Description

Title of the invention: Method for activating a security protocol on a mobile terminal, computer program product and corresponding devices Field of invention

[0001] The field of the invention is that of the safety of isolated workers via the use of a mobile terminal.

[0002] The invention relates more particularly to a method for activating a security protocol comprising alert functions on such a mobile terminal.

[0003] The invention thus has numerous applications in all fields of intervention of isolated workers, in particular but not exclusively, for the maintenance of industrial systems such as distribution or telecommunications networks, renewable energy generation systems, waste management systems, etc. Prior art and its drawbacks

[0004] Legislation in many countries requires that people working in isolated worker situations be equipped with a solution that can trigger an alert in the event of an accident or illness. This is called an alert device. For more than ten years, these alert devices have taken the form of mobile applications running on mobile terminals, such applications offering various alert and geolocation functions. The isolated worker then activates the functions necessary for their safety during their intervention. The functions to be activated vary depending on the situation encountered.

[0005] For example:

[0006] - A technical installation may be “outside the terminal’s coverage network” mobile (e.g. outside the cellular network). This may be the case when the technical installation in question is located in the lower levels of a building;

[0007] - Geolocation can be fast and reliable by GPS outdoors but very imprecise in an urban environment and / or in a building;

[0008] - An on-call intervention at night will be limited to a quick and temporary repair unlike planned maintenance during normal working hours;

[0009] - Depending on their respective professions, two people from the same company can each working alone on the same site and at the same time, but with different levels of risk.

[0010] Thus, the activation of functions can vary according to multiple criteria. The choice of activating this or that alert function on your mobile terminal requires an analysis and reflection on the part of the isolated worker. This is especially true since the isolated worker generally has to use several alert functions for the same intervention. Furthermore, interaction with the mobile terminal interface often requires learning and a certain level of skill. Thus, in practice, existing solutions are only rarely activated by isolated workers and, at best, poorly activated.

[0011] There is thus a need for a technique for implementing such alert functions on a mobile terminal which is simple for the isolated worker using the terminal in question. Statement of the invention

[0012] In one embodiment of the invention, there is provided a method for activating, on a mobile terminal, a security protocol comprising at least one alert function comprising program code instructions configuring the mobile terminal so that at least one alert information is generated on the basis of a comparison between, on the one hand, a quantity based on at least one data item from a sensor, integrated or communicatively connected to the mobile terminal, or from an input means of the mobile terminal and, on the other hand, a predetermined activation threshold. According to such a method, the mobile terminal executes:

[0013] - obtaining a protocol identifier;

[0014] - an activation of the protocol from the identifier obtained.

[0015] Thus, the invention proposes a new and inventive solution for activating one or more alert functions on a mobile terminal.

[0016] To do this, it is proposed to activate a security protocol comprising the alert function(s) necessary e.g. for a given intervention of an isolated worker equipped with the mobile terminal and, when it is not integrated into the mobile terminal, the corresponding sensor(s). Thus, the isolated worker is relieved of the analysis and reflection necessary for determining the alert function (or alert functions) to be implemented during the intervention in question. More particularly, such reflection could have been made upstream of the intervention, during the design of the security protocol to be implemented for this particular intervention.

[0017] Furthermore, the implementation of the protocol is done simply by obtaining (e.g. an entry via a terminal entry means, with or without physical contact between the isolated worker using the mobile terminal and the mobile terminal as regards the entry itself (e.g. via a voice command or a scan as detailed below)) the corresponding identifier. The present solution is thus suitable for isolated workers with minimal training on the functionalities of the mobile terminal.

[0018] According to certain embodiments, the aforementioned quantity is representative of said at least one data item or of a variation, over a predetermined period of time, of said at least one data item.

