Description

[0001] The invention relates to a continuous casting mold for a continuous casting plant according to the preamble of claim 1.

[0002] When manufacturing cast products using the continuous casting principle, it is necessary to maintain the desired product quality for the continuous casting mold of a continuous casting plant to be precisely aligned with respect to a support or lifting table on which the continuous casting mold is mounted, and a supporting strand guide located underneath, in order to achieve the desired product quality. State of the art technology involves moving continuous casting molds to a position pre-adjusted in an alignment station using centering pins or fixed reference bushings. However, this conventional positioning of continuous casting molds has the disadvantage that readjustment of the continuous casting mold with the mold rim and mold inserted is not easily possible. In many cases, the continuous casting mold even has to be disassembled into its individual parts for realignment, and several set screws or shims have to be adjusted. This is usually time-consuming.

[0003] Accordingly, the invention is based on the object of simplifying the positioning of a continuous casting mold in a continuous casting plant and also enabling adjustment in the installed state.

[0004] This object is achieved by a continuous casting mold having the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the invention are defined in the dependent claims.

[0005] The present invention relates to a continuous casting mold for a continuous casting plant, comprising a mold cavity defined by at least one mold wall for forming a cast strand, and at least one frame element to which the mold wall is attached. When the mold wall is attached thereto, the frame element can be mounted on a support table and aligned together with the mold wall in a predetermined position on the support table with respect to a reference plane. At least one adjusting device is provided, by means of which the frame element with the mold wall attached thereto can be displaced on the support table in a direction perpendicular to the reference plane, so that a distance between the mold wall and the reference plane can be variably adjusted.

[0006] The invention is based on the essential finding that, by means of the adjustment device, it is possible to quickly perform a basic alignment of the frame element of the continuous casting mold, and thus also of the continuous casting mold itself, with respect to a system reference in the form of a reference plane, which is generally provided on the fixed side or rear edge of the continuous casting mold, during setup of the continuous casting plant. Furthermore, the adjustment device can also be used to correct an alignment deviation detected in the plant with respect to downstream strand guide segment rollers or support grids when the continuous casting mold is installed.

[0007] In an advantageous development of the invention, the adjusting device can comprise a shaft that is rotatably mounted in the frame element. In this case, it is expedient if the shaft is rotatably mounted in the frame element in a vertical orientation. In any case, this shaft makes it possible to generate a force that is applied to the frame element and then transmitted to the support table on which the frame element is mounted, so that the frame element with the mold wall attached to it is moved or displaced on the support table in a direction perpendicular to the reference plane. In this way, the distance between the mold wall and the reference plane can be precisely adjusted or changed to a desired value.

[0008] In an advantageous development of the invention, the shaft can be equipped with actuating means on its upper end face, with which a torque can be applied to the shaft to thereby cause the shaft to rotate or turn around its longitudinal axis. The actuating means can be designed in the form of a wrench opening or the like. Additionally or alternatively, it is possible for the actuating means provided on the upper end face of the shaft to be designed in the form of a servomotor. Such a servomotor can be driven hydraulically, electrically, or pneumatically.

[0009] With regard to the transmission of a torque generated by the adjusting device and the resulting force, which is transferred from the frame element of the continuous casting mold to the support table, it should be specifically noted at this point that no additional device needs to be mounted on the support table for this purpose. This means that no modifications to the support table are required to absorb this force from the frame element. Instead, it is possible for such a force to be transferred or transferred from the frame element to a centering pin of the support table, which is already part of the support table and conventionally serves to center or align the continuous casting mold on the support table. In this context, it should be emphasized that the support table itself is not part of the continuous casting mold according to the invention.Instead, the adjustment device of the continuous casting mold according to the invention is designed in such a way that it can interact with a part of the support table, for example the above-mentioned centering pin, so that, as explained, a force can be transmitted from the frame element to the support table in order to thereby achieve a displacement of the frame element with the mold wall attached to it on the support table in a direction perpendicular to the reference plane.

