Abstract
Description
Technical field
[0001] The invention relates to a tying device and a method for tying a wire coil, in particular for use in fully automated systems. State of the art
[0002] To bind a wire coil, the coil is wrapped N times at one or more points with a tape, preferably adhesive tape, to prevent it from unraveling into its individual windings and becoming unmanageable in subsequent production steps. Binding is now preferably carried out automatically. These automated binding machines typically have a high degree of autonomy, meaning the tape storage or spool capacity is approximately 20–500 m, so that downtime is only necessary at long intervals. Such fully automated binding machines can be used both in stationary applications, i.e., permanently mounted in a system, or in mobile applications, for example, as part of a robot end effector. A trend for future applications is toward shorter processing times for each wire coil.
[0003] The German patent application DE 10 2019 121 634 A1 relates to a coil tying device and a method for tying a wound, elongated material. The document describes how, to pick up a coil using a holder, the coil is positioned in the center of a disk and held stationary there. The disk is then rotated, for example, by at least 180°, so that a coil tying roller wound with a section of adhesive tape is swung over the coil, and the adhesive underside of the tape section makes contact with the coil to be tied.
[0004] The binder and the prior art method have at least the disadvantage that they are too slow for future applications. Description of the invention
[0005] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a device and a method for binding a conductor coil that enable shorter processing times and / or result in a better bound coil.
[0006] The aforementioned problem is solved by a clamping device according to claim 1, a clamping device according to claim 9, and a method according to claim 12. Further advantageous embodiments of the invention can be found in the dependent claims, the description, and the drawings.
[0007] In particular, the above-mentioned problem is solved by a binder for tying off a conductor coil comprising a rotatable binder wheel with a slot, wherein the conductor coil can be inserted into the slot up to an axis of rotation of the binder wheel, a spool body rotatably attached to the binder wheel for receiving a section of tape from a tape, wherein the conductor coil can be tied off with the tape section, a tape fixing and cutting unit for cutting the tape section from the tape and for fixing a free end of the tape, wherein the spool body is arranged offset to a longitudinal axis of the slot on the binder wheel, and a free end of the cut tape section can be provided between the spool body and the tape fixing and cutting unit transversely to the longitudinal axis of the slot, so that the conductor coil can come into contact with the free end of the cut tape section when inserted.
[0008] The present binding device has the advantage that the free end of the tape section can be optimally positioned to ensure immediate adhesion between the tape section and the conductor coil, and binding begins as soon as the conductor coil is inserted into the gap. This reduces binding time and cycle times at the binding device. In particular, it reduces so-called main times, i.e., the time a conductor coil spends on the binding device. The offset arrangement of the spool body to the longitudinal axis of the gap allows the free end of the tape section to be aligned perpendicular to the gap. Furthermore, the tape section used to bind the conductor coil has a predetermined length. This length can be freely selected by winding it onto the spool body. The respective tape section is separated from the tape before binding and can be used entirely for this purpose. The separation of the tape and tape section, as well as the winding, take place during idle times, i.e., times when no wire coil is being processed at the tape tie, so that subsequent tape tying can begin and be carried out immediately upon insertion of a wire coil into the gap. This reduces the tape tie's cycle time. Furthermore, the free end of the tape section can be fixed when positioned perpendicular to the gap. For fixing, the free end of the tape section can be clamped between a projection on a pressure element and a clamping element. Alternatively, an adhesive surface of the free end of the tape section can be fixed by adhering it to a free end, specifically an adhesive surface, of a clamping element. The fixing mechanism prevents the formation of tassels, where the free end would be uncontrolled, and also creates a (slight) counter-tension on the tape section, resulting in a tighter winding when tied. Finally, this tie-off device has a simple design, without, for example, a complex centering mechanism.
