Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a water catcher for a roof drainage system and a roof drainage system with such a water catcher, wherein the roof drainage system is designed in particular as a flat roof drainage system.
[0002] Flat roof drainage typically requires pipe penetrations on facades or parapets. A drainage pipe penetrates the parapet or facade from the roof to be drained and discharges into a water collection box. Rainwater drained from the roof flows through the drainage pipe, so that the water flowing from the drainage pipe is collected in the water collection box, from which it flows via an outlet, for example, into a downpipe. Such a water collection box is disclosed, for example, in DE 103 44 828 A1.
[0003] Generic water traps also have an overflow - also called an emergency overflow - which is provided in addition to the drain and through which the water can escape to the outside in the event of a backflow in the water trap, so that overflow of the water trap or an undesirably high water level in the water trap is avoided.
[0004] The overflow is conventionally formed, for example, by a pipe socket inserted into a side wall of the water collection box, which is integrally connected to the side wall and extends outward from the side wall. Another conventional embodiment is disclosed in EP 2 806 081 B1. Here, the overflow is formed by a pipe socket located on the bottom of the water collection box in the inlet space of the water collection box.
[0005] Such an emergency overflow in the form of a pipe socket results in additional manufacturing costs and, if it is visible from the outside, is often not aesthetically pleasing.
[0006] US 2003 / 0074844 A1 discloses a rainwater downpipe with an overflow.
[0007] US 2019 / 0284811 A1 discloses a water trap with an overflow and an inner wall forming an overflow edge. To prevent backflow into the inlet, the overflow edge must be positioned below the overflow.
[0008] The present invention is based on the object of specifying a water catcher for a roof drainage system, in particular a flat roof drainage system, and a roof drainage system, in particular a flat roof drainage system, in which the overflow, which can be provided as an emergency overflow, can be produced cost-effectively and can be integrated elegantly into the water catcher.
[0009] The object of the invention is achieved by a water catcher having the features of claim 1. The dependent claims describe advantageous and particularly expedient embodiments of a water catcher according to the invention, as well as a roof drainage system with a water catcher according to the invention.
[0010] A water trap according to the invention comprises a base body enclosing an inlet chamber, which comprises a base with a drain and a side wall with an inlet. For example, the base body is box-shaped or cuboid-shaped. However, other shapes, such as cylindrical or free-form shapes, are also possible. The side wall completely encloses the inlet chamber unless one side of the inlet chamber is closed off by a wall adjoining the water trap, for example, a building wall, to which the side wall is sealed.
[0011] According to the invention, an overflow in the form of a cutout is positioned within the side wall that defines the inlet chamber on its outer sides, eliminating the need for a pipe socket as an overflow. Furthermore, the inlet and overflow are covered at a distance by a cover arranged in the inlet chamber.
[0012] The invention thus enables a stylish, cost-effective integration of the overflow into the base of the water trap, while simultaneously preventing rainwater flowing from the inlet into the inlet chamber of the water trap from accidentally splashing out of the overflow. Rather, the cover shields the overflow from the inlet and thus from incoming rainwater.
[0013] The base body advantageously has an upper side facing the floor, open to the environment, which is enclosed by a free peripheral edge of the base body. In other words, the water collection box is open to the environment at the top.
[0014] It is particularly preferred that the cover extends upwards to a height that is higher than a lower edge or even an upper edge of the inlet. This ensures that water flowing through the inlet bounces off the cover, even if a corresponding jet or surge has formed in the inlet due to heavy rain.
[0015] The cover should preferably extend over the upper edge of all overflows.
[0016] The overflow preferably has a circumferentially closed edge and is therefore not designed as an open-edged opening within the side wall.
[0017] This allows the overflow to be positioned comparatively closer to the base of the base body, while simultaneously limiting its height, preventing rainwater from splashing out. The stability of the upper edge of the water trap is also not compromised.
[0018] The overflow is preferably slot-shaped. If the slot is designed as a horizontal slot, a comparatively large effective flow area of the overflow can be immediately made available when the backwater rises within the inlet space up to the overflow. Furthermore, such a horizontal slot is pleasing in terms of design.
[0019] Preferably, several corresponding overflows, such as slots, are positioned next to each other and / or one above the other in the side wall of the base body. This allows the flow area for rainwater to be drained away due to backflow to be increased.
