Description

[0001] The invention relates to a composite floor covering according to the preamble of claim 1 and to a road shoulder or a road surface designed as such a composite floor covering. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] Composite flooring for open spaces is known from the state of the art, featuring mineral granules bound with a polymer material. Additionally, polymer granules can also be used, either bound or unbound.

[0003] These surfaces are usually porous, allowing water to pass through. Because they don't puddle, they're ideal for public spaces and sports facilities.

[0004] From the generic EP 2 118 160 A1 or DE 10 2007 012 973 A1, a water-permeable stone composite molded body is known, which consists of 99 to 65 percent by weight of granules made of mineral plastics with a grain size of 0.5 to 100 mm and 1 to 35 percent by weight of a two-component polyurethane adhesive.

[0005] From DE 20 2006 013 964 U1, it is known to mix the filling material of a gabion with binding agents. A masonry structure can be provided for building gabion stone basket walls, with the stones either vibrated into the gabion stone basket or firmly bonded together with filling material or binding materials.

[0006] DE 20 2008 016 807 U1 describes an open-pore molded body into which glass fiber fleeces can also be integrated.

[0007] EP 018 639 A1 also discloses a verge for a road. The base of the verge consists of a mixture of stone, sand, humus, and numerous other elements, encased in a layer of geotextile. The aim is to create a vegetation layer so stable that it can also be used for road verges or parking spaces, without causing vehicles to sink into the grass.

[0008] DE 41 30 768 C1 discloses a support cushion for earthworks and road construction. The core material is encased in a geotextile or random-fiber nonwoven. It is also proposed to provide geotextile layers within the support cushions, extending over portions of the cross-section.

[0009] EP 1 464 756 A1 describes a structure for a playground, in which the layer structure is reinforced by geotextile layers.

[0010] However, composite flooring made of mineral granules and polymer materials has been criticized for its environmental impact due to the polymer content. Even with bonded polymers, abrasion is unavoidable, resulting in microplastics being released into the environment.

[0011] On the other hand, these surfaces offer significant advantages in terms of maintenance and upkeep compared to conventional gravel or tar surfaces. While gravel surfaces don't seal the surface, they are very maintenance-intensive. Tar surfaces seal the surface, making it impermeable to water. Paving stones, on the other hand, are very complex to install.

[0012] US 2006 / 0032807 A1 discloses a filter system for filtering ions, complexes, or other particles from an aqueous stream. The filter device can be made of various materials, such as sand, polymer material, ash, perlite, or a solid, porous matrix, such as CPP (Cementious Porous Pavement). The CPP is preferably porous enough to allow water to flow through the pores. A road shoulder, for example, can be provided with such a CPP. Membrane filters with a pore size in the range of 0.1 to 50 microns and even up to 3000 or more microns are disclosed as further filter materials. This membrane material is preferably made of cellulose.

[0013] GB 2 416 130 A shows a floor covering structure using different grain materials. Among other materials, a fleece can be used.

[0014] GB 2 396 379 A relates to a floor covering for water drainage, which is composed of various layers. A surface layer can be porous asphalt or porous concrete. The porous asphalt can contain bitumen, which can be interspersed with a polymer, and granular aggregates. Beneath the surface layer are further coarser-grained layers and a semipermeable membrane. The membrane is a synthetic woven geotextile membrane.

[0015] EP 0 390 755 A2 discloses a laminated geotextile composed of multiple layers intended for use as a filter and / or drainage layer. The layers include woven or nonwoven geotextiles made of various materials with varying strengths and pore sizes.

[0016] CN 106 565 175 A discloses a floor covering consisting of several layers for draining or storing water, with each layer being characterized by its different material composition. The materials range from concrete and quartz sand to polyurethane. A water-permeable geotextile is provided between a base layer and the layer above it.

[0017] EP 1020566 A2 describes a device and method for restoring the water permeability of a porous paving surface, a drainage system, or a water-permeable pavement. A high-pressure water jet is projected onto the surface to clean blocked air pores.

[0018] EP 2210982 A2 discloses a mobile high-pressure cleaning machine for outdoor synthetic flooring. The high-pressure cleaning machine includes a spraying device for spraying water under high pressure against a floor surface to be cleaned and a collecting device for collecting sprayed water and dirt using suction air. TASK AND SOLUTION

[0019] The task is therefore to create a composite floor covering that is very environmentally friendly and can provide a filtering effect in the long term.

