Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a film or bag roll wrapping kit of parts. Furthermore, the invention relates to the use of the kit of parts according to the invention for the openable enclosure or enclosing of a film or bag roll. Finally, the invention relates to a film or bag roll enclosed or enclosed with a banderol.

[0002] Banderoles for enclosing rolls of film or bags have been around for a long time. For example, such bag rolls generally consist of a large number of bags, which are usually connected to one another via perforated sections, in a wound state. Banderoles are used to regularly border wound bags of this type, e.g. garbage bags for household waste and bags for garden waste or for construction rubble, and film webs. In this way, film and bag rolls can be wound tightly and thus stored and transported in a space-saving manner. To ensure that the tightly wound film and bag rolls retain this condition during transport and storage, the banderol must, on the one hand, fit very tightly against the outer layer and, on the other hand, be so firmly attached to itself that accidental loosening or even detachment can be prevented. The bands are therefore usually designed with a length such that the opposite end sections overlap when the band is applied to the wound film or bag roll. These overlapping end sections can then be connected, particularly glued, to each other. Due to the very tight, flush fit around the film or bag roll, it is generally impossible to reach under the band and tear it open. This also carries the risk of the outer bag being torn or otherwise damaged. There are many approaches to solving this problem.

[0003] DE 20 2015 102 961 U1 describes a banderol for enclosing one or more articles, which banderol has at least one perforation extending substantially parallel to the circumferential direction and extending substantially parallel to the perforation. Such a banderol is intended to allow easy removal of the packaging without the need for additional tools.

[0004] DE 20 2016 004 241 U1 discloses a paper banderol for wrapping at least sections of a film roll for household purposes. The banderol has a predetermined tear line extending transversely to the circumferential direction, formed by a series of perforations, and at least some of the perforations must be aligned at an angle to the predetermined tear line. This banderol is intended to be easy to open.

[0005] DE 20 2018 103 468 U1 discloses a band for wrapping a film roll, in which a perforation extends transversely to the circumferential direction of the film roll and a predetermined tear line is provided for separating the band. Furthermore, an adhesive layer is present at least partially on the back of the band, creating an adhesive bond with the outer circumference of the film roll. By effectively neutralizing the adhesive layer in a neutralization area adjacent to the perforation, the band is intended to be particularly easy to remove from the film roll. Furthermore, unintentional unwinding of the film roll should be reliably prevented.

[0006] DE 20 2020 102 756 U1 relates to a banderol for wrapping a film roll, comprising a perforation area with a first and a second predetermined tear line, each formed from a plurality of perforations and extending longitudinally at a distance from one another, bordered by a first tear-off strip. The first tear-off strip is designed to be torn off along a first predetermined tear direction. Because the perforation area is provided with a third and a fourth predetermined tear line, each extending longitudinally at a distance from one another, bordered by a second tear-off strip, and because the third and fourth predetermined tear lines are each formed from a plurality of perforations arranged on the first tear-off strip, the banderol is intended to be particularly easy to remove from the film roll while maintaining the simplest possible design. In this case, the second tear-off strip must also be designed to tear along a second predetermined tear direction which is oriented opposite to the first predetermined tear direction.

[0007] EP 3 103 734 B1 describes a banderol for enclosing one or more articles, which banderol has at least one perforation running essentially parallel to the circumferential direction and in which the tear direction runs essentially parallel to the perforation. By using paper or coated paper with an average tear resistance according to ISO 1974:2012 of ≥ 25 and ≤ 700 mN, such a banderol should be easy to remove without the aid of any tools.

[0008] EP 3 456 651 B1 discloses a perforated, glued paper band for completely enclosing one or more articles, having a central region perpendicular to the circumferential direction and an outer region adjoining this on each of the two sides. The paper band must be provided with an adhesive in at least each of the two outer regions, with overlapping paper regions adhering to one another in the outer regions and the overlapping regions in the central region essentially not adhering to one another. The fact that the central region is additionally provided with a tab and that, starting from the tab in the central region, a perforation extends at least partially through each of the two outer regions in the same circumferential direction is intended to make opening particularly user-friendly.