[0009] Preferably, a clamping element serves as a counterpart to a cutting edge of the tape fixing and cutting unit during cutting, wherein, in particular, a free end of a clamp on the clamping element serves to hold the free end of the cut tape section in place, and wherein the clamping element is pivotable towards the reel body so that the free end of the cut tape section can be positioned centrally in the gap. By pivoting the clamping element, especially with the free end of the clamp, the held free end of the tape section can be positioned at a predetermined position. For example, the free end of the tape section can be positioned in the middle of the gap to achieve optimal adhesion of the free end to an inserted wire coil. When inserting, the foremost part of the conductor coil is usually located essentially in the middle of the gap, so the free end should first touch the conductor coil there to ensure direct adhesion.
[0010] Preferably, the tape, ideally from a storage unit, can be supplied to the reel by means of the tape fixing and cutting unit. The storage unit allows for the supply of a large quantity of tape, enabling numerous binding operations to be performed before downtime occurs due to storage changes. The tape fixing and cutting unit allows for the precise supply of a free end of the tape at a specific position, for example, at the second position for transferring it to the reel or at the third position when cutting the tape section from the tape and fixing a new free end. A free end of the tape is fixed and thus readily available at all times.
[0011] Preferably, the tape fixing and cutting unit is arranged separately and at a distance from the clamping element. This separation allows both units to be moved independently. The setup and the binding process are thus more flexible. The spaced arrangement offers possibilities for efficient positioning, for example, close to the actual point of use, thereby saving time, for instance, when moving one or both units.
[0012] Preferably, the clamping element is movable towards the tape clamping and cutting unit. This mobility prevents collisions during the clamping process. In particular, the components are moved out of the rotating zone of the coil body. An additional advantage is that, due to the movement of the clamping element towards the tape clamping and cutting unit, both units travel shorter distances than if only one unit were moved. The ability to move both units allows the cutting process to be better adapted to the tape and the wire coil. The movement of the clamping element towards the tape clamping and cutting unit can occur simultaneously with the movement of the tape clamping and cutting unit to its third position, i.e., towards the clamping element. This simultaneous movement saves time.
[0013] Preferably, the banding tool further comprises a pressure element arranged on the banding wheel, which is configured to apply a predetermined pressure to the conductor coil. Unlike brushes or similar devices, the pressure element allows for a constant and preset pressure with which the band is pressed onto the inserted conductor coil. This increases the reliability of the banding result.
[0014] Preferably, the pressure element and the coil former lie in the same plane, with this plane preferably being parallel and offset from the plane of the binding wheel. This arrangement allows the pressure element to exert pressure on the tape and the coil from the insertion of the conductor coil until the end of the binding process, thus securely pressing the tape against the coil. Furthermore, the coil former and the pressure element are clearly visible and accessible from the outside, allowing for easy inspection of their condition and quick replacement of both components. This rapid replacement reduces downtime.
[0015] Preferably, the pressure element is composed of at least two identical segments that together form a closed pressure surface. During pressure application, the individual segments conform to the coil, ensuring that approximately the same pressure force is applied to each curved section of the coil. This allows for homogeneous pressure application. The individual segments are preferably made of a hard material, such as hardened steel, so that no (or virtually no) wear occurs. A closed pressure surface is achieved by arranging the segments directly against each other. Gaps and / or height differences at the transitions between the adjacent segments do not constitute an interruption of the closed pressure surface. In particular, the pressure surface is permanently present as a closed pressure surface during use, so that no additional mechanics (or work steps) are necessary to bring the individual segments together to form a closed or common pressure surface.
[0016] The above-mentioned problem is further solved in particular by a binder for tying off a conductor coil comprising a rotatable binder wheel with a slot, wherein the conductor coil can be inserted into the slot up to an axis of rotation of the binder wheel, a coil body rotatably attached to the binder wheel for receiving a section of tape from a tape, wherein the conductor coil can be tied off with the tape section, and a pressure element arranged on the binder wheel, which is configured to apply a predetermined pressure force to the tape section on the conductor coil, wherein the pressure element is made up of at least two identical segments which together form a closed pressure surface.
