Description

Title of the invention: Pool cleaning robot

[0001] The present invention relates to an electric submersible type pool cleaning robot. Background of the invention

[0002] Electric pool cleaning robots are known on the market, capable of cleaning the different surfaces of the pool, from the bottom only in the case of the most basic models, to cleaning the bottom, walls and waterline of the entire pool with different cleaning cycles, for the most complete models. The type and access to the filter also vary depending on the model and manufacturer, with robots with access to the filter from the top being more popular due to the ease of cleaning the filter itself.

[0003] However, these cleaning robots have difficulty cleaning the corners of swimming pools and none of the known models have side brushes with arms, also called corner brushes, of the type used by vacuum cleaner robots to clean the corners of homes. Description of the invention

[0004] The objective of this invention is to provide a pool cleaning robot capable of cleaning corners. This type of robot comprises a housing provided with wheels for its support and movement, the housing being divided into a cover and a base which can be coupled together in a sealed and removable manner, and the separation of which allows access to the interior of said housing, which houses: - filtration means, - a power source housed in a sealed manner in the cover, and - impulse means powered by said power source and configured to impart a flow of water from at least one inlet to a water outlet through said filtration means.

[0005] This pool cleaning robot is characterized by the fact that it includes: - at least one rotary type corner brush located adjacent to the perimeter of the lower surface of the base, and - at least one electric motor housed in a sealed manner in the cover and connected to the power source, comprising at least one corner brush and at least one electric motor, the removable drive means of which are configured so as to be coupled together when the cover and the base are coupled.

[0006] This configuration makes it possible to install corner brushes on a submersible robot, without creating problems with the electrical connections of the motors.

[0007] In a preferred embodiment, the removable drive means of at least one corner brush consist of an orifice and the removable drive means of at least one electric motor consist of an axle configured to be coupled to said orifice.

[0008] Optionally, the base of the robot comprises the following elements: - a compartment configured to store the filtered residues in an accessible manner, and - at least one protective wall configured to separate and protect at least one electric motor from the residues stored in said compartment.

[0009] As a possible implementation, at least one corner brush comprises at least one arm defined by a longitudinal axis and whose length is sufficient to protrude from the perimeter of the housing when its longitudinal axis is positioned in the radial direction of the housing.

[0010] For their part, the filtration means may comprise a filter grid removably supported above the base which also acts as an upper cover of the compartment, being in turn provided with at least one respective through hole through which the electric motor passes through the filter grid. Brief description of the figures

[0011] [Fig. 1] [Fig. 1] is a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of the pool cleaning robot.

[0012] [Fig.2] [Fig.2] is a perspective and exploded view of the exemplary embodiment of the pool cleaning robot. Description of a preferred embodiment

[0013] A preferred and non-limiting example of the present pool cleaning robot is described below, with reference to Figures 1 and 2.

[0014] As illustrated in [Fig.l], this embodiment of the pool cleaning robot comprises a housing (1) provided with wheels for its support and two corner brushes (4) of rotary type and provided with three arms (41) each, located diagonally, opposite each other and adjacent to the perimeter of the lower surface of the housing (1). Said arms (41) are defined by a longitudinal axis and their length is sufficient to exceed the perimeter of the housing (1), when their longitudinal axis is positioned in its radial direction.

[0015] As can be seen in the exploded view of [Fig.2], the housing (1) is divided into a cover (1a) and a base (1b) which can be coupled together in a sealed and removable manner, and the separation of which allows access to the interior of the housing (1), where there are: - filtration means (2, 3), composed of a grid (2) and a cartridge (3), a power source housed in a sealed manner in the cover (la), impulse means powered by said power source and configured to impulse a flow of water from two inlets (11) to a water outlet (12) through said filtration means (2, 3), and two electric motors (5), one of which is not visible in the figure, housed in a sealed manner in the cover (la) and connected to the power source.

[0016] The two electric motors (5) each comprise removable drive means (51) consisting of an axle (51) configured to be coupled to each of the orifices (not visible in the figures) arranged in the center of the two corner brushes (4), so that each axle (51) is coupled to its respective orifice when the cover (1a) and the base (1b) are coupled.

[0017] In this embodiment of the robot, the base (1b) also comprises a compartment (13) covered by the filter grid (2) and configured to store the filtered residues in an accessible manner, as well as two protective walls (14) configured to separate and protect each electric motor (5) from the residues stored in said compartment (13). For its part, the filter grid (2) is provided with respective through holes (20) allowing each electric motor (51) to pass through it.
