Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The invention relates to a sanitary device in the form of a toilet, comprising a main body having a toilet area which is open upwards, a water tank which is arranged in an upper edge region of the toilet area and which, when viewed horizontally, projects into the toilet area, wherein at least one flushing opening directed downwards into the toilet area is provided at a side of the water tank and at least one connection part for connecting a flushing water feed for supplying flushing water into the water tank is provided in a rear region of the main body, the flushing water flowing from the water tank into the toilet area through the at least one flushing opening at the side of the water tank. BACKGROUND
[0002] Known toilets, whether wall-hung or floor-standing, usually have a so-called rim, which is formed by a water tank which extends around the entire area of the upper toilet rim, water being introduced into the water tank by means of a flushing water feed connected thereto. The water is distributed in the annular water tank, i.e. the rim, from which it can usually be discharged through a plurality of flushing openings directed downwards in the toilet area. The water thus flows vertically downwards from the underside of the circulating flushing water tank and along the toilet surface to the water outlets. The vertical component of the flow direction of the flushing water can effectively immerse the objects to be flushed away.
[0003] In order to flood the annular flushing water tank and the relatively large water tank, respectively, as quickly as possible with flushing water, in modern toilets a connection part for connecting a pump is provided, by means of which, in contrast to so-called gravity-only flushing, in which water flows out of the water tank or reservoir without the aid of a pump, flushing water is delivered to the water tank at significantly greater pressure.
[0004] However, such conventional toilets with a rim have the disadvantage that, because of their suspended shape, which points almost horizontally into the interior of the toilet, it is difficult to access the underside of the rim and the toilet surface directly below the rim in order to clean it.
[0005] In order to solve this problem, toilets are known which are not equipped with a conventional annular rim, often also referred to as "frameless toilets". Such toilets are operated with an effectively rotating, swirling flushing water flow, often referred to as tornado flushing. The water is supplied to the toilet surface horizontally and substantially tangentially through at least one water outlet. Although in this case no rim is provided any more which is associated with the cleaning problem, since the water flow is introduced into the toilet area substantially horizontally, it is not sufficient to effectively discharge the objects to be flushed away, because the horizontal flushing direction lacks a sufficient motion component flowing downwards. This leads either to incomplete flushing or to the need for more water for flushing.
[0006] The present invention is therefore based on the problem of specifying an improved sanitary device in the form of a toilet which not only allows a reliable flushing, but also is easy to clean. SUMMARY
[0007] According to the invention, in order to solve the problem of the type of sanitary device mentioned in the preamble, the water tank extends only in the rear edge region and a second and a third flushing opening are also provided, each of which allows the tangential introduction of flushing water into the toilet area, wherein the third flushing opening is closer to the front side of the main body than the second flushing opening.
[0008] Thus, in the toilet according to the invention, there is both the known flushing water from the front flushing edge, which has a vertical flow component, and the known horizontal flushing for the tornado flushing, which is tangential to the toilet surface, in the tornado flushing. In order to make this possible, the water tank extends only in the rear edge region of the toilet, viewed from the front of the toilet, wherein the front and rear regions of the toilet are generally circular, while the side faces are straight or curved. Thus, the water tank extends only in the rear circular region and not along the side faces and the front region. The water tank has at least one first flushing opening, wherein, of course, a plurality of such individual openings can be provided in a manner distributed along the length of the water tank. This region is located relatively close to the water outflow of the toilet, viewed from the side. The flushing water flows vertically downwards through the first flushing opening or openings and, after a short flow path, enters the outflow region, where the water reaches the wall-side outflow pipe through a bend. The flushing water supplied through the first flushing opening has a vertical water flow component associated with a relatively high inflow speed, since, as mentioned above, the flow path is very short. This vertical water flow component is important for quickly submerging the object to be flushed and for the thus rapid flushing downwards.
