Based on the above, it is desired to further improve the longevity, functionality, and / or appearance of window screens, in particular window screens which may be exposed to various of weather conditions.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0005] It is an object to at least partially mitigate, alleviate or eliminate one or more of the above-identified deficiencies in the art and disadvantages singly or in any combination and solve at least the above-mentioned problem.
[0006] This and other objects are achieved by providing a batten arrangement and a window screen arrangement having the features in the independent claims. Preferred embodiments are defined in the dependent claims.
[0007] Hence, according to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a batten arrangement for a window screen, comprising an elongated batten member extending in a length direction, L, wherein the elongated batten member comprises a female recess extending along the length of the elongated batten member. The batten arrangement further comprises an elongated male locking member extending in the length direction, L. The female recess of the batten member is arranged to securely receive the male locking member, wherein the male locking member has a corresponding shape compared to the female recess of the batten member and is intended to be fitted in the female recess of the batten member in a male-female configuration. The batten arrangement is arranged to clamp the window screen between the female recess of the batten member and the male locking member.
[0008] According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided a window screen arrangement for a window, comprising a roller tube extending in a first length direction, L 1 , and comprising a window screen extending in a plane, P, wherein the first length direction, L 1 , coincides with the plane, P. The window screen arrangement further comprises at least one batten arrangement according to the first aspect of the present invention, transversely extending across the window screen in the first length direction, L 1 . The window screen is configured to be moved between a roll-up position and a deployed position, and wherein in the roll-up position, the window screen is arranged to be rolled around the roller tube.
[0009] Thus, the first and second aspect of the present invention are based on the common concept or idea of providing a batten arrangement or window screen arrangement comprising such batten arrangement arranged to adaptable strengthen the structural integrity of the window screen to endure the surrounding environment. Hence, the first and second aspect of the present invention share a common general inventive concept of providing a batten arrangement or window screen arrangement comprising such batten arrangement wherein the structural integrity of the window screen is increased by adaptable clamping at least one batten arrangement across the window screen.
[0010] The present invention is advantageous in that the batten arrangement comprises an elongated batten member comprising a female recess and an elongated male locking member, wherein the female recess is arranged to securely receive the male locking member, and wherein the batten arrangement is arranged to clamp the window screen between the female recess and the male locking member. This enables an adaptable batten arrangement intended to increase the structural integrity of a window screen. Hence, the batten arrangement enables high compatibility with a variety of window screens. For example, there is no need of providing additional features or elements, such as pockets or loops, to hold the batten arrangement in an intended place. Furthermore, a plurality of batten arrangements may be combined according to different needs, requirements, and / or desires based on the surroundings of the batten arrangement and the window screen. For example, a batten arrangement installed in an area susceptible to harsh weather, e.g., relatively high winds, may benefit from having a higher number of batten arrangement compared to an arrangement installed in an area susceptible to calmer weather, e.g., relatively weak winds. Furthermore, the batten arrangement is relatively easy to install to a window screen for a user by clamping the window screen between the batten member and the male locking member. For example, installing the batten arrangement does not require a large force exercised by a user on the batten arrangement, and / or the need of several additional tools and appliances. Additionally, if needed, the batten arrangement may relatively easy be removed after installation, providing for an even more adaptable batten arrangement. In other words, the male locking member may be reversibly fitted in the female recess of the batten member in a male-female configuration. Hence, the batten arrangement may be relatively easy adapted in situ by the user.
[0011] The present invention is further advantageous in that the batten arrangement overall comprises relatively few components. The relatively low number of components is advantageous in that the batten arrangement may be relatively inexpensive and non-complex to fabricate. Moreover, the low number of components of the batten arrangement implies an easier production, handling, and / or transporting compared to devices or arrangements comprising a relatively high number of components which impede an easy assembling / disassembling and / or transporting operation. Also, the relatively few components facilitate for mass production of the batten arrangement.