[0017] Since the pressure element is located on the binding wheel, it moves with the wheel and encircles the conductor coil during binding. This ensures that the tape section is pressed down at every bound point of the conductor coil, resulting in a more secure binding. The segmented design of the pressure surface allows for variations in its size. Furthermore, a design using identical segments is more efficient than using individually varying segments.
[0018] Preferably, each of the at least two identical segments has a concave contact surface that, upon contact with the conductor coil, can extend partially around the conductor coil in its circumferential direction. The concave contact surfaces extend, in particular, in a direction transverse to the plane in which the conductor coil is arranged on the binding agent, at least partially around the conductor coil. The concave contact surfaces enable better adaptation to the curved (outer) shape of the conductor coil, allowing the strip segment to be pressed more effectively against the conductor coil, thus resulting in a better-bound conductor coil. Better-bound means, in particular, a more compact, efficient, and / or reliable bond.
[0019] Preferably, each of the at least two identical segments can be individually displaced relative to the pressure element, resulting in a curved pressure surface. The displacement is preferably linear. Linear displacement of the segments is easy to implement and requires little maintenance. The segments are preferably spring-loaded. Displacement preferably occurs against a spring force. The displacement of the individual segments is driven by a contact pressure exerted on each segment individually by the wire coil. The curved pressure surface allows for better adaptation of the pressure surface to the (outer) shape of the wire coil, along the wire coil, in the plane in which the wire coil is arranged on the binding agent. This improved adaptation allows the strip section to be pressed more effectively against the wire coil, resulting in a better-bound wire coil. The curved contact surface can be concave or convex with respect to the conductor coil. In particular, the curvature of the contact surface can change during the setting process, i.e., as it rotates around the conductor coil. This variable curvature ensures optimal pressure from the pressure element onto the conductor coil at every moment during the setting process.
[0020] The above-mentioned problem is further solved in particular by a method for tying off a conductor coil, in particular with a tying device comprising a rotatable tying wheel with a gap, a coil body rotatably attached to the tying wheel, and a tape fixing and cutting unit, wherein the method comprises the following steps: receiving a tape section onto the coil body, cutting the tape section from the tape by means of the tape fixing and cutting unit, providing a free end of the tape section between the coil body and the tape fixing and cutting unit transversely to a longitudinal axis of the gap on the tying wheel, so that the conductor coil can come into contact with the free end, inserting the conductor coil into the gap up to an axis of rotation of the tying wheel, and tying off the conductor coil with the tape section by rotating the tying wheel.
[0021] The present method has the advantage that bonding begins directly upon insertion of the conductor coil, as reliable contact between the coil and the free end of the strip section is established immediately. No intermediate steps are necessary. This makes the process fast and allows for short cycle times. Furthermore, the only movement of the conductor coil is along the gap, in and out. Shifting the coil perpendicular to the gap is unnecessary. This also increases the speed of the process.
[0022] Preferably, the tape section is loaded onto the reel by rotating the reel. This rotation allows the tape section to be loaded onto the reel relatively easily. No additional aids, such as grippers or similar devices, are necessary. Furthermore, the tape section can be of any length.
[0023] Preferably, a free end of the tape can be positioned on the reel body by means of the movable tape clamping and cutting unit to receive the tape section onto the reel body. By positioning the free end on the reel body, the tape section can be wound tightly onto the reel body. The contact point and any pressure applied by the free end to the reel body can be adjusted via the tape clamping and cutting unit, depending on the type of tape.
[0024] Preferably, the method further comprises the step of pressing the strip section against the conductor coil using a pressure element on the binding wheel, particularly for the duration from the insertion of the conductor coil until the end of the binding process. By pressing the strip from insertion until the end of the binding process, additional shifting, for example in the direction of the binding wheel as in the prior art, is eliminated. This accelerates the binding process compared to the prior art.
