Description

Title of the invention: Sound absorption assembly

[0001] The present invention relates to an acoustic absorption assembly.

[0002] More specifically, the applicant filed patent application FR1911193 disclosing an acoustic absorption device intended to be used in particular in the field of high-fidelity music.

[0003] This prior art sound absorption device essentially comprises a honeycomb structure sandwiched between two outer skins, the honeycombs being under vacuum and partly filled with a powdery, pasty or liquid material.

[0004] As explained in this prior patent application, this prior acoustic absorption device makes it possible, in particular when it is placed under an acoustic high-fidelity ("Hi-Fi") device, and / or around the various cables connected to this device, to considerably improve the acoustic rendering of the device.

[0005] This is manifested in particular by better clarity of timbres, greater amplitude of stereo fields, better staging of musical planes, greater precision of placement of music stands, better quality silences, more faithful note holding.

[0006] After continuing his research work, the applicant developed a technical solution making it possible to further improve the acoustic rendering of a high-fidelity device.

[0007] The present invention thus relates to an acoustic absorption assembly, comprising:

[0008] - an acoustic absorption device comprising a honeycomb structure taken in sandwich between two outer skins, the cells of this structure being under vacuum and partly filled with a material chosen from the group comprising powdery materials, pasty materials and liquid materials,

[0009] - at least one permanent magnet placed inside this honeycomb structure, or adjacent to it.

[0010] It has been shown, during tests carried out in the laboratory, that the presence of the permanent magnet inside or next to the sound absorption device makes it possible to considerably increase the sound absorption capacity of this device, and therefore to reduce the vibration phenomena likely to disturb the quality of the acoustic rendering of a high-fidelity device.

[0011] Thus, when an acoustic absorption assembly according to the invention is used with a high-fidelity device, for example by placing this device on this acoustic absorption assembly, a completely exceptional sound quality is obtained, which can give the impression that the musicians are there.

[0012] According to other optional features of the present invention, taken alone or in combination:

[0013] - said magnet is a neodymium magnet: such a magnet has the advantage of being very powerful, and to be available on the market at a relatively low price;

[0014] - said magnet has a cylindrical sleeve shape: this geometry by particular proves to be very effective from an acoustic point of view;

[0015] - said sound absorption device has the shape of a panel rec tangular, and said magnet is placed in the center of this panel: such a panel can be placed under a high-fidelity device, such as an amplifier or a preamplifier; it can also be placed under other electronic devices whose vibrations are to be attenuated, such as streaming devices ("streamers"), CD / DVD players, electronic switches ("switches"), ADSL or fiber modems ("boxes"), computer towers, and more generally all electronic devices used for the transfer of analog and digital data;

[0016] - said sound absorption device has the shape of a cylindrical foot, and said magnet is placed in the center of this foot: a plurality of such feet can be placed between the aforementioned rectangular panel and a table on which the high-fidelity devices are placed;

[0017] - the sound absorption device has the shape of an annular part, and said magnet is placed in the center of this part: this arrangement is particularly suitable when you want to place the device on an electric cable;

[0018] - said magnet is placed in a cavity formed inside said device sound absorption, closed by at least one piece of synthetic foam: in addition to the fact that this piece of synthetic foam allows the cavity in which the permanent magnet is placed to be blocked, it contributes to improving sound absorption performance.

[0019] The present invention also relates to an electric cable equipped with at least one assembly in accordance with the above, said annular part and said magnet being threaded onto the cable.

[0020] Such an electric cable can thus easily be equipped with the assembly according to the invention, with a view to contributing to the acoustic absorption of vibrations emitted for example by a high-fidelity device.

[0021] According to an optional characteristic, this electric cable comprises a plurality of assemblies in accordance with the above, separated from each other by synthetic foam pieces threaded onto the cable.

[0022] Such an arrangement of annular sound absorption devices and synthetic foam pieces interposed between these devices makes it possible to obtain a cable particularly efficient electrical system from the point of view of sound absorption characteristics.

