[0001] The invention relates to a toilet system which, through the interaction of several inventive functional systems, enables a significant reduction in water consumption and makes toilet paper unnecessary, equipped with a multifunctional seat ring for a water closet, which is pivotable, preferably connectable to the closet body, and usable in both private and public toilet arrangements.
[0002] Most modern toilets are flushed with drinking water. Only a few facilities have a separate greywater system used for toilet flushing. The increasing scarcity of this precious resource is forcing us as a society to conserve water. This is especially true regarding the waste of drinking water in toilet flushing.
[0003] The drinking water situation cannot be viewed solely from the perspective of fresh water. There is an equally important dimension to consider: wastewater. After all, in wastewater treatment plants, over 99% of the wastewater is mechanically and biologically purified using bacterial cultures before being discharged back into rivers and thus reintroduced into the drinking water cycle. However, this purification process leaves behind chemical substances such as the persistent PFAS (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) in the treated water, rendering it unsuitable for long-term drinking water use.
[0004] Scientists have discovered an unexpected source for the entry of these chemicals into wastewater systems: toilet paper. Toilet paper is contaminated by 6:2 di PAP during the production process of converting wood into paper. France currently has the most extensive research into PFAS contamination. A full 89% of PFAS contamination in French wastewater is caused by di PAPs from toilet paper. This problem is expected to occur worldwide.
