Abstract
Description
[0001] Description
[0002] Device for sealing a door portal of a
[0003] Rail vehicle
[0004] Technical area
[0005] The invention relates to a device for sealing a door portal of a rail vehicle.
[0006] State of the art
[0007] Modern passenger rail vehicles are manufactured according to the principles of lightweight construction, with the use of materials being optimized for the structure of the car body. In this way, weight can be reduced which, over the service life of the vehicle, results in a significant reduction in energy requirements during ferry operation due to the lower mass to be accelerated. If a car body is designed as a lightweight structure, its strength corresponds to the required strength over the intended service life; however, such a car body is usually more flexible than a conventional one. As a result, it is subject to greater deformation under load, which must be taken into account when designing and installing add-on parts. This deformation can have a detrimental effect, particularly at the interface between a door opening in a car body and the door system. The deformation is particularly great at a door opening and depends on the loading of the car body as well as on dynamic forces on the car body caused by ferry operation. Specifically optimized door systems can absorb some of this deformation, but gaps must be provided between the car body and the door system, which are usually filled with a sealing material. Due to the expected deformation of the car body, these gaps have to be dimensioned wide, so it is not practical to fill these gaps with sealing material because this would require a disproportionately large amount of sealing material. In addition to the high material expenditure, the curing time for such a seal is also disadvantageous. Taking sustainability into account, it also seems sensible to investigate alternative variants.A solution is therefore sought as to how a gap between a car body, generally a door pillar and a door system (door unit) can be closed without having to introduce sealing compound into this gap.
[0008] Description of the invention
[0009] The invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a device for sealing a door portal of a rail vehicle, which device is also capable of sealing wide and, in addition, different gaps between a door pillar and a door unit, without having to accept the disadvantages of the prior art, in particular the introduction of large quantities of sealing compound.
[0010] The object is achieved by a device for sealing a door portal of a rail vehicle with the features of claim 1. Advantageous embodiments are the subject of subordinate claims. According to the basic idea of the invention, a device for sealing a door portal of a rail vehicle is described, wherein the rail vehicle comprises door pillars and a door unit, wherein a sealing device is arranged between at least one door pillar and at least one door unit, wherein the sealing device has a door pillar-side receptacle, a door unit-side receptacle and a flexible seal arranged between the door pillar-side receptacle and the door unit-side receptacle, and wherein the door pillar-side receptacle is provided for detachable connection to a door pillar and the door unit-side receptacle is provided for detachable fastening to a door unit.
[0011] This provides the advantage of being able to seal the gap between a door pillar and a door unit, providing secure sealing against the ingress of , and allowing the door unit to be installed quickly, as there is no need to wait for the sealing compound to harden.
[0012] A further advantage of the invention is that the work steps involved in repairing a door unit are much simpler and can be carried out more quickly, since only removable fastening elements need to be undone to remove the door unit, and the removal of the sealing compound and the cleaning of the sealing compound mounting surfaces required for conventionally sealed door units are no longer necessary.
[0013] According to the invention, the device for sealing a door portal is to be designed such that door units are detachably arranged in a rail vehicle which has door areas delimited by vertical door pillars. These door units typically comprise door leaves, door drives, associated control devices, door guides, etc. and are fastened as a prefabricated unit to a car body of a rail vehicle. A gap is to be provided between the door pillars and components of the door unit in order to be able to compensate for the unavoidable manufacturing tolerances of the car body of the rail vehicle, on the one hand, and to ensure mobility between the car body of the rail vehicle and the door unit, on the other hand. This is necessary because the deformation of the rail vehicle during ferry operation and as a result of the load must not impair the function of the doors. It is necessary that the movement of the door leaves can take place independently of the current loading condition of the vehicle, i.e. no constraining forces are transmitted to the door unit, which could, for example, deform the door guides.
[0014] Therefore, it is provided to arrange a sealing device between at least one door pillar and at least one door unit. This sealing device comprises a door pillar-side receptacle, a door unit-side receptacle, and a flexible seal arranged between the door pillar-side receptacle and the door unit-side receptacle.
[0015] The door pillar-side mount and the door unit-side mount are preferably constructed from metal, particularly preferably from a light metal profile. The door pillar-side mount is designed for detachable connection to a door pillar, and the door unit-side mount is designed for detachable attachment to a door unit.
[0016] In this way, a simple installation of the sealing device between a door pillar and a door unit can be ensured, since only the connection by means of detachable fastening means is required and any handling of sealing compounds is eliminated.
[0017] The flexible seal to be arranged between the door pillar-side mount and the door unit-side mount can be made of a simple, flat sealing material, for example, made of EPDM rubber or silicone, which can be attached to suitable recesses or grooves in the door pillar-side mount and the door unit-side mount. It is recommended that this attachment of the flexible seal be permanent, for example, by means of an adhesive bond.