[0010] The continuous casting mold according to the invention can be moved with its adjustment device on a support table of the continuous casting plant (e.g. in the form of an oscillating lifting table) in relation to the reference plane (the so-called fixed side or trailing edge of the strand). No additional device needs to be mounted on the support table. By mechanically rotating two (preferably vertically) arranged eccentric shafts, a relative movement of lateral frame elements can be generated with the aid of a centering plate with a holder for the eccentric shaft part. Only two adjustment shafts are required per mold in order to be able to quickly correct even transition errors in the plant. In general, the time required for mold alignment, even after copper rework, can be significantly reduced and assembly can be simplified.

[0011] The following advantages can be realized with the help of the present invention: Shortened maintenance times in the workshop, which also results in cost reduction. Reduction of accident risks for operators by minimizing the number of adjustment positions. In the continuous casting plant, any transitional errors detected can be quickly corrected without having to return the entire continuous casting mold to the workshop. Wear effects on strand guide rollers can be compensated for by readjusting the position of the continuous casting mold on the support table relative to the reference plane or by setting it to a predetermined value.

[0012] Embodiments of the invention are described in detail below with reference to a simplified schematic drawing. They show: Fig. 1 is a schematically simplified plan view of a continuous casting mold according to the invention, Fig. 2 is a schematically simplified plan view of a continuous casting mold according to a further embodiment of the invention, Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the continuous casting mold according to the invention of Fig. 2 and two lateral lifting tables on which the continuous casting mold can be mounted. Fig. 4 a plan view of the continuous casting mold from Fig. 2 , Fig. 5a, 5b, 5c Details of components of an adjustment device of the continuous casting mold according to the invention. Fig. 6 a perspective view of a support table on which the continuous casting mold according to the invention can be mounted, Figs. 7-11 various views of positions at which an adjustment device of the continuous casting mold according to the invention is arranged in an associated frame element, Figs. 12a-12d Details of components of an adjustment device of the continuous casting mold according to the invention according to a further embodiment, and Fig. 13 a perspective view of a mold cover which is part of the continuous casting mold according to the invention.

[0013] Below, with reference to the Fig. 1 bis 13 Preferred embodiments of a continuous casting mold 10 according to the invention are explained below. Identical features in the drawings are provided with the same reference numerals. It is specifically noted that the drawing is merely simplified and, in particular, not to scale.

[0014] Fig. 1 shows a schematically simplified plan view of a continuous casting mold 10 according to the invention, which is used in a continuous casting plant (not shown). This continuous casting mold 10 comprises a mold cavity 14 for forming a cast strand (not shown), wherein the mold cavity 14 is delimited by at least one mold wall 12. Specifically, the continuous casting mold 10 shown here comprises a broad side wall 12.1(F), which is provided on a fixed side F of the continuous casting mold 10, and a broad side wall 12.1(L) arranged opposite thereto, which is provided on a loose side L of the continuous casting mold 10.

[0015] The mold cavity 14 is delimited on the sides by narrow side walls 12.2.

[0016] In the presentation of Fig. 1 "G" indicates a casting direction for a cast strand, which is produced by means of the continuous casting mold 10 in an associated continuous casting plant.

[0017] In addition to a central frame element 16, the continuous casting mold 10 according to the invention also comprises lateral frame elements, namely a left lateral frame element 16.1 and a right lateral frame element 16.2. These two lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2 are in the Fig. 1 shown or designated in the direction of casting direction G.

[0018] The continuous casting mould 10 can be placed with its frame elements 16, 16.1, 16.2, if the mould walls 12.1, 12.2 are attached thereto, on a support table 18 (cf. Fig. 3 , Fig. 6 ) and are aligned together with the mold walls 12.1, 12.2 in a predetermined position on the support table 18 with respect to a reference plane R. This reference plane is shown in the illustration of Fig. 1 symbolized by a corresponding dash-dotted line and designated "R." Such a reference plane R is generally assigned to the fixed side F of the continuous casting mold 10.