[0009] However, since the water tank is located only in the rear region of the toilet, the remaining toilet edge region can be in the form of a tankless, i.e. frameless, toilet, so that this region can be cleaned very well. In order to flush this region, in addition to the at least one first flushing opening, a double tornado flushing is provided, which is implemented by means of a second and a third flushing opening. Both flushing openings allow the tangential introduction of water into the toilet area. Both flushing openings can likewise be supplied by means of the water tank, which accordingly supplies the first, second and third flushing openings. Alternatively, the two flushing openings can also be provided with a separate water supply, i.e. the water tank is supplied by means of one flushing water supply pipe and the two flushing openings are supplied by means of another flushing water supply pipe, for example by means of a split duct provided in the central water supply pipe.
[0010] According to the invention, the second and third flush openings, as seen in circumferential direction around the toilet area, are now offset relative to each other. The second flush opening is closer to the rear area of the toilet or main body, while the third flush opening is closer to the front area or front side of the toilet or main body. This makes it possible to introduce the toilet flushing water tangentially in two different positions, thereby ensuring that the tangentially introduced toilet flushing water, which also naturally has a tendency to flow downward after the introduction, still very extensively flushes and cleans the top side of the toilet area due to the tangential movement component. This effective double tornado flushing starting in two offset positions allows the toilet side and front area to be flushed very effectively and provides the additional required water quantity, together with the toilet flushing water quantity, to flush away the objects to be flushed away, which are supplied by the one or more first flush openings and provide the required vertical component.
[0011] Thus, due to the advantageous combination of the two different flushing techniques with each other and the appropriate coordination of the individual areas in which the different flushing techniques are applied with each other, the toilet according to the invention has a very effective flushing effect. This is because the "conventional" tank flushing flowing downward is only provided in the rear area very close to the drain and only cleans this rear toilet area. In contrast, the side toilet area and the front toilet area are cleaned by the double tornado flushing, which introduces the toilet area in two offset positions. Furthermore, due to the other configuration of the upper toilet rim being rimless, i.e. without an inwardly protruding rim, a very good cleanliness is provided.
[0012] In the case of a simple gravity flushing, the toilet according to the invention in particular provides the possibility of achieving a very good cleaning effect by combining the flow technique. In the case of such a gravity flushing, the water is supplied from a tank or reservoir, from which the water flows through the bottom. In other words, the water pressure formed by the water column in the tank or reservoir determines the flushing pressure. No toilet flushing water supply device comprising a pump is used, by means of which the toilet flushing water pressure can be set at a suitably high level. Due to the realization of the two second and third flush openings being axially offset in the direction of the longitudinal center plane of the main body, in the case of such a gravity flushing, a relatively low water pressure still ensures that a complete flushing in all side and front areas by tornado flushing is possible. This is because the introduction of the toilet flushing water in two different positions can ensure that the toilet flushing water even reaches more distant areas, as indicated by the direction of introduction, and can be cleaned there as well. In other words, in the case of the toilet according to the invention, despite the lower water pressure and thus the lower flushing pressure due to the pumpless gravity flushing, it is still possible to carry out tornado flushing in which the water flowing out flushes the entire toilet surface.
[0013] Preferably, the second and third flushing openings are supplied with toilet flushing water from the water tank. With this configuration according to the application, the first flushing opening and the second and third flushing openings are jointly supplied with water from the water tank, so that only the central toilet flushing water connection to the water tank needs to be provided. Alternatively, however, it is also possible to supply both flushing openings with separate water inlets, i.e. the water tank is supplied with water via one toilet flushing water inlet, while the two flushing openings are supplied with water via another toilet flushing water inlet. This can be achieved, for example, by means of a Y-pipe branch which is connected to the central toilet flushing water inlet and which is connected at one end to the water tank and at the other end to a connection portion via which the second and third flushing openings are provided. The water tank with the first flushing opening and the main body portion with the connection portion and the second and third flushing openings are then separated.