[0009] Finally, EP 3 912 925 B1 addresses a banderol for wrapping a film roll with a perforation region having a first and a second predetermined tear track, each formed from a plurality of perforations and extending longitudinally at a distance from one another, bordering a first tear-off strip. The first tear-off strip is designed to be torn along a first predetermined tear direction, and the perforation region has a third and a fourth predetermined tear track (S4), which are to be torn along a distance from one another, bordering a second tear-off strip. Furthermore, the third and fourth predetermined tear tracks are each formed from a plurality of perforations arranged on the first tear-off strip, and the second tear-off strip is designed to be torn along a second predetermined tear direction, which is oriented opposite to the first predetermined tear direction.Such a banderol should be particularly easy to remove from the film roll while maintaining the simplest possible design.

[0010] It would be desirable to be able to use binding options for film and bag rolls that are characterized by a very broad range of applications. Therefore, the object of the present invention was to provide binding options for film and bag rolls that are not afflicted with the disadvantages of the prior art and that, in particular, allow for the trouble-free opening of film and bag rolls that are bound in a variety of ways. In particular, the object of the invention was to provide binding options for film and bag rolls that can be opened without damaging the film and bag roll, for example, by tearing it, and / or, in particular, that can also be opened easily with gloved hands.

[0011] Accordingly, a film or bag roll wrapping kit of parts was found, comprising i) a banderol for a film or bag roll with a longitudinal and a transverse extension and a length L1 and a width B1 as well as opposite longitudinal sides and opposite end sections and ii) at least one material strip with a longitudinal and a transverse extension and a length L2 and a width B2 as well as opposite longitudinal sides and opposite end sections, wherein the length L2 of the material strip is greater than the width B1 of the banderol in at least one section thereof.

[0012] The object underlying the invention is further achieved by film or bag rolls enclosed or bordered with a banderol, comprising a film or bag roll and a kit of parts according to the invention, wherein the banderol encloses the film or bag roll, in particular flush, and wherein the at least one material strip, in particular paper strip, is arranged between the film or bag roll and the banderol in such a way that its end sections protrude beyond the mutually opposite longitudinal sides of the banderol.

[0013] The band and the material strip of the kit of parts according to the invention are used when edging or enclosing a film or bag roll, in particular the film or bag roll edged according to the invention, in such a way that the material strip is located between the band wrapping the film or bag roll and the film or bag roll, and wherein, due to the length L2 of the material strip, the latter projects beyond the band on both sides. When the band is flush with the wound-up film or bag roll, the material strip is clamped and, in particular, movement-invariant between the band and the outer layer of the film or bag roll without the need for any further precautions. In this way, the band can be torn open by gripping the two end sections of the material strip projecting beyond the band.

[0014] The bands used in the kit of parts according to the invention generally have a longitudinal extension that is greater than their transverse extension. Accordingly, the sides extending along the longitudinal extension are also called the long sides or long sides of the band. Furthermore, the material strips used in the kit of parts according to the invention generally have a longitudinal extension that is greater than their transverse extension. Accordingly, the sides extending along the long side of the material strip are also called the long sides or long sides of the material strip.

[0015] Conveniently, the length L2 of the material strip is greater than the width B1 of the banderol over its entire length or longitudinal extent. This eliminates the need for special care regarding the location of the material strip. Particularly suitable banderoles generally have a uniform width B1 along their entire longitudinal extent. In these embodiments, the length L2 of the material strip in each section of the banderol is greater than the width B1 of this banderol.

[0016] The material strip can be made of a variety of materials. These materials are preferably provided with a certain degree of flexibility to ensure a flush fit against a wound roll. In a suitable embodiment, the material strip has a tear strength, at least in the direction of its longitudinal extension, that is sufficient to tear the band in the section lying above the material strip. Advantageously, the tear strength in the longitudinal direction of the material strip is set such that it is greater than the tear strength of the band transverse to its longitudinal extension, at least in the area where the material strip is placed.