[0018] The sealing device thus forms an assembly comprising three components and as such can be easily inserted into the gap between a door pillar and a door unit.
[0019] A further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides for the flexible seal to be designed as a hollow-chamber profile. Such a hollow-chamber profile can also be made of EPDM rubber or silicone, but offers significantly better sound insulation than a single-layer flexible seal. The fastening points for the hollow-chamber profile on the door pillar-side mount and the door unit-side mount must be designed accordingly.

[0026] Implementation of the invention
[0027] Fig. 1 shows an example and schematically a door portal of a rail vehicle with a sealing device. It shows a highly abstract horizontal section through a car body of a rail vehicle in the area of a door pillar 2. The door pillar 2 is designed as a hollow profile with a rectangular cross-section, as is common in rail vehicles, particularly those of integral construction. An outer wall 8 adjoins the door pillar 2. In the area of the door portal, i.e. between two door pillars 2, a door unit 3 is arranged, which is typically fastened to the car body above this door portal and which carries all the essential components of a rail vehicle door, such as the door drive, door leaves, door leaf guides, etc. Only a door leaf 9 and a vertical limiting part of the door unit 3 are shown in Fig. 1.The function of the sealing device 1 is to prevent the ingress of water and outside air through the gap between the door pillar 2 and the door unit 3. In this position, a sealing device 1 is arranged, which extends substantially over the entire height of the door unit 3 and which is attached to both the door pillar 2 and the door unit 3.
[0028] Fig. 2 shows, by way of example and schematically, a sectional view through a sealing device. The sealing device 1 from Fig. 1 is shown in more detail. The sealing device 1 comprises a receptacle 4 on the door pillar side, a receptacle 5 on the door unit side and a flexible seal 6, which is arranged between the receptacles 4, 5 and connected to them. The receptacle 4 on the door pillar side and the receptacle 5 on the door unit side are preferably made of metal, in particular light metal, and are designed to be connected to the flexible seal 6. For this purpose, for example, formations can be provided which simplify gluing the flexible seal 6 to the receptacles 4, 5.In the exemplary embodiment shown, the flexible seal 6 extends in an arc shape between the door pillar-side receptacle 4 and the door unit-side receptacle 5, since in this way a large area of these gaps, which can also have different gap widths, can be bridged between the door pillar 2 and the door unit 3. If the width of the gap does not require the entire length of the flexible seal 6, the latter extends in an arc shape in the gap. This is particularly advantageous if the width of the gap is not constant over the extent of the door pillar 2. Such a variable gap can be reliably closed with the sealing device 1 shown. Fig. 3 shows an example and schematically a door portal of a rail vehicle with a sealing device with a hollow profile. The door portal from Fig. 1 is shown, although the flexible seal 6 of the sealing device 1 is designed differently.A hollow profile 7 is arranged between the door pillar side holder 4 and the door unit side holder 5, which is connected to the door pillar side holder 4 and the door unit side holder 5.
[0029] Fig. 4 shows an example and schematically a sealing device with a hollow profile. The sealing device 1 from Fig. 3 is shown in more detail. The hollow profile 7 which ensures the sealing function is made of a flexible material such as EPDM rubber or silicone and has, for example, three hollow chambers. The number, shape and size of the hollow chambers determine the force-displacement characteristics of the hollow profile 7 as well as its heat conduction and sound transmission properties. The embodiment shown in Fig. 3 with a hollow profile 7 offers, in addition to being watertight, particularly good sound insulation properties, although it is not so suitable for variable gaps.
[0030] Fig. 5 shows, by way of example and schematically, a door portal of a rail vehicle with a sealing device. A detailed oblique view of a door portal of a rail vehicle is shown. A sealing device 1, which is constructed as shown in Fig. 2, is arranged between the door pillar 2 and the door unit 3. The door unit 3 comprises a plurality of components, in particular a door leaf 9 and various fastening means, door edge seals, etc. The sealing device 1 is constructed in three parts, as in the exemplary embodiment shown in Figs. 1 and 2, from a door pillar-side receptacle 4, a door unit-side receptacle 5 and a flexible seal 6 arranged between them. The door pillar-side receptacle 4 and the door unit-side receptacle 5 each have a pocket-shaped formation into which the flexible seal 6 is introduced and fastened.Such a pocket-shaped formation ensures a sufficient contact surface, in particular for an adhesive connection with the flexible seal. A fastening device 10 of the door unit 3 is designed as a threaded bolt, so that the relative position of the door unit 3 with respect to the car body of the rail vehicle can be adjusted, and the mobility in the flexible seal 6 ensures that the gap between the door pillar 2 and the door unit 3 is completely closed for any permissible relative position of the door unit 3 with respect to the car body. The door pillar-side holder 4 and the door unit-side holder 5 are preferably designed as a light metal profile in the form shown.
