Description

[0001] DESCRIPTION

[0002] Sowing device

[0003] The present invention relates to a seeding device and a first roller for a seeding device.

[0004] Nowadays, it is common practice not to create lawns by sowing seeds onto prepared soil, but instead to lay out mature grass in the form of long turf sods and allow them to grow on the prepared soil. Such long turf sods are known as ready-made turf sods or rolled turf sods. This can speed up the creation of a functional and almost weed-free lawn by several months, for example, in the garden of a new building or on a sports field. The lawn will be rooted and usable just days after laying. This generally brings aesthetic and economic benefits due to earlier usability. A well-produced rolled turf sod is also almost weed-free, which can improve the quality of the lawn and its appearance.

[0005] Ready-to-use turf is obtained by sowing grass on suitable agricultural land. After approximately 10 to 18 months, the turf can be harvested by cutting approximately 2.0 cm to 3.0 cm thick strips from the turf using a horizontal blade on a turf harvester. The strips are typically approximately 40 cm or 60 cm wide in small rolls and are cut to a length of approximately 170 cm or 250 cm and rolled or folded, which is why turf is referred to as "rolled turf" or "ready-to-use turf" for turf.

[0006] In the production of ready-made turf, the sowing of the grass seed in the field can be carried out using conventional agricultural seed drills or special machines. For example, comparatively simple seed drills have long been known, in which the soil is opened up in specific areas by a first roller positioned at the front in the direction of movement or pulling. For this purpose, cast rings equipped with cams are loosely arranged on a smooth, cylindrical, rotating roller of a first, front roller. This means they are movable both circumferentially and transversely, and in the transverse direction, they allow several millimeters of play between them for self-cleaning.

[0007] If the seed drill is pulled across the ground by a tractor, the first, front roller rolls along the ground with the resulting cylindrical surface of its cast rings or cam rings, penetrating the soil at specific points with the cams of the first, front roller. Seed then falls loosely from above the first, front roller onto the ground, partly into the aforementioned specific openings in the soil, and largely next to it onto the unworked soil surface. The seed lying on the unworked soil surface is then pressed by a second, rear roller, mainly onto the soil or its surface, and partly into the soil at specific points, similar to the first roller, by cast rings or cam rings of the second, rear roller, which are also arranged with play in the transverse direction and are provided with cams. The majority of the seed, however, is only pressed onto the unworked soil.

[0008] Such seed drills are therefore comparatively simple, inexpensive, and robust. However, only a portion of the seed is incorporated into the soil, meaning that a significant, or even the majority, of the seed remains unused and is wasted. This type of sowing, if seed is incorporated into the soil, also results in the seed being incorporated into the soil in rows that correspond to the cams of the two rollers, which generally penetrate the soil relatively deeply. This essentially results in row sowing that is uneven both in the direction of movement and in the transverse direction. This results in a certain random and thus uneven distribution of the seed within the germination horizon in the soil, which is reflected in the distribution of the germinating plants along the rows. When producing ready-made lawns, uneven seed distribution inevitably leads to empty patches in the turf, which are colonized by unwanted weeds and foreign grasses and can negatively affect rapid turf closure and thus the quality and production time.

[0009] US 2012 / 199055 A1 describes a single-pass, ground-driven tiller and seed drill comprising: a support frame, an elongated drive rotor mounted transversely on the frame, a tillage unit pivotally connected to the frame and formed by a pair of rearwardly extending bearing plates and having an elongated tillage rotor mounted thereon and extending transversely therebetween, and a firming roller mounted between mounting plates pivotally connected to the bearing plates. The drive rotor is rotated by soil contact when the implement is pulled by a tractor. The drive rotor is in driving engagement with the tillage rotor such that the tillage rotor rotates at a higher speed than the drive rotor. A seed metering mechanism is mounted on the frame and deposits the seed in front of the drive rotor. The tillage rotor breaks up the soil and works the seed into the soil, after which the reconsolidation roller firms the seedbed. With the ground-driven tiller and seed drill according to US 2012 / 199055 A1, both the tillage, which must precede sowing, and the sowing itself are carried out with the same device in a single operation. The entire machine is pulled across the soil by a tractor. The seed is sown in front of the drive rotor by the seed metering unit. The gear ratio between the first, front roller acting as the drive motor, which is pulled across the soil, and the second, rear roller generates a relative movement of the second, rear roller acting as the tillage rotor. As a result, the second, rear roller does not roll "passively" on the soil, but "actively" cultivates and opens the soil in the direction of travel, while simultaneously incorporating the seed into the soil by the second, rear roller. The reconsolidation roller consolidates the formed seedbed.

[0010] Using the ground-driven tiller and seed drill according to US 2012 / 199055 A1, two work steps can be performed in a single operation. However, the distribution of the seed on the soil and its incorporation into the soil are random and thus uneven, both horizontally and vertically, which can be disadvantageous when using grass seed as seed for the production of turf, as already mentioned. This applies in particular to the depth to which the grass seed is placed in the soil, as the cultivation or opening takes place at a significantly greater depth than is conducive to optimal germination of grass seed, namely in the range of 5 mm to 10 mm.

[0011] An object of the present invention is to provide a sowing device of the type described above so that the introduction of seed, in particular lawn seed, into the soil or into the germination horizon can be improved. This should be possible in a more defined manner, particularly with regard to a more uniform transverse distribution, than previously known. Additionally or alternatively, this should be possible in particular deep in the soil, i.e. with regard to the position or depth of the germination horizon. In any case, this should be possible to implement as simply, cost-effectively, precisely, robustly and / or with low maintenance as possible. At the very least, an alternative to known sowing devices should be created.

[0012] According to the invention, this object is achieved by a sowing device and a first roller having the features of the independent patent claims. Advantageous further developments are described in the subclaims.