[0025] Preferably, the binding process is completed by having the binding wheel perform an additional rotation after the tape section has been transferred from the spool to the conductor coil. During this additional rotation, the tape is pressed completely against the conductor coil by the pressure element. This prevents the formation of tangles.
[0026] The following description of exemplary embodiments is given with reference to the accompanying figures. These show: Fig. 1 a side view of an embodiment of a binder in a basic state; Fig. 2 the side view from Fig. 1 with the tape tie in a first state for attaching a tape section to a spool body; Fig. 3 the side view from Fig. 1 with the tape tensioner in a second state for winding the tape section onto the spool body; Fig. 4 the side view from Fig. 1with the tape tie in a third state before the tape section is cut from a tape; Fig. 5 the side view from Fig. 1 with the separator in a fourth state for separating the tape section from the tape; Fig. 6 the side view from Fig. 1 with the binder in a fifth state, ready to receive a conductor coil; Fig. 7 the side view from Fig. 1 with the clamp in a sixth state during insertion of the conductor coil; Fig. 8 the side view from Fig. 1 with the binder in its initial state and the bound conductor coil in front of it; Fig. 9 a perspective view of Fig. 1with a focus on the embodiment of a pressure element; Fig. 10 a sectional view in the insertion direction of the coil into the illustrated embodiment of the binder with the pressure element on an outside of the coil; and Fig. 11 a sectional view in the insertion direction of the coil into the illustrated embodiment of the binder with the pressure element on an inside of the coil.
[0027] The following section describes exemplary implementations in detail with reference to the figures.
[0028] Fig. 1Figure 1 shows an embodiment of a cable tie 1 for tying off a wire coil 2. The cable tie 1 has at least one rotatable tie wheel 10 with a gap 12. The tie wheel 10 is rotatable about an axis of rotation D relative to a frame 4 of the cable tie 1. The gap 12 extends at least to the axis of rotation D, or the center of the tie wheel 10. The gap 12 is wide enough to accommodate a section of the wire coil 2 so that the wire coil 2 can be wrapped or tied off in this section with a band 8. The wire coil 2 can be inserted into the gap 12 at least up to the axis of rotation D of the tie wheel 10. The center of the tie wheel 10 coincides with the axis of rotation of the tie wheel 10. If the conductor coil 2 is located in the middle or on the axis of rotation D of the binding wheel 10, the binding wheel 10 can rotate without the conductor coil 2 being moved. This makes it possible to wrap or tie off the conductor coil 2 with a band 8, preferably an adhesive tape, using the binding wheel 10.
[0029] For binding, the binding device 1 further comprises a spool 14, which is rotatably attached to the binding wheel 10. The spool 14 is designed to receive a tape section 9 from the tape 8. The spool 14 preferably has its own drive, which can set the spool 14 in rotation. By rotating the spool 14, a tape section 9 of any length can be arranged on the spool 14. The length of the tape section 9 is selected such that it can wrap or bind the conductor coil 2 with a predetermined number of turns.
[0030] The coil former 14 is arranged offset from a longitudinal axis L of the gap 12. This offset arrangement allows the coil former 14 to be positioned on one side of the gap 12 and to align the tape section 9 wound on the coil former 14 transversely to the gap 12. Depending on the position of the tie-off wheel 10, the coil former 14 can be oriented on a top or bottom side O, U relative to the gap 12. The terms top and bottom side O, U refer to an orientation in the Earth's gravitational field or sections of a vertical axis Z that is bisected horizontally X by the longitudinal axis L of the gap 12 in the basic position of the tie-off wheel 10 (see figure). Fig. 1 ).
[0031] The tape tie 1 further comprises at least one tape fixing and cutting unit 30 for cutting the tape section 9 from the tape 8. The tape fixing and cutting unit 30 preferably comprises means for mechanical cutting or separating, such as a blade or cutting edge 34. In alternative embodiments, other cutting means, such as lasers, can also be used.
