Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Tool for removing site plugs planted in the ground and method for removing a site plug.
[0001] The present invention relates to a tool for removing construction pins and a method for removing the construction pin planted in the ground with the tool.
[0002] Urban construction zones are typically demarcated by a series of site markers planted in the ground and connected by tape or a chain. This demarcation is an essential measure to ensure the safety of professionals but also of the local population. These site markers can be planted in different soils including asphalt soils using a sledgehammer.
[0003] Their extraction following the completion of construction is generally carried out with tools available on site. This makes the extraction process laborious with unsuitable tools and can lead to risks of bodily injury or even electrocution.
[0004] The present invention aims to facilitate the extraction of site sheets.
[0005] The object of the invention is achieved by a tool for removing a site plug planted in a ground comprising a metal rod, an insulating coating on a portion of the metal rod and a tool-site plug interface means at one end of the rod and comprising a plurality of openings of different sizes adapted to engage a site plug having one of several predetermined diameters. Such a tool makes it easier to extract site plugs. Indeed, a single user is required to quickly position this tool around the site plug and then, by lever effect, extract the site plug.
[0006] According to one embodiment, the tool may comprise a metal rod with a minimum length of 40 cm. Such a material provides excellent strength and durability. Such a length makes it easy to handle the tool.
[0007] According to one embodiment, the tool may comprise an insulating coating which covers the end of the tool opposite the end with the tool-site plug interface means and which extends over at least 20 cm. Such a configuration makes it possible to reduce the risks of electrocution in the event of contact of the site plug with electrical installations. Indeed, the tool can be grasped with one or two hands on the insulating part which has a minimum length of 20 cm.
[0008] According to one embodiment, the insulating coating may comprise a surface with at least one protruding rib. The protruding ribs allow a better grip on the tool.
[0009] According to one embodiment, the tool-site sheet interface means may be made of metal, in particular steel. Thus, the tool has a certain durability and sufficient strength to extract site sheets.
[0010] According to one embodiment, the tool-site plug interface means may comprise at least three oblong openings with a semi-circular bottom of 14mm, 16mm and 18mm in diameter. Such a tool is therefore versatile since a single model is suitable for site plugs of different diameters thanks to the different oblong openings.
[0011] According to one embodiment, the oblong openings can be arranged transversely to the length of the metal rod. Such a configuration makes it possible to remove the construction site plugs inserted into these transverse oblong openings by achieving a lever effect.
[0012] The invention also relates to a method for removing a construction pin planted in the ground with the tool which may comprise installing the tool on the ground by gripping it only by the insulating covering, introducing the construction rod into one of the oblong openings whose diameter is best adapted to the diameter of the construction pin, carrying out a lever effect on the metal rod of the tool by pushing the tool-construction pin interface means against the ground to remove the construction pin from the ground. This method makes it possible to safely remove construction pins planted in the ground.
[0013] Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will be better understood on reading the detailed description which follows, with reference to the appended drawings in which:
[0014] [Fig.l] illustrates a tool for removing site plugs according to a first embodiment;
[0015] [Fig.2] illustrates the three-step process for removing a construction plug planted in the ground with the tool according to the first embodiment.
[0016] [Fig.l] illustrates a tool 100 for removing construction pins planted in the ground according to a first embodiment. The tool comprises a metal rod 2, an insulating coating 4 on a portion of the metal rod and a tool-construction pin interface means 6 comprising three openings 8, 10 and 12 at one end 20 of the metal rod 2.
[0017] The metal rod 2 has, for example, a minimum length of 40 cm, a cylindrical shape and a circular section with a diameter of between one and five centimeters. The section of the metal rod 2 could also be polygonal, for example hexagonal. The metal rod 2 is, however, in no way limited to these dimensions or shapes. The rod 2 is preferably made of a metallic material, such as steel, but could consist of any strong and durable material, such as reinforced plastic. Due to its dimensions, the metal rod 2 allows easy handling of the tool and helps to remove the construction pins in the ground by creating a lever effect with it.