[0019] An adjustment device 20 is provided in each of the two lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2. With the aid of these adjustment devices 20, it is possible to move the frame element 16 or the two lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2 with the attached mold walls 12.1, 12.2 on the support table 18 in a direction perpendicular to the reference plane. This will be explained separately elsewhere below.

[0020] In the embodiment of the continuous casting mold 10 according to the invention of Fig. 1 A C-shaped frame construction is provided. This means that a broad side support 13.1, which is provided on the fixed side F of the mold, is firmly connected to the two lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2. In contrast, a broad side support 13.2, which is provided on the loose side L of the mold, is held between the two lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2 by clamping and is accordingly in the Fig. 1 shown in dashed lines.

[0021] The continuous casting mold 10 according to the invention can also be equipped with a circumferential frame construction, also referred to as an "O-frame". This is shown in a simplified plan view in the Fig. 2 Here, the two lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2 are each firmly connected to the broad side supports 13.1, 13.2 located therebetween. Accordingly, all these components or parts of the continuous casting mold 10 according to the invention are shown in this embodiment in the Fig. 2 each shown in solid lines. Apart from the above-mentioned modification regarding the associated frame construction, the design of Fig. 2 without changing the design of Fig.1 This also applies to the two adjustment devices 20, which are provided in the lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2.

[0022] The perspective view of Fig. 3 clarifies that a support table 18 can be designed in the form of two lateral lifting table units 18.1, 18.2. Such a lifting table unit 18 is also shown in the perspective view of Fig. 6 shown.

[0023] The lateral lifting table units 18.1, 18.2 are each equipped with a centering pin 19 and clamping bodies K.

[0024] The centering pin 19 is provided in a fixed position on a respective lifting table unit 18.1, 18.2. As indicated by the Fig. 6 As illustrated, the reference plane R, which serves to align the continuous casting mold 10 according to the invention on its fixed side F, runs adjacent to the centering pin 19.

[0025] The clamping bodies K can each be actuated in the vertical direction and are preloaded by disc springs (not shown) with a force acting vertically downwards.

[0026] In the presentation of Fig. 3 The continuous casting mold of Fig. 2 above the two lifting table units 18.1, 18.2. This shows that the continuous casting mold 10 with its two lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2 can be placed or placed on the respective associated lifting table units 18.1, 18.2 from above.

[0027] In the Fig. 4 the continuous casting mold 10 according to the embodiment of Fig. 2 or Fig. 3 shown again in a top view. This shows, among other things, the broadside beam 13.1 provided on the fixed side F and the broadside beam 13.2 provided on the loose side L.

[0028] For a secure attachment of the lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2 to the associated lifting table units 18.1, 18.2, brackets H with through-openings 37 are provided on the frame elements 16.1, 16.2, through which the clamping bodies K penetrate from below. For a secure connection of the frame elements 16.1, 16.2 to a respective support surface of the lifting table units 18.1, 18.2, the clamping bodies K are pulled downward by their associated disc springs after the brackets H of the frame elements 16.1, 16.2 have been placed on the associated lifting table units 18.1, 18.2, so that a resulting clamping force acts on the brackets H of the frame elements 16.1, 16.2. As a result of this clamping force, the frame elements 16.1, 16.2 of the continuous casting mold 10 according to the invention are then relative to the support table 18 or the two lateral lifting table units 18.1, 18.2, and thus also the mold cavity 14 of the continuous casting mold 10 is fixed in a predetermined position relative to the support table 18.

[0029] In the Fig. 5a bis Fig. 5c Individual components of the adjusting device 20 are shown according to a possible embodiment and explained below as follows: The adjusting device 20 comprises a shaft 22, which is received in the frame element 16 (or the lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2) so as to be rotatable about its longitudinal axis A. The rotatable mounting of the shaft 22 in the frame element 16 is expediently provided such that the shaft 22 is received in the frame element 16 so as to be rotatable in a vertical orientation. In other words, the longitudinal axis A of the shaft 22 is then aligned vertically.

