[0024] For the description of the invention and the understanding of the claims, the vertical, longitudinal and transverse orientations according to the reference V, L, T indicated in the figures, the longitudinal L and transverse T axes of which extend in a horizontal plane, will be adopted without limitation.

[0025] By convention, the longitudinal axis L is oriented from right to left and the transverse axis is oriented from outside to inside.

[0026] In the following description, identical, similar or analogous elements will be designated by the same reference numbers.

[0027] Example of realization [Fig.l] shows a door unit 10 comprising a fixed door frame 12 and a door with two leaves hinged in an accordion on the left 18G and right 18D.

[0028] Apart from the presence of a gate 24 integrated into the left leaf 18G, the door unit 10 has a general symmetry of design with respect to a median vertical and transverse plane PVM corresponding to the closing plane of the two leaves.

[0029] The fixed door frame 12 is for example made of concrete and it includes a lintel upper horizontal 14S, a left spandrel 16G, and a right spandrel 16D which delimit the rectangular opening capable of being closed by the leaves 18G and 18D.

[0030] [Fig.l] also shows a horizontal threshold 141 which here completes the three other elements 14S, 16G and 16D of the fixed door frame 12.

[0031] The closing door of the opening delimited by the fixed door frame 12 is essentially made up of two articulated leaves.

[0032] Each left 18G, right 18D leaf comprises a left 20G, right 20D spandrel panel which is pivotally mounted relative to the associated spandrel 16G, 16D around a vertical left articulation axis A1620G, right A1620D respectively.

[0033] Each spandrel panel 16G, 16D can pivot in either direction between a state closed state of the door in which it extends in a vertical and longitudinal plane corresponding to the plane of the fixed door frame 12, and an open state (See figures 5 and 7) in which it extends in a vertical and transverse plane, inside the room to which the fixed door frame 12 belongs.

[0034] Each left 18G, right 18D leaf further comprises a left 22G, right 22D axis panel which is pivotally mounted relative to the adjacent left 20G, right 20D spandrel panel around a vertical left articulation axis A2022G, right A2022D respectively.

[0035] Each axis panel 22G, 22D can pivot in both directions relative to the adjacent left 20G, right 20D spandrel panel between a closed state of the door in which it extends in a vertical and longitudinal plane and in the extension of the adjacent left 20G, right 20D spandrel panel, and an open state (See figures 5 and 7) in which it extends in a vertical and transverse plane, inside the room and parallel to the adjacent left 20G, right 20D spandrel panel.

[0036] Thus in the closed state of the door, the four panels 20G, 22G, 22D and 20D are coplanar while in the open state of the door, the two adjacent panels 20G and 22G of the left leaf 18G extend transversely and are adjacent to the left spandrel 16G, and the two adjacent panels 20D and 22D of the right leaf 18D extend transversely and are adjacent to the right spandrel 16D.

[0037] In the lower part, the left axis panel 22G comprises a gate 24 which is pivotally mounted relative to this left axis panel 22G around a vertical axis A2224G.

[0038] The gate 24 is a swing gate which can pivot in both directions relative to the left axis panel 22G between a closed state of the gate 24 in which it extends in the plane of the left axis panel 22G (See Figures 1 to 3 and 6), and a maximum open position (See [Fig. 4]) in which it extends in a plane orthogonal to the plane of the left axis panel 22G.

[0039] Each left spandrel panel 20G, right 20D is rectangular and it is delimited by two opposite vertical edges (Also called edges) 28G and 30G, 28D and 30D, of which a vertical edge 28G, 28D is adjacent to the associated left spandrel 16G, 16D respectively.

[0040] Each left 22G, right 22D axis panel is rectangular and is delimited by two opposite vertical edges 31G and 32G, 31D and 32D, one vertical edge 31G, 31D of which is adjacent to the vertical edge 30G, 30D of the associated left 20G, right 20D spandrel panel respectively. The other vertical edge 32G, 32D is a free edge (non-articulated) which longitudinally delimits the axis panel 22G, 22D and the corresponding left 18G, right 18D leaf.

[0041] In the closed state of the door, the two free edges 32G and 32D of the two left axis panels 22G and 22D respectively are adjacent to each other.