[0032] As a counterpart during cutting, the illustrated tie-off 1 also has a clamping element 40. The clamping element 40 comprises at least one clamp 42, which forms a free end at one end. The free end of the clamp 42 has at least one adhesion surface 44 (see figure). Fig. 5The adhesive surface 44 is designed to allow the adhesive side (i.e., the sticky side of the adhesive tape) of a free end 9a of the cut tape section 9 to adhere to it. By adhering the free end 9a to the adhesive surface 44, the free end 9a is fixed in place. This fixation or adhesion prevents the formation of a so-called "flag" effect, which could cause the free end 9a to flap around uncontrollably. Even if the free end 9a does not adhere or should detach again, it is still closer to the coil than in the prior art. The adhesive surface 44 can, in particular, have a rough or coated surface to improve its adhesive properties. In addition to the free end 9a adhering to the strip section 9 when it is cut from the strip 8, the free end 9a should also be easily detachable when the conductor coil 2 is inserted into the gap 12, so that the free end 9a of the strip section 9 connects quickly and securely with the inserted conductor coil 2. In an alternative embodiment, the free end 9a of the strip section 9 is clamped between a projection 17 on the pressure element 16 and the bracket 42 or the adhesive surface 44 until the free end 9a is released from the clamp when the coil 2 is inserted. All embodiments have in common that, due to the fixation and / or shortness of the free end 9a, unintentional contact between an adhesive surface of the free end 9a and an adhesive surface on the strip section 9 is prevented.
[0033] In particular, the ironing element 40 is pivotable in the direction of the coil body 14. The pivoting movement can be controlled by a joint 46 (see figure). Fig. 6) on the bracket element 40. The pivoting movement allows the free end 9a of the cut strip section 9, when it adheres to the contact surface 44, to be positioned centrally in relation to the gap 12. The pivoting movement can be triggered by a spring mechanism, so that the bracket element 40 can be pushed away from the coil body 14 via the joint 44 when the conductor coil 2 is inserted.
[0034] The illustrated tape fixing and cutting unit 30 is further configured to fix a free end 8a of the tape 8. The tape 8 is preferably supplied from a storage unit 20. The storage unit 20 can be located at or away from the tie-off unit 1. The storage unit 20 contains large quantities of the tape 8. In the illustrated embodiment, the tape 8 is supplied to the tape fixing and cutting unit 30 via feed means 22. The tape fixing and cutting unit 30 has at least one surface or tape fixing 32 configured to fix the free end 8a of the tape 8. In one embodiment, the tape fixing 32 can include a suction mechanism to fix the free end 8a.
[0035] The tape fixing and cutting unit 30 is movable relative to the binding wheel 10, so that the free end 8a of the tape 8 can be positioned on the spool body 14 or the clamping element 40. In particular, the tape fixing and cutting unit 30 can be moved at least between a first, second, and third position FP 1, FP 2, FP 3. The movement is preferably a linear displacement. In the first position FP 1, the tape fixing and cutting unit 30 is spaced apart from the binding wheel 10, so that no unwanted contact can occur between the tape fixing and cutting unit 30 and components on the binding wheel 10 (see figure). Fig. 1 ). In the second position FP 2, the tape fixing and cutting unit 30 can contact the spool body 14 (see. Fig. 2Upon contact, the free end 8a of the tape 8 can be transferred to the spool body 14. The tape fixation 32 preferably has a flexible surface so that the transfer can occur without damage or hard contact. The tape fixation 32 preferably has a springy surface so that the free end 8a of the tape 8 is pressed against the spool body 14. This pressure improves adhesion. In the third position FP 3, the tape fixation and cutting unit 30 is moved so far towards the opening 6 of the tie-off 1 or towards the clamping element 40 that the tape fixation 32 vertically fixes the tape 8, which is vertically aligned by the spool body 14. The term vertical or substantially vertical refers to the representation in Fig. 5 and in other embodiments includes a corresponding alignment perpendicular to the longitudinal axis L of the gap 12.