[0030] On its upper end face 23, the shaft 22 is equipped with actuating means 25, which can be a predetermined jaw width in a mechanically simple manner. Accordingly, it is possible to place a suitable wrench or the like onto this jaw width and then, by rotating it, set the shaft 22 in rotation about its longitudinal axis A. Alternatively, a servo motor (not shown) or the like can be provided on the upper end face 23 of the shaft 22 for the purpose of rotating it about the longitudinal axis A.

[0031] At a lower end 24 of the shaft 22 or adjacent thereto, a cam 30 is provided which has an eccentric outer contour 31 in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A of the shaft 22 and relative to the longitudinal axis A of the shaft 22 (cf. Fig. 5a ). From the Fig. 5b , which shows a front view of the lower end 24 of the shaft 22, it can be seen that the outer contour 31 of the cam 30 is round in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A of the shaft 22.

[0032] The adjustment device 20 according to Fig. 5 comprises a centering plate 26 which is in the Fig. 5c shown in a plan view. This centering plate 26 has a first opening 27 and a second opening 28.

[0033] The first opening 27 of the centering plate 26 fulfills the function of being able to be brought into a fixed operative connection with the stationary centering pin 19 provided on the support table 18 (or the respective lateral lifting table units 18.1, 18.2). For this purpose, the dimensions of the first opening 27 are matched to the outer dimensions of the centering pin 19 such that the centering pin 19 can be received or inserted into the first opening 27 of the centering plate 26 when the centering plate 26 is placed on the centering pin 19 on a lifting table unit 18.1, 18.2. When placed in this way, the elevation of the centering pin 19 then passes through the first opening 27 of the centering plate 26 from below, with the result that the centering plate 26 is then positioned relative to and parallel to the support surface of the lifting table unit 18.1, 18.2 is fixed in the translational direction.

[0034] Fig. 7 shows a simplified sectional view through the continuous casting mold 10 and illustrates a possible position for the rotatable mounting of the shaft 22 in the frame element 16. As already explained above, such a rotatable mounting of the shaft 22 within the frame element 16 is designed such that the longitudinal axis A of the shaft 22 runs in the vertical direction.

[0035] The rotatable mounting of the shaft 22 in the frame element 16 is provided such that the outer contour of the cam 30, which is provided at the lower end 24 of the shaft 22, engages the second opening 28 of the centering plate 26. The outer contour of the cam 30 is in contact with the edge regions of the second opening 28, resulting in a movable operative connection between the shaft 22 and the centering plate 26.

[0036] This makes it possible for a force to be transmitted via the eccentric outer contour 31 of the cam 30 to the centering plate 26 fixed to the centering pin 19 when the shaft 22 rotates about its longitudinal axis A, resulting in a translational displacement of the frame element 16 on the support table 18 in a direction perpendicular to the reference plane R.

[0037] The top view of Fig. 5c clarifies that the second opening 28 of the centering plate 26 is designed in the form of an elongated hole. The width of this elongated hole 28 is adapted to the diameter D of the round outer contour of the cam 30.

[0038] The continuous casting mold 10 can be as in Fig. 3 Illustrated from above, with their associated lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2, are placed from above onto the lateral lifting table units 18.1, 18.2 located below. In a known manner, the clamping bodies K penetrate the through openings 37 provided on the brackets H of the lifting table units 18.1, 18.2 from below, so that a clamping force can be exerted on the brackets H of the lifting table units 18.1, 18.2 by means of the clamping bodies K.

[0039] The invention functions as follows: If a displacement of the lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2 on their respective associated lifting table units 18.1, 18.2 is desired, the clamping bodies K are actuated and thereby pressed vertically upwards against the force of the disc springs. This causes the clamping bodies K to lift off an upper edge of the through-openings 37. In a position in which these clamping bodies K are then pressed upwards against the force of the disc springs, the clamping force on the brackets H is removed, thus enabling a displacement of the brackets H or the lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2 on the lifting table units 18.1, 18.2.

