Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Method and device for controlling a set of systems of a vehicle Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to methods and devices for controlling a set of systems of a vehicle, in particular but not exclusively in a motor vehicle. The present invention also relates to a method and a device for controlling a set of systems of a vehicle as a function of data from a road environment of the vehicle. Technological background
[0002] Contemporary vehicles are equipped with one or more display devices for displaying information useful to the driver for driving the vehicle as well as comfort information, such as for example information for interacting with the infotainment system, also called IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) system, of the vehicle. Contemporary vehicles are also equipped with an on-board audio system to enhance vehicle journeys and offer the driver and / or passengers of the vehicle the possibility of listening to any recorded or broadcast audio content. An on-board audio system in a vehicle generally comprises a head unit, an amplifier and one or more loudspeaker enclosures.
[0003] Wallpapers are sometimes used to generate a specific atmosphere in the vehicle, for example to provide a specific atmosphere in the vehicle's interior.
[0004] Some vehicles are also equipped with ambient lighting in the passenger compartment, for example using LEDs (from the English “Light-Emitting Diode” or “electroluminescent diode” in French).
[0005] Some vehicles also offer the broadcasting of audio content in the passenger compartment to create a sound ambiance in the passenger compartment of the vehicle, for example according to the mood or desire of the driver who can choose from a list of sound ambiance content.
[0006] While it is possible to personalize certain parameters of the ambient lighting (for example the color of the screen background or the color of the LEDs) or the sound ambiance, the personalization nevertheless requires the attention of the driver, reducing his vigilance at the wheel of the vehicle. Summary of the present invention
[0007] An object of the present invention is to solve at least one of the problems of the technological background described above.
[0008] Another object of the present invention is to improve the user experience for the customization of parameters of systems embedded in a vehicle, in particular according to driving conditions in a given road environment.
[0009] Another object of the present invention is to improve road safety.
[0010] According to a first aspect, the present invention relates to a method for controlling a set of systems of a vehicle, the vehicle having a human-machine interface, called HMI, the method comprising the following steps: - receiving map data of a road environment along a portion of a route downstream of a current vehicle position; - classification of driving conditions in the road environment determined from map data; - determination of information representative of a duration separating the vehicle from the road environment based on the current position and cartographic data; - adjustment of at least one parameter of at least one system of the set of systems based on a result of the classification and information representative of the duration; and - control of at least one system of the vehicle as a function of at least one parameter.
[0011] Taking into account the road environment downstream of a current position of the vehicle from map data for the control of vehicle systems makes it possible to adapt the different systems on board the vehicle as a function of the type of road environment by adjusting their parameters. The adjustment of these parameters is automatic, thus requiring no action on the part of a user during a driving phase.
[0012] For example, the visual and / or sound content rendered in the vehicle is thus better suited to the vehicle's environment, making it possible, for example, to improve the driver's ability to understand the environment in which he is traveling.
[0013] According to a method variant, the adjustment of the at least one parameter corresponds to a variation of the at least one parameter from a current value to a target value following a monotonic and continuous function over the duration.
[0014] The adjustment of the parameters of the systems on board the vehicle is thus progressive, the driver or a passenger therefore does not feel any sudden variation in these parameters.
[0015] According to another method variant, the target value of the at least one parameter corresponds to a determined value associated with a class of driving conditions obtained from the classification and recorded in a memory of the vehicle.
[0016] The target values of the different parameters are thus adapted to a class or type of driving conditions.
[0017] According to an additional variant, the method further comprises a step of selecting at least one parameter from a list of parameters as a function of: - a priority level associated with each parameter in the list, and / or - a probability that a measured quantity corresponding to at least one parameter reaches the target value at the end of the duration.
[0018] Since not all functions can be configured before reaching the road environment, these are prioritized.
[0019] According to another method variant, an alert is rendered in a determined content of said HMI.
[0020] This alert informs the driver of the driving conditions he will encounter in order to prepare for them.
[0021] According to another method variant, the at least one system of the vehicle belongs to a set of systems comprising: - a passenger compartment lighting system, - an audio system comprising at least one loudspeaker, - a display system comprising at least one display device, - a ventilation and / or air conditioning system, - a temperature control system for a seat or steering wheel, - a speed regulation system, - a suspension control system, and - an engine stop and restart system.
[0022] Such systems contribute to the comfort of the driver and passengers as well as the ease of driving the vehicle.
[0023] According to yet another method variant, the at least one system is selected via the HMI.
[0024] A user is thus able to select the on-board systems of the vehicle which will be controlled.