[0012] It should be noted that the male locking member has a corresponding shape compared to the female recess of the batten member and is intended to be fitted in the female recess of the batten member in a male-female configuration. Hence, the male locking member is arranged to be coupled, joined, connected, linked, fastened, fitted, or the like to the female recess of the batten member. The male-female configuration provides for a secure and reliable connection between the male locking member and the female recess of the batten member. The corresponding shape of the male locking member and the female recess of the batten member also allows for a precise fit. Thus, the risk of incorrect disconnection between the male locking member and the female recess of the batten member is reduced, and / or the risk of damaging the batten arrangement under load, vibration, or the like.
[0013] The present invention is further advantageous in that the window screen arrangement comprises a roller tube and at least one batten arrangement transversely extending across the window screen. This increases the structural integrity of the window screen, making the window screen less vulnerable to its surroundings. Hence, the present invention may reduce the risk of damages caused to the window screen, and therefore increase the longevity of the window screen and / or ensuring proper functioning.
[0014] The present invention is also advantageous in that the window screen is configured to be moved between a roll-up position and a deployed position, wherein in the roll-up position, the window screen is arranged to be rolled around the roller tube. This allows for an efficient way, at least in terms of energy and time, of retracting and deploying the window screen. Also, having the window screen being arranged to be rolled around the roller tube provides for a compact and space-saving window screen arrangement, taking up minimal space and keeping the window area clear. The roller tube also allows for a clean and aesthetically pleasing design.
[0015] Thus, the present invention provides for a batten arrangement and a window screen arrangement highly adaptable to different needs, requirements, and / or desires of a user in regard to e.g., choice of window screen and weather conditions, whilst providing a durable and reliable protection against e.g., incident sunlight along with the resulting heat and UV radiation.
[0016] There is provided a batten arrangement comprising an elongated batten member comprising a female recess. By the term "batten member", it is here meant a member, element, component, part, or the like suitable to provide support, reinforcement, strength, stiffness, or the like. In other words, the batten member is provided to increase a structural integrity of another element, component, arrangement, such as a window screen. By "recess", it is here meant a cavity, an indentation, a hollowed-out space, or the like. The batten arrangement further comprises an elongated male locking member intended to be fitted in the female recess in a male-female configuration. By the term "male locking member", it is here meant that a member, element, component, part, or the like is arranged to be connected, joined, coupled, linked, or the like to the female recess in a locked, secured, fastened, fixed, or the like manner. Furthermore, the male locking member has a corresponding shape compared to the female recess of the batten member. Hence, the shape of the male locking member corresponds, matches, aligns, or the like to the female recess of the batten member, in order for the male locking member to be fitted in the female recess.
[0017] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the batten member and the male locking member may have a concave cross section along the length direction, L. This is advantageous in that a concave cross section along the length direction, L, of the batten member and the male locking member may enable an increased friction between the female recess of the batten member and the male locking member. Such increased friction may enable a better fit of the male locking member in the female recess of the batten member. Hence, the fit, connection, joining, coupling, link, or the like of the male locking member in the female recess of the batten member may be increased. Therefore, the batten arrangement may clamp a window screen between the female recess of the batten member and the male locking member with an increased clamping function, effectiveness, or the like. Thus, the risk of incorrect disconnection between the male locking member and the female recess of the batten member may be reduced, and / or the risk of damaging the batten arrangement under load, vibration, or the like.
[0018] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the male locking member may have two opposite end edges along the length direction, L. The batten arrangement may comprise two sliding members, each sliding member arranged at a respective end edge of the two end edges of the male locking member, wherein the two sliding members may have a concave cross section along the length direction, L. By "sliding members", it is here meant any member, element, component, part, or the like configured to be slidable or moveable relative another part. This may be achieved by the sliding member for example comprising a material suitable for sliding relative other materials and / or comprising a wheel arrangement. The present embodiment is advantageous in that the sliding members may provide for a more versatile and adaptable batten arrangement in regard to different needs, requirements, and / or desires based on the surroundings of the batten arrangement and the window screen. For example, the batten arrangement may be more effortlessly and smoothly slid, moved, or the like relative other elements, such as a building wall. This may reduce wear and potential damage to the batten arrangement. This is especially advantageous when the batten arrangement is in use by clamping a window screen between the female recess of the batten member and the male locking member.