[0019] According to certain embodiments, said at least one alert function belongs to the group comprising:

[0020] - a motion absence detection function in which at least one in alert formation is generated when a variation, over a predetermined period of time, of data representative of an acceleration from an accelerometer, integrated or communicatively connected to the mobile terminal, is lower than a predetermined low threshold;

[0021] - a terminal fall detection function in which at least one in alert formation is generated when a variation, over a predetermined period of time, of data representative of an acceleration from an accelerometer, integrated or communicatively connected to the mobile terminal, is greater than a predetermined high threshold;

[0022] - a loss of verticality detection function in which at least one in alert formation is generated when an estimated angle between, on the one hand, a predetermined orientation axis of the sensor and, on the other hand, a horizontal plane is less than a predetermined angular threshold, the angle coming from at least one accelerometer integrated or communicatively connected to the mobile terminal; and

[0023] - a time alert function in which at least one alert information is generated when a variation, over a predetermined period of time, of data from an input means of the mobile terminal is less than a predetermined activation threshold.

[0024] According to certain embodiments, the protocol comprises at least the time alert function. The mobile terminal executes a transmission, to a remote server to which the mobile terminal is connected via a radio communications network:

[0025] - of a position of the mobile terminal at the time of activation of the protocol; and

[0026] - the predetermined period of time.

[0027] Thus, the remote server can act as a mirror of the mobile terminal.

[0028] According to certain embodiments, obtaining comprises a scan, implementing at least one image sensor of the mobile terminal, of a QR code representative of the identifier.

[0029] According to certain embodiments, obtaining comprises capturing, using at least one microphone of the mobile terminal, an acoustic signal representative of the identifier.

[0030] Thus, the identification and activation of the protocol is done simply, the actual obtaining of the identifier not requiring physical contact between the tra isolated worker user of the mobile terminal and the terminal in question to enter the identifier.

[0031] According to certain embodiments, the mobile terminal executes a download, before activation and from the remote server to which the mobile terminal is connected via a radio communications network, of the protocol identified by the identifier obtained.

[0032] Thus, the security protocol can be updated dynamically and transparently for the isolated worker using the mobile terminal. This allows more flexibility and increases ease of use for the user.

[0033] According to certain embodiments, activation is implemented when at least one condition belonging to the following group is met:

[0034] - the protocol identifier is obtained when the mobile terminal is in an area predetermined geographic area;

[0035] - the protocol identifier is obtained at a time belonging to a window predetermined time;

[0036] - a user profile configured on the mobile terminal corresponds to a user profile expected reader associated with the protocol.

[0037] Thus, the security of the implementation of the correct security protocol actually corresponding to the planned intervention is reinforced.

[0038] According to certain embodiments, the mobile terminal performs a restitution, on a restitution means of the screen or speaker type of the mobile terminal, of at least one piece of prevention information associated with the protocol.

[0039] Thus, the security of the implementation of the correct security protocol actually corresponding to the planned intervention is reinforced. Furthermore, such prevention information makes it possible to improve accident prevention and therefore to minimize the generation of alert information.

[0040] According to certain embodiments, said at least one piece of prevention information is received from the remote server in response to a request sent by the mobile terminal to the remote server.

[0041] Thus, the prevention information(s) can be updated dynamically and transparently for the isolated worker using the mobile terminal. This allows for more flexibility and enhances ease of use for the user.

[0042] According to certain embodiments, the mobile terminal executes a transmission, to a remote alert server to which the mobile terminal is connected via the radiocommunications network, of at least one alert information generated by the security protocol.

[0043] According to the embodiments, the remote server and the remote alert server are one and the same server, or else separate servers.

[0044] According to certain embodiments, said at least one alert information is transmitted with representative geolocation information:

[0045] - of the position of the mobile terminal at the time of generation of said at least alert information; or

[0046] - of the last known position of the mobile terminal after activation of the protocol and before generation of said at least one alert information.

[0047] Thus, the alert server has access to the geographical position of the mobile terminal at the time of generation of the alert or to the last known position e.g. in the case of an intervention in an area in which the information allowing geolocation is not available.

[0048] According to certain embodiments, said at least one alert information is transmitted with an identifier associated, within the remote alert server, with an expected location of the mobile terminal.

[0049] Thus, the alert server has access to the geographical position of the mobile terminal indirectly, via the identifier associated with an expected location. Furthermore, the same security protocol can be dynamically associated with interventions at different locations by updating the correspondence between the expected location of the mobile terminal and the identifier associated at the level of the remote alert server.

