant from the free space 27 of the T-slot 26 to form an additional seal.
[0045] Instead of a transparent sealant, any other colored sealant can of course also be used.
[0046] The Figure 4also shows that it is sufficient not to connect the connecting profile 20 to the existing wall surface 32 on site, but instead to simply fasten a wall panel, for example the wall panel 4, with sporadically applied adhesive points 31 to the existing wall surface 32. Figure 6 shows the floor-side connection of the corner profile and connecting profile to a frame-side frame profile 33, wherein it is shown that the corner profile 2 connects to the frame-side frame profile 33, wherein the special connection option is shown in. Figure 5 shows that it is advantageous to notch the frame profile 33 in the area of its corner and to provide it there with a miter cut 34, which can be filled with an additional sealant in order to allow the frame profile 33 to move as well.
