Description

[0001] The invention relates to a CLT board or CLT panels.

[0002] CLT panels (cross-laminated timber) are prefabricated timber building elements consisting of several layers of solid wood panels stacked on top of each other. These layers are arranged crosswise and are usually bonded together by gluing. This cross-lamination results in large-format, stable, and versatile panels primarily used in timber construction.

[0003] CLT is usually made from softwoods such as spruce, fir or pine, which are preferred due to their strength and availability.

[0004] CLT panels can be used in building construction for walls, ceilings, and roofs. They offer a sustainable alternative to concrete and steel and are suitable for both single-family homes and multi-story buildings. CLT panels are characterized by high load-bearing capacity, good thermal insulation, and fire resistance. Furthermore, their prefabrication saves time during installation, and they are typically delivered to construction sites as precisely fitting elements.

[0005] WO 2012 / 149634 A1 describes a CLT panel with CLT and insulation bonded between them.

[0006] WO 2012 / 149634 A1 discloses a basic panel structure comprising wooden panels and insulation layers. The panels can be plugged together.

[0007] WO 2020 / 146210 A1 shows a CLT panel with a guide that can be used for the passage of cables, but also for the integration of water pipes.

[0008] WO 2013 / 1890498 A1 describes a CLT panel with grooves in which reinforcing elements are provided.

[0009] WO 2020 / 242809 A1 discloses a CLT panel with channels that are filled with binder material.

[0010] The problem with the well-known panels is that mold can form if sufficient ventilation is not ensured and condensation accumulates.

[0011] The object of the invention is to provide a CLT board and CLT panels made from it that enable simple and safe assembly and prevent the formation of mold.

[0012] The object is achieved by the invention according to claim 1. Preferred embodiments can be found in the dependent claims.

[0013] A CLT panel according to the invention has a plurality of grooves or channels present on at least one side surface of the CLT panel.

[0014] The CLT board has grooves or slots, which can be milled, for example. The grooves can be present, in particular, on the side of the CLT board facing the insulation. The grooves preferably run approximately diagonally and can be arranged at different angles, for example, 45°, 25°, or 10°, whereby the angle can be adjusted depending on the use of the CLT board. Advantageously, several grooves can be provided, which can be arranged, for example, in a kind of checkerboard pattern.

[0015] The channels can be spaced, for example, 10 cm apart. The channels can be semi-tubular, meaning they have essentially parallel side walls. However, they can also be designed with a conical shape.

[0016] The channels can intersect in one configuration. Furthermore, essentially horizontal channels can be provided, which may also connect several diagonal channels and / or vertical channels.

[0017] Furthermore, the invention relates to a CLT panel comprising several CLT panels. The CLT panel can comprise several CLT panels, with an insulating layer being present between pairs of CLT panels. The insulating layer can be, for example, wood fiber, sheep's wool, hemp wool, or any other insulating material known to those skilled in the art. The insulating layer can be compressed between two panels.

[0018] The CLT panels can be precisely cut to fit the intended use. Furthermore, spacers or connectors, such as strips made of solid structural timber, can be placed between two panels in each insulation layer. The spacers can preferably be offset from one another in the two insulation layers in a multi-layer CLT panel to prevent thermal bridges. Holes for threaded rods can be provided in the spacers, which can be used to connect the CLT panels to one another. Furthermore, holes, passages, channels, or the like for cables, etc., can be integrated into an insulation layer.

[0019] The CLT panels can be connected to each other via a tongue-and-groove joint. However, it is also possible for the CLT panels to have grooves or recesses at their ends, allowing a connector to be inserted into the grooves of two CLT panels to be joined. The grooves of two CLT panels can form a channel with two opposing openings. The connector, e.g., a strip, a board, or the like, can be inserted into the channel from one of the openings and must be the same size as the channel. This allows the two CLT panels to be joined together.

[0020] The production of CLT panels is inexpensive, generates no CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, and requires only minimal investment in production equipment and personnel. The panels can be transported on Euro pallets using small or large vehicles. Houses with approximately 150 m² of living space can be erected from CLT panels by 1 to 3 people in up to 5 working days.

[0021] The invention is illustrated by way of example in the attached drawings 1-13. List of reference symbols:

[0023] The advantages of the invention are explained below using an example: The CLT panels comprise CLT boards 1 and can be provided as a wall, ceiling, or floor of a house. Depending on requirements, the CLT panels can comprise multiple layers, i.e., multiple insulation layers 2 with CLT boards 1 can be provided.

[0024] Room air can diffuse into the CLT panels via grooves, holes, channels 8, or the like provided in a CLT panel 1. The water vapor present in the room air condenses in the CLT panels and is distributed via the grooves 8. The condensate present in the grooves 8 evaporates again. Excess condensate can be drained away. The water evaporates evenly to the outside via the grooves 8. Condensate is distributed evenly across the grooves. The air remains warm or cool.

[0025] Horizontal channels 9, which can also be referred to as ducts within the meaning of the invention, connect the vertical channels 8 to one another, so that all condensation flows evenly across the surface of the panels 1 through the channels 8 and evaporates to the outside. If the CLT panels are used as walls, ceilings, and / or floors, the house remains dry. Furthermore, warm air from inside the rooms, generated, for example, by human body heat, flows through these channels 8, keeping the walls warm for extended periods. Additionally, cold or hot air enters from the outside, ensuring a comfortable temperature and maintaining a normal indoor air temperature. In this way, the walls with channels or ducts regulate the temperature inside the house in both summer and winter.Channels 8 can have different widths, depths, and different angles; they can also be conical, square, or round, with different slopes or angles, all depending on the region. Corners and panels serve the same function. A house made of such panels requires virtually no heating or air conditioning.

[0026] Houses comprising CLT boards 1 or CLT panels according to the invention are earthquake-proof, flood-proof, and meet fire protection requirements. The CLT panels no longer warp and can be easily coated, e.g., plastered, covered with drywall, or the like.

[0027] Furthermore, the gutters can be used to dry or heat a house, for example by pumping (heated) air into them.

[0028] The channels, grooves, and grooves 8 serve to stabilize the air, based on scientific findings, by equalizing the temperature of the air passing through the CLT panels 1 and the insulation 2. This means that the outside temperature is irrelevant; these channels equalize and stabilize the air temperature in different directions. Therefore, it is advantageous for the channels to be located between the insulation layers and on the insulation side of the CLT panels 1, regardless of the outside temperature. The temperature inside the house depends on the thickness of the panels and the number of CLT panels 1 with channels and grooves 8 installed between the insulation layers 2. The more CLT panels 1 are located where the channels are, the better the air is stabilized. Thus, the indoor air temperature is approximately 20-23° Celsius, regardless of the outside air temperature. In addition, the air temperature in the house depends on the number of windows, their size, and glazing. Air temperature control works particularly well with a sandwich of CLT panels with insulation. The thicker the sandwich, the better it stabilizes the air in the house, eliminating the need for heating or air conditioning.

[0029] Another advantage of CLT panels is that they have air ducts, gutters, and grooves, which means houses constructed from such panels are very stable in regions where earthquakes or floods are common, even if water penetrates the house. It is precisely these interconnected air ducts, gutters, and grooves that allow the walls of the house to be ventilated very quickly, thus drying out. In earthquake zones, the CLT panels can be twisted together in a vertical position using steel threaded rods, or they can be tightly twisted.