[0036] The tape fixing and cutting unit 30 is arranged separately and at a distance from the clamping element 40 on the tie-off device 1. As described, the tape fixing and cutting unit 30 can be moved towards the clamping element 40. In the third position FP 3, with the clamping element 40 in its home position (see figure 1), the tape fixing and cutting unit 30 can be moved towards the clamping element 40. Fig. 1 The tape fixing and cutting unit 30 remains spaced apart from the bracket element 40. The bracket element 40 is movable in the direction R towards the tape fixing and cutting unit 30.
[0037] In the illustrated embodiment, the clamping element 1 also has a pressure element 16 (see. Fig. 9The pressure element 16 is arranged on the binding wheel 10. The pressure element 16 is designed to apply a predetermined pressure force to the strip section 9 against the conductor coil 2. In particular, the pressure element 16 has a pressure surface 18 that can be in direct contact with the strip section 9. In the illustrated embodiment, the pressure surface 18 is formed as a type of slider. In alternative embodiments, the pressure surface 18 can be constructed from other components, such as rollers. In particular, the pressure element 16 has at least two segments that together form the pressure surface 18. The pressure surface 18 is preferably spring-mounted and can exert a predetermined pressure force on the strip section 9. If the pressure element 16 has the individual segments, the pressure surface 18 can adapt very well to the curvature of the coil 2 and thus apply the pressure force optimally. In an alternative embodiment, the pressure surface 18 can be formed by a component made of a friction-resistant, elastically deformable material. The pressure surface 18 is preferably movable relative to the pressure element 16 by a width B. This mobility allows the pressure surface 18 to be adjusted to the diameter of the conductor coil 2 or to the force to be applied. Preferably, the pressure element 16 and the coil former 14 lie in a plane XZ. This allows the pressure element 16 to act simultaneously with the coil former 14; that is, while the coil former 14 transfers the wound tape section 9 onto the conductor coil 2, the pressure element 16 can apply a force to the tape section 9 in the direction of the conductor coil 2. This force can improve the durability of the winding. In particular, the plane XZ of coil body 14 and pressure element 16 is parallel offset to the binding wheel plane X`-Z`.It is not necessary to move the conductor coil 2 between the levels XZ, X'-Z'.
[0038] Due to the described arrangement, in one embodiment the free end 9a of the cut tape section 9 can be positioned transversely to the longitudinal axis L of the gap 12 between the spool body 14 and the tape fixing and cutting unit 30. "Transversely" here means essentially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis L of the gap 12, and in particular, offset in a plane XZ parallel to the binding wheel plane X'-Z'. This orientation of the free end 9a allows the conductor coil 2 to come into direct contact with the free end 9a of the cut tape section 9 upon insertion. Binding, which requires the step of contacting the tape section 9 with the conductor coil 2 to be bound, can thus be started directly when the conductor coil 2 is inserted into the binding unit 1.