[0050] The invention also relates to a computer program comprising program code instructions for implementing a method as described above, according to any one of its different embodiments, when executed on a computer.

[0051] The invention also relates to an electronic device for activating, on a mobile terminal, a security protocol comprising at least one alert function comprising program code instructions configuring the mobile terminal so that at least one alert information is generated on the basis of a comparison between, on the one hand, a quantity based on at least one data item from a sensor, integrated or communicatively connected to the mobile terminal, or from an input means of the mobile terminal and, on the other hand, a predetermined activation threshold. Such an electronic activation device comprises a reprogrammable computing machine or a dedicated computing machine configured to implement the steps of the activation method as described previously (according to any one of the various embodiments mentioned above).Thus, the features and advantages of this device are the same as those of the corresponding steps of the activation method described above. Therefore, they are not detailed further.

[0055] [Fig.l] represents a mobile terminal on which a security protocol is activated according to an embodiment of the invention;

[0057] [Fig.3] represents the steps of a method of activating the security protocol on the terminal of [Fig.l] according to one embodiment of the invention.

[0058] Detailed description of embodiments of the invention

[0059] The general principle of the invention is based on the activation, on a mobile terminal, of a security protocol comprising one (or more) alert functions making it possible to secure an intervention by an isolated worker equipped with the mobile terminal in question.

[0060] More particularly, the activation of the protocol follows the obtaining, by the mobile terminal, of an identifier of the protocol considered. Thus, the isolated worker is relieved of the analysis and reflection necessary for determining the alert function(s) to be implemented during the intervention in question. For example, such reflection could have been made upstream of the intervention, during the design of the security protocol to be implemented for this particular intervention.

[0061] We now present, in relation to [Fig.l] a mobile terminal 100 on which a security protocol is activated according to an embodiment of the invention.

[0062] More particularly, the terminal 100 (e.g. a smartphone, a tablet, a connected watch, a personal computer, etc.) comprises a sensor 100c delivering data related to one (or more) physical quantity to which the sensor 100c is sensitive. For example, the sensor 100c is an accelerometer delivering data related to the acceleration experienced by the sensor 100c. According to other implementations, the sensor 100c is a system capable of measuring quantities along different geometric axes. In such cases, the sensor 100c based on one (or more) accelerometer is capable of delivering, for example, an angle between, on the one hand, a predetermined orientation axis of the sensor and, on the other hand, a horizontal plane (or any other predefined reference plane). According to other examples, the sensor 100c is a pressure sensor, a magnetometer, a light sensor, etc.

[0063] In certain embodiments, the sensor 100c is not integrated into the terminal 100, but constitutes a device separate from the terminal 100 intended to be worn by the isolated worker using the terminal 100. In such embodiments, the mobile terminal 100 and the sensor 100c comprise means allowing them to be communicatively connected to each other. Such means comprise, for example, a module implementing wireless communications functions (e.g. according to a Bluetooth or Zigbee protocol) and / or wired communications functions (e.g. according to a CAN protocol (for “Controller Area Network” in English)).

[0064] In certain embodiments, the terminal 100 comprises a plurality of sensors 100c, each sensor 100c delivering data linked to one (or more) physical quantity to which the sensor 100c in question is sensitive.

[0065] In certain embodiments, the terminal 100 comprises means enabling it to be communicatively connected to a plurality of sensors 100c distinct from the terminal 100.

[0066] In some embodiments, the terminal 100 comprises one (or more) integrated sensors 100c as well as means allowing it to be communicatively connected to one (or more) sensors 100c distinct from the terminal 100.

[0067] Returning to [Fig.l], the terminal 100 comprises wireless communication means, e.g. according to a cellular protocol of the 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, etc. type within the meaning of 3GPP (for “3rd Generation Partnership Project” in English) or LoRa®, NB-IoT (for “Narrowband Internet of things” in English), Cat-M, allowing it to connect to a radiocommunications network via a base station 130. In this way, the terminal 100 is able to communicate, via the network core 140, with a remote server 160 in order, for example, to download the security protocol as described further below in relation to [Fig.3]. Furthermore, the terminal 100 is able to communicate, via the network core 140, with an alert server 150 (e.g. a server of an emergency service) in order, for example, to transmit the alert information generated by the alert function(s) executed on the terminal 100 as described further below in relation to [Fig.3].