[0040] To realize such a displacement of the continuous casting mold 10 and its associated lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2 on the support table 18 and its associated lateral lifting table units 18.1, 18.2, a torque is applied to the shaft 22 of an adjusting device 20 at its upper end face 23, whereby the shaft 22 is then set in rotation about its longitudinal axis A. As a result, the outer contour 31 of the cam 30 moves within the second opening 28 of the centering plate 26. Due to the explained eccentricity of the cam 30, when the shaft 22 rotates about its longitudinal axis A, a force is transmitted to the centering plate 26 fixed to the centering pin 19, with the result that this leads to a displacement of the frame element 16 (or the lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2) of the continuous casting mold 10 in a direction perpendicular to the reference plane R.Such a translational displacement in a direction of movement perpendicular to the reference plane R is shown in the . Fig. 5c symbolized by a (double) arrow 21.

[0041] By the above-explained displacement of the continuous casting mold 10 and its frame element 16 (or the lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2), it is possible to precisely adjust the distance of the wide side wall 12.1(F) on the fixed side F of the continuous casting mold 10, also referred to as the "working side copper plate", to the reference plane R to a predetermined value. This distance is shown in the plan view of Fig. 1 (or Fig. 2 ) is denoted by "dx".

[0042] In other words: In each of the two lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2 of the continuous casting mold 10, a shaft 2 is rotatably mounted, preferably in a vertical orientation. A cam 30 is provided at the lower end 24 of the shaft, which has an eccentric shape in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis A of the shaft 22. The outer contour 31 of the cam 30 engages the second opening 28 of the preferably hardened centering plate 26, which, with its first opening 27, engages positively over the stationary centering pin 19, as explained above (cf. Fig. 10c ). The rotary movement of the shaft 22 then allows the continuous casting mold 10 to be moved relative to the centering pin 19 on the support table 18 (or the associated lifting table units 18.1, 18.2) relative to the reference plane R (or the rear edge). This allows the frame element 16 of the continuous casting mold 10 with the attached wide and narrow side walls 12.1, 12.2 (i.e., the "mold frame with copper plate") to be pushed to a desired or predetermined position on the reference plane R, which is as parallel and congruent as possible (cf. Fig. 1 , Fig. 2 ).

[0043] In Fig. 8, Fig. 9 and Fig. 10 various views of the continuous casting mold 10 are shown to illustrate a possible position for a rotatably mounted arrangement of the shaft 22 in or on the frame element 16. It can also be seen from this that a rotatable actuation of the shaft 22 is possible, in particular from its upper end face 23.

[0044] The sectional view according to the Fig. 10(c) is in the Fig. 10(b) in a view from below and in the Fig. 11 shown in a perspective view from below. Here, the translational direction of movement 21, which occurs for the frame element 16 upon rotation of the shaft 22 about its longitudinal axis A, is symbolized by a double arrow and labeled "21."

[0045] Below, with reference to the Fig. 12 the adjusting device 20 and its associated components are shown and explained according to a further embodiment of the invention.

[0046] According to the embodiment of Fig. 12 the adjusting device 20 comprises a shaft 20 which is arranged in the same way as in the embodiment of Fig. 5 is rotatably mounted about its longitudinal axis A in the frame element 16.

[0047] In contrast to the embodiment of Fig. 5 the shaft 22 is according to the embodiment of Fig. 12 designed in such a way that it is round in cross-section at its lower end 24 or in an area adjacent thereto and has an external toothing 34 there (cf. Fig. 12a ).

[0048] Fig. 12b shows the lower end 24 of the shaft 22 from its end face. For the embodiment shown here, it can be seen that the external toothing 34 is formed along the outer circumference of the shaft 22 only in a partial area thereof. Alternatively, it is also possible for the external toothing 34 to be formed completely circumferentially on the outer circumferential surface of the shaft 22 at its lower end 24 or adjacent thereto.