[0019] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the end edges of the male locking member may extend beyond the batten member along the length direction, L, wherein each sliding member may be arranged at a respective end edge of the two end edges of the male locking member by at least a distance, D, from the batten member along the length direction, L. Hence, there is at least a distance, D, between each sliding member and the batten member along the length direction, L. The present embodiment is advantageous in that the end edges of the male locking member may extend beyond the batten member along the length direction, L, wherein the sliding members may be arranged on the male locking member by at least a distance, D, from the batten member along the length direction, L. This allows for a slenderer batten arrangement in at least one direction perpendicular to the length direction, L, for example the width of the batten arrangement and / or the thickness of the batten arrangement. This is favourable as the present embodiment may provide a more material-efficient batten arrangement. Also, the batten arrangement may be more compact, taking up less space. Therefore, the present embodiment may facilitate production, handling, and / or transporting operations.
[0020] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the batten arrangement may comprise at least one fastening element arranged to tighten the male locking member to the female recess of the batten member. By "fastening element", it is here meant any member, element, component, part, or the like suitable to (further) tighten, fasten, or the like the male locking member to the female recess of the batten member. For example, the at least one fastening element may comprise a stop screw, but it should be noted that any suitable fastening element is plausible, such as other types of screws, pins, bolts, rivets, etc. The present embodiment is advantageous in that the male locking member may be securely received to a higher degree by the female recess of the batten arrangement. Thus, the risk of unintentional uncoupling, disconnection, or the like between the male locking member and the female recess may be reduced. Hence, the present embodiment provides for a more reliable batten arrangement with an increased functioning. Additionally, the risk of damaging the batten arrangement under load, vibration, or the like may also be reduced.
[0021] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the batten member may comprise a groove extending in the length direction, L, and wherein the at least one fastening element may be arranged in the groove. Hence, the groove may serve as an indicator for where to arrange the at least one fastening element, in order to tighten the male locking member to the female recess of the batten member. The present embodiment is advantageous in that the groove indicates a suitable arrangement of the at least one fastening element in relation to the male locking member and the female recess of the batten member. Furthermore, the groove may enable the fastening element(s) to tighten the male locking member to the female recess in a more secure manner. For example, the risk of the fastening element(s) loosening due to vibrations, dynamic loads, or the like may be reduced if arranged in the groove. Additionally, the fastening element(s) may be less exposed to wear and tear when arranged in the groove. Also, it is favourable that the risk of surrounding objects snagging, ripping, catching on etc., to the fastening element(s) may be reduced if the fastening element(s).
[0022] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the batten member may be arranged to at least partially enclose the male locking member. Thus, all or only a portion of the male locking member may be enclosed by the batten member. The present embodiment is advantageous in that the degree of the securing, fastening, coupling, connecting, joining, or the like of the male locking member to the female recess of the batten member may be increased. Hence, the risk of unplanned and / or unwanted disconnections between the male locking member and the female recess may be reduced. Hence, the present embodiment may provide for a more reliable and low-maintenance batten arrangement. Additionally, the risk of damaging the batten arrangement under load, vibration, or the like may also be reduced, increasing the longevity of the batten arrangement.
[0023] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the male locking member may comprise an abutment extending along a first surface of the male locking member in the length direction, L, wherein the first surface of the male locking member is opposite a second surface of the male locking member, wherein the second surface of the male locking member may be intended to be fitted in the female recess of the batten member. Hence, the abutment may function as a grip, handle, or the like of the batten arrangement for a user. The abutment may extend all along the first surface of the male locking member in the length direction, L, or only along a portion of said first surface. The present embodiment is advantageous in that it may facilitate handling and / or installation of the batten arrangement relative a window screen for a user.