[0014] In a refinement of the application, the second and third flushing openings are introduced into a common water guide portion which extends at least partially around the toilet area, opens laterally towards the toilet area and is formed on the main body. This water guide portion can have a sharp-edged or rounded cross section for guiding the toilet flushing water portion supplied for the tornado flushing around at a higher level in the introduction direction and in this way effectively conveying it to more distant regions. The water guide portion can be formed, for example, by means of a horizontally projecting shoulder which provides a water flow surface along which the water flows. Of course, after the outflow, it is necessary for a certain amount of toilet flushing water to flow downwards, even though it is guided in the water guide portion, in order to flush the region directly adjacent to the flushing openings. However, by means of the water guide portion, it is ensured that a sufficient amount of water is still conveyed forwards at a relatively high toilet level and can clean more distant regions. Since the second and third flushing openings open into the common water guide portion, it is also necessary to form only one such water channel.
[0015] The water guide portion extends at least 180° to the opposite side of the toilet area, but can also extend, starting from one side of the water tank, to the other side of the water tank or even below the water tank. This makes it possible to keep a certain amount of toilet flushing water at a sufficient height for a longer period of time and to guide it in rotation, even though, as mentioned above, the toilet flushing water constantly flows downwards along the entire length of the water channel.
[0016] As mentioned, it is also preferable to supply the second and third flushing openings with toilet flushing water from the water tank. For this purpose, a second flushing opening can be provided in addition to the first flushing opening on the side of the water tank, but, unlike the first flushing opening which is oriented vertically downwards, the second flushing opening is almost turned through 90° so as to open horizontally to the front.
[0017] In order to provide water to a third flushing opening which is located further away, according to the application a water channel is provided which communicates with the water tank, wherein the water channel leads out at the third flushing opening. The water channel can have a circular or angular cross section which extends substantially tangentially to the contour of the toilet, so that there is no abrupt deflection, since it must adjoin one end of the water tank and from there follow the geometry of the toilet. By means of this effectively closed water channel, the toilet flushing water from the water tank can be easily guided relatively far to a far removed third flushing opening with hardly any pressure loss, so that when the second and third flushing openings are properly coordinated in position, an optimum cleaning result is achieved. The water which flows out through the second flushing opening can clean one associated toilet area, while the toilet flushing water which flows out from the third flushing opening mainly cleans the adjacent other toilet area.
[0018] In addition to the water supply opening at the side of the water tank and the flushing opening at the end side, the water channel is substantially closed on each side. Alternatively, it is also possible to provide only the water channel, which is closed on its top side by a cover, but which is partly open towards the interior of the toilet. Preferably, the cover which engages on the water channel or such a wall can be achieved by means of a toilet rim which extends inwards, wherein this inwards extending toilet rim can also limit the water guide portion on its top side, so that splashing is prevented by means of the protruding portion which is formed in this way and engages on the water guide portion.
[0019] With regard to the arrangement of the water channel with respect to the third flushing opening, various configurations are conceivable. According to a first inventive alternative, the water channel can extend laterally in the vicinity of the water guide portion and further outwards compared to the water guide portion. Thus, the two portions extend parallel to each other and in a radially offset manner with respect to each other, wherein the water guide portion which is open towards the toilet is of course located further inwards. Alternatively, the water channel can extend above or below the water guide portion. Here, too, the two water channels must extend parallel, but at different heights.
[0020] According to an advantageous extension, the cross section of the water channel can be at least partly tapered towards the third flushing opening. Due to the tapering of the cross section of the water channel, a nozzle effect is achieved, which means that the dynamic pressure rises towards the third flushing opening, so that the toilet flushing water flows out there at a higher pressure. This higher pressure in turn is advantageous for guiding the toilet flushing water as far as possible around.
[0021] In an advantageous extension, the wall which delimits the water channel simultaneously forms a boundary for the water guide portion. Depending on the arrangement of the two water channels with respect to each other, this wall can be a side boundary wall of the water channel when the two water channels are located horizontally next to each other, or this wall can be an upper or lower boundary wall of the water channel when one water channel is arranged above the other water channel.
[0022] In order to arrange the two siphons as closely together as possible and to keep the overall structure as compact as possible, it is advantageous to arrange the second flush opening next to the water outlet of the water tank adjacent to the siphon. In other words, two openings are arranged next to each other in the water tank, in particular a second flush opening and a water outlet are arranged in the water tank, for example the second flush opening radially further inwards and the water outlet radially further outwards, which directly leads to the siphon.