[0013] The present invention thus relates to a sowing device. Such a sowing device can be any device suitable for sowing seed. The seed can preferably be lawn seed, so that lawns can preferably be sown with the sowing device according to the invention. In principle, however, the sowing device according to the invention can be used for any seed. In any case, the sowing device according to the invention can be moved over the ground as the substrate into which the seed is to be introduced. For this purpose, the sowing device can be pushed or pulled, which - depending on the size of the sowing device and the application - can be done by a person or by means of a vehicle such as a garden vehicle such as a lawn tractor or an agricultural vehicle such as an agricultural tractor.Alternatively, the sowing device can also be designed to perform the movement itself by means of a corresponding drive. Thus, the sowing device according to the invention can be used both in the home garden for sowing, in particular, lawn seed, and on agricultural land for sowing various seeds, in particular lawn seed for the production of ready-made lawns. For this purpose, the sowing device according to the invention can be scaled accordingly, depending on the application.

[0014] The sowing device has a frame with at least one rotatably mounted first roller with a substantially cylindrical surface, wherein the first roller is designed to roll over a ground and incorporate seed into the soil. Rolling over the ground as a subsoil can, as already mentioned, be self-propelled or externally driven or moved. In any case, the first roller can be rotatably mounted on the frame, which can also be referred to as a frame or holder, in order to be rolled over the subsoil or ground by the movement of the frame. In other words, the first roller rolls passively over the ground or on the ground, so that there is no relative movement in the direction of movement between the ground and the first roller and therefore no relative speed. This keeps the engagement of the first roller in the soil to a minimum. This also applies to the essentially cylindrical design of the surface of the first roller.

[0015] The sowing device according to the invention is characterized in that the cylindrical surface of the first roller has, at least in sections, preferably over its entire circumference, alternating radial indentations and radial projections in the circumferential direction, wherein the radial indentations each rise radially towards at least one radial projection, preferably towards both radial projections, by means of a radial transition region.

[0016] In other words, the circumferential profile of the first roller is designed according to the invention, at least in sections, such that the radial indentations each have a radially deepest point, from which the radial indentations radially enlarge in the circumferential direction on at least one side towards a directly adjacent projection and preferably on both sides towards the respective directly adjacent projection and thus approach the radius of the radial projection. The radial projections can also be referred to as radial elevations. This makes it possible to create a so-called digital alternation between radial indentations with a constant smaller radius and radial elevations with a constant larger radius, as is known from the prior art of cast rings or rings provided with cams at specific points as described at the outset.

[0017] Cam rings known to be avoided.

[0018] The present invention is based on the finding that the cast rings or cam rings of conventional simple seed drills, which are provided with cams at specific points, only lead to openings in the soil at specific points. Due to the mobility of the cast rings or cam rings on their roller bodies, these openings are randomly arranged in the direction of movement and in the transverse direction, and are also only randomly filled with seed. The majority of the soil remains uncultivated, so that only seed can be pressed into it. This leads, on the one hand, to an uneven germination horizon with patchy growth and, on the other hand, to a significant waste of seed that does not germinate.

[0019] According to the invention, alternating radial indentations and radial projections are formed, which, so to speak, merge into one another by reducing the radial distance between a radially deepest point of a radial indentation and an immediately adjacent radial projection or its radially highest point. This allows a transition region or transition section to be created in the circumferential direction of the first roller, so to speak, from the radially deepest point of a radial indentation to the immediately adjacent radial projection, which can be considered to belong to the radial indentation.

[0020] If such a circumferential profile of the first roller of the seeding device according to the invention is now rolled over the soil, not only the radial projections themselves but also at least the transition areas of the radial indentations can penetrate the soil and thus press seed into the soil. This thus increases the surface area of the first roller, by means of which seed can be worked into the soil, so that more seed than previously known can be introduced into the germination horizon and thus utilized.

[0021] The depth of penetration of the first roller into the soil is limited at least by the radial indentations or their deepest points, since the deepest points of the radial indentations rest on the ground and can thus prevent or at least significantly impede deeper penetration of the surface of the first roller into the soil. This can limit the depth to which seed can be pressed into the soil by the first roller. This can be predetermined or predetermined by the design by the radial distance between the radial indentations or their deepest points and the radial projections.

[0022] The transition areas of the radial indentations also increase the surface area of the first roller rolling on the soil, which can also reduce the penetration depth, as the weight of the roller can be distributed over a larger area. Nevertheless, the weight of the first roller allows a sufficient desired penetration depth to insert the seed layer into the soil at the desired depth.

[0023] Furthermore, the design of the surface of the first roller with radial indentations, transition areas and radial projections can ensure that the first roller rolls on the ground when pulled over the ground and is not pulled stationary over the ground or through the ground.

[0024] If the first roller is designed completely, ie continuously or completely in the circumferential direction, with radial indentations, transition areas and radial projections, this can increase the corresponding effect or enable it over the entire circumference of the first roller.

[0025] Preferably, a plurality of differently designed first rollers can also be provided, which can be used alternatively. Because the extent to which the radial projections and radial indentations penetrate the soil can depend on its nature, different first rollers can be provided which differ, for example, in the design of their radial indentations and / or radial projections and can thus be suitable for different soils. In the case of first rollers with roller discs, as will be explained in more detail below, the first rollers can also differ in the number, thickness or strength as well as the spacing of their roller discs. In any case, the user can exchange the different first rollers with one another in order to adapt the sowing device according to the invention to the respective soil. For this purpose, the first rollers can be exchanged as a whole, or only the roller discs of the first rollers can be exchanged relative to a roller shaft, or their spacing can be changed in the transverse direction. This can expand the design flexibility of the application.

[0026] According to one aspect of the invention, the radial indentations are concave. In other words, the radial indentations and thus also their radial transition regions, as subregions of the radial indentations, have a radially inwardly curved semi-arc in the circumferential direction, the two ends of which extend as radial transition regions to the two immediately adjacent radial projections without reaching them or preferably bordering on or merging into the two immediately adjacent radial projections. In other words, the two immediately adjacent radial projections can protrude radially relative to the respective end of the radial transition region, or they can be directly adjacent to one another. In any case, the properties and advantages described above can be implemented in concrete terms, with varying degrees of effect, which can increase the design flexibility.According to a further aspect of the invention, the radial projections are convex, preferably with the shape of the fully cylindrical surface of the first roller. This minimizes the penetration of the radial projections into the ground, since the convex surface of the radial projections can promote rolling over the ground. This can also simplify the manufacture of the first roller from a fully cylindrical body or from circular roller discs, into whose surface the radial indentations can then be introduced.

