Abstract

The invention relates to a parasol comprising a canvas covering a frame which comprises angularly spaced arms (A) delimiting different radial canvas sections (S), the parasol comprising a storage pocket (P) which comprises an opening (O), characterized in that the opening (O) of the pocket is arranged along a frame arm (A) between two radial canvas sections (S).

Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a beach parasol (or a sunshade or umbrella considered as synonyms). In particular, the invention relates to a parasol incorporating one or more storage pockets.

[0002] This pocket can hold keys, cigarettes, a lighter, a bottle of cosmetics such as sun shade, a wallet, a mobile phone, etc. or any other object that risks getting lost in the sand or getting stuck in the sand.

[0003] The prior art has proposed parasols with a lining over an entire radial canvas section, and a zipper at a peripheral edge of the canvas section.

[0004] This type of parasol is not satisfactory because it requires a large amount of canvas for a pocket. Furthermore, it puts significant stress on the canvas and can lead to premature tearing of the canvas during use.

[0005] An objective of the present invention is to remedy the defects of the prior art, and in particular to propose a solution for limiting the quantity of canvas used, as well as the forces applied to the canvas.

[0006] To achieve this objective, the invention provides a parasol comprising a canvas covering a frame which comprises angularly spaced arms delimiting different radial canvas sections, the parasol comprising a storage pocket which comprises an opening, characterized in that the opening of the pocket is arranged along a frame arm between two radial canvas sections.

[0007] The position along the frame arm allows the pocket to be mechanically reinforced.

[0008] According to one aspect, the opening is closable. Preferably, the opening is equipped with a zipper. Preferably, the opening is equipped with closing buttons or a hook-and-loop closure system. Preferably, the pocket hangs inside the open parasol. Preferably, the pocket is removably attached to the parasol canvas. Preferably, the pocket represents an area less than 50%, preferably less than 25% of a radial canvas section. Preferably, the opening is provided in a masking fold of the radial canvas sections. Preferably, the opening is provided outwardly towards the top of the open parasol. Preferably, the opening is provided inwardly towards the bottom of the open parasol.

[0010] The invention consists of incorporating one or more P pockets (or pockets) on the parasol canvas.

[0011] These P pockets can be stapled or held to the parasol canvas by buttons (such as snap fasteners) or a hook-and-loop system such as a VELCRO ® strip.

[0013] The P pockets (or their system for attaching them to the parasol) can be attached during sewing, between the panels forming the parasol dome (radial canvas sections S).

[0014] According to the invention, an opening O is made in the parasol canvas and extends into the pocket P (or pocket). The opening O is arranged along a frame arm A between two radial canvas sections S. The pocket P is closed by a zipper F or buttons.

[0015] Preferably, the opening O and its closing system (in particular the zipper F) are arranged in a masking fold of the radial sections of fabric S. This is for example a flap of fabric covering the opening O, or beads of fabric on either side of the opening O arranged against each other so as to cover and mask the opening O and its closing system.

Claims

1. Parasol comprising a canvas covering a frame which comprises angularly spaced arms (A) delimiting different radial canvas sections (S), the parasol comprising a storage pocket (P) which comprises an opening (O), characterized in that the opening (O) of the pocket is arranged along a frame arm (A) between two radial sections of canvas (S).

2. Parasol according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the opening (O) is closable.

3. Parasol according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the opening (O) is equipped with a zipper (F).

4. Parasol according to one of claims 2 to 3, characterized in that the opening is equipped with closing buttons or a hook-and-loop closure system.

5. Parasol according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the pocket (P) hangs inside the open parasol.

6. Parasol according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the pocket (P) is removably attached to the parasol canvas.

7. Parasol according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the pocket (P) represents an area less than 50%, preferably less than 25% of a radial canvas section (S).

8. Parasol according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the opening (O) is provided in a fold masking the radial canvas sections (S).

9. Parasol according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the opening (O) is arranged towards the outside towards the top of the open parasol.

10. Parasol according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the opening (O) is arranged inwards towards the underside of the open parasol.