[0049] The adjusting device 20 according to the embodiment of Fig. 12 comprises a centering plate 26, of which two possible variants are shown, namely on the one hand in the Fig. 12c , and on the other hand in the Fig. 12d .

[0050] In the variant according to Fig. 12c The centering plate 26 has a first opening 27 and a second opening 28 in the form of an elongated hole. The first opening 27 of the centering plate 26 serves the same purpose as the first opening 27 of the centering plate 26 according to the embodiment Fig. 5 , so that in order to avoid repetition, the explanations for the Fig. 5 Specifically, this means that by means of the first opening 27, a positive connection of the centering plate 26 with the centering pin 19 on or at the support table 18 is possible.

[0051] With respect to the second opening 28 of the centering plate 26 according to the Fig. 12c It is specifically emphasized at this point that a toothing 32 is formed on a longitudinal side edge 29 of this elongated hole 28.

[0052] In the adjusting device 20 according to the embodiment of Fig. 12a -Fig. 12c the shaft 12 is rotatably mounted in the frame element 16 of the continuous casting mold 10 in such a way that the external toothing 34, which as explained is formed on the lower end 24 of the shaft 22, is in rolling engagement with the toothing 32 on the longitudinal side edge 29 of the second opening 28 formed in the form of an elongated hole. If the shaft 22 is set in rotation about its longitudinal axis, the rolling engagement of the external toothing 34 of the shaft 22 with the toothing 32 formed on the longitudinal side edge 29 of the elongated hole 28 results in a force transmission from the shaft 22 to the centering plate 26, which, as already explained, is positively connected to the centering pin 19 and is thus fixed to or on the support table 18. Accordingly, the force generated by the shaft 22, which is transmitted to the centering plate 26, causes a translational displacement of the frame element 16 on the support table 18 in a direction perpendicular to the reference plane R.

[0053] Fig. 12d shows another possible embodiment for the centering plate 26, which is a simplified alternative to the variant of Fig. 12c In the variant of Fig. 12d the centering plate 26 has, instead of a second window, a stepped area with an elongated section on which a toothing 32 is formed. In this case, a rotatably mounted arrangement of the shaft 22 in the frame element 16 of the continuous casting mold 10 takes place such that the external toothing 34, which is formed on the shaft 22 at the lower end 24 or adjacent thereto, is in rolling engagement with the toothing 32 of the centering plate 26. As a result, it is then possible in the same way as in the variant of Fig. 12c It is possible that when the shaft 22 rotates about its longitudinal axis A, a force is transmitted to the centering plate 26 fixed to the centering pin 19, with the result that a translational displacement of the frame element 16 on the support table 18 results in a direction perpendicular to the reference plane R.

[0054] With regard to the variants of an adjustment device 20 both according to Fig. 12a, 12b und 12c as well as according to Fig. 12a, 12b und 12d It is understood that these are alternatives to the embodiment of Fig. 5 represent.

[0055] Finally, the Fig. 13 , which shows a perspective view of a mold cover 38. Special openings or recesses 39 are provided in this mold cover 39, namely at the points where an adjusting device 20 (cf. Fig. 5 , Fig. 12) with its associated shaft 12. Thus, through these openings or recesses 39, it is possible to actuate the shaft 22 of an adjusting device 20 from its upper end face 23 when the mold cover 38 is mounted. In other words, the adjusting devices 20 and the associated shafts 22 can be actuated without requiring disassembly of the mold cover 38.

[0056] Finally, it should be noted that the adjusting devices 20, which, as explained, are provided in the lateral frame elements 16.1, 16.2 of the continuous casting mold 10 according to the invention, can also be actuated independently of one another in order to set the associated shaft 22 in rotation about its respective longitudinal axis A and thereby achieve a displacement of the associated frame element 16.1, 16.2 perpendicular to the reference plane R.