[0027] According to a further aspect of the invention, the radial indentations extend in the circumferential direction at least 3 times, preferably at least 5 times, and at most 10 times, preferably 7 times, particularly preferably about 6 times, as far as the radial projections.

[0028] Additionally or alternatively, the radial indentations preferably each extend over at least 2% of the circumference, preferably over at least 3% of the circumference, and at most over 6% of the circumference, preferably over 5% of the circumference, particularly preferably over about 4% of the circumference.

[0029] Additionally or alternatively, the radial projections preferably each extend over at least 0.3% of the circumference, preferably over at least 0.5% of the circumference, and at most over 1.5% of the circumference, preferably over 1.0% of the circumference, particularly preferably over about 0.7% of the circumference.

[0030] Additionally or alternatively, the radial indentations are preferably set back in the radial direction by at least 3% of the radius, preferably at least 5% of the radius, and at most 10% of the radius, preferably 7% of the radius, particularly preferably about 6% of the radius, relative to the radial projections.

[0031] Through these respective relations between the dimensions of the radial indentations, the radial projections, the circumference and / or the radius, in each case and in particular in combination with each other, the greatest possible effect can be achieved as described above.

[0032] According to a further aspect of the invention, the first roller is suspended freely from the frame of the sowing device by means of at least one support arm, preferably by means of a support arm at each end. In other words, the first roller is not arranged rotatably there in a fixed position relative to the frame, since this would result in the first roller being moved with its surface through unevenness in the ground, resulting in areas of the ground that are comparatively poorly seeded. Such areas of the ground would therefore hardly be covered in vegetation, which could, for example, lead to gaps in the lawn when sowing grass, which could be used by foreign grasses, as described above. According to the invention, the first roller is therefore suspended rotatably from the support arm and the support arm is suspended freely or pivotably from the frame, so that the first roller can be raised relative to the ground by the surface of the ground. This allows the first roller to compensate for vertical unevenness in the soil, ensuring that even on uneven ground, the seed can be applied as described above, resulting in the most even growth possible. Implementing this with two end-mounted tram arms can increase the stability of the first roller relative to the frame and / or prevent the first roller from jamming against the frame.

[0033] Preferably, a support arm stop is provided in at least one direction of movement of the support arm, preferably in both directions of movement of the support arm. This can limit the evasive movement of the first roller in the vertical direction accordingly to prevent a collision of the first roller or its support arm with the frame.

[0034] According to a further aspect of the invention, at least one, preferably replaceable, roller damper is provided between the frame of the sowing device and the first roller, preferably a roller shaft of the first roller, which is designed to dampen any deflection of the first roller. This can dampen or slow down the evasive movement of the first roller in the vertical direction in order to counteract this. Furthermore, through the appropriate design and arrangement of the roller damper relative to the first roller, a vertical pressure can be exerted on the first roller in order to influence or predetermine the pressure with which the first roller acts on the soil. This can promote the introduction of the seed into the soil.

[0035] In particular, this can be influenced depending on the respective floor by exchanging and using different roller dampers with different spring forces, so that the previously described effect can be adjusted or adapted by the user for the respective floor. In any case, the roller damper can be designed as a spring-elastic body, for example as a metallic or elastomeric spring, which can enable a robust, simple, and / or compact implementation. Such a spring-elastic body can, in particular, act directly on the first roller or its roller shaft. In particular, metallic coil springs can be used as a robust and durable implementation.

[0036] A preferred implementation can be achieved using parallel-acting spring pairs, particularly metal coil spring pairs or metal coil spring assemblies. Two identical or two different springs can be used, which can increase the design flexibility.

[0037] In any case, the coil spring(s) can each be arranged around a preferably cylindrical guide, so that the coil springs can be guided in their movement or stabilized perpendicularly thereto. These guides can be fixedly connected to a respective support of the roller damper.

[0038] In any case, the roller dampers or their springs, and in particular their metallic coil springs, can be fixedly connected to one or more of the aforementioned brackets on one side, whereby the brackets can be provided as roller damper brackets, each fixed to one or more of the frame of the sowing device but positionable in different ways. This allows a certain adjustment, in particular in terms of the height, of the springs relative to the first roller, whereby the spring force can be influenced or adjusted. This also allows adaptation to different springs. This adjustable positioning can preferably be achieved through different holes or the like on the side of the bracket, so that different concrete or discrete positions of the respective bracket on the frame of the sowing device can be achieved.

[0039] In any case, the respective spring can also act indirectly on the first roller by providing a plunger between the spring and the first roller, which is movable to a certain extent along the direction of action of the spring and can thus be pressed onto the first roller by the spring using its spring force. In this case, a preferably curved contact surface of the plunger can be in contact with the first roller. Opposite the spring, the plunger can be connected to the corresponding end of the spring by means of a plunger connection. In the case of a spiral spring, this plunger connection can also protrude into the interior of the spiral spring in order to guide the plunger relative to the spiral spring. If a guide is provided within the spiral spring, the plunger connection can also interact with the guide of the spring. In any case, the first roller can have a plunger receptacle against which the plunger can act or press. The plunger holder can in particular be designed as an extension of a support arm.