[0025] According to a second aspect, the present invention relates to a device for controlling a set of systems of a vehicle, the device comprising a memory associated with a processor configured for implementing the steps of the method according to the first aspect of the present invention.
[0026] According to a third aspect, the present invention relates to a vehicle, for example of the automobile type, comprising a device as described above according to the second aspect of the present invention.
[0027] According to a fourth aspect, the present invention relates to a computer program which comprises instructions adapted for the execution of the steps of the method according to the first aspect of the present invention, in particular when the computer program is executed by at least one processor.
[0028] Such a computer program may use any programming language, and be in the form of source code, object code, or intermediate code between source code and object code, such as in a partially compiled form, or in any other desirable form.
[0029] According to a fifth aspect, the present invention relates to a computer-readable recording medium on which is recorded a computer program comprising instructions for carrying out the steps of the method according to the first aspect of the present invention.
[0030] On the one hand, the recording medium may be any entity or device capable of storing the program. For example, the medium may comprise a storage means, such as a ROM memory, a CD-ROM or a microelectronic circuit type ROM memory, or a magnetic recording means or a hard disk.
[0031] Furthermore, this recording medium may also be a transmissible medium such as an electrical or optical signal, such a signal being able to be conveyed via an electrical or optical cable, by conventional or hertzian radio or by self-directed laser beam or by other means. The computer program according to the present invention may in particular be downloaded from an Internet-type network.
[0032] Alternatively, the recording medium may be an integrated circuit in which the computer program is incorporated, the integrated circuit being adapted to perform or to be used in performing the method in question. Brief description of the figures

[0036] [Fig.3] illustrates a flowchart of the different steps of a method for controlling a set of systems of the vehicle of [Fig.l], according to a particular and non-limiting exemplary embodiment of the present invention.
[0037] Description of the examples of embodiment
[0038] A method and device for controlling a set of systems of a vehicle will now be described in the following with reference to Figures 1 to 3. The same elements are identified with the same reference signs throughout the description which follows.
[0039] The terms "first(s)", "second(s)" (or "first(s)", "second(s)"), etc. are used in this document by arbitrary convention to enable different elements (such as operations, means, etc.) implemented in the embodiments described below to be identified and distinguished. Such elements may be distinct or correspond to a single element, depending on the embodiment.
[0040] According to a particular and non-limiting example of embodiment of the present invention, the control of a set of systems of a vehicle incorporating a human-machine interface, comprises the reception of cartographic data of a road environment along a part of a route downstream of a current position of the vehicle and the classification of driving conditions in this road environment determined from the cartographic data.
[0041] Information representative of a duration separating the vehicle from the road environment is then determined as a function of the current position and the cartographic data and at least one parameter of at least one system of the set of systems is adjusted as a function of a result of the classification and the information representative of the duration.
[0042] At least one system of the vehicle is controlled according to at least one parameter.
[0043] [Fig.l] schematically illustrates a part of the passenger compartment of a vehicle 10, according to a particular and non-limiting example of embodiment of the present invention.
[0044] The vehicle 10 corresponds for example to a vehicle with a thermal engine, with electric motor(s) or even a hybrid vehicle with a thermal engine and one or more electric motors. The vehicle 10 thus corresponds for example to a land vehicle comprising a passenger compartment or at least equipped with a display screen, for example an automobile, a truck, a bus, a motorcycle.
[0045] The vehicle 10 advantageously incorporates a human-machine interface, known as HMI.
[0046] According to a particular embodiment, the vehicle 10 also carries a display or lighting system comprising one or more display or lighting devices, for example corresponding to one or more of the following display devices, in any combination: - one or more screens such as for example a screen 13 with a touch interface and a computer configured to control the display of content(s) of a graphical HMI on the touch screen 13; and / or - a display screen 12 corresponding for example to a transparent or semi-transparent blade 12, for example arranged on top of the dashboard 11 in front of the windshield of the electric vehicle 10. The transparent blade 12 is for example arranged behind the steering wheel 14, according to the point of view of a driver installed in the driver's seat 15, in such a way that the driver sees the content displayed or projected on the transparent blade 12 when the driver is driving the vehicle 10. The transparent blade 12 thus corresponds to an element of a device or system called a head-up display. The projection of the images of the graphic object is for example controlled by one or more computers of the on-board system of the vehicle 10, for example by the computer controlling the display system(s) such as the computer of the infotainment system, called the IVI computer (from the English "In-Vehicle Infotainment" or in French "Infodivertissement monté"). The connection between the computer and the head-up display device corresponds for example to a connection of the LVDS type (from the English "Low Voltage Differential Signaling" or in French "Transmission différerelle basse-tension"); and / or - an arrangement of LEDs comprising, for example, several LEDs arranged in the form of an LED matrix and / or in the form of one or more lines or strips of LEDs.