[0020] The object is achieved by a composite floor covering or polymer floor covering having the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

[0021] According to the invention, the porous composite floor covering or polymer covering is provided with at least one filter fleece section and consists of a mineral granulate bonded to the polymer material to form a porous composite floor covering. The composite floor covering is characterized in that several filter fleece sections are arranged in the composite floor covering, wherein the filter fleece sections are arranged offset from one another in at least two planes and overlap in the vertical projection, and wherein the filter fleece sections have a pore size of no more than 100 µm.

[0022] A nonwoven fabric is preferably arranged at least on the underside of the flooring, whereby the nonwoven fabric can have a pore opening of no more than 100 µm. The porous composite flooring provides a primary filtering effect for coarse-grained materials, such as sand. This is retained in the pores of the composite flooring. Fine dust, including microplastics, is washed by water through the composite flooring to the nonwoven fabric, where it is trapped and thus does not enter the environment. The nonwoven fabric thus serves as a secondary filter for capturing fine dust and other fine particles.

[0023] The composite floor covering can be cleaned at regular intervals. During cleaning, for example, a high-pressure water jet is forced into the composite floor covering, and the water is sucked away again using a suction device. This makes it possible, after a certain period of use, when the pores of the composite floor covering have become clogged with dirt, to clean it again and make it free of dirt. It has been shown that a composite floor covering made of mineral particles bonded to a polymer material can, on the one hand, have the coarse porosity required to filter out coarse particles and allow water to be injected, and, on the other hand, is so stable that such a cleaning process with high-pressure water can be carried out repeatedly. There are porous floor coverings in which the particles are bonded with a mineral binder, for example, one based on cement. This can also create large pores. However, such mineral binders are not elastic, which means they break and are destroyed when cleaned with water under high pressure. In such floor coverings, the particles would become detached upon repeated cleaning.

[0024] The combination of a porous composite floor covering, made of a mineral granulate and an elastic polymer material, and a fleece with a small pore size allows the filtering of coarse and fine substances and can be cleaned regularly, thus enabling a long-term filtering effect.

[0025] It is very advantageous for the fleece to have a pore size of no more than 100 µm. It can also be made even finer, preferably no more than 50 µm, to reliably retain microparticles and fine dust.

[0026] The above-mentioned DE 20 2008 016 807 U1 uses the glass fibre fleece GV60, which has a pore size of 600 µm (60g / m 2< corresponds to approx. 600 µm pore size) and therefore does not act as a filter.

[0027] With the present invention, the covering can be removed after its service life and disposed of properly.

[0028] In particular, the surface can be used for road verges.

[0029] The composite floor covering according to the invention can be used for the production of water-permeable, open-pore bound road shoulders as well as car parking areas and retention systems for surface drainage (troughs, ditches, infiltration basins) of the roadways and parking areas.

[0030] According to the RSV (= Guidelines and Regulations for Road Construction), a road shoulder is between 0.50 m and 1.00 m wide. The shoulder thickness is usually at least 8 cm.

[0031] The composite flooring can also be used as a sports flooring, particularly for tennis courts or soccer fields. Fine-grained granules can be loosely applied to the surface to mimic a conventional clay court. This granulate can be plastic granules or sand granules. This can lead to plastic abrasion, which is captured by the nonwoven fabric. The coarse-grained plastic granules are worn away during use, creating fine-grained abrasion. The sand granules cause fine-grained abrasion on the composite flooring.

[0032] A cleaning device not according to the invention can be provided for cleaning a composite floor covering as explained above, wherein the cleaning device has a cleaning nozzle for forcing water or an aqueous solution into the porous floor covering and a suction device for sucking the water out of the floor covering.

[0033] With this cleaning device, the composite flooring can be cleaned at regular intervals, for example, once or twice a year. This removes dirt from the pores of the composite flooring, allowing water to continue to penetrate the composite flooring and ensuring its effective filtration.

[0034] The cleaning device preferably has a filter device for filtering the extracted water. This allows the water to be reused and a concentrated amount of dirt to be collected. This is particularly useful when the cleaning device is mounted on a street cleaning vehicle.

[0035] The cleaning device can be equipped with a pump with which water or an aqueous solution is supplied to the nozzle at a pressure of at least 10 bar, in particular at least 20 bar or at least 50 bar, and preferably at least 100 bar. In practice, it has been shown that it is expedient to supply the water or aqueous solution to the nozzle at a pressure of up to 140 bar.