[0040] According to a further aspect of the invention, the first roller has a plurality of, preferably stationary, roller disks which are arranged parallel to one another and have, at least in sections, preferably over their entire circumference, alternating radial indentations and radial projections in the circumferential direction, wherein the radial indentations and radial projections of several roller disks, preferably all roller disks, are arranged correspondingly or offset from one another in the circumferential direction. In other words, the first roller is not formed from a cylindrical roller body but has a plurality of individual roller disks which are arranged parallel to one another and together form the first roller. For this purpose, the roller disks can be arranged stationary on a common roller shaft which can be rotatably mounted on the frame or on the support arm or on the support arms.In any case, this can simplify production and thus make it more cost-effective, as producing and assembling individual roller disks can be easier than machining a solid part. This can be particularly true for identical roller disks, which can be manufactured multiple times. It can also increase design flexibility, as the radial indentations and radial elevations can be more easily incorporated into the circumference of a roller disk than on a cylindrical roller. In particular, different roller disks can be combined with one another, which can significantly increase design flexibility.

[0041] In any case, however, gaps can be created between the individual roller discs in the transverse direction, where the soil cannot be touched by the first rollers or their roller discs. The width and thickness of the roller discs and the gaps between them can also influence the incorporation of the seed into the soil. In particular, the weight of the first roller can be reduced, both compared to a full-surface roller and between first rollers with different thicknesses or strengths of roller discs, which can also influence the extent to which the first rollers or their roller discs can penetrate the soil.

[0042] Preferably, the roller discs of the first roller are designed identically and aligned transversely to each other so that the radial indentations and radial projections are congruent when viewed transversely. This can make it possible to introduce the seed bodies into the soil in a grid pattern, which can be uniform and defined with regard to the spacing of the individual seed bodies from each other both in the longitudinal direction (the direction of movement) and the transverse direction. This can, in particular, enable a uniform introduction of the seed into the germination horizon.

[0043] According to a further aspect of the invention, at least one second roller with a plurality of, preferably stationary, roller disks is rotatably mounted on the frame, preferably behind the first roller in the direction of movement, wherein the roller disks of the first roller and the roller disks of the second roller engage with one another in the direction of movement and are preferably arranged alternately in the transverse direction. As a result, the spaces formed between the roller disks of the first roller in the transverse direction can be partially or, if the roller disks are arranged alternately in the transverse direction, completely utilized by the roller disks of the second roller in order to engage at least partially, in particular in the longitudinal or movement direction, into the spaces.

[0044] Correspondingly, seed can also be introduced into the soil between the roller discs of the first roller, i.e. in the area of the spaces between the first roller, by the roller discs of the second roller. This can preferably be done as described above, in that the roller discs of the second roller are designed to be comparable or identical to the roller discs of the first roller, as will be described in more detail below. In any case, the advantages of a second roller made up of roller discs can be used while at the same time incorporating the seed into the soil over as much of the surface as possible. For this purpose, the roller discs can be designed and arranged with as few gaps as possible in the transverse direction in order to work the seed into the soil as completely and simultaneously as possible, in cooperation with one another, in particular with the smallest possible spacing between their axes of rotation in the longitudinal direction or direction of movement.

[0045] However, such distances can also be deliberately provided between the immediately adjacent roller discs in the transverse direction to avoid contact between these roller discs during operation, which can be caused by manufacturing and assembly tolerances and lead to friction between the roller discs. This can cause noise and increase wear and the effort required to move the sowing device according to the invention.

[0046] However, the deliberate or significant distance between the immediately adjacent roller discs in the transverse direction can also promote the incorporation of the seed into the soil, since soil thrown up laterally by the roller discs of the first roller, including the seed, can be pushed back into the depressions in the soil left behind by the roller discs of the first roller, together with the seed, by the roller discs of the second roller as the rear roller in the direction of movement.

[0047] By using two intermeshing rollers, self-cleaning of the first roller can also be achieved by the second roller, and vice versa, in that soil components and the like that remain in the spaces between the first roller after contact with the ground and at least partially block the spaces can be removed there again by the roller discs of the second roller, and vice versa. This can be particularly promoted by rotating the area of the first roller vertically upwards after contact with the ground and the area of the second roller vertically downwards before contact with the ground, or vice versa, so that the two rollers engage each other in opposite directions, which can enhance self-cleaning.

[0048] According to a further aspect of the invention, the roller disks of the second roller have radial indentations, radial transition regions and radial projections, which are preferably designed and / or arranged like the roller disks of the first roller. As a result, the corresponding properties and advantages of the roller disks of the first roller, as described above, can be transferred to the roller disks of the second roller and also applied there. According to a further aspect of the invention, a disk distance between a roller disk of the first roller and a roller disk of the second roller that is immediately adjacent in the transverse direction is less than the disk thickness, preferably approximately half the disk thickness, of the roller disk of the first roller and / or the roller disk of the second roller. This allows the gaps between the immediately adjacent roller discs of both rollers to be kept small enough to prevent soil penetration as much as possible. Setting this disc spacing at approximately half the disc thickness can achieve this while also preventing the roller discs from rubbing against each other, which could cause noise and wear and impede movement.

[0049] According to a further aspect of the invention, the roller discs of the first roller are arranged, preferably stationary, on a roller shaft of the first roller, and the roller discs of the second roller are arranged, preferably stationary, on a roller shaft of the second roller, wherein the shaft distance between the roller shaft of the first roller and the roller shaft of the second roller is as small as possible to prevent contact between a roller disc and a roller. Thus, the roller discs of one roller can penetrate the spaces between the roller discs of the other rollers as completely as possible, and vice versa, which can promote self-cleaning as described above.

[0050] According to a further aspect of the invention, the second roller is suspended from the frame of the sowing device in a freely swinging manner by means of at least one support arm, preferably at each end by means of a support arm. A support arm stop is preferably provided in at least one direction of movement of the support arm, preferably in both directions of movement of the support arm.

[0051] According to a further aspect of the invention, at least one, preferably replaceable, roller damper is provided between the frame of the sowing device and the second roller, preferably a roller shaft of the second roller. This damper is designed to dampen the deflection of the first roller. This allows the corresponding features of the first roller to be applied to the second roller in order to realize the corresponding properties and advantages there as well, as already described.