[0042] Thanks to guide means which will be described later, during the various movements of the left hinged leaves 18G and 18D, the free vertical edges 32G and 32D of the two left axis panels 22G and 22D always move in the vertical and longitudinal plane in which the four hinged panels extend in the closed state of the door.

[0043] Each left spandrel panel 20G, right 20D is also delimited by two opposite horizontal edges upper 34GS, 34DS and lower 34GI, 34DI respectively.

[0044] Each left 22G, right 22D axis panel is also delimited by two opposite horizontal edges, upper 36GS, 36DS and lower 36GI, 36DI respectively.

[0045] In the closed state of the door, the four upper edges 34GS, 36GS, 36DS and 34DS are aligned longitudinally and are generally adjacent to the lintel 14S, and the four lower edges 34GI, 36GI, 36DI and 34DI are aligned longitudinally and are generally adjacent to the horizontal threshold 141.

[0046] Description of the various means of “fire” sealing The internal vertical and transverse face of the left spandrel 16G, right 16D is equipped over its entire height with a vertical profile 116G, 116D respectively.

[0047] Each of the two opposite vertical edges 28G and 30G, 28D and 30D of each left 20G, right 20D spandrel panel is equipped over its entire height with a vertical profile 128G and 130G, 128D and 130D respectively.

[0048] Each of the articulated vertical edges 31G, 31D of each left 22G, right 22D axis panel is equipped over its entire height with a vertical profile 131G, 131D respectively.

[0049] Each of the free vertical edges 32G, 32D of each left 22G, right 22D axis panel is equipped over its entire height with a vertical profile 132G, 132D respectively.

[0050] The internal horizontal and longitudinal face of the lintel 14S is equipped over its entire length with a profile 114S.

[0051] Referring in particular to Figures 8A to 8C, it can be seen that each of the four edges upper 34GS, 36GS, 36DS and 34DS is equipped over its entire length with a 134GS, 136GS, 136DS and 134DS profile

[0052] The internal horizontal and longitudinal face 1141 of the threshold 141 is a smooth face.

[0053] Each of the four lower edges 34GI, 36GI, 36DI and 34DI is equipped over its entire length with a profile 134GI, 136GI, 136DI and 134DI

[0054] As can be seen in particular in detail and on a large scale, and in accordance with the invention, two by two, the vertical profiles which are adjacent in the closed state of the door constitute chicanes (or labyrinths).

[0055] Thus, from left to right considering [Fig. 1], we distinguish five successive chicanes: C1D between profiles 128D and 116D; C2D between profiles 131D and 130D; C3 between profiles 132D and 132G; C2G between profiles 130G and 13IG; and CIG between profiles 116G and 128G.

[0056] For the C1D, CIG and C2D, C2G baffles the positioning and conformation of the adjacent metal profiles used (by symmetry and complementarity) are such that they are not in contact and are not connected to each other so that the heat cannot pass from one panel to the other by conduction.

[0057] In particular, the opposite vertical transverse faces 200 of two adjacent profiles are spaced apart from each other, and each of the two profiles carries a vertical fire-tight seal JEF, these two seals associated with a baffle being spaced apart transversely.

[0058] The internal space of the baffle houses a JIF intumescent vertical seal.

[0059] In the event of a fire, the JIF intumescent seal material is activated when the temperature exceeds a threshold value. A hard foam with high thermal insulation values then forms in the internal space of the baffle. The intumescent material is activated before the temperatures destroy the JEF fire seals. The expanding intumescent material fills the internal space before the JEF fire seals are burned. It seals the internal space and forms an impenetrable barrier to fire and smoke.

[0060] As a supplement, and as illustrated in [Fig.8A], on the exterior side of the door, the vertical and longitudinal face 117D (117G) of the fixed vertical profile 116D (116G) which is adjacent to a facing portion of the spandrel 16D (16G) can be equipped with one or two JIF intumescent seals.

[0061] For the central baffle C3, the two adjacent vertical profiles 132G and 132D are complementary but are not identical, in particular to allow them to “nest” into each other when the door is closed.

[0062] The profile 132D comprises a U-shaped profile 202D which extends over the entire height, the parallel and opposite lateral wings 204D of which delimit an open internal space.

[0063] The complementary profile 132G comprises a central wing 202G which extends over the entire height and which - in the closed state of the door - is received at least partly inside the U-shaped yoke 202D.

