Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A HORSESHOE INTO A MOULDABLE PRODUCT Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to a system and method for manufacturing a horseshoe into a fluid product capable of being molded and solidified. STATE OF THE PRIOR ART
[0002] To protect the underside of a horse's hoof from wear, it is known to fix a horseshoe with nails in the horse's foot.
[0003] With the development of modern techniques, the horseshoe can be replaced by a resin overlay, of the composite resin type. These resin overlays are modeled directly on the horse's foot by a farrier. This manual production directly on the horse is relatively complex to implement, because the horse's foot must be held during the modeling and drying time of the resin. Statement of the invention
[0004] An object of the present invention is to provide a system and method that makes it possible to manufacture a horseshoe from a fluid product that can be molded and solidified, such as a resin or a plastic material, more easily and particularly away from the horse.
[0005] For this purpose, a system is proposed for manufacturing a horseshoe from a fluid product, said system comprising:
[0006] - a box in which a molding product having a free surface is placed, where the molding product deforms under the effect of an external stress and which remains in this position until another external stress is applied to it, and
[0007] - a pressing plate having a flat lower face.
[0008] The invention also provides a method for manufacturing a horseshoe from a fluid product that can be molded, such as a resin or a plastic material, using a system according to the preceding variant, said method comprising:
[0009] - an adjustment step in which a metal horseshoe is adjusted to the horse's foot,
[0010] - a setting step during which the horseshoe thus adjusted is placed on the free surface of the molding product,
[0011] - a first pressing step during which the lower face of the plate pressing is placed against the horseshoe thus placed until said iron on horseback is pushed into the molding product,
[0012] - a first removal step during which the pressing plate and the iron horse are removed to leave an imprint in the molding product,
[0013] - a filling step during which a fluid product capable of being molded is cast into the imprint,
[0014] - a second pressing step during which the lower face of the plate pressing is placed against the free surface of the molding product,
[0015] - a solidification step during which the fluid product solidifies, and
[0016] - a second removal step during which the pressing plate and the iron horse in solidified fluid product thus formed are removed.
[0017] Advantageously, the method comprises, after the second removal step, a kneading step during which the molding product is kneaded to return to an initial state with a flat free surface and without imprints.
[0018] Advantageously, the method comprises, between the first removal step and the filling step, a first addition step during which at least one clip is pressed into the molding product at the level of the impression, leaving part of the clip in the impression.
[0019] Advantageously, the method comprises, between the first removal step and the second pressing step, a second addition step during which an insert is placed in the impression so as to be flush with the free surface of the fluid product when it has been cast.
[0020] Advantageously, the method comprises, between the filling step and the second pressing step, a third addition step during which a shock-absorbing sole is placed on the still liquid fluid product before pressing. Brief description of the drawings
[0021] The above-mentioned features of the invention, as well as others, will appear more clearly on reading the following description of an exemplary embodiment, said description being made in relation to the attached drawing:
[0022] [Fig-1] is a perspective view of a system according to the invention for manufacturing a horseshoe into a moldable product.
[0023] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS
[0024] [Fig. 1] shows a system 100 according to the invention which comprises a box 102 in which is arranged a molding product 104 having a free surface 104a which is flat and oriented upwards. The molding product 104 is any flexible product which deforms under the effect of an external stress (in particular when pressed on) and which remains in this position as long as another external stress is not applied to it.
[0025] Such a molding product 104 can be sand, called lunar sand, composed of flour, water and oil.
[0026] Such a molding product 104 may be sand, called magic sand, such as the product “kinetic sand”® from the company “Spin master”® and as described in patent EP-B-2 054 128 and consisting of granules covered with a binder.
[0027] The system 100 also comprises a pressing plate 106 provided here with a central handle 108 to facilitate handling. The pressing plate 106 has a lower face 106a which is flat. The pressing plate 106 is chosen from a material which does not stick to the fluid product used and described below.
[0028] The principle of manufacturing a horseshoe from a fluid product consists in that a farrier adjusts a metal horseshoe to the horse's foot, then places the horseshoe thus adjusted on the free surface 104a of the molding product 104 according to what is desired, it is possible to present the face of the horseshoe which comes against the horse's foot against the free surface 104a or conversely to present the face of the horseshoe which comes against the ground against the free surface 104a. The horseshoe thus placed is then pressed into the molding product 104 by pressing said horseshoe by the lower face 106a of the pressing plate 106, which allows said horseshoe to sink entirely into the molding product 104 until the surface of the horseshoe which comes against the ground, respectively against the horse's hoof, is flush with the free surface 104a.The pressing plate 106 and the horseshoe are then removed to leave a hollow impression 110 in the molding product 104. A fluid product can then be poured into the impression 110 until it is completely filled, and the lower face 106a of the pressing plate 106 is again applied against the free surface 104a of the molding product 104 to crush said fluid product and thus form a flat surface. The fluid product and the pressing plate 106 are then kept in this state until the fluid product solidifies and then the horseshoe thus formed is removed from the molding product 104 to be glued to the horse's foot.