[0052] As an alternative to suspending the two rollers with a support arm each, the first roller and the second roller can also be rotatably mounted on a pendulum mount, wherein the pendulum mount is rotatably mounted on the frame in such a way that the two rollers can be tilted together relative to the ground about the transverse axis. This allows a certain degree of mobility or adaptability relative to the ground for both rollers while keeping the corresponding effort to a minimum. The pendulum mount can in particular be designed as a triangle, so that an upper pivot point of the pendulum mount is connected to the frame and enables the rotational movement. The two rollers can be equally spaced from the upper pivot point along the longitudinal axis, so that an isosceles triangle is formed.

[0053] According to a further aspect of the invention, the sowing device has at least one, preferably height-adjustable and / or replaceable, track eradicator, which is arranged in front of the first roller in the direction of movement of the sowing device, and preferably in front of a harrow unit and / or in front of a sowing unit, and is designed to engage in the soil and loosen it. The track eradicator is thus designed to be arranged at least in front of the first roller in the longitudinal direction or direction of movement of the sowing device according to the invention and to engage in the soil in such a way that the soil can be loosened. Loosening the soil does not mean soil cultivation such as plowing or the like, which engages the soil much deeper and more laboriously than is possible with the track eradicator.Such preparatory soil cultivation is preferably not part of the sowing device according to the invention and must therefore be carried out with separate devices and equipment in a preceding work process. Rather, the wheel track eradicator merely serves to loosen the soil close to the surface in front of the first roller in the event that the previous preparatory cultivation took place some time ago and the soil in the surface area has hardened again in the meantime and / or if the soil in the surface area has been compacted by a person with their feet and / or by a traction device with a wheel. According to the invention, this is to be undone again by means of the wheel track eradicator in order to then be able to sow the seed into loose soil in the desired germination horizon, as described above.

[0054] Preferably, the wheel track eradicator is positioned on the seed drill where a wheel of a traction device rolls on the ground. This can facilitate the loosening effect of the wheel track eradicator precisely where the soil has been compacted by the wheel of a traction device, such as a tractor.

[0055] Additionally or alternatively, the track eradicator preferably has a plurality of foot elements with contact surfaces for essentially horizontal engagement with the soil, which are preferably designed to be height-adjustable and / or interchangeable. Due to the vertical positioning and / or design of the contact surfaces of the foot elements, this can bring about a loosening effect precisely in the area of the soil surface. In particular, the horizontal engagement can promote cultivation as close to the surface as possible, down to approximately the depth of the desired germination horizon. Providing the foot elements so that they are height-adjustable can enable the user to adjust or position the foot elements or their contact surface vertically as desired. Additionally or alternatively, preferably providing the foot elements so that they are interchangeable can enable the simple and quick use of different foot elements, for example depending on the particular soil, and / oror enable their replacement in case of wear or damage.

[0056] Preferably, the contact surfaces of the foot elements are curved toward the soil at least in sections along the edges in the direction of movement and / or in the transverse direction. This can facilitate a near-surface but simultaneously extensive penetration into the soil, in order to, on the one hand, loosen as much of the horizontal surface as possible, while, on the other hand, limiting this to the near-surface area of the soil, which corresponds to the vertical area up to the seeding horizon.

[0057] According to a further aspect of the invention, the sowing device has at least one harrow unit, which is preferably height-adjustable and / or replaceable, which is arranged in front of the first roller in the direction of movement of the sowing device, and preferably behind a wheel track eradicator and / or in front of a sowing unit, and is designed to smooth the soil. A harrow unit is understood to be a mechanical arrangement of projections pointing towards the soil or its surface, which projections touch the surface of the soil and can thereby smooth it. In particular, this should not result in any or no significant intervention in the soil or its surface, but rather distribute and / or spread projections on the surface of the soil as well as soil parts or clumps of soil lying on the surface of the soil.or shredded to prepare the soil as smoothly and uniformly as possible before the seed is applied to the soil and worked into the soil by at least the first roller as described above. For this purpose, the harrow unit or its individual harrows can be positioned with their ends or tips pointing diagonally against the direction of travel and thus "drag" across the soil or its surface in the direction of travel, so to speak, to merely skim the soil and thereby smooth it. This can be done, for example, at an angle of approximately 50° to the soil or its surface.

[0058] Preferably, the harrow unit comprises a plurality of harrows arranged in rows next to one another in the transverse direction and oriented with an open end toward the ground to make smooth contact with it. This could represent a concrete implementation possibility.

[0059] Preferably, the harrows are spring-loaded and / or attached to the harrow unit in a spring-loaded manner, preferably in a height-adjustable and / or replaceable manner. This can facilitate the harrows or their tips only touching and smoothing the surface of the soil, while penetrating the soil as little as possible, or not at all, which could counteract the desired smoothing effect. Making the harrows height-adjustable and / or replaceable can also enable the implementation of the corresponding properties and advantages previously described for the wheel track eradicator in the harrow unit.

[0060] According to a further aspect of the invention, the sowing device has at least one, preferably height-adjustable and / or replaceable, sowing unit, which is arranged in the direction of movement of the sowing device upstream of the first roller, and preferably downstream of a wheel track eradicator and / or a harrow unit, and is designed to apply seed to the soil. This allows the sowing device itself to apply the seed, which can save additional effort. In this case, too, providing height adjustment and / or interchangeability of the sowing unit can enable the implementation of the corresponding properties and advantages, as already described above with regard to other components.

[0061] Preferably, the seeding unit has an outlet opening that extends at least partially, preferably completely, across the width of the first roller in the transverse direction. This allows the seed to be applied to the soil surface transversely to the longitudinal or movement direction of the seeding device, which can promote a targeted and defined introduction of the seed into the soil.

[0062] Preferably, the outlet opening is designed as a slit in the transverse direction. This can facilitate a precisely positioned application of the seed to the soil surface.