[0064] On its internal face, each lateral wing 204D of the U-shaped yoke 202D carries a vertical intumescent joint JIP. In the event of fire, these two intumescent joints JIP - spaced transversely, are capable of filling the internal space of the chicane C3 between the yoke 202D and the central wing 202G.

[0065] Each JIP joint is, for example, a self-adhesive intumescent fire-resistant joint of the PALUSOL® (ODICE) reference marketed by the JOINT DUAL Company.

[0066] In the upper part of the two leaves and the four hinged panels - in the closed state of the door - the four longitudinally aligned profiles 134GS, 136GS, 136DS and 134DS form the equivalent of a quasi-continuous upper horizontal profile which - in cooperation with the upper horizontal fixed profile 114S carried by the lintel 14S (See [Fig.9]) - forms a chicane C4 which extends over the entire length of the door.

[0067] The longitudinal fixed profile 114S comprises a vertical wing 115S whose face oriented towards the interior of the room is equipped over its entire length with an intumescent seal JIF which, in the event of fire, is capable of filling the internal space of the baffle C4 between the fixed longitudinal profile 114S and the four longitudinally aligned profiles 134GS, 136GS, 136DS and 134DS of the four articulated panels.

[0068] This is, for example, a self-adhesive intumescent seal with reference 948017 marketed by the company FORSTER SYSTÈMES DE PROFILÉS SA.

[0069] In the lower part of the two leaves and the four hinged panels - in the closed state of the door - the four longitudinally aligned profiles 134GI, 136GI, 136DI and 134DI form the equivalent of a quasi-continuous lower horizontal profile which extends opposite the horizontal upper face of the threshold 141.

[0070] Along its entire length, each profile 134GI, 136GI, 136DI and 134DI carries a JECF fire-resistant seal on a support whose lower edge is adjacent to the horizontal upper face of the threshold 141.

[0071] The JECF seal is, for example, a seal marketed under the reference MN20CF by the company JOINT DUAL.

[0072] As regards the gate 24, it is received in a gate frame 38 integrated into the lower part of the left axis panel 22G which, over its entire periphery, that is to say on each of its four vertical and horizontal edges, is equipped with an internal profile 138 which, in the closed state of the gate, cooperates with a complementary and adjacent external peripheral profile 124 which surrounds the gate 24 along its four sides to form a peripheral baffle C5 (see [Fig. 10]) which extends along the four edges of the gate 24.

[0073] Along the entire length of the peripheral chicane C5 associated with the gate 24, a seal in- tumescent JIF is arranged in the internal space between profiles 124 and 138.

[0074] This is, for example, a self-adhesive intumescent seal with reference 948017 marketed by the company FORSTER SYSTÈMES DE PROFILÉS SA.

[0075] The various profiles are, for example, cold-formed tubes belonging to the “Flame arrester” range marketed under the name FORSTER PRESTO by the company Forster Systèmes de profilés SA.

[0076] Description of the fixed pins and the extendable pins for locking the panels In the event of a fire, the various components, and in particular the four large main panels, deform and expand. However, to comply with applicable standards, it is necessary for the door to remain in its "generally flat" and closed state for as long as possible.

[0077] For this purpose, various “locking” pins are provided, installed at different points.

[0078] The positions of the various locking pins are shown in [Fig.l].

[0079] First of all, the door block 10 comprises a series of fixed locking pins, also called anti-unhinging pins.

[0080] Each fixed locking pin arranged horizontally PHF is carried by a vertical profile and it cooperates with a complementary horizontal hole TH formed in an adjacent profile in which it is received axially.

[0081] As shown schematically in [Fig.l], a pair of horizontal fixed pins PHF - spaced vertically - is provided between the adjacent vertical profiles 128G and 116G, between the adjacent vertical profiles 130G and 13IG, between the adjacent vertical profiles 128D and 116D and between the adjacent vertical profiles 130D and 131D; i.e. four pairs of horizontal fixed pins PHF, each of which is capable of being received in a complementary horizontal hole TH.

[0082] Then, to "lock" the two left 22G and right 22D axis panels in the closed state of the door, the door unit 10 comprises a series of fire-extendable pins, five of which are horizontal pins PEH and two of which are vertical pins PEV.