[0024] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the window screen arrangement may comprise two side rails, each side rail extending in a second length direction, L 2 , perpendicular to the first length direction, L 1 , and coinciding with the plane, P. The at least one batten arrangement may have two opposite batten end edges along the first length direction, L 1 , wherein each batten end edge may be arranged to be guided in a respective side rail of the two side rails. Hence, the two side rails may be arranged at a respective side of the window screen, opposite each other, wherein the batten arrangement(s) may be arranged to be guided in a respective side rail of the two side rails. The present embodiment is advantageous in that the batten end edges of the batten arrangement(s) may be arranged to be guided in a respective side rail of the two side rails. This provides for a more sturdy, durable, resilient, etc., window screen arrangement to external forces. For example, the window screen arrangement may be more resistant to harsh weather such as strong winds. Furthermore, the present embodiment may provide for a more aesthetically pleasing window screen arrangement. For example, at least a portion of the batten arrangement(s) may be guided in the side rails, i.e., at least partially covered, enclosed, hidden, etc.
[0025] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the male locking member may have two opposite end edges along the first length direction, L 1 . The batten arrangement may comprise two sliding members, wherein each sliding member may be arranged at a respective end edge of the two end edges of the male locking member. The two sliding members may have a concave cross section along the first length direction, L 1 , wherein each sliding member of the two sliding members may be arranged to be guided in a respective side rail of the two side rails. The present embodiment is advantageous in that the sliding members may be arranged to be guided in a respective side rail, thus allowing for a smooth and effortless sliding movement of the batten arrangement in regard to the side rails. Hence, the present embodiment may provide for a more pleasant user experience. Also, the sliding members may reduce the risk of malfunctioning or damage to the window screen arrangement, especially when the window screen moves between the roll-up position and the deployed position. Therefore, the longevity of the window screen arrangement may be increased.
[0026] It is noted that the sliding members may have a concave cross section along the first length direction, L 1 . This is favourable as the window screen may be more compactly rolled around the roller tube, thus providing a more space-saving window screen arrangement. Hence, the concave cross section of the sliding member enables a more tight, compact, close-fitting, etc., roll-up position of the window screen and the batten arrangement(s) in relation to the roller tube. This is desirable as the risk of damaging components, elements, features, etc., of the window screen arrangement may be reduced e.g., during movement of the window screen between the roll-up position and the deployed position. Furthermore, the concave cross section of the sliding members provides a less frictional movement of the batten arrangement(s) in regard to the side rails. The present embodiment is thus further advantageous in that the movement of the window screen between a roll-up position and a deployed position may be performed more energy efficient and effortless.

Hence, the batten arrangement and / or the two sliding members may have a cross section corresponding to a cross section along the first length direction, L 1 , of the roller tube. The present embodiment is advantageous in that a corresponding cross section of the roller tube and at least one of the batten arrangement and the two sliding members enables an improved fit, alignment, congruence, compatibility, etc., of batten arrangement and / or the two sliding members in relation to the roller tube. This is favourable in that the window screen arrangement may be more compact, taking up less space. Also, with said improved fit or alignment, the risk of damaging the window screen arrangement, especially when the window screen moves between the roll-up position and the deployed position, may be decreased.
[0028] According to an embodiment of the present invention, wherein the window screen arrangement may comprise an end boom arranged along a first edge of the window screen, in the first length direction, L 1 , wherein the roller tube may be connected to the window screen along a second edge of the window screen, and wherein the first edge of the window screen is opposite the second edge of the window screen. The present embodiment is advantageous in that the end boom may assist in maintaining the window screen taut and straight, and / or functioning as an extra weight to the window screen. Hence, the present embodiment provides for a more stable and durable window screen arrangement, and less vulnerable to various weather conditions.