[0063] Additionally or alternatively, the sowing unit preferably has a first wall and a second wall which extend in the transverse direction and together, at least in sections, form a hopper interior from which the individual seeds can emerge via the outlet opening towards the ground, wherein at least one of the walls is designed obliquely to the vertical direction in order to allow seeds to bounce towards a, preferably slit-like, outlet opening. This can promote the slowing down of the seeds by the bounce before emerging from the outlet opening and thereby allowing them to fall to the ground in a manner aligned to one another in the transverse direction as far as possible. This can promote the alignment of the seeds in the transverse direction.

[0064] The present invention also relates to a first roller for use in a sowing device as described above, wherein the first roller is designed to be rotatably mounted on a frame of the sowing device, wherein the first roller has a substantially cylindrical surface, wherein the first roller is designed to be rolled over a soil and to work seed into the soil, wherein the cylindrical surface of the first roller has, at least in sections, preferably over its entire circumference, alternating radial indentations and radial projections in the circumferential direction, and wherein the radial indentations each rise radially towards at least one radial projection, preferably towards both radial projections, by means of a radial transition region. In this way, a first roller can be provided in order to be able to implement a sowing device according to the invention as described above.

[0091] embodiment; and Figure 25 is a detailed view of the lower region of Figure 2 according to a seventh embodiment.

[0092] The above figures are viewed in Cartesian coordinates. There is a longitudinal direction X, which can also be referred to as depth X or length X. Perpendicular to the longitudinal direction X extends a transverse direction Y, which can also be referred to as width Y. Perpendicular to both the longitudinal direction X and the transverse direction Y extends a vertical direction Z, which can also be referred to as height Z and corresponds to the direction of gravity. The longitudinal direction X and the transverse direction Y together form the horizontal X, Y, which can also be referred to as the horizontal plane X, Y.

[0093] A sowing device 1 according to the invention according to a first embodiment is considered using the example of a sowing machine 1 as an agricultural device which can be used for sowing lawn seeds and for this purpose can be pulled by a tractor (not shown) over a soil as a subsoil (not shown).

[0094] The seed drill 1 has a frame 10, which forms the frame or support for the components of the seed drill 1. In the longitudinal direction X, which also represents a direction of movement A or a direction of pull A of the seed drill 1, three vehicle couplings 11 are arranged on the frame 10 in a triangular arrangement facing the tractor (see, for example, Figure 3) in order to be connected to the tractor as a towing vehicle.

[0095] The frame 10 has various parts or components which are arranged one behind the other along the longitudinal direction X and parallel to one another in the transverse direction Y between two side supports 16 of the frame 10, compare for example Figures 1 to 5. In the vertical Z above these components, a seed container 13 is provided, which can be reached by a user via several steps 14 past a railing 15.

[0096] In the longitudinal direction X or in the direction of movement A, a wheel track eradicator 2 is arranged first between the two side supports 16. A rubberized roller 12 is then rotatably mounted between the two side supports 16, with which the seed drill 1 can roll along the ground when the seed drill 1 is pulled by the tractor in the direction of movement A. This is followed by a harrow unit 3. A seeding unit 4 is provided after the harrow unit 3, which can receive seed 7 from the seed hopper 13 in the vertical direction Z and discharge it onto the ground.

[0097] For incorporating the seed 7 or the seed grains 7 or the seeds 7, a first, front roller 5 and a second, rear roller 6 are rotatably arranged between the side supports 16, which can also be referred to as the first, front seed roller 5 and the second, rear seed roller 6. The seed drill 1 terminates in the longitudinal direction X with a fixed crossbar 17, which holds the two side supports 16 together in the transverse direction Y and stabilizes them relative to each other, see, for example, Figures 1 and 4.

[0098] By means of the wheel track eradicator 2, the soil directly in front of the seed drill 1 is loosened in the area close to the surface, which can be done by means of several foot elements 23 which are arranged next to one another in the transverse direction Y. The wheel track eradicator 2 has three brackets 20, which can each be mounted by means of bracket fastenings 21 on the frame 10 of the seed drill 1 in at least two different positions in the vertical direction Z, see for example Figures 6 and 7. This can be at least one upper position in which engagement of the foot elements 23 in the soil can be prevented, and a lower position in which engagement of the foot elements 23 in the soil can take place. Other positions are possible in which engagements into the soil to different depths can take place by means of the foot elements 23.The adjustment of the respective holder 20 in the vertical direction Z can be carried out by the user by means of a handle 22.

[0099] In order to achieve the most extensive and, at the same time, closest to the surface possible, each holder 20 has four foot elements 23 arranged next to one another in the transverse direction Y, each of which is interchangeably arranged on the respective holder by means of a foot element fastening 25. Each foot element 23 has a contact surface 24 which is curved in the longitudinal direction X with the ends pointing towards the ground, as well as curved in the transverse direction Y with the ends pointing towards the ground. This enables particularly effective, close-to-surface engagement in the soil, in particular to loosen the two areas behind the tractor wheels after they have been compacted by the tractor.

[0100] In the longitudinal direction X, the wheel track eradicator 2 is followed by the rubberized roller 12, as already mentioned, which is rotatably mounted between the side brackets 16 and rolls on the ground when the seed drill 1 is pulled over the ground by the tractor, compare for example Figures 3 and 5. The rubberized roller 12 has several rubber tires arranged next to one another, which distribute the weight of the seed drill 1 as evenly as possible over the soil in order to avoid re-compacting it.

[0101] The rubberized roller 12 is now followed in the longitudinal direction X by the already mentioned harrow unit 3, which has a holder 30 which is continuous in the transverse direction Y and whose edge region is shown in Figures 8 and 9. The holder 30 of the harrow unit 3 has a plurality of holder through-openings 31 in the edge region, through which holder fastenings 32 in the form of holding screws 32 can be guided in order to be able to fasten the holder 30 and thus the entire harrow unit 3 in different positions in the vertical direction Z on the frame 10 of the sowing device 1. As a result, the harrow unit 3 can be adjusted to a certain extent in the vertical direction Z relative to the ground.