[0023] According to an extension of the inventive concept, a fourth flush opening can also be provided, which is located downstream of the third flush opening, as can be seen from the direction of the water supplied to the third flush opening, and which is supplied with flush water from the siphon or a separate siphon opening at the water tank. According to this configuration according to the invention, the tornado flush is supplemented by another flush opening, which is arranged in a more offset manner with respect to the second flush opening. The fourth flush opening can be supplied with flush water by the same siphon as the third flush opening, but it is also conceivable to lead a separate siphon, which is also in communication with the water tank, to the fourth flush opening. The siphon can optionally also extend on the other toilet side, which means that flush water from the fourth flush opening is supplied in the opposite direction to the flush water from the second and third flush openings.
[0024] As mentioned above, in the sanitary device, a gravity flush is provided, which does not require a pump support and which does not require an additional jet flush. In order to allow a simple connection to such a water tank or reservoir, the connection portion is advantageously arranged centrally with respect to the vertical longitudinal center plane of the main body, wherein the water tank extends on one or both sides of the longitudinal center plane. Preferably, the water tank extends on both sides of the longitudinal center plane, of course, in order to flush the rear area of the toilet as extensively as possible by the conventional vertical flush performed thereby.
[0025] The second flush opening and the siphon are advantageously arranged on one side of the centrally arranged water tank. As mentioned above, the water guide portion can be defined on its top side by a protruding portion, which preferably extends substantially horizontally and towards the interior of the toilet area, and on its bottom side by a shoulder of the toilet side. In this way, the water guide portion is defined. It is configured in such a way that it is recessed in the toilet surface, as seen in horizontal direction. In this case, the protruding portion can be formed by an edge of the toilet area itself, which extends towards the interior of the toilet area. If the siphon is arranged laterally parallel to the water guide portion, this edge, which extends towards the interior of the toilet area, can also simultaneously form a cover for the siphon. In other words, the toilet edge not only covers the siphon, but also defines the water guide portion, or respectively the top side of the water guide portion, in order to prevent splashing.
[0026] In extended designs, the depth of the water guide section may gradually decrease towards the end. In other words, the shoulder or edge that defines the downward slope gradually narrows, while at the top, the protrusion remains unchanged for symmetry or aesthetic reasons. Overall, this provides a narrower shoulder or shorter edge, allowing less dirt to accumulate in the area, but making it easy to remove due to its easy accessibility.
[0027] While it is possible to have only one first flush nozzle, such as a narrow, elongated arc-shaped opening in the form of a slot or similar design, it is advantageous to have multiple first flush nozzles, preferably arranged in a row of arcs. These first flush nozzles, for example in the form of circular perforations, are distributed across the entire width of the tank to wet the toilet surface over the largest possible area.
[0028] The second, third, and optional fourth flush outlets can also be circular openings, but they can also be in the form of grooves or other shapes. Attached Figure Description

[0034] Figure 5 It shows the corresponding Figure 1 A diagram used to explain the flow of water when flushing a toilet. Detailed Implementation
[0035] Figure 1 and Figure 2 With horizontal cross section ( Figure 1 ) and vertical section ( Figure 2 This illustrates a sanitary device 1 in the form of a toilet according to the present invention. The sanitary device 1 includes a main body 2 with a toilet area 3, the toilet area 3 including a rear area 4, a front area 5, and opposing side areas 6 and 7. The toilet area 3 extends from a drain outlet 8 on the lower side, which (see...) Figure 3) in the waste pipe 9, to which the sewer pipe can be connected. The toilet itself can be floor-standing, or here embodied as a wall-hung toilet.
[0036] A water tank 10 is provided, which has a rear connecting portion 11 with a water inlet 12 through which flushing water can flow, which flushing water is supplied by a flushing water inlet pipe which is to be connected to the connecting portion 11, into which flushing water can flow into the water tank 10. The flushing water supply pipe comes from a water tank or cistern which is mounted above the toilet in a manner known per se, usually behind a wall.