[0036] The cleaning device may comprise a suction or pressure bar in which one or more cleaning nozzles and / or one or more suction nozzles are integrated.

[0037] The suction or pressure beam has a length of at least 30 cm and preferably at least 50 cm. The maximum length of the suction or pressure beam is preferably 1 m or 1.2 m, respectively.

[0038] A street cleaning vehicle for cleaning the composite floor covering as explained above may be provided, wherein the street cleaning vehicle has a cleaning device as explained above.

[0039] Such a street cleaning vehicle with a suction or pressure bar is preferably designed so that the suction or pressure bar can be arranged at different angles of inclination relative to the direction of travel of the street cleaning vehicle. This allows the effective width to be changed by tilting the suction or pressure bar and adapted to the width of the section to be cleaned, in particular the road shoulder to be cleaned. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0042] A first embodiment of a composite floor covering 1 is explained below, which forms a banquet ( Figure 1 ).

[0043] The composite floor covering 1 is made of a mineral granulate and a binding agent.

[0044] The mineral granulate includes, for example, gravel and / or chippings (soft and hard rocks such as limestone, diabase, basalt, gneiss). The mineral granulate can consist of a grain size mixture of 2 / 5 mm (i.e., a grading curve between 2 mm and 5 mm), 4 / 8 mm, or 8 / 16 mm, with a preferred proportion of fine-grained material up to 0.2 mm, representing a maximum of 10% of the mass weight of the rock in the pavement. The grading curve is determined individually depending on the load and the requirements of the respective work.

[0045] The binder can be a one-component or two-component coating material, for example, based on polyurethane. However, other polymers, such as those based on epoxy, polyethylene, polypropylene, etc., are also suitable as binders. A composite floor covering made with these polymers is resistant to frost and de-icing salt.

[0046] In the present embodiment, the binder constitutes between 3% and 5% by mass. The binder mass should not exceed 10% to ensure sufficient porosity of the composite pavement. The higher the binder mass, the lower the porosity of the composite pavement. A very low binder mass can impair the strength of the composite pavement. Therefore, it is advisable to provide a binder mass of at least 1% and, in particular, at least 2% in the composite pavement.

[0047] The composite floor covering 1 can be formed with a void content of at least 20% by volume, preferably at least 25% by volume, and in particular at least 30% by volume. The preferred embodiment has a void content of 32% by volume.

[0048] The maximum pore size for a 4 / 8 mm grain mix is 10 mm. The minimum pore size is generally in the range of 0.5 to 3 mm. This ensures high water permeability and a good filtering effect for coarse particles.

[0049] A filter fleece 2 is provided as a filter medium for fine particles.

[0050] The filter fleece is preferably designed with a minimum weight of 250 g / m². The weight of the filter fleece can also be significantly higher.

[0051] The filter fleece has a maximum porosity of 100 µm. The porosity can also be smaller, for example, limited to a maximum of 75 µm, 50 µm, 25 µm, or 20 µm. Such filter fleeces are available from Noravin.

[0052] The porosity of the composite material is one or more orders of magnitude greater than that of the filter fleece. This ensures that sufficient water flows through the composite material and is filtered by the filter fleece.

[0053] The pore size of the filter fleece is preferably larger than 10 µm. This ensures sufficient water permeability.

[0054] The filter fleece is laid under the composite surface 1, which forms a verge, and is pulled up on the flanks to the verge surface.

[0055] In the Figure 1It can be seen that the composite floor covering 1, in addition to the filter fleece 2, also has internal filter fleece sections 3. These internal filter fleece sections 3 can be designed with different porosities than the filter fleece 2 and thus serve for coarse and fine filtration.

[0056] The composite floor covering 1 rests on an unbound base layer 5. At the edge, one edge section of it rests on a bound base layer 6 (asphalt, etc.), which is arranged horizontally butt-to-end with the composite floor covering, with the surfaces being flush or forming a continuous transition. On the side of the composite floor covering 1 opposite the bound base layer 6, there is a topsoil 4 (e.g., humus). The base layer 6 has an approximately horizontal surface. The surface of the composite floor covering 2 is inclined from the base layer towards the topsoil 4. The incline is, for example, approximately 5° to 10° compared to the base layer 6. The topsoil can have the same incline, be even more steeply inclined, or be less steep and even horizontal.

[0057] The width of the composite flooring is based on the RVS specifications for banquets.