[0068] Depending on the embodiments, the remote server 160 and the alert server 150 are one and the same server, or else separate servers as in the embodiment of [Fig.l].

[0069] Furthermore, in order to implement all or part of the steps of the activation method of [Fig.3] (according to any one of the embodiments described below in relation to [Fig.3]), the terminal 100 comprises a device 100 comprising for example ([Fig.2]) a random access memory 203 (for example a RAM memory), a processing unit 202 equipped for example with a processor, and controlled by a computer program stored in a read-only memory 201 (for example a ROM memory or a hard disk). On initialization, the code instructions of the computer program are for example loaded into the random access memory 203 before being executed by the processor of the processing unit 202.

[0070] This [Fig.2] illustrates only one particular way, among several possible ones, of producing the device lOOd so that it performs certain steps of the activation method according to the invention (according to any one of the embodiments and / or variants described below in relation to [Fig.3]). Indeed, these steps can be carried out indifferently on a reprogrammable computing machine (a PC computer, a DSP processor or a microcontroller) executing a program comprising a sequence of instructions, or on a dedicated computing machine (for example a set of logic gates such as an FPGA or an ASIC, or any other hardware module).

[0071] In the case where the device lOOd is produced with a reprogrammable computing machine, the corresponding program (i.e. the sequence of instructions) may be stored in a removable storage medium (such as for example a CD-ROM, a DVD-ROM, a USB key) or not, this storage medium being partially or totally readable by a computer or a processor.

[0072] In some embodiments, the device 100 is included in the mobile terminal 100.

[0073] We now present, in relation to [Fig. 3], the steps of a method for activating the security protocol on the terminal 100 according to an embodiment of the invention.

[0074] More particularly, the security protocol comprises at least one alert function comprising program code instructions configuring the mobile terminal 100 so that one (or more) alert information is generated on the basis of a comparison between:

[0075] - on the one hand, a quantity based on at least one piece of data which comes either from one (or of several) sensor 100c, or of a means of inputting the mobile terminal 100; and

[0076] - on the other hand, a predetermined activation threshold.

[0077] As described above in relation to [Fig.l], depending on the embodiments, the sensor(s) 100c is either integrated into the terminal 100, or communicatively connected to the terminal 100. Furthermore, the input means comprises for example a physical keyboard, a touch screen or even a microphone of the terminal 100.

[0078] Similarly, depending on the implementations considered, the aforementioned quantity is either di directly representative of said at least one piece of data, or representative of a variation, over a predetermined period of time, of said at least one piece of data. Thus, the alert functions are, for example, functions of the type:

[0079] - a motion absence detection function in which one (or more) alert information is generated when a variation, over a predetermined period of time, of data representative of an acceleration is less than a predetermined low threshold. In this case, the sensor 100c is for example an accelerometer, integrated or communicatively connected to the terminal 100, delivering the data representative of the acceleration in question;

[0080] - a terminal fall detection function in which one (or more) in alert formation is generated when a variation, over a predetermined period of time, of data representative of an acceleration is greater than a predetermined high threshold. In this case, the sensor 100c is for example an accelerometer, integrated or communicatively connected to the terminal 100, delivering the data representative of the acceleration in question. The predetermined high threshold is for example strictly greater than the predetermined low threshold so as to effectively implement, on the one hand, a fall detection function and, on the other hand, a lack of movement detection function;

[0081] - a loss of verticality detection function in which one (or more) in alert formation is generated when an estimated angle between, on the one hand, a predetermined orientation axis of the sensor 100c and, on the other hand, a horizontal plane (or any other predefined reference plane) is less than a predetermined angular threshold, for example an angular threshold of twenty degrees in the case of the horizontal plane. Such an estimated angle is for example derived from a module implementing one (or more) sensors 100c, integrated or communicatively connected to the terminal 100, of the accelerometer type; and

[0082] - a time alert function in which one (or more) information alert is generated when a variation, over a predetermined period of time, of data from the aforementioned input means of the terminal 100 is less than a predetermined activation threshold. For example, the alert function generates alert information when the isolated worker user of the terminal 100 does not press a key (physical key of a physical keyboard of the terminal 100 or virtual key materialized on a touch screen of the terminal 100) before the end of the predetermined period of time.