[0023] Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge on reading the description which follows, with reference to the appended figures, which illustrate:

[0024] [Fig-1]: A perspective view of a cut sound absorption panel in accordance with patent application FR1911193, provided in its center with a magnet according to the present invention;

[0025] [Fig.2]: a perspective view of a cut-off acoustic absorption foot in accordance with patent application FR 1911193, provided in its center with a magnet according to the present invention;

[0026] [Fig.3]: a sectional view of an electric cable equipped with an acoustic absorption assembly according to the present invention; and

[0027] [Fig.4]: perspective views of different sockets that can be associated with the electric cable of [Fig.3].

[0028] For clarity, identical or similar elements are identified by identical or similar reference signs throughout the figures.

[0029] Referring to [Fig.l], we can see an acoustic absorption panel 1 in accordance with patent application FR1911193.

[0030] As taught by this patent application, this panel 1 typically comprises a honeycomb structure 3 taken between two plates 5a, 5b, the assembly being reinforced by a protective belt 9.

[0031] The cells 3 are under vacuum, and partially filled with a powdery material such as sand, or with a pasty or liquid material.

[0032] This acoustic absorption panel 1 comprises substantially in its center a cylindrical cavity 11 opening out on either side of the panel, and receiving a permanent magnet of corresponding shape 13.

[0033] Preferably, as shown, this magnet 13 has an annular or sleeve shape, that is to say it is provided with a hole 15 in its center.

[0034] On either side of this magnet 13 are arranged inside the cavity 11 of the panel 1 synthetic foam discs 17a, 17b, making it possible to close this cavity 11 and to protect the magnet 13.

[0035] Glue may be provided to hold the magnet 13 and the foam discs 17a, 17b inside the cavity 11.

[0036] It can be provided, as shown in [Fig.l], that the cavity 11 formed inside the acoustic absorption panel 1 opens onto the outside through an orifice 19 of reduced size on the side opposite that 21 through which the magnet 13 and the foam discs 17a, 17b can be inserted inside the cavity 11.

[0037] The magnet 13 is a permanent magnet, preferably a neodymium magnet, partic- highly powerful and available on the market at a relatively low price.

[0038] In [Fig. 2], there is shown an acoustic absorption assembly according to the invention taking the form of a cylindrical foot 21, which can be placed between the panel 1 previously described and a table, in order to support for example a set of high-fidelity acoustic devices.

[0039] As for the panel previously described, this foot 22 comprises a honeycomb structure 3 taken between two skins 5a, 5b, and a cavity 11 receiving an annular permanent magnet 13, this cavity 11 being closed by at least one synthetic foam disc 17.

[0040] In [Fig. 3], an electric cable 23 is shown, which may be a power supply cable, or a low current cable, or an audio cable, onto which are threaded in alternating manner synthetic foam discs 17a to 17f and annular acoustic absorption elements 24a to 24d.

[0041] These annular sound absorption elements 24a to 24d each comprise an annular part 25a to 25d formed of a honeycomb structure 3 taken between two skins 5a, 5b like the panel 1 and the foot 22 described previously, and an annular magnet 13a to 13c placed inside a cavity 11 formed in this annular part.

[0042] The synthetic foam discs 17a to 17f and the annular sound-absorbing elements 24a to 24d can thus be threaded onto the electric cable 23 in the manner of beads.

[0043] [Fig.4] illustrates different electrical sockets that can be connected to the electrical cable 23 of [Fig.3]: power sockets 4a and 4b, or audio sockets of the male XLR type 4c or female 4d.

[0044] The acoustic assembly according to the present invention, combining an acoustic absorption device as taught by patent application FR1911193 with at least one permanent magnet 13 housed inside this device, makes it possible to increase the benefits already observed with this device: the absorption of acoustic vibrations is increased, thus eliminating any acoustic vibration likely to harm the sound quality, in particular in an environment of high-fidelity devices.

[0045] Music lovers who are sensitive to perfect sound reproduction of music have been able to observe the incredible sound quality obtained thanks to the present invention.

[0046] Naturally, the invention is described in the above by way of example. It is understood that those skilled in the art are able to carry out different variant embodiments of the invention without departing from the scope of the invention.

[0047] For example, it is possible to envisage placing the permanent magnet not inside a cavity formed in the acoustic absorption device, but adjacent to it, or even in contact with it: fairly satisfactory results are obtained.