[0058] In this embodiment, the filter fleece 2 is arranged at least on the entire underside of the composite floor covering and is raised and installed like a trough at the joint areas between the base layer 6 and the topsoil 4. The filter fleece 2 thus forms a trough-shaped trough.

[0059] The inner filter fleece sections 3 are designed as strip-shaped sections that extend in the longitudinal direction of the composite floor covering. They are arranged, for example, parallel to the underside of the composite floor covering.

[0060] Composite flooring 2 has a minimum thickness of 8 cm according to RVS. However, for other composite flooring applications, the minimum thickness may be lower.

[0061] The specific design of a verge depends on the requirements of the respective JDTV classes, which are determined based on the respective traffic volume (vehicles in 24 hours). The design of the composite flooring can vary accordingly.

[0062] The road shoulder is designed with an incline of approximately 5° to 10° relative to the roadway and has a

[0063] In the Figures 2 to 6 Further embodiments of the composite floor covering 2 are shown, which correspond to the Figure 1 The embodiment shown corresponds to the one shown in the drawings, unless otherwise stated below or shown in the figures. Therefore, identical parts are not explained again and are designated by the same reference numerals.

[0064] These further embodiments differ mainly in the arrangement of the inner filter fleece sections 3. According to Figures 1 to 4In each case, several strip-shaped filter fleece sections 3 are provided, which are arranged alternately offset from one another in several levels (here, two levels; more levels are also possible). In the vertical projection, the individual filter fleece sections 3 are arranged with a slight overlap. This achieves a flat coverage without excessively compromising the strength of the composite floor covering 1. As can be seen from the different exemplary embodiments, the width and number of filter fleece sections 3 can vary.

[0065] A fifth embodiment not according to the invention ( Figure 5) has several filter fleece sections 3, which are arranged diagonally opposite the underside or the top side of the composite floor covering 1. The inclination of the filter fleece sections 3 is such that they are inclined in the opposite direction to the composite floor covering 1, whereby the inclination is steeper, whereby they counteract water flowing within the composite floor covering 1 due to the inclination of the same and thus provide a certain retention function, which enhances the filtering effect ( Figure 5 ).

[0066] In a sixth embodiment according to Figure 6A first and a second section of a composite floor covering 1a, 1b are provided. The first composite floor section 1a forms a verge that essentially corresponds to the exemplary embodiments explained above. This composite floor section 1a has a plurality of filter fleece sections 3, which are arranged obliquely relative to the underside and the top side of the composite floor covering 1. The inclination of the filter fleece sections 3 is such that they are inclined in the same direction as the composite floor covering 1, with the inclination being steeper, whereby they direct the water to the underside of the composite floor covering 1a. The composite floor section 1a can also be formed without filter fleece sections 3 or with the arrangements of the filter fleece sections 3 shown above.

[0067] On the side facing away from the bound base layer, the second composite floor section 1b is arranged at abutment with the first composite floor section 1a. The second composite floor section 1b forms a drainage trough 7. A filter fleece 2 is arranged beneath each of the two composite floor sections, which are laterally raised in a trough-like manner on the end faces of the composite floor sections 1a, 1b.

[0068] The second composite floor section 1b also contains internal filter fleece sections 3, which are strip-shaped and arranged parallel to the underside of the composite floor section 1b. These internal filter fleece sections 3 can be modified in the same way as those of the exemplary embodiments explained above.

[0069] In the Figure 71 shows a schematic cross-sectional view of a percolation basin 16 provided with the composite floor covering 1 according to the invention and having a humus-sand mixture 8 thereon. A water-permeable gravel layer 15 is arranged beneath the covering. The composite floor covering 1 serves as a permanent filter. Here, it may be expedient to keep the porosity of the composite floor covering 1 low, so that a certain retention function is also achieved. The composite floor covering 1 has internal filter fleece sections 3, which are arranged offset from one another in two planes. In such a locally limited application, such as a percolation basin, in which large quantities of water are filtered, it may also be expedient to provide several planes of internal filter fleece sections 3.Preferably, the different levels of the inner filter fleece sections 3 have an increasingly lower porosity towards the bottom, so that the upper levels initially filter out the coarse material and the lower levels filter the increasingly finer material.