[0083] In certain embodiments, the time alert function comprises a restitution (e.g. periodic or after a predetermined time delay less than or equal to the predetermined time period), on a restitution means of the terminal 100 (e.g. a screen or a loudspeaker), of a reminder informing the isolated worker user of the terminal 100 that he must act on the aforementioned input means before the end of the period of predetermined time.

[0084] In certain embodiments, the time alert function comprises an entry, by the isolated worker using the terminal 100 (e.g. via the aforementioned entry means of the terminal 100) and upon activation of the protocol, of the predetermined time period and / or the predetermined time delay.

[0085] In certain embodiments in which the security protocol comprises at least the time alert function, the terminal 100 executes a transmission, to the remote server 160:

[0086] - of a position of the terminal 100 at the time of activation of the protocol; and

[0087] - of the predetermined period of time.

[0088] Thus, the remote server 160 acts as a mirror of the terminal 100. Such embodiments are for example interesting when the isolated worker using the mobile terminal 100 must intervene in a white zone, i.e. outside the coverage of the radiocommunications network (e.g. for an intervention in a basement). Indeed, the remote server 160 knowing the intervention position of the isolated worker using the terminal 100 can itself generate an alert if the terminal 100 does not return to a coverage zone of the radiocommunications network after the predetermined period of time.

[0089] Returning to [Fig.3], during a step E300, the terminal 100 obtains a protocol identifier.

[0090] For example, such obtaining is done via the aforementioned input means of the terminal 100. In this case, the user of the terminal 100 directly enters the identifier via the input means of the terminal 100.

[0091] Alternatively, obtaining the identifier comprises a scan, using one (or more) image sensors of the terminal 100, of a QR (for “Quick Response” in English) code representative of the identifier. The terminal 100 thus obtains the identifier via the interpretation of the information conveyed by the QR code.

[0092] According to another alternative, obtaining the identifier comprises a capture, using one (or more) microphones of the terminal 100, of an acoustic signal (e.g. a voice signal) representative of the identifier. The terminal 100 thus obtains the identifier, for example, by implementing a voice recognition technique applied to the captured acoustic signal.

[0093] Thus, the identification and activation of the protocol is done simply, the actual obtaining of the identifier (i.e. independently of the actual gripping of the terminal 100) not requiring physical contact between the isolated worker using the terminal 100 and the terminal 100 in question in order to enter the identifier. This effect is obtained whether via the aforementioned scan, via the aforementioned capture or via any other means of capturing information representative of the identifier not requiring contact. physical between the user of the terminal 100 and the terminal 100 in question for the actual capture. This solution is thus suitable for isolated workers with minimal training on the functionalities of the terminal 100.

[0094] For example, the QR code was generated before the intervention, e.g. at the time of designing the security protocol corresponding to the planned intervention, then printed to be provided to the isolated worker during the intervention in question.

[0095] Returning to [Fig.3], during a step E310, the terminal 100 downloads, before activation and from the remote server 160, the security protocol identified by the identifier obtained during the execution of step E300.

[0096] Thus, the security protocol can be updated dynamically and transparently for the isolated worker using the terminal 100. This allows more flexibility and reinforces the simplicity of use for the user.

[0097] However, in certain embodiments, step E310 is not executed and the security protocol is implemented on the terminal 100 before its use by the isolated worker (e.g. by factory configuration or by a project manager who plans the interventions to be carried out by the isolated worker).

[0098] In certain embodiments, the protocol identifier is representative of the alert function(s) of the security protocol to be activated. The alert function(s) in question are themselves either downloaded from the remote server 160, or implemented on the terminal 100 before their use. The security protocol is thus determined by the identifier obtained, then activated on the terminal 100.