[0083] Each horizontal fire-extendable pin PEH is capable of being received in a complementary horizontal hole TEH.

[0084] The upper horizontal edge 36GS, 36DS of each axis panel 22G, 22D is here provided with a vertical pin extendable to the PEV fire for locking the associated axis panel which, beyond a triggering temperature threshold value, extends opposite a portion of the longitudinal wing 115S of the profile 114S which equips the lintel 14S of the fixed door frame 12.

[0085] Thus, as can be seen in [Fig.9] (In which the PEV pin is shown in the active extended position) the right axis panel 22D is locked and is prevented from move transversely along the “T” axis.

[0086] Each PEH or PEV fire-extendable pin is, for example, an “HLS” locking pin, reference 710715, marketed by the company “DICTATOR Technik GmbH”, which is also called a “thermal lock”. When the ambient temperature rises to approximately 600°C and the locking pin itself is approximately 65°C, the fusible substance becomes liquid and the spring integrated in the cylinder causes the pin to come out.

[0087] Description of mechanical components for guiding, driving and locking the articulated door leaves In the upper part, the door comprises an upper mechanical block 300 which generally takes the form of a horizontal rectangular parallelepiped box 302 which extends over the entire length of the door and towards the interior of the room.

[0088] As can be seen in [Fig. 13], at its right part considering [Fig. 13], towards the outside, the housing 302 is completed by a horizontal and longitudinal guide rail 304.

[0089] At its upper end, to the right of its free vertical edge 32G, 32D, each left axis panel 22G, 22D is equipped with guide rollers which are reread in rolling in the guide rail 304.

[0090] The guide rollers here comprise a roller 308 with a horizontal axis and a pair of rollers 310 with vertical axes.

[0091] These three guide rollers are rotated by a support 312G, 312D which is integral with an associated hinge 314G, 314D for articulating the associated axis panel, around the corresponding axis A22G, A22D (See [Fig.6]).

[0092] In the lower part, the door block has a 316 steel locking shoe which is fixed on the horizontal upper face of the threshold 14i.

[0093] As can be seen in particular in [Fig.8C], the shoe 316 comprises, in its upper face, two housings 318G, 318D, each of which is capable of receiving a locking roller when the door is in its closed state.

[0094] At its lower end, to the right of its free vertical edge 32G, 32D, each left axis panel 22G, 22D is equipped with a locking roller 320G, 320D which is capable of being received in its associated housing 318G, 318D.

[0095] For driving in both directions - and locking in the closed position - each of the two left 20G and right 20D spandrel panels, at its upper part, each panel 20G, 20D is equipped with a door closer 322G, 322D with sliding arm 324G, 324D.

[0096] At its free end, each arm 324D, 324G carries a roller 328 which is received in guidance and sliding in an associated slide 326D, 326G which is fixed on the interior vertical face of the profile 134DS, 134GS.

[0097] The other end of each arm 324D, 324G is rotated in both directions by a mechanism integrated into the housing 302 which notably comprises a motor 330 and a chain assembly 332.

[0098] Each door closer is a version with a mechanical stop or lock, here in the closed angular position of the spandrel panels 20D, 20G. Variants The invention is not limited to the embodiment which has just been described.

[0099] In particular, it applies regardless of the direction of opening, towards the outside or towards the inside of the premises, both of the door with its different leaves and of the gate.

[0100] Supplements The fire resistance classification report defines the classification assigned to an accordion door set, in accordance with the operating procedures given in standard EN 13501-2 “Fire classification of construction products and building elements - Part 2: Classification based on fire resistance test data excluding products used in ventilation systems”.

[0101] The frame of each panel is insulated (above and below the glazing) using ROCKFACADE reference rock wool marketed by the company R0CKW00L, 50 mm thick and with a theoretical density of 39 kg / m3. The insulation is covered on each side with a steel sheet fifteen tenths of a millimeter thick. The sheets provide a 15 mm overlap on the frame and are fixed by regular spot welds at a maximum pitch of 50 mm.

[0102] The accordion metal door block is defined as a “non-load-bearing element”. Its function is to resist fire with regard to the fire resistance performance characteristics given in paragraph 5 of standard EN 13501-2.