[0029] According to an embodiment of the present invention, the end boom may be arranged to be guided in the two side rails. For example, a respective end edge of the end boom may be arranged to be guided in a respective side rail of the two side rails. The present embodiment is advantageous in that the end boom may be arranged to be guided in the two side rails. This provides a more sturdy, durable, resilient, etc., window screen arrangement to external forces, such as various weather conditions. Further, according to Fig. 2, the fastening element 170 is arranged at a side edge of the batten member 120 of the batten arrangement 100, but it should be noted that fastening element(s) 170 may be arranged at any other position relative the batten arrangement 100 and / or the batten member 120. For example, at least two fastening elements 170 may be arranged at opposite side edges of the batten member 120 in order to tighten the male locking member 140 to the female recess 130 of the batten member 120. According to an example, the fastening element(s) 170 comprises a biasing element (not shown) to allow the male locking member 140 to be biased, clicked, snapped, forged, or the like into place in the female recess 130.
[0041] The batten member 120 further comprises a groove 180 extending in the length direction, L. The groove 180 may fully extend along the batten member 120 in the length direction, L, or only along a portion of the batten member 120 in the length direction, L. As shown in Fig. 2, the at least one fastening element 170 is arranged in the groove 180. It should be noted that the groove 180 may be one continuous groove extending in the length direction, L, or a plurality of discontinuous grooves extending in the length direction, L. Hence, several fastening elements 170 may be arranged in the groove 180. The groove 180 may act as a visual aid for a user on where to arrange the fastening element(s) 170. In Fig. 2, the groove 180 is arranged along a side edge of the batten member 120 extending in the length direction, L. It should be noted that the groove 180 may be arranged at other positions of the batten arrangement 100 and / or the batten member 120.
[0042] Furthermore, the batten member 120 is arranged to at least partially enclose the male locking member 140. In other words, the batten member 120 is arranged to surround, encompass, cover, etc., the male locking member 140 to some extent. The batten member 120 may be arranged to fully enclose the male locking member 140, or only a portion.
[0043] The male locking member 140 comprises an abutment 190 extending along a first surface 200 of the male locking member 140 in the length direction, L. The abutment 190 may fully extend along the first surface 200 of the male locking member 140, or only along a portion. Furthermore, the abutment 190 may be one continuous abutment extending in the length direction, L, or a plurality of discontinuous abutments extending in the length direction, L. The abutment 190 of the male locking member 140 may function as a handle, lever, etc., to aid the assembly of the batten arrangement 100. The first surface 200 of the male locking member 140 is opposite a second surface 210 of the male locking member 140, wherein the second surface 210 of the male locking member 140 is intended to be fitted in the female recess 130 of the batten member 120. Hence, the second surface 210 of the male locking member 140 is facing the female recess 130 of the batten member 120. Furthermore, when in use, the second surface 210 of the male locking member 140 is facing the window screen 110. According to an example, only a portion of the second surface 210 of the male locking member 140 is intended to be fitted in the female recess 130 of the batten member 120.
[0044] Fig. 3 schematically shows a perspective view of an inset of a portion of a batten arrangement 100 when in use according to an exemplifying embodiment of the present invention. It should be noted that the batten arrangement 100 shown in Fig. 3 has several features in common with the batten arrangement 100 shown in Figs. 1 and 2, and some references have been omitted in Fig. 3 for this reason. It is hereby referred to Figs. 1 and 2 and the associated text for an increased understanding of some of the features and / or functions of the batten arrangement 100.