[0099] Returning to [Fig. 3], during a step E320, the terminal 100 activates the security protocol corresponding to the identifier obtained. For example, several protocols are implemented on the terminal 100 and the protocol corresponding to the identifier obtained during the execution of step E300 is activated.

[0100] However, in some embodiments, the activation of the security protocol corresponding to the obtained identifier is implemented when, in addition, at least one additional condition belonging to the following group is met:

[0101] - the protocol identifier is obtained when the terminal 100 is in a geo zone predetermined graphic. For example, the position of the terminal 100 is determined via a geolocation receiver (e.g. of the GPS, Galileo, Beidou or Glonass type) implemented in the terminal 100;

[0102] - the protocol identifier is obtained at a time belonging to a window predetermined time;

[0103] - a user profile configured on the terminal 100 corresponds to a user profile expected associated with the protocol. For example, certain protocols implemented on the terminal 100 are only accessible to certain users of the terminal 100, identified as such via the user profile with which they connect to the terminal 100.

[0104] Thus, the security of the implementation of the correct security protocol actually corresponding to the planned intervention is reinforced.

[0105] Returning to [Fig.3], during a step E330, the terminal 100 restores, on a rendering means of the screen or speaker type of the terminal 100, one (or more) prevention information associated with the protocol.

[0106] Such a restitution combines, for example, texts, images and links to additional resources such as videos. The objective is to avoid accidents for the isolated worker by indicating to him on his terminal 100 the risks and preventive actions necessary for the activity to be carried out, for example on a given site and / or at a particular time.

[0107] Thus, securing the implementation of the correct safety protocol actually corresponding to the planned intervention is reinforced. Furthermore, such prevention information makes it possible to improve accident prevention and therefore to minimize the generation of alert information.

[0108] In some embodiments, the terminal 100 connects to the remote server 160 to obtain the prevention information (or information) associated with the safety protocol and return it to the isolated worker. For example, the prevention information (or information) is received from the remote server in response to a request sent by the terminal 100 to the remote server 160.

[0109] Thus, the prevention information (or information) can be updated dynamically and transparently for the isolated worker using the terminal 100. This allows more flexibility and reinforces the simplicity of use for the user.

[0110] However, in certain embodiments, step E330 is not executed and no prevention information associated with the protocol is returned by the terminal 100.

[0111] Returning to [Fig.3], during a step E340, the terminal 100 transmits, to the alert server 150, one (or more) alert information items generated by the security protocol.

[0112] In certain embodiments, the alert information (or information) is transmitted with representative geolocation information:

[0113] - of the position of the terminal 100 at the time of generation of the information (or alert information; or

[0114] - of the last known position of the terminal 100 after activation of the protocol and before generation of the alert information(s).

[0115] Thus, the alert server 150 has access to the geographical position of the terminal 100 at the time of generation of the alert or to the last known position eg in the case of an intervention in an area in which the information allowing geolocation is not available. For example, the position of the terminal 100 is determined via a geolocation receiver (e.g. of the GPS, Galileo, Beidou or Glonass type) implemented in the terminal 100, and / or via the identification of a radio signal of the beacon type (e.g. a Bluetooth beacon or WiFi terminal) received by the terminal 100.

[0116] In some embodiments, the alert information (or information) is transmitted with an associated identifier, within the remote alert server 150, to an expected location of the terminal 100.

[0117] Thus, the alert server 150 has access to the geographical position of the terminal 100 indirectly, via the identifier associated with an expected location. Furthermore, the same security protocol can be dynamically associated with interventions at different locations by updating the correspondence between the expected location of the terminal 100 and the associated identifier at the level of the remote alert server 150. According to the embodiments, the identifier associated with an expected location and the identifier of the protocol are one and the same identifier, or different identifiers.

[0118] However, in certain embodiments, step E340 is not executed and no alert information is transmitted by the terminal 100, for example when no condition allowing the generation of such an alert is met. This may be the case when the intervention of the isolated worker takes place without problems.