[0037] The water tank extends only in the rear region 4 of the toilet region 3 and to some extent projects (see Figure 2 ) into the toilet region 3. In the region of this projection, a plurality of first flushing openings 13 are provided in the exemplary embodiment shown, which (see Figure 2 ) open vertically downwards, so that flushing water located in the water tank 10 can flow vertically downwards into the region 4 and clean it.
[0038] The water tank 10 is arranged centrally with respect to a longitudinal centre plane 14, so that a central water supply connection is formed via the water inlet 12. In a top view according to Figure 1 , the water tank 10 is seen from the front to extend to the left. It is conceivable that the water tank 10 can also extend slightly to the opposite side, as indicated by the dashed line 25, and that a further first flushing opening 13 can be provided in this region.
[0039] A second flushing opening 15 is provided in the left end region of the water tank, which is almost vertical and opens towards the front. It allows a tornado flushing, since the water flowing out of the water tank 10 through the second flushing opening 15 is introduced into the toilet region 3 horizontally and tangentially. From here, the flushing water flows into a water guide portion 16, which (see also Figure 2), which extends around the circumference of the toilet area 3 in the upper region of the toilet rim 17 starting from the end of the tank and up to the opposite end of the tank 10 or also below the tank 10. The water guide portion 16 is formed by a horizontally protruding shoulder, which provides a water flow surface along which the water flows. Above the top side of the water guide portion 16, an inwardly extending protruding rim 17 is joined, which defines the water guide portion 16 upwardly and serves as a splash guard. Downwardly, the water guide portion 16 is defined by a likewise circularly extending protruding shoulder 18. While in the exemplary embodiment shown, the water guide portion 16 extends along the entire direction, it is also possible to configure the water guide portion 16 to extend less far peripherally, so that the shoulder 18 narrows toward the tank end and tapers in the surface of the toilet. Since the water guide portion 16 extends close to the edge of the upper toilet rim, it serves to guide the water flowing into the water guide portion 16 at a suitable height for as long a time as possible. Under the flushing pressure defined by the water column in the tank or cistern, the water flows out of the second flush opening 15. While a portion has already flowed down into the toilet area 3 or into the side area 6 after flushing, a large portion continues to be transported in the circumferential direction, of course, wherein the water flows downwardly constantly during the entire transport. In any case, however, the water flow surface formed by the shoulder 18 makes it possible to guide the toilet flushing water as far peripherally as possible in the circumferential direction, so that a relatively large area of the toilet area 3 can be flushed by the water flowing out of the second flush opening 15.
[0040] As Figure 1 is shown, a water outlet 19 is provided next to the second flush opening 15 and further away from the second flush opening 15 on the side, which opens into a tank 20. The tank 20 extends parallel to the water guide portion 16 and is separated from the tank 20 by a partition wall 21, which delimits the water guide portion 16. The tank 20 is likewise joined by the toilet rim 17, which forms an upper tank cover. The partition wall 21 can adjoin the protruding rim 17, so that the tank 20 is closed on each side, but it can also be spaced apart from the tank 20. In any case, however, the toilet rim 17 also extends somewhat further and joins on the portion of the water guide portion 16 close to the tank 20.
[0041] The water channel 20 leads out at a third flush opening 22, which is clearly offset from the second flush opening 15, as seen in the circumferential or water inlet direction of the flush water. While the second flush opening 15 is located at the transition from the rear region 4 to the lateral region 6, the third flush opening 22 is already located in the front region 5. Since the third flush opening 22 is in communication with the water tank 10 via the water channel 20 and the outlet 19, flush water is likewise present in the water channel 20 and, as a result, the third flush opening, under the respective pressure defined by the water level in the water tank or cistern, washes the toilet surface there likewise horizontally and tangentially and is introduced into the water guide portion 16. In other words, both flush openings 15 and 22 introduce flush water into the water guide portion 16, which opens toward the toilet region 3, but is located at a position that is clearly spaced apart with respect to the longitudinal center plane 14.
[0042] The flush water supplied by the third flush opening 22 is guided by the water guide portion 16 over a long distance, of course, a specific portion of which flows continuously downward and cleans the toilet surface through the flushing path. However, by being guided peripherally, a large amount of water can also flow into the region 7 and further away and can flow away and clean there.