[0045] As indicated in Fig. 3, the male locking member 140 has two opposite end edges 150 along the length direction, L. For the sake of brevity and clarity, only one end edge 150 with an associated sliding member 160 of the male locking member 140 is disclosed. The batten arrangement 100 further comprises two sliding members 160, each sliding member 160 arranged at a respective end edge 150 of the two end edges 150 of the male locking member 140. According to Fig. 3, the sliding members 160 encloses a respective end edge 150 of the male locking member 140. Also, (optional) fastening means, such as a rivet, is attached to each sliding member 160 to further fasten, tighten, join, connect, or the like the sliding member 160 to the male locking member 140. The two sliding members 160 have a concave cross section along the length direction, L. The concave cross section of the two sliding members 160 along the length direction, L, may be corresponding to the concave cross section of the batten member 120 and the male locking member 140. In other words, the sliding members 160 may have the same curvature of their concave cross section, a corresponding degree of curvature / concavity, or the like, as the cross section of the batten member 120 and the male locking member 140. According to an example, at least one of a thickness and a width, perpendicular to the length direction, L, of the sliding members 160 may be the same as that of a corresponding thickness respective width of the batten member 120.
[0046] Moreover, the end edges 150 of the male locking member 140 extend beyond the batten member 120 along the length direction, L. Hence, the male locking member 140 is longer than the batten member 120, along the length direction, L. Each sliding member 160 is arranged at a respective end edge 150 of the two end edges 150 of the male locking member 140 by at least a distance, D, from the batten member 120 along the length direction, L. In other words, the sliding members 160 are separated from the batten member 120 by at least the distance, D.
[0047] Fig. 4 schematically shows a perspective view of an inset of a portion of a batten arrangement 100 when in use according to an exemplifying embodiment of the present invention. It should be noted that the batten arrangement 100 shown in Fig. 4 has several features in common with the batten arrangement 100 shown in Figs. 1-3, and some references have been omitted in Fig. 4 for this reason. It is hereby referred to Figs. 1-3 and the associated text for an increased understanding of some of the features and / or functions of the batten arrangement 100. Especially, Fig. 4 discloses a similar batten arrangement 100 as that of the batten arrangement 100 shown in Fig. 3, but from another perspective. For example, a groove 180 and an abutment 190 are visible in Fig. 4.
[0048] According to an example, the sliding members 160 is made of a material comprising polycarbonate. This is advantageous as polycarbonate may glide relatively smooth, effortless, efficient, etc., relative other materials, for example aluminium. Polycarbonate is a versatile and durable thermoplastic polymer, in terms of e.g., impact and heat. Furthermore, polycarbonate may be UV-resistant. According to an example, the sliding members 160 may be produced without the chemical compound of bisphenol A (BPA). BPA is a common compound in the production of polycarbonate plastics and resins but may pose a health risk for users. The omittance of BPA may also facilitate recycling due to its chemical composition and potential regulatory considerations.
[0049] Fig. 5 schematically shows a perspective view of a window screen arrangement 300 comprising a batten arrangement 100 according to an exemplifying embodiment of the present invention. It should be noted that the batten arrangement 100 shown in Fig. 5 has several features in common with the batten arrangement 100 shown in Figs. 1-4, and some references have been omitted in Fig. 5 for this reason. It is hereby referred to Figs. 1-4 and the associated text for an increased understanding of some of the features and / or functions of the batten arrangement 100.
[0050] Fig. 5 discloses a window screen arrangement 300 for a window, comprising a roller tube 310 extending in a first length direction, L 1 . The roller tube 310 comprises a window screen 110 extending in a plane, P, wherein the first length direction, L 1 , coincides with the plane, P. The first length direction, L 1 , may be the same as the length direction, L, described herein. It should be noted that the window screen 110 in Fig. 5 has a rectangular shape to fit a rectangular window, but other shapes are equally feasible. Furthermore, according to an example, the window screen 110 is flexible. According to another example, the window screen 110 is at least partially flexible.
[0051] The window screen arrangement 300 further comprises at least one batten arrangement 100 according to any embodiment described herein, transversely extending across the window screen 110 in the first length direction, L 1 . For the sake of brevity and clarity, (exactly) one batten arrangement 100 is arranged on the window screen 110, but it is to be understood that any number of batten arrangements 100 are plausible.