[0039] In the illustrated embodiment of a pressure element 16, each of the three identical segments 18a, 18b, 18c shown has, for example, an XZ plane in Fig. 8a concave contact surface is formed. This contact surface, shaped in this way, can extend partially around the conductor coil 2 in the circumferential direction of the conductor coil 2 when in contact with it. The concave curvature of each segment 18a, 18b, 18c is preferably adapted to the diameter of the conductor coil 2 to be bound. In addition to the adaptation of the contact surface 18 to the curved (outer) shape of the conductor coil 2 along a first direction X, which lies transversely to the conductor coil plane YZ, as just described, the contact surface 18 can also be adapted along the conductor coil 2 in the conductor coil plane YZ on the illustrated contact element 16. For this latter adaptation, each of the three identical segments 18a, 18b, 18c shown can be individually displaced relative to the contact element 16.Thus, if the pressure surface 18 is located on an outer wall of the conductor coil 2 in the conductor coil plane YZ, the two outer segments 18a, 18c are displaced to a second plane E2 opposite the pressure element 16, while the middle segment 18b is displaced only to a first plane E1 due to the curvature of the conductor coil 2 (cf. . Fig. 10 The first layer E1 is pressed more deeply into the pressure element 16 than the second layer E2. A first gap A1 exists between the first and second layers E1, E2. This results in a concavely curved pressure surface 18. As the setting process continues, the pressure element 16, along with the setting wheel 10, moves to an inner side of the conductor coil 2 in the conductor coil plane YZ. There, due to the curvature of the conductor coil 2, a convexly curved pressure surface 18 is formed (see figure). Fig. 11In the case of the convex pressure surface 18, the two outer segments 18a, 18c lie on a first plane E1 and the middle segment 18b on a second plane E2. The first plane E1 is again more deeply pressed into the pressure element 16 than the second plane E2. Between the first and second planes E1, E2 lies a second distance A2, which can be equal to or different from the first distance A1. As the contact surface 18 repeatedly circulates around the conductor coil 2, its curvature alternates between concave and convex curvature.
[0040] Figures 2 to 8 Figure 1 shows an embodiment of a method for tying off a conductor coil 2. The method is particularly suitable for use with a tying device 1 comprising a rotatable tying wheel 10 with a gap 12, a coil body 14 rotatably attached to the tying wheel 10, and a tape fixing and cutting unit 30.
[0041] In the first step of the process, a tape section 9 of the tape 8 is picked up onto the reel body 14. For this purpose, the binding wheel 10 is moved from a home position (see Fig. 1 ), in which the gap 12, preferably horizontal, is aligned with an opening 6 of the tape clamp 1, so that the distance between the reel body 14 and the tape clamping and cutting unit 30 becomes small. Then the tape clamping and cutting unit 30, with a free end 8a of the tape 8, is moved from the first position FP1 to the second position FP2. In the second position FP2, the tape clamping and cutting unit 30, in particular the tape clamping 32, contacts the reel body 14, causing the free end 8a of the tape 8 to adhere to the reel body 14 with its adhesive side (see figure 1). Fig. 2Preferably, the tape fixation 32 exerts pressure on the free end 8a to improve adhesion. The spool body 14 can be set in rotation by a separate drive, so that a tape section 9 of the tape 8 winds onto the spool body 14 as a result of the rotation (see figure). Fig. 3 The length of the tape section 9 is arbitrarily selectable. The conductor coil 2 should be able to be bound off with the tape section 9. By winding the tape section 9 onto the spool body 14, even very long tape sections 9 can be selected and provided without requiring additional space or a complex mechanism on the binding device 1.
[0042] In the pressure element 16, a pressure surface 18 is displaced by a width B along the gap 12. The pressure surface 18 is preferably spring-mounted. The displacement of the pressure surface 18 can be effected by releasing a locking mechanism or by a separate drive. The width B is preset and, in particular, adapted to the conductor coil 2 to be connected.
[0043] In a subsequent step, the tape section 9 is cut from the tape 8. The cutting is carried out using the tape fixing and cutting unit 30, in particular with the cutting edge 34. For cutting, the tie-off wheel 10 is moved back to its starting position so that the gap 12 is aligned along the longitudinal axis L (see figure). Fig. 4In the illustrated embodiment, the tape 8 with tape section 9 hangs essentially vertically between the coil former 14 and the storage unit 20. The contact surface 18 is aligned with the tape 8 with tape section 9 and at least partially contacts the tape 8 or the tape section 9. The contact surface 18 preferably has a curved shape that can readily adapt to the shape of an inserted conductor coil 2. The tape 8 or the tape section 9 preferably contacts at least the two endpoints of the curved contact surface 18 on the non-adhesive side of the tape 8. This contact provides some fixation to the tape 8 or the tape section 9, while still allowing it to adapt to the shape of the contact surface 18 when the conductor coil 2 is inserted.