[0047] The vehicle 10 for example furthermore has one or more loudspeakers 16 arranged in the passenger compartment, for example at the front and rear of the passenger compartment for rendering sound content with any sound effect using the spatial distribution of the loudspeakers in the passenger compartment of the vehicle 10.
[0048] The loudspeakers 16 belong to an audio and / or multimedia system of the vehicle 10 configured for the rendering of sound content, for example music or ambient sound.
[0049] An audio system on board a vehicle comprises, for example: - a head unit, generally placed on the dashboard; a head unit combines several functions, such as controlling the overall volume of the system and controlling different audio sources in a vehicle: car radio, multimedia player such as an MP3 player or a smartphone (or in French "intelligent telephone"), USB reader (from the English "Universal Serial Bus" or "Universal Serial Bus" in French), data storage device integrated into the audio system, etc.; control is advantageously carried out via a user interface, for example via a touch screen and / or by issuing voice commands; - an audio amplifier corresponding to an electronic amplifier configured to amplify an audio electrical signal in order to obtain sufficient power to vibrate one or more loudspeakers and generate sounds corresponding to the audio or sound signal to be reproduced; and - the speaker(s) 16.
[0050] The audio system of the vehicle 10 is configured to render any type of audio or sound content, for example content received by radio waves, content received according to a streaming mode, audio content recorded in a memory in any known coding format, content generated by algorithmic composition (such content being called algorithmic music, generative music or procedural music), content composed from a set of audio samples (called "samples" in English) by assembling or composing these samples (or "sampling" in English).
[0051] The computers controlling the display system(s) (such as the infotainment system computer, called IVI computer), the audio system and / or the environmental data acquisition device(s) form, for example, a multiplexed architecture for the implementation of various services useful for the proper functioning of the vehicle and for the generation of a visual (particularly light) and / or sound ambiance in the vehicle 10.The computers communicate and exchange data with each other via one or more computer buses, for example a communication bus of the data bus type CAN (from the English "Controller Area Network" or in French "Réseau de contrôles"), CAN FD (from the English "Controller Area Network Flexible Data-Rate" or in French "Réseau de contrôles à débit de données flexible"), FlexRay (according to the ISO 17458 standard), LIN (from the English "Local Interconnect Network" or in French "Réseau interconnecté local") or Ethernet (according to the ISO / IEC 802-3 standard).
[0052] According to a particular embodiment, the vehicle 10 advantageously incorporates one or more driving assistance systems, called AD AS systems (from the English “Advanced Driver Assistance Systems”). These passive and active safety systems make it possible in particular to eliminate the part of human error in the driving of the vehicle 10. The AD AS systems use advanced technologies to assist the driver during driving and thus improve his performance.
[0053] AD AS use for example a combination of sensor technologies to perceive the world around the vehicle, for example cameras, radar (from the English "Radio Detection And Ranging") capable of detecting objects and measuring a distance separating the object from the vehicle 10 by radio waves or lidar (from the English "Light Detection And Ranging") using light waves, then provide information to the driver via the HMI or take measures if necessary.
[0054] The vehicle 10 for example carries one or more AD AS systems belonging to a set of AD AS systems comprising: - a navigation and geolocation system, also called a GNSS system (Geolocation and Navigation by a Satellite System), for example a GPS type system (from the English “Global Positioning System” or in French “Geo-positioning system by satellites”), - an ISA system (from the English “Intelligent Speed Adaptation” or in French "intelligent speed adaptation"), - an SLI system (from the English “Speed Limitation Indication” or in French "Speed limit indication"), - an ETSR system (from the English “Extended Traffic Sign Recognition”), - an ACC system (from the English “Adaptive Cruise Control”) or P-ACC system (from the English “Predictive-Adaptive Cruise Control”), - an ISA (Intelligent Speed Adaptation) or CSA (Curve Speed Assist) system, - an ESC system (from the English “Electronic Stability Control” or in French "Electronic Stability Control"), DSC (from the English "Dynamic Stability Control" or in French "Dynamic Stability Control") or ESP (from the English "Electronic Stability Program" or in French "Electronic Stability Program"), - an LKA (Lane-Keeping Assist) and / or LPA (Lane Positioning Assist) and / or SALC (Semi Automatic Lane Change) system, - a suspension control system called active suspension, - a system for stopping and restarting an engine (in English “Stop and Start”).