[0020] If several overflows are provided next to each other or horizontally above each other, one embodiment allows them to be covered by a common cover with a gap. This simplifies production.
[0021] According to one embodiment of the invention, the cover which covers the overflow(s) at a distance extends at a distance from the base of the base body. This lessens the hindrance to rainwater flowing through the drain or rainwater flowing from the inlet into the drain. The cover is either entirely or partially arranged at a distance from the ground. In the second alternative, the cover has a lower edge which only partially rests on the ground and includes a section which is positioned remote from the ground. Alternatively, part of the lower edge resting on the ground is angled relative to the remaining lower edge standing on the ground and also extends at a corresponding angle to an upper edge of the cover in order to create a corresponding lower recess in the cover and at the same time improve the stability of the cover on the ground.
[0022] According to one embodiment of the invention, the overflow is positioned frontally or diagonally opposite the inlet in the inlet chamber. For example, the inlet is provided on the rear side of the inlet chamber, i.e., on a side of the base body that is associated with a building wall, and the at least one overflow is provided in the front side or extending from the front side into a lateral outer side of the base body.
[0023] According to one embodiment of the invention, the base body is cuboid-shaped, and the overflow or overflows extend beyond a vertical edge of the base body. For example, the cover extends diagonally to the edge.
[0024] In such an embodiment, the cover preferably extends from a first edge, which delimits a surface of the side wall having the inlet, for example on the rear side of the base body, to a surface of the side wall opposite the surface having the inlet, in particular the front side of the base body, wherein the opposite surface is delimited by a second edge and in particular a third edge with the overflow(s), for example by a lateral, vertical outer edge or two lateral, vertical outer edges.
[0025] According to one embodiment of the invention, the cover is flat.
[0026] A particularly preferred embodiment of the invention provides for one or more, in particular two, covers to be connected to a support body and inserted together with the support body into the inlet chamber in the base body. For example, two flat covers extend at an angle on both sides of a flat support body, which rests flatly against the base body on its inner side, i.e., within the inlet chamber. This allows the covers to be held securely in the inlet chamber and, for example, extend at a distance from the base body's floor.
[0027] According to another embodiment, the cover can be angled and, in particular, have a base surface and two legs adjoining the base surface at an angle on both sides. These legs can be used to connect the cover to the side wall of the base body, in particular by means of a material fit and / or a form fit.
[0028] According to one embodiment, a partial volume of the inlet chamber located on the overflow side, which is separated from the remaining partial volume of the inlet chamber by the cover, is preferably smaller than the remaining partial volume of the inlet chamber located on the inlet side. Thus, a comparatively large volume is available for the flow of rainwater from the inlet to the outlet, and a comparatively smaller volume of the inlet chamber is separated from this by the cover.
[0029] A roof drainage system according to the invention, in particular a flat roof drainage system, has a substantially horizontal drainage pipe and a water collecting box according to the invention with a downpipe, wherein the downpipe is connected to the outlet or forms the outlet and the drainage pipe is connected to the inlet or forms the inlet.
[0030] The invention will be described below using exemplary embodiments and the figures.
[0031] They show: Figure 1 shows an embodiment of a water collection box according to the invention in an isometric view obliquely from below; Figure 2 shows the water collection box from the Figure 1 in an isometric view obliquely from above; Figure 3 a plan view from the front of the water collecting box of the Figures 1 and 2 ; Figure 4 shows a top view of an alternative embodiment of a water catcher according to the invention; Figure 5 shows a top view of a further alternative embodiment of a water catcher according to the invention; Figure 6 shows a top view of a further alternative embodiment of a water catcher according to the invention; Figure 7 shows an embodiment of covers connected to a support body.
[0032] In the Figures 1 to 3A first embodiment of a water collection box according to the invention is shown. This comprises a cuboid-shaped base body 2 that encloses an inlet chamber 1. The base body 2 has a bottom 3 and a side wall 5 that completely encloses the inlet chamber 1 horizontally. The water collection box, i.e., its base body 2, is open on its top side.
[0033] A drain 4 for rainwater is provided in the floor 3, and an inlet 6 is provided in the side wall 5. For example, to form the inlet 6, shown here only as an opening, a substantially horizontal drainage pipe is led through the side wall 5, which opens into the inlet space 1. Such a drainage pipe of a roof drainage system can, for example, penetrate a wall or a parapet of a building.