[0052] The window screen 110 is configured to be moved between a roll-up position and a deployed position, and wherein in the roll-up position, the window screen 110 is arranged to be rolled around the roller tube 310. It should be noted that the window screen 110 may remain at any position between the roll-up position and the deployed position. It should also be noted that when the window screen 110 is in a roll-up position, the batten arrangement(s) 100 is also rolled around the roller tube 310.
[0053] The position of the window screen 110 of the window screen arrangement 300 may be manually adjusted and / or automatically adjusted. For example, the window screen arrangement 300 may comprise a handle for a user to manipulate in order to alter the position of the window screen 110. In addition to, or in combination, the window screen arrangement 300 may comprise a motorized mechanism in order to move the window screen 110 between the roll-up position and the deployed position. Furthermore, the window screen arrangement 300 may comprise a control unit configured to control the window screen arrangement 300. The control unit may be an external control unit, available to a user to control the window screen arrangement 300. For example, a user may control the window screen 110 to be fully deployed. The window screen arrangement 300 may further comprise at least one sensor configured to measure the amount of incident natural light and / or temperature, to adjust the window screen 110 accordingly. For example, during intense sunlight, the window screen arrangement 300 may be configured to deploy the window screen 110 to reduce heat and glare.
[0054] Fig. 6 schematically shows a perspective view of an inset of a portion of a window screen arrangement 300 comprising a batten arrangement 100 according to an exemplifying embodiment of the present invention. It should be noted that the batten arrangement 100 shown in Fig. 6 has several features in common with the batten arrangement 100 shown in Figs. 1-5, and some references have been omitted in Fig. 6 for this reason. It is hereby referred to Figs. 1-5 and the associated text for an increased understanding of some of the features and / or functions of the batten arrangement 100.
[0055] The window screen arrangement 300 of Fig. 6 comprises two side rails 320, each side rail 320 extending in a second length direction, L 2 , perpendicular to the first length direction, L 1 , and coinciding with the plane, P. The side rail 320 has been made transparent to facilitate and enhance understanding. The side rails 320 may for example be made of a material comprising metal, such as aluminium or steel. For the sake of brevity and clarity, (only) one side rail 320 is visible in Fig. 6. The omitted side rail 320 is arranged opposite to the visible side rail 320 relative the window screen 110. Worth noticing is that when the window screen arrangement 300 is installed to a window relative e.g., a facade of a building, the roller tube 310 and the side rails 320 are typically not visible from inside of the window, as they would be covered by said facade. It should also be noted that the window screen arrangement 300 may be installed in combination with for example a wall-mounted window as well as with a skylight, i.e., a window mounted in a ceiling.
[0056] As perceived in Fig. 6 through the transparent side rail 320, the at least one batten arrangement 100 has two opposite batten end edges 330 along the first length direction, L 1 , wherein each batten end edge 330 of the at least one batten arrangement 100 is arranged to be guided in a respective side rail 320 of the two side rails 320. Hence, at least a portion of a respective end portion of the batten arrangement(s) 100 may be arranged to be guided in a respective side rail 320.
[0057] More specifically, the male locking member 140 has two opposite end edges 150 along the first length direction, L 1 . The batten arrangement 100 comprises two sliding members 160, each sliding member 160 arranged at a respective end edge 150 of the two end edges 150 of the male locking member 140. Each sliding member 160 of the two sliding members 160 is arranged to be guided in a respective side rail 320 of the two side rails 320. For the sake of brevity and clarity, (only) one sliding member 160 is visible in Fig. 6. According to Fig. 6, the sliding member 160 encloses an end edge 150 of the male locking member 140. It should be noted that the end edges 150 of the male locking member 140 may be the same as the batten end edges 330 of the at least one batten arrangement 100.