[0102] The harrow unit 3 has a plurality of spring-elastic harrows 33, which are arranged next to one another in the transverse direction Y and are each interchangeably fastened to the holder 30 of the harrow unit 3 by means of a common harrow holder 34. The harrow holder 34 is releasably held on the holder 30 of the harrow unit 3 by means of several harrow fastenings 35 in the form of harrow holder screws 35. The harrow holder 34 also has several handles 36 to enable a user to handle the harrow unit 3 or to position it in the vertical Z direction.

[0103] The individual harrows 33 are made of metal and are spirally curved, which allows for a spring-elastic effect on the soil. Accordingly, the tips of the harrows 33 can press against the soil in a spring-elastic manner, thereby smoothing it.

[0104] The sowing unit 4 arranged downstream in the longitudinal direction X receives the seed 7 from above in the vertical direction Z from the seed hopper 13 into a hopper interior 40 which is formed by a first wall 41 and a second wall 42, see for example Figures 10 and 11. The first wall 41 runs essentially in the plane of the vertical direction Z and the transverse direction Y, with the lower region of the first wall 41 as an edge bent away in the longitudinal direction X against the direction of movement A, see for example Figure 11. The second warning 42 initially forms a cover (not designated) of the hopper interior 40 in the horizontal X, Y, which has a plurality of inlet openings 43 spaced apart from one another in the transverse direction Y, which inlet openings guide the seed 7 from the seed hopper 13 into the hopper interior 40 by means of hoses (not shown). The second warning 42 then extends obliquely backward in the vertical direction Z, opposite to the direction of movement A, so that the hopper interior 40 narrows downward in the vertical direction Z to an outlet opening 44, which represents an outlet slot 44 running continuously in the transverse direction Y. The lower end of the second wall 42 is also bent away, but towards the direction of movement A. Both walls 41, 42 are held by mounting elements 46 on the frame 10 of the seed drill 1 and are connected to one another by wall connections 45 in the upper area.

[0105] The sowing unit 4 thus applies the seed 7 or the seed grains 7 in a linear and relatively evenly distributed manner in the transverse direction Y to the soil or its surface. The seed 7 is then worked into the soil in the vertical direction Z in order to form the most uniform germination horizon possible at a predetermined depth of approximately 5 mm to 10 mm. The incorporation of the seed 7 into the soil is achieved by the combination of the first, front roller 5 and the second, rear roller 6. For this purpose, both rollers 5, 6 have a plurality of roller discs 53, 63, each of which is arranged fixedly in the transverse direction Y through a shaft holder 53a, 63a on a roller shaft 50, 60 (see, for example, Figure 12).The roller discs 53, 63 each have a disc thickness B in the transverse direction Y and are arranged along their roller shaft 50, 60 with a disc spacing C from one another by spacers 52, 62, which are received by spacer receptacles 53b, 63b of the roller discs 53, 63, see for example Figures 12 and 17.

[0106] The roller discs 53, 63 are arranged alternately in the transverse direction Y, so that the roller discs 53, 63 alternately engage with one another, i.e., each is partially located in the space between the other roller 5, 6, see, for example, Figure 17. This enables self-cleaning of the two rollers 5, 6 in that the roller discs 53, 63 of one roller 5, 6 can clear the spaces between the roller discs 53, 63 of the other roller 5, 6 of soil components and the like, which can accumulate there during operation. This can be achieved particularly effectively by providing a disc spacing D in the transverse direction Y between the roller discs 53, 63 of the two rollers 5, 6, which corresponds approximately to half a disc thickness B of the engaging roller discs 53, 63, see, for example, Figure 17.This can be further promoted by keeping a shaft distance C in the longitudinal direction X between the two roller shafts 50, 60 as small as possible, see also Figure 17, for example.

[0107] In order to distribute the seed 7 or the seed grains 7 as evenly as possible in the horizontal X, Y and, so to speak, in a grid-like manner into the soil, and to form the germination horizon there at a predetermined depth in the vertical Z, the roller discs 53, 63 are designed in their circumferential direction at the edge such that concave radial indentations 53c, 63c alternate with radial projections 53d, 63d. The concave regions of the radial indentations 53c, 63c that rise radially toward the radial projections 53d, 63d represent radial transition regions 53e, 63e, which adjoin the radial projections 53d, 63d (see, for example, Figure 14).The radial indentations 53c, 63c extend in the circumferential direction approximately six times as far as the radial projections 53d, 63d, so that in the exemplary embodiment considered, 20 radial indentations 53c, 63c and 20 radial projections 53d, 63d are formed. The radial indentations 53c, 63c are set back approximately 6% of the radius from the radial projections 53d, 63d. The roller discs 53, 63 of the exemplary embodiment considered have a diameter of approximately 20 cm to approximately 25 cm. The previously described profiling according to the invention of the roller discs 53, 63 of the two rollers 5, 6 causes the rollers 5, 6 to be pulled over the ground in the direction of movement A by the tractor as a towing vehicle and to jointly introduce the seed 7 previously applied to the ground into the soil to the desired depth in the vertical Z.This occurs because the profiled edges of the first, front roller 5, due to the weight of the roller 5, penetrate into the soil with their radial projections 53d until the radial indentations 53c of the first, front roller 5 exert sufficient resistance against the soil and thereby prevent further penetration of the first, front roller 5 into the soil. Due to the previously described profiling of the edge of the first, front roller 5, a penetration depth into the soil in the vertical direction Z is achieved which corresponds to the desired depth of the germination horizon of approximately 5 mm to 10 mm. Accordingly, the seeds 7, which were applied comparatively evenly to the soil surface in front of the first, front roller 5 by the sowing unit 4, are now partially pressed into the soil by the first, front roller 5.

[0108] As the first, front roller 5 penetrates the soil, soil material is simultaneously pushed up laterally into the spaces between the roller discs 53 of the first, front roller 5, which can partially cover the seed 7 lying there on the surface of the soil. The following second, rear roller 6 now rolls with the profiled edges of its roller discs 63 partially there, i.e. in the spaces between the roller discs 53 of the first, front roller 5, on the surface of the soil, so that any seed 7 lying there is also worked into the soil to the desired depth, as described above. At the same time, seed 7 lying there laterally in the transverse direction Y next to the roller discs 63 of the second, rear roller 6 can be covered with soil material or pushed into the depressions in the soil left behind by the roller discs 53 of the first, front roller 5.