[0034] According to the invention, an overflow 7 is further provided within the side wall 5, through which rainwater backing up in the inlet space 1 can flow out of the water collection box. In the illustrated embodiment, a plurality of overflows 7 in the form of horizontal slots are provided, each extending over a lateral vertical edge, here a second edge 9.2 and a third edge 9.3 of the cuboid base body 2. In total, the cuboid base body 2 has four vertical edges 9.1 to 9.4, wherein the first and fourth vertical edges 9.1, 9.4 delimit the rear surface of the side wall 5 with the inlet 6, and the second and third vertical edges 9.2, 9.3 delimit the front of the base body 2.
[0035] All overflows 7 and the inlet 6 are covered at a distance by a cover 8. Preferably, the cover 8 or, if provided, the multiple covers 8 extend beyond the lower edge or even the upper edge of the inlet 6.
[0036] In the example shown, the Figures 1 to 3 A total of two covers 8 are provided, each cover 8 covering a group of overflows 7 arranged vertically one above the other in a respective side edge 9.2, 9.3.
[0037] In the exemplary embodiment shown, the covers 8 extend from the first vertical edge 9.1 or the fourth vertical edge 9.4 diagonally to the second vertical edge 9.2 or the third vertical edge 9.3 to the front of the base body 2. The covers 8 can be flat or each have an angled shape.
[0038] According to one embodiment, the covers 8 are simply inserted into the inlet chamber 1 or the side wall 5, i.e., they preferably form-fit to the side wall 5 on the inside. This eliminates the need for soldering or gluing. In particular, the covers 8 stand on the floor 3.
[0039] According to an alternative embodiment, the covers 8 are integrally connected, for example soldered, from the inside to the front side of the base body 2, as well as to the edge 9.1, 9.4 from which they originate.
[0040] How to use the hidden lines of the Figure 3 As can be seen, the covers 8 are at least partially spaced from the floor 3. For example, they include a lower cutout so as not to completely subdivide the lower storage space of the inlet chamber 1. Alternatively, they are arranged entirely at a distance from the floor 3.
[0041] According to one embodiment, the lower cutout can be produced by folding over a lower section of the respective cover 8. This creates a leg of the cover 8 that extends horizontally at an angle to the adjacent lower section of the cover 8, which gives the cover 8 greater stability when placed on the floor 3.
[0042] An embodiment which allows easy insertion of the covers 8 into the base body 2 and thereby holds the covers 8 securely in their desired positions is shown in the Figure 7 The two covers 8 are connected on both sides to a support body 10, which, as shown in the Figure 2indicated by the reference number 10, rests flatly on the inside of the base body 2, in particular on the front of the base body 2, and from which the covers 8 extend diagonally backwards in the inlet space 1, in particular, as shown, into the first edge 9.1 or fourth edge 9.4. This prevents the covers 8 from slipping on the front of the base body 2 and in particular makes it possible for the covers 8 as a whole to be arranged at a distance from the floor 3. The covers 8 are held particularly stably in the base body 2, even if the support body 10 and the covers 8 are only inserted into the base body 2 in a form-fitting manner, but are not connected to it in a material-fitting manner.
[0043] For example, the support body 10 and the covers 8 can be made in one piece from folded sheet metal.
[0044] In the embodiment according to the Figure 4an overflow 7 is provided only on the front side of the base body 2, or several overflows 7 are provided in the front side of the base body 2, which extend from only one cover 8, which extends diagonally from a vertical edge delimiting the rear side, here the fourth edge 9.4, through the inlet space 1 to a front vertical edge, here the second vertical edge 9.2.
[0045] In the embodiment of the Figure 5 the cover 8 extends parallel to the front and rear surfaces of the side wall 5 of the base body 2 and can therefore cover one or more overflows 7 on the front side of the inlet space and / or in the front area of the lateral outer sides of the base body 2.
[0046] In the embodiment according to the Figure 6the cover 8 covers the inlet 6 at a distance, so that the one or more overflows 7 can be positioned relatively freely in the side wall 5 of the base body 2, for example on the front and / or in the lateral outer sides of the base body 2.
[0047] In this embodiment, the cover 8 is angled and comprises a base surface 8.1, to which a leg 8.2 is connected on each side, wherein the cover 8 is fastened with the two legs 8.2 to the rear side of the base body 2 next to the inlet 6, for example by means of a material fit.