[0043] In other words, in the case of the toilet according to the application, the first flush opening 13 and the second and third flush openings 15, 22 are supplied with flush water by the flush water inflow via the connection opening 12 and the common water tank 10. The flushing is therefore carried out in combination with different flushing techniques, in particular a conventional flushing with the flush opening 13 directed downward and a tornado flushing via the flush openings 15 and 22, although these flushings are initiated at different points. As described above, this is a kind of gravity flushing, in which the flush water can only be supplied by the water tank or cistern at a relatively low pressure. Since the tornado flushing is initiated via the second and third flush openings 15, 22 at two clearly offset positions that are virtually visible in the axial or longitudinal direction of the toilet region 3, it can be ensured that, despite the low water pressure, the flush water will flush out the entire toilet region 3, in particular the region 7, which is located farthest away from the second and third flush openings 15 and 22. This flushing in combination with different flushing techniques ensures that the flush water not only flows out with a sufficiently strong vertical component, which is produced by the amount of flush water flowing out via the first flush opening 13, in order to clean the rear region 4, but also floods the object to be flushed away. In addition, a powerful and extensive flushing in the toilet region 3 is ensured by the tornado flushing, which is carried out twice, and, at the same time, in this way, the amount of water required for the completion of the flushing of the object can also be supplied.
[0044] Figure 3 and Figure 4 Two perspective views of the sanitary device 1 or toilet are shown, the body 2 being shown in a top view ( Figure 3 ) and in a side view ( Figure 4 ). Figure 3The second flush opening and the portion of the water guide portion 16 adjoining it are shown, which can also be seen from the opposite side. It can be seen that the water guide portion 16 is joined by the inwardly extending toilet rim 17.
[0045] By way of comparison, the water guide portion 16 is also shown Figure 4 A third flush opening 22 is shown, which is also led out of the water guide portion 16. The two flush openings 15, 22 are shown as elongate, slit-like flush openings. By way of the opening geometry, an increase in certain dynamic pressure can be achieved, and also the cross section of the water channel 20 can be slightly narrowed towards the front end with the third flush opening 22.
[0046] Figure 5 The sanitary device 1 or toilet is shown during a flushing operation. The toilet tank 10 is filled with flushing water 23, which flows in via a flushing water inlet (here only indicated by a dashed line). The flushing water flows from the first flush opening 13 along the rear region 4 vertically downwards to the drain 8, as indicated by the arrow PI.
[0047] At the same time, however, the flushing water flows tangentially from the second flush opening 15 into the water guide portion 16 and, under the guidance of the water guide portion 16, flows down into the toilet region 3, as indicated by the arrow P2.
[0048] At the same time, the flushing water also flows via the water outlet 19 into the water channel 20, and also the flushing water flows from the third flush opening 22 into the water guide portion 16 and along the water guide portion 16, as indicated by the arrow P3, down into the toilet region 3.
[0049] It can be seen that, as a result of this tornado flushing, the flushing water is successfully guided to all regions of the toilet that need to be cleaned, and flushing also takes place in the rear region 4 by means of the flushing water flowing downwards.
[0050] Of course, the position of the third flush opening 22 is variable; it can be arranged slightly closer to or further away from the second flush opening 15. It is also conceivable to provide a fourth flush opening, i.e. to open the water channel 20 in the region of the third flush opening 22, but it is also possible to continue to guide the water channel to a fourth flush opening, for example provided in the region 7, so that flushing water can also be output there additionally. Also, water can be guided to a fourth flush opening via a further water channel running from the other side of the toilet tank 10, wherein this flush opening would be opposite in direction to the flush openings 15 and 22.
[0051] Although, in the embodiment shown, the water guide portion 16 and the water channel 20 are arranged next to one another in the horizontal direction, it is also conceivable to place the water guide portion 16 below the water channel 20 or to place the water channel 20 below the water guide portion 16, which would result in a different arrangement of the second flush opening 15 and the water outlet 19.