[0058] The two sliding members 160 have a concave cross section along the first length direction, L 1 . According to an example, at least one of the batten arrangement(s) 100 and the two sliding members 160 has a cross section along the first length direction, L 1 , corresponding to a cross section along the first length direction, L 1 , of the roller tube 310. In other words, the (concave) cross section of the batten arrangement(s) 100 and / or the two sliding members 160 may be the same as that of the (concave) cross section of the roller tube 310, relative the first length direction, L 1 . For example, the batten arrangement(s) 100 and / or the two sliding members 160 may have the same curvature of their concave cross section, a corresponding degree of curvature / concavity, or the like, as the cross section of the roller tube 310. This allows for the batten arrangement(s) 100 and / or the sliding members 160 to be rolled around the roller tube 310 in a close-fitting and efficient way, at least in terms of space and wear on relevant portions of the window screen arrangement 300.
[0059] The window screen arrangement 300 further comprises an end boom 340 arranged along a first edge 350 of the window screen 110, in the first length direction, L 1 , wherein the roller tube 310 is connected to the window screen 110 along a second edge 360 of the window screen 110. The first edge 350 of the window screen 110 is opposite the second edge 360 of the window screen 110. The end boom 340 may for example be made of a material comprising metal, such as aluminium or steel. The end boom 340 provides additional structural integrity to the window screen arrangement 300 and especially to the window screen 110. Typically, the end boom 340 is arranged to not be rolled around the roller tube 310. Furthermore, the end boom 340 is arranged to be guided in the two side rails 320. More specifically, at least a portion of a respective end portion of the end boom 340 may be arranged to be guided in a respective side rail 320. This provides further structural integrity to the window screen arrangement 300, and especially to the window screen 110.
[0060] As depicted in Fig. 6, the side rails 320 may comprise different chambers, cavities, spaces, etc. The side rail 320 of Fig. 6 comprises two different chambers, each extending along the second length direction, L 2 . It should be noted that other designs of the side rails 320 is of course plausible. The sliding members 160 may be arranged in a first chamber of the side rails 320, depicted as the left-sided chamber in Fig. 6. Furthermore, the end boom 340 may be arranged in a second chamber of the side rails 320, depicted as the right-sided chamber in Fig. 6. In addition, the side rails 320 may comprise an abutment extending along the second length direction, L 2 , arranged to separate the first chamber and the second chamber of the side rails 320.
[0061] According to an example, the window screen arrangement 300 comprises two side rail supports 370. Such side rail support, brace, bracket, or the like is shown in Fig. 6, in connection to the side rails 320. Each of the side rails 320 may be connected, joined, coupled, etc., to a respective side rail support 370. For example, the side rails 320 are connected to a respective side rail support 370 by fastening means such as screws. The side rails 320 may be arranged to the side rail supports 370 such that a distance is created between a window and the window screen 110, as depicted in Fig. 6. Said distance between the window and the window screen 110 provides a space defined by the window, the window screen 110, and the side rails 320. Air collected in such space may more easily be heated by for example incident sunlight, especially during internal assembly of the window screen arrangement 300. Said heated air may then be recycled for the purpose of regulating a temperature of e.g., a room within a building wherein the window screen arrangement 300 is installed. According to an example, each side rail 320 and a corresponding side rail support 370 forms a uniform unit. Hence, according to said example, there may be no need to fasten a side rail 320 to a corresponding side rail support 370 as the side rail 320 and the side rail support 370 constitute a unit, entity, component, structure, or the like which is cohesive, unified, homogeneous, or the like.
[0062] The person skilled in the art realizes that the present invention by no means is limited to the preferred embodiments described above. On the contrary, many modifications and variations are possible within the scope of the appended claims. For example, the window screen 110, the elongated batten member 120, the female recess 130, the elongated male locking member 140, the two sliding members 160, etc., may have different shapes, dimensions and / or sizes than those depicted / described.