[0017] Suitable material strips can be made of plastic materials, for example. Examples include polyolefins such as polyethylene or polypropylene and polyesters such as polyethylene terephthalate. For many applications, however, it has proven particularly advantageous to use a paper strip or a material strip based on a paper strip as the material strip. This is particularly advantageous if the band is also made of paper or is based on a paper material. This enables particularly straightforward recycling. Suitable paper materials for the material strip can be selected from the group consisting of glassine paper, parchment paper, greaseproof paper or oil-coated paper, especially palm oil-coated paper, and paraffin-coated paper. Alternatively, conventional or untreated paper as well as recycled paper can be used.

[0018] However, if the band is made of or based on a plastic, it has proven advantageous to use a material strip that is also made of or based on a plastic. Particularly preferred is that the plastics used for the band and the material strip are essentially identical. This allows for pure recycling.

[0019] Suitable bands can also be made from a variety of materials. Paper or cardboard are often used for bands. Alternatively, plastic materials can also be used. Examples include polyolefins such as polyethylene or polypropylene and polyesters such as polyethylene terephthalate.

[0020] For many applications, it has proven sufficient for the length L2 of the material strip to be at least 0.5 cm, preferably at least 2 cm, and particularly preferably at least 3 cm greater than the width B1 of the band in the at least one section, in particular greater than the width B1 of the band over its entire longitudinal extent. For example, the length of the material strip can be in the range of 0.5 to 5 cm, and preferably in the range of 1 to 4 cm, greater than the width B1 of the band.

[0021] Among the kits of parts according to the invention, those are preferred in which the band has at least one weakened area that extends from or at a distance from one long side toward the opposite long side or to the opposite long side. In particularly preferred embodiments, the weakened area extends from one long side to the opposite long side of the band.

[0022] In these embodiments, the material strip is preferably located beneath this weakened area or at least partially overlaps with this weakened area. In an alternative embodiment, the material strip can also be arranged next to or adjacent to the weakened area. In other words, in this embodiment, there is no overlap between the weakened area and the material strip.

[0023] The at least one weakened area is preferably designed in the form of a weakened line and particularly preferably represents a perforation line.

[0024] Kits of parts according to the invention have also proven particularly useful in which the banderol has two weakening areas, in particular weakening lines, such as perforation lines, spaced apart by a distance X. The use of two or more weakening areas, in particular weakening or perforation lines, can further facilitate the tearing process. Embodiments in which the distance X between the two spaced-apart weakening areas, in particular weakening lines, is greater than the width B2 of the material strip have proven particularly suitable. In this way, the material strip can be placed between the two weakening areas or lines. In these embodiments, it can be provided, in particular, that the distance X between the two spaced-apart weakening areas, in particular weakening lines, is in the range of 0.1 to 3 cm, preferably in the range of 0.2 to 2 cm, and particularly preferably in the range of 0.5 to 1 cm, greater than the width B2 of the material strip. By selecting the distance X only slightly larger than the width B2 of the material strip, this material strip, when placed between the two weakening areas or lines, is almost flush with them. This ensures particularly reliable and flawless tearing of the band.

[0025] If a paper strip is used as the material strip in the kit of parts according to the invention, this preferably has a grammage in the range from 30 to 150 g / m 2< , preferably in the range from 50 to 120 g / m 2< and particularly preferably in the range from 60 to 100 g / m 2< .

[0026] For a practical edging of a variety of film or bag rolls, in particular the film or bag rolls edged according to the invention, banderoles of this type have proven to be preferred, in which they have a width B1 in the range from 3 to 20 cm, preferably in the range from 5 to 17 cm and particularly preferably in the range from 10 to 15 cm.

[0027] A particular advantage of the kit of parts according to the invention is that the band, in particular apart from its end sections, and / or, in particular, the at least one material strip, does not have any adhesive or self-adhesive areas. The end sections of the band are preferably designed and configured to form an adhesive bond with one another.

[0028] According to a further embodiment, the material strip can be provided with an adhesive or bonding agent on its inner side in order to ensure a fixed placement on the outer layer of the film or bag roll. The inside of the material strip within the meaning of the invention is understood to be the side facing away from the band. In a further very expedient embodiment, the material strip can, alternatively or additionally, be provided with an adhesive or bonding agent on its outer side in order to form a bond with the band. This allows the band and material strip to always be attached to the film or bag roll as a unit in a particularly reliable manner. Alternatively or additionally, the band can also be provided with an adhesive or bonding agent on its inner side in order to form a bond with the material strip.