[0109] With a sufficiently large disc thickness B and sufficiently small disc spacing D between the roller discs 53, 63 of the two rollers 5, 6, an almost complete introduction of the seed 7 into the desired germination horizon and at least covering of the seed 7 with soil material can thus be achieved, so that the seed 7 can be almost completely germinated and used. The radial indentations 53c, 63c and radial projections 53d, 63d of both roller discs 53, 63 are each arranged congruently in the transverse direction Y for each roller 5, 6, which can promote a grid-like introduction of the seed grains 7 into the subsoil for each roller 5, 6.

[0110] To enable the two rollers 5, 6 to follow or compensate for unevenness in the ground, both rollers 5, 6 are each rotatably mounted in the transverse direction Y on support frames 54, 64 by means of roller mounts 51, 61 at both ends. The support arms 54, 64 are each pivotably mounted to the respective side mount 16 by means of support frame mounts 55, 65, so that the two rollers 5, 6 are suspended pivotably or freely swinging relative to the frame 10 of the sowing device 1 by means of the respective support arms 54, 64 (see, for example, Figure 16). The maximum pivoting movements of the two rollers 5, 6 are each limited by support arm stops 56, 66 in both directions (see, for example, Figure 16).

[0111] Roller dampers 57, 67 in the form of spring-elastic bodies are also provided, which are arranged on the side supports 16 in such a way that they can be exchanged in the vertical direction Z above the roller shafts 50, 60 of the two rollers 5, 6 in order to apply a spring-elastic force to the two rollers 5, 6 or their roller shafts 50, 60 downwards in the vertical direction Z and thus increase the pressure of the two rollers 5, 6 on the ground. In the exemplary embodiment considered, this is achieved by a metal spiral spring 57, 67, which is arranged vertically aligned on both sides of each roller 5, 6 between a fixed element (not designated) of the respective side support 16 and the respective roller support 51, 61 and acts or presses directly on the respective roller support 51, 61, see, for example, Figure 5.Due to the interchangeability of the roller dampers 57, 67, this pressure can be adapted to the respective soil by using different roller dampers 57, 67.

[0112] Figure 18 shows a perspective view of the rear area of Figure 5 according to a second embodiment, viewed diagonally from above. Figure 19 shows a plan view of a roller damper 57, 67 of Figure 18. Figure 20 shows a detailed view of the lower area of Figure 2 according to the second embodiment of Figure 18.

[0113] In this case, the two roller dampers 57, 67 are designed as metallic coil springs 57, 67 or as metallic coil spring pairs 57, 67, which can also be referred to as metallic coil spring packages 57, 67. For each pair of coil springs 57, 67, two different coil springs are used.

[0114] 57, 67 are used, which run parallel and act in the same direction. A pair of coil springs 57, 67 is each arranged on a common roller damper mount 58, 68, which in turn is fixedly attached to the respective side mount 16. Each roller damper mount 58, 68 has a plurality of holes 58a, 58b, so that the positioning of the roller damper mounts 58, 68 on the respective side mount 16 can be changed in discrete steps.

[0115] Each coil spring 57, 67 runs around a respective guide 58b, 68b of the roller damper brackets

[0116] 58, 68, thereby stabilizing and guiding the coil springs 57, 67. The so-called open ends of the guides 58b, 68b of the roller damper mounts 58, 68 are movably connected along the effective direction of the coil springs 57, 67 to a respective tappet connection 59b, 69b, which are jointly fixedly connected to a respective tappet 59, 69. The tappets 59, 69 each bear against the respective rollers 5, 6 or their roller shafts 50, 60 with a curved contact surface 59a, 59b. The spiral springs 57, 67 each act on the respective tappet 59, 69 via the tappet connections 59b, 69b, so that the spring forces can be transmitted to the rollers 5, 6 or their roller shafts 50, 60, as already described above with regard to the first embodiment.

[0117] Figure 21 shows a detailed view of the lower portion of Figure 2 according to a third embodiment. In this case, only the second, rear roller 6 has a pair of roller dampers 67 according to the second embodiment. The first, front roller 5 is fixedly mounted.

[0118] Figure 22 shows a detailed view of the lower portion of Figure 2 according to a fourth embodiment. In this case, only the first, front roller 5 has a pair of roller dampers 57 according to the second embodiment. The second, rear roller 6 is fixedly mounted.

[0119] Figure 23 shows a detailed view of the lower portion of Figure 2 according to a fifth embodiment. In this case, both rollers 5, 6 are fixedly mounted.

[0120] Figure 24 shows a detailed view of the lower region of Figure 2 according to a sixth embodiment. In this case, both rollers 5, 6 have a common roller damper 57 between them along the longitudinal axis X, which can be assigned to the first roller 5. For this purpose, the support arms 54, 64 of both rollers 5, 6 each have a tappet receptacle 59c, 69c facing each other along the longitudinal axis X, onto which the common tappet 59a presses from above along the vertical Z.

[0121] Figure 25 shows a detailed view of the lower area of Figure 2 according to a seventh exemplary embodiment. In this case, the two rollers 5, 6 or their roller shafts 50, 60 (illustrated by the respective external roller mounts 51, 61) are rotatably mounted on a common pendulum mount 8, wherein the pendulum mount 8 is rotatably mounted on the frame 10 such that the two rollers 5, 6 can be tilted together relative to the ground about the transverse axis Y. This allows a certain degree of mobility or adaptability relative to the ground for both rollers 5, 6 together, while keeping the corresponding effort to a minimum. The pendulum mount 8 is designed as a triangle, so that an upper pivot point 8a of the pendulum mount 8 is connected to the frame 10 and enables the rotational movement. The two rollers 5, 6 are equally spaced along the longitudinal axis X from the upper pivot point 8a, so that an isosceles triangle is formed.