[0070] In the Figure 8 A schematic cross-sectional view of the composite floor covering 1 according to the invention is shown when used in a soccer field, wherein a dynamic layer 10 is placed on the composite floor covering 1 and, further on top of that, a soccer field artificial turf. Beneath the covering, as in the previously described embodiments, there is an unbound base layer 5 and sections of gravel 11 (preferably 16 / 32 mm grading curve) in which drainage pipes 12 are arranged. The dynamic layer can also be arranged below the composite floor covering 1 or be omitted entirely.

[0071] In the Figures 9 and 10There are two variants of the shaped drainage trough 7 according to the embodiment of the Figure 6 which differ in the different arrangements of the internal filter fleece 2 for coarse and fine filtration (see the Figures 2 to 5 ). In the non-inventive embodiment according to Figure 9 The inner filter fleece sections 3 form approximately V-shaped grooves in cross-section, preferably extending in the longitudinal direction, which filter water very efficiently. The embodiment according to Figure 10 the strip-shaped, inner filter fleece sections 3 are aligned horizontally.

[0072] In the Figure 11A schematic cross-sectional view of the composite flooring according to the invention is shown when used in a tennis court, wherein a base layer 14 is placed on the surface, and further on this a dynamic layer 10 and the tennis court surface layer are placed. Under the surface, just as in the case of the Figure 8 shown embodiment sections with gravel 11, in each of which a drainage pipe 12 is arranged.

[0073] However, the composite floor covering 1 can also form the top layer of a tennis court, with loose quartz sand and / or plastic granules applied to the top layer. Depending on the subsurface, the substructure can be designed with or without drainage pipes. In such an embodiment, an elastic, dynamic layer is preferably arranged beneath the composite floor covering 1, which elastically absorbs shocks.

[0074] What all the above-explained embodiments have in common is that they comprise at least one filter fleece 2, which is preferably arranged on the underside of the composite floor covering 1 and in particular over the entire surface of the composite floor covering.

[0075] The composite floor covering 1 can be regularly cleaned with a cleaning device 17 in order to remove dirt from the pores of the composite floor covering 1 and / or the filter fleece 2.

[0076] For this purpose, the cleaning device 17 has a suction or pressure bar 18, which has a suction nozzle 19 and one or more cleaning nozzles 20. The suction nozzle 19 is connected to a suction pipe 21, which also serves as a holding device for the suction or pressure bar 18. The suction pipe 21 extends into a filter device 22, in which sucked-in water is separated from the dirt. A further suction pipe 23 leads from the filter device 22 and can be connected to a corresponding suction device. The suction device (not shown) is preferably integrated into a street cleaning vehicle. Furthermore, a water line 24 is provided, which leads to the cleaning nozzles 20, from which the water emerges downwards under high pressure. The water line 24 is connected to a water pump (not shown), with which water can be supplied under pressure. In practice, a pressure of over 100 bar has been shown to be very advantageous.

[0077] The cleaning nozzles 20 can be outside the suction nozzle 19 ( Figure 13a ). They can also be arranged inside the suction nozzle 19, as shown in Figure 13b is shown. The Figure 13a and Figure 13b are each a cross-sectional view transverse to the direction of movement of the cleaning device. Figure 12 shows the cleaning device 17 from the front.

[0078] The suction or pressure bar 18 is positioned a few centimeters above the composite floor covering 1 during cleaning. Water or an aqueous solution is introduced into the composite floor covering 1 under pressure using the cleaning nozzles 20. The cleaning water or aqueous cleaning solution is sucked away with the suction nozzle 19. This loosens and removes dirt that has become trapped in the pores of the composite floor covering 1. Thus, a composite floor covering according to the invention can be cleaned, thus regenerating its filtering effect.

[0079] The amount of water supplied is preferably more than 10 l / min, in particular more than 50 l / min, and especially more than 100 l / min. The amount of water supplied can be up to 150 l / min.

[0080] The composite floor covering according to the invention in conjunction with regular cleaning with such a cleaning device 17 allows a permanent filtering effect and thus a permanent absorption of dust particles, in particular rubber abrasion from vehicle tires on the road, which can be reliably collected with the composite floor covering.

[0081] The nonwovens used have a pore size of no more than 100 µm. Such small pore sizes are not possible with conventional fabrics that are not nonwovens. However, there are now technical fabrics that can be woven so tightly that they also have a pore size of no more than 100 µm. These technical fabrics are also considered nonwovens with a pore size of no more than 100 µm within the meaning of the present invention.

[0082] Examples of the invention are given below: 1.