[0029] The bag rolls can be, for example, wound up bags for household purposes, bags for waste generated during gardening or bags for waste generated during house construction, e.g. interior work.

[0030] In the film or bag rolls according to the invention edged or enclosed with a band, in one expedient embodiment, the at least one material strip is at least partially congruent with a weakened area, in particular a weakening line, of the band. This is particularly the case when exactly one material strip is used. Preferably, the at least one material strip is located between two weakened areas, in particular weakening lines, of the band. These two weakened areas, in particular weakening lines, run essentially parallel to one another. Alternatively, and in particular additionally, the two weakened areas, in particular weakening lines, run essentially perpendicular to the opposite longitudinal sides of the band.

[0031] It is also particularly advantageous that, in the case of the film or bag rolls according to the invention which are enclosed or surrounded by a banderol, it is easy to use film or bag rolls made of recycled film or bag material.

[0032] The object underlying the invention is further achieved by the use of the kit of parts according to the invention for the openable enclosure or enclosing of a film or bag roll.

[0033] The present invention is based on the surprising discovery that film and bag rolls wound up using the kit of parts according to the invention, regardless of their size or dimension, can not only be edged flush without any problems, in particular within the framework of fully automated production, but can also be released easily and reliably by tearing open the band. A particular advantage here is that it is ensured that the wound film or bag material is not impaired when the band is torn open, and in particular cannot be partially torn open or weakened by stretching. It has also proven advantageous for practical use that film and bag rolls wound up using the kit of parts according to the invention can beEnclosed film or bag rolls can be easily and reliably released by tearing open the band using the material strip, even if the person performing the tearing operation is wearing gloves, such as gardening gloves. Finally, it is advantageous that there is no need to apply an adhesive or bonding agent to the inside of the band for temporary attachment to a film or bag roll.

[0034] Further features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description, in which an embodiment of the invention is explained by way of example with reference to a schematic drawing, without thereby limiting the invention. Figure 1 an embodiment of a kit of parts according to the invention in plan view.

[0035] Figure 1a film or bag roll wrapping kit of parts (1) according to the invention is taken out. This kit of parts comprises, in the illustrated embodiment, a banderol (2) and a material strip (4). The banderol has opposite longitudinal sides (6, 8) along the longitudinal extent as well as opposite end sections (10, 12). This banderol (2) has a length L1 and a width B1. The material strip (4) also has opposite longitudinal sides (14, 16) along its longitudinal extent as well as opposite end sections (18, 20). The material strip has a length L2 and a width B2. As the Figure 1As can be seen, the material strip (4) has a length L2 that is greater than the width B1 of the band (2). Accordingly, the material strip (4) protrudes beyond the longitudinal sides (6, 8) of the band (2) at its opposite end sections (18, 20) and can be grasped on both sides with the finger and thumb.

[0036] In the Figure 1 In the illustrated embodiment, the material strip (4) lies beneath the band (2), except for the end sections (18, 20). The inner side of the material strip (4) faces away from the band (2). Accordingly, the outer side of the material strip (4) rests against the inner side of the band (2). In the illustrated embodiment, the material strip (4) is oriented perpendicular to the parallel longitudinal sides (6, 8) of the band (2).

[0037] The banderol (2) of the film or bag roll wrapping kit of parts (1) according to the invention has two weakened areas (22, 24) in the form of perforation lines, spaced apart by a distance X. These perforation lines (22, 24) run parallel to each other. The distance X is slightly greater than the width B2 of the material strip (4), so that the latter can be positioned precisely between these perforation lines (22, 24). This allows for particularly reliable and complication-free tearing of the banderol (2) when applied flush to a film or bag roll.

[0038] The features of the invention disclosed in the above description, in the claims and in the drawings may be essential for the realization of the invention in its various embodiments, both individually and in any combination.