[0055] According to a particular embodiment, the vehicle 10 has one or more systems or elements making it possible to manage the comfort of occupants of the passenger compartment of the vehicle 10. Such a system comprises, for example: - heated and / or cooled seats, - massage seats, - a heated and / or cooled steering wheel, - a ventilation or air conditioning system.
[0056] A process for controlling a set of systems of the vehicle 10 is advantageously implemented by one or more devices on board the vehicle 10, for example by one or more computers of an on-board system of the vehicle 10.
[0057] According to a variant, the process is implemented by a system comprising the computer(s) and one or more other devices or systems embedded in the vehicle 10, for example one or more geolocation data acquisition devices. vehicle calibration 10, one or more display devices 13 and / or one or more speakers 16.
[0058] In a first operation, map data of a road environment along a portion of a route downstream of a current position of the vehicle is received.
[0059] Such data is for example received from a geolocation system on board the vehicle 10, the mapping being recorded in a memory of a computer.
[0060] The map data is, according to another example, received from a remote communication device connected to the on-board system of the vehicle 10, for example via a wireless link.
[0061] These cartographic data include, for example, representative information: - a type of road, - a number of tracks, - of a type of environment, - traffic density, - atmospheric conditions, and / or - brightness.
[0062] The type of road is for example a country road, a road with restricted access, a road located in a meeting area. For example, speed limits are different there.
[0063] The type of environment corresponds for example to an urban, mixed or extra-urban type.
[0064] Atmospheric conditions are, for example, weather conditions, indicating the presence of snow, fog, rain or sun.
[0065] Brightness is for example associated with a tree-lined section of road or crossing a tunnel.
[0066] In a second operation, driving conditions in the road environment are determined from the map data.
[0067] These driving conditions are for example determined by comparing certain information from the cartographic data with reference information in order to then be classified or ranked.
[0068] The different classes are, according to a first example, defined in the factory by the manufacturer of the vehicle 10 or of the device in charge of this process.
[0069] According to a second example, the classes are defined by a user, through i'ihm.
[0070] The classes are for example defined in the following non-exhaustive list: - daytime travel in an urban environment in heavy traffic, - nighttime travel in an urban environment in moderate traffic, - travel in the rain on a motorway in heavy traffic, - travel in a low-traffic rural environment, - travel in an area with poor visibility.
[0071] In a third operation, information representative of a duration separating the vehicle 10 from the road environment is determined as a function of the current position and the cartographic data.
[0072] This duration is for example obtained from a navigation system comprising the planned route of the vehicle 10 and is equal to a travel time.
[0073] This travel time is defined, for example, from the distances of different sections or parts of roads and average speeds on these sections, obtained from data stored for example in the map.
[0074] This duration is for example expressed in seconds or minutes, for example 30s, 1min or 5min.
[0075] In a fourth operation, at least one parameter of at least one system of the set of systems is adjusted as a function of a result of the classification and as a function of the information representative of the duration.
[0076] The at least one system is for example selected by a user via the HMI. It is in particular associated with certain characteristics relating to the driving conditions or to certain classes of driving conditions. For example, an audio system is concerned and its parameters adjusted according to a traffic density or according to speeds associated with the road environment, while an air conditioning system is concerned when the class of driving conditions includes information relating to an outside temperature, a level of sunshine or even a traffic density.
[0077] Adjusting a parameter therefore consists of varying its value from a current value to a target value, the target value being defined as ideal in the classified or classified driving conditions.
[0078] The target value is for example recorded in a memory of a device of the vehicle 10, defined in the factory, or entered by a user via the HMI. For example, different target values are defined for different parameters in tables depending on the different classes and the remaining time.
[0079] According to another particular exemplary embodiment, the target value is for example determined by a computer of the system to be controlled as a function of a result of the classification and as a function of the information representative of the duration.
[0080] According to a particular embodiment, the adjustment of the at least one parameter corresponds to a variation of this parameter from a current value to a target value. following a monotonic and continuous function for the previously determined duration. This monotonic and continuous variation avoids any sudden variation of a parameter, thus the system settings vary smoothly. The driver thus barely notices the change in the parameters of the system to be controlled, and is not distracted while driving.