[0044] The tape fixing and cutting unit 30 then moves from the first position FP 1 to a third position FP3 (see. Fig. 5In the third position FP3, the tape fixation 32 contacts and secures the tape 8. This fixation essentially places the tape 8 taut between the spool body 14 and the tape fixation 32. This taut arrangement facilitates the separation of the tape 8 from the tape section 9. Simultaneously, during the movement into the third position FP3, the tape section 9 is separated from the tape 8 by the cutting edge 34. To further facilitate or enable this separation, the clamping element 40 also moves from its home position with the aid of moving means 48 (see figure). Fig. 5 ) along a direction of movement R towards the belt fixing and cutting unit 30. During the cutting process, when the belt fixing and cutting unit 30 and the clamping element 40 move relative to each other to separate the belt section 9 from the belt 8, the cutting edge 34 can plunge into a clearance 43 on the clamping element 40 (see figure). Fig. 9The blade 34 is protected by the clearance 43 and does not touch the clamping element 40, thus protecting the cutting edge 34. The free end of the clamping element 42 clamps the strip 8, or the free end 9a of the strip section 9 created after cutting, between itself and a projection 17 on the pressure element 16. In the illustrated embodiment, the free end of the clamping element 42 has an adhesive surface 44, so that during the cutting process, a free end 9a of the cut strip section 9 adheres to the adhesive surface 44 of the clamping element 40. By adhering to the adhesive surface 44, the free end 9a of the strip section 9 is fixed. This fixation prevents the formation of a flap, in which a free end 9a hangs uncontrollably in space. At the same time, a free end 8a of the belt 8 was fixed to the belt fixing and cutting unit 30 by means of the belt fixing 32.The tape fixing and cutting unit 30 then moved back to the first position FP1, so that it does not hinder the setting process.
[0045] The clamping element 40 can be moved towards the coil former 14 via a joint 46. This movement via the joint 46 can be provided, for example, by a pre-tensioned system that is released to move it towards the coil former 14. By moving the clamping element 40, and in particular the contact surface 44, towards the coil former 14, the free end 9a of the tape section 9 can be positioned between the coil former 14 and the contact surface 44 of the clamp 42, transverse to the longitudinal axis L of the gap 12 on the binding wheel 10. This arrangement allows the conductor coil 2, which is inserted into the gap 12, to come into contact with the free end 9a (see figure). Fig. 7When the conductor coil 2 is inserted into the slot 12 up to the center or axis of rotation D of the binding wheel 10, the free end 9a immediately adheres to the conductor coil 2, and binding can begin. The shape of the pressure surface 18 presses the free end 9a, and subsequently the entire tape section 9, against the conductor coil 2. This pressure improves adhesion, and the pressure force is adjustable on the pressure element 16. The complete binding of the conductor coil 2 with the tape section 9 is achieved by rotating the binding wheel 10. Since the conductor coil 2 is positioned in the center or on the axis of rotation D of the binding wheel 10, the tape section 9, as it unwinds from the spool 14, is guided around the conductor coil 2, pressed onto the conductor coil 2 by the pressure element 16, and thus binds the conductor coil 2. The pressure is applied automatically until the setting process is complete. The binding process is preferably completed by the binding wheel 10 performing an additional rotation after the tape section 9 has been (completely) transferred from the spool body 14 to the conductor coil 2. This additional rotation can be a partial rotation, i.e., not a full 360-degree rotation, or several full rotations. The additional rotation serves to completely press the tape section 9 onto the conductor coil 2, so that no tab remains. After binding, the bound conductor coil 2 can be removed from the gap 12 (see figure). Fig. 8 ). At this point, the binding wheel 10 and the ironing element 40 are in their respective home positions, the band fixing and cutting unit 30 is in the first position FP1 with a free end 8a of the band 8, so that a new binding process can be started immediately.