[0029] The manufacture of the horseshoe from a fluid product is thus offset relative to the horse, and the placement of an adjusted horseshoe in the molding product 104 thus makes it possible to obtain a horseshoe in a molded product which is itself adjusted to the horse's foot.
[0030] The fluid product is any type of product sufficiently liquid to homogeneously fill the impression and it can be a resin or a plastic material.
[0031] The resin is any type of resin suitable for use as a horseshoe, such as a resin resulting from the mixture of a resin for example based on methylmethacrylate (MMA) and a hardener.
[0032] Similarly, plastic is any type of plastic suitable for use as a horseshoe, as a moldable plastic such as polyca-prolactone like the product "polydoh®".
[0033] After manufacturing the horseshoe from the fluid product, the molding product 104 is kneaded to return to an initial state with a flat free surface 104a and without imprint 110.
[0034] A method of manufacturing a horseshoe from a fluid product thus comprises:
[0035] - an adjustment step in which a metal horseshoe is adjusted to the horse's foot,
[0036] - a setting step during which the horseshoe thus adjusted is placed on the free surface 104a of the molding product 104 by presenting the face of the horseshoe which comes against the horse's foot against the free surface 104a or by presenting the face of the horseshoe which comes against the ground against the free surface 104a,
[0037] - a first pressing step during which the lower face 106a of the pressing plate 106 is pressed against the horseshoe thus placed until said horseshoe is pressed into the molding product 104,
[0038] - a first removal step during which the pressing plate 106 and the iron on horseback are removed to leave an imprint 110 in the molding product 104,
[0039] - a filling step during which a fluid product is poured into footprint 110,
[0040] - a second pressing step during which the lower face 106a of the pressing plate 106 is pressed against the free surface 104a of the molding product 104,
[0041] - a solidification step during which the fluid product solidifies, and
[0042] - a second removal step during which the pressing plate 106 and the horseshoe in solidified fluid product thus formed are removed.
[0043] For a new use of the system 100, the method comprises, after the second removal step, a kneading step during which the molding product 104 is kneaded to return to an initial state with a flat free surface 104a and without imprint 110.
[0044] It is also possible to integrate particular elements into the horseshoe made of solidified fluid product, such as clips, a shock-absorbing sole, a reinforcement, particularly made of metal.
[0045] For the clips, it is thus possible to push said clips into the molding product 104 at the level of the imprint 110 while leaving a part of the clip in the imprint 110 so that said part is enclosed in the horseshoe made of solidified fluid product when said fluid product is solidified. Thus, when the horseshoe made of solidified fluid product is removed, the clips are integral with said horseshoe.
[0046] The method then comprises, between the first removal step and the filling step, a first addition step during which at least one clip is pressed into the molding product 104 at the level of the imprint 110, leaving a portion of the clip in the imprint 110.
[0047] To reinforce the horseshoe in solidified fluid product, it is possible to add an insert in the still liquid fluid product and therefore before the positioning of the pressing plate 106. The method then comprises, between the filling step and the second pressing step, a second addition step during which an insert is placed in the still liquid fluid product before pressing, coming flush with the free surface of the layer of fluid product. After solidification, the insert is flush with the surface of the horseshoe in solidified fluid product which comes to bear against the ground.
[0048] The insert can also be inserted directly after the first removal step, i.e. before the filling step. Generally, the second addition step is between the first removal step and the second pressing step and the insert is placed in the impression 110, possibly in the fluid product if it is present, so as to be flush with the free surface of the fluid product when it has been cast.
[0049] For a shock-absorbing sole, it is possible to add a shock-absorbing sole over the still liquid fluid product and therefore before the pressing plate 106 is put in place. The method then comprises, between the filling step and the second pressing step, a third addition step during which a shock-absorbing sole is placed on the still liquid fluid product before pressing. After solidification and depending on the direction in which the metal horseshoe was pressed, the shock-absorbing sole is against the ground or between the hoof and the iron in solidified fluid product.
[0050] The three addition steps presented here are independent, and it is possible to carry out all of them at the same time or only some of them.