[0081] The number of parameters to be controlled depends on the number of systems to be controlled and the number of parameters for each system. Thus, a system regulating the temperature of a seat 15 has only one parameter and three or four target values defining the electrical power sent to a resistor incorporated in the steering wheel 14 or in the seat cushion 15, whereas a system for regulating air conditioning has several parameters such as ventilation speeds, energy supplied to a compressor, valve openings and vent directions.
[0082] In a fifth operation, at least one parameter is selected from a list of parameters according to a priority level associated with each parameter in the list, and / or a probability that a measured quantity corresponding to at least one parameter reaches the target value at the end of the duration.
[0083] For example, in the case of the air conditioning control system, if the target temperature, i.e. the temperature to be reached in the passenger compartment before the vehicle 10 arrives in the road environment, is too far from the current temperature in the passenger compartment of the vehicle 10, then the process does not modify the parameter associated with the temperature or assigns to this parameter a value between the target value and the current value. In order to compensate for the failure to reach the target value of this parameter, a second parameter is prioritized, for example a parameter of the audio system. Indeed, if the aim is to relax the driver before he arrives in a difficult road environment by adapting the temperature of the passenger compartment but it is impossible to do so before arriving in this difficult road environment, then it is for example the audio system which is controlled in order to broadcast music which relaxes the driver of the vehicle 10.The audio system settings then take priority over the climate control system settings.
[0084] According to a particular embodiment, in a sixth operation, an alert is rendered in a determined content of the HMI. This alert is for example a message displayed on the screen 13 warning the driver of the vehicle 10 that he will soon encounter driving conditions of a certain class.
[0085] Optionally, the message is accompanied by advice for the driver of the vehicle 10 so that he has time to memorize it or take it into consideration before arriving in this road environment.
[0086] In a seventh operation, at least one system of the vehicle 10 is controlled in function of the parameters whose values have been previously defined.
[0087] Thus, the user experience is greatly improved, one or more on-board systems of the vehicle 10 have been automatically controlled to adapt to the classified or classified driving conditions encountered in a road environment, and thus best prepare the vehicle 10 or the driver so that this road environment is approached with serenity.
[0088] In addition, the driver did not have to modify certain on-board system parameters when approaching this road environment, and was then able to concentrate fully on driving.
[0089] [Fig.2] schematically illustrates a device 2 configured to control a set of systems of a vehicle, for example of the vehicle 10, according to a particular and non-limiting exemplary embodiment of the present invention. The device 2 corresponds for example to a device on board the vehicle 10, for example a computer.

Examples of such a device 2 include, but are not limited to, on-board electronic equipment such as an on-board computer of a vehicle, an electronic calculator such as an ECU (“Electronic Control Unit”), a smartphone, a tablet, a laptop. The elements of the device 2, individually or in combination, can be integrated into a single integrated circuit, into several integrated circuits, and / or into discrete components. The device 2 can be produced in the form of electronic circuits or software (or computer) modules or even a combination of electronic circuits and software modules.
[0091] The device 2 comprises one (or more) processor(s) 20 configured to execute instructions for carrying out the steps of the method and / or for executing the instructions of the software(s) embedded in the device 2. The processor 20 may include integrated memory, an input / output interface, and various circuits known to those skilled in the art. [0092] The computer code of the embedded software(s) comprising the instructions to be loaded and executed by the processor is for example stored in the memory 21.
[0093] According to various particular embodiments, the device 2 is coupled in communication with other similar devices or systems and / or with devices communication, for example a TCU (Telematic Control Unit), for example via a communication bus or through dedicated input / output ports.
[0094] According to a particular and non-limiting embodiment, the device 2 comprises a block 22 of interface elements for communicating with external devices, for example a remote server or the “cloud”, other nodes of the ad hoc network. The interface elements of the block 32 comprise one or more of the following interfaces: - RF radio frequency interface, for example Bluetooth® or Wi-Fi®, LTE (Long-Term Evolution), LTE-Advanced; - USB interface (from the English “Universal Serial Bus” or “Universal Serial Bus” in French); - HDMI interface (from the English “High Definition Multimedia Interface” or “High Definition Multimedia Interface” in French); - LIN interface (from the English “Local Interconnect Network”).
[0095] According to another particular embodiment, the device 2 comprises a communication interface 23 which makes it possible to establish communication with other devices (such as other computers of the on-board system) via a communication channel 230. [0096] According to an additional particular embodiment, the device 2 can provide output signals to one or more external devices, such as a display screen 240, one or more speakers 250 and / or other peripherals 260 (projection system) via output interfaces 24, 25 and 26 respectively. According to a variant, one or other of the external devices is integrated into the device 2.