[0018] The insulating coating 4 extends at least 20 cm along the metal rod 2. The insulating coating 4 covers the metal rod 2 at the opposite end 14 of the tool-site plug interface means 6. The two ends 16 and 16' of the insulating coating 4 are flared. The insulating coating 4 has a thickness of the order of one or more millimeters. The insulating coating 4 can be made of any material allowing electrical insulation, preferably a plastic material. The insulating coating 4 is however in no way limited to these dimensions, shapes, or material.
[0019] The insulating covering 4 comprises at least one projecting rib, 18, 18', 18” which extends along the insulating covering 4.
[0020] The insulating coating 4 reduces the risk of electrocution or bodily injury to the user, while the protruding ribs 18 make it easy to grip the tool.
[0021] The tool-site plug interface means 6 is located in the extension of the metal rod 2 or close to the end 20. The tool-site plug interface means 6 is made of a strong and durable material, in particular a metallic material such as steel. The tool-site plug interface means 6 has a width 11 and a length L2 of less than 20 cm and a thickness el of the order of one or more centimeters.
[0022] The tool-site plug interface means 6 has the shape of a rectangular block hollowed out over its entire thickness el by three openings 8, 10 and 12. The tool-site plug interface means 6 is, however, in no way limited to these dimensions, this shape, or material.
[0023] According to alternatives, the tool 100 could comprise a greater number or a smaller number of openings.
[0024] The openings 8, 10, 12 are transverse to the metal rod 2 and are oblong in shape with a semi-circular bottom 34, 36, 38 and extend over less than half the width 11 of the tool-site plug interface means 6. The openings 8, 10 and 12 are parallel to each other and to the width 11 of the tool-site plug interface means 6.
[0025] The opening 12 is located on one side of the metal rod 2 while the openings 8 and 10 are located on the other side of the metal rod 2.
[0026] The openings 8, 10 and 12 are delimited by borders 22, 24, 26 which extend over the order of a few centimeters. The borders 20 and 24 are partly common because the openings 8, 10 are located on the same side of the rod.
[0027] The openings 8, 10, 12 are configured such that a site plug can be inserted into one of the openings 8, 10, 12 to be able to remove it from the ground.
[0028] The openings 8, 10, 12 have a U shape and therefore each comprise parallel walls 28-28', 30-30', 32-32' between them which meet at the level of the semi- circular 34, 36, 38.
[0029] In [Fig.l], only the walls 28, 30, 32 are visible. These walls are orthogonal to the surface SI of the tool-site plug interface means 6. The walls 28-28', 30-30', 32-32' are smooth but could have a toothless surface. The toothless surface would allow better grip on different types of site plugs.
[0030] The oblong openings 8, 10, 12 have a shape and a diameter adapted to the diameter of the site plugs with a circular section. Here, the semi-circular bottoms 34, 36, 38 have a diameter of 14mm, 16mm, and 18mm respectively, allowing the introduction of the site plugs of 12mm, 14mm and 16mm, respectively. The diameter can be indicated on the surface S1 of the tool-site plug interface means 6 near the corresponding oblong openings 8, 10, 12.
[0031] The semi-circular bottoms 34, 36, 38 are in no way limited to these diameters. The openings are, however, in no way limited to this number and / or this shape. The openings 8-10-12 could, for example, have a shape suitable for cylindrical stakes with a hexagonal section.
[0032] [Fig.2] illustrates a method for removing a site plug 200 planted in the ground 300 with the tool 100 according to the first embodiment.
[0033] The method comprises a first step 1000 for placing the tool 100 on the ground 300 by gripping it only by the insulating covering 4. Then, during the second step 1020, the rod 202 of the site plug 200 is inserted into one of the oblong openings 8, 10, 12 whose diameter is best adapted to the diameter of the site plug 200. Then, during a third step 1040, by shaking the tool 100 and / or the site plug 200, the site plug 200 is removed from the ground 300, in particular by exerting a lever effect with the tool 100. The arrows a, b, and c of [Fig. 2] indicate the movement of the site plug 200, the tool 100 and the rod 2, respectively, under the action of the user.
