Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Bottle made from recyclable materials FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to a bottle made from recyclable materials, in particular other than glass. The bottle is in the form of a rigid shell receiving a flexible pouch.
[0002] This bottle is a container intended to receive food or non-food liquids.
[0003] The term "bottle" according to the present invention encompasses all forms of container preferably imitating the traditional form, having a cylindrical body ending in the upper part with a neck connected to the body by a transitional zone forming the shoulder and receiving a closure member in the form in particular of a capsule screwed onto the neck. STATE OF THE ART
[0004] Containers are known made of materials more economical than glass, formed from a rigid shell corresponding to the shape of a bottle and the cavity of which is occupied by a flexible, leak-proof pocket, receiving the liquid or, more generally, the fluid or pasty product, packaged in the bottle for example according to document US 4,256,231.
[0005] But, in general, these bottles, flasks or others are made from combinations of materials that are difficult to separate for recycling and therefore ultimately not recyclable.
[0006] PURPOSE OF THE INVENTION
[0007] The present invention aims to develop a bottle resembling a glass bottle, but made of recyclable materials or materials, easily separable and usable like traditional bottles in filling and packaging installations, bottling lines, crates or transport racks.
[0008] DISCLOSURE AND ADVANTAGES OF THE INVENTION
[0009] To this end, the invention relates to a bottle (100) made of recyclable material, composed of a rigid shell receiving a flexible pocket delimiting the sealed volume of the bottle,
[0010] bottle characterized in that
[0011] the rigid shell is formed by a body and a head,
[0012] a. the body is composed of a sleeve having a lower end closed by a bottom and an upper end,
[0013] b. the head shaped like a neck and shoulder fixed to the upper edge of the body is provided with an internal extension to which the mouth of the pocket is fixed.
[0014] Such a bottle is particularly simple to manufacture since it is composed of separate, easily assembled elements, namely the body of the bottle with its base, preferably fitted, and the head consisting of a part shaped like a shoulder and a neck; this part can be produced by molding / injection in a recyclable plastic material. The head receives the flexible bag and thus constitutes an assembly which fits into the body and is fixed to it by the lower edge of the head. The simplicity of recycling results from this structure of the bottle.
[0015] According to one characteristic, the head is composed of a skirt forming the shoulder integral with an upper sleeve forming the neck, terminated by a neck provided with a thread receiving a capsule and the upper sleeve forming the neck continues in the skirt by an internal extension to which the mouth of the flexible pocket is fixed.
[0016] This particularly simple embodiment constitutes a rigid assembly which cooperates with the body of the bottle to ensure its shape regardless of the external forces exerted on the bottle.
[0017] According to another characteristic, the head is composed of a skirt forming the shoulder and fixed to the body and of an upper sleeve forming the neck and receiving an inner sleeve provided in the upper part with a thread for a capsule, the upper sleeve continuing in the skirt by an inner extension to receive the mouth of the flexible bag. The head can be held by the neck and the neck, without risk when the bottle is filled.
[0018] According to another characteristic, the skirt, the upper sleeve and the inner extension are joined by a joining crown. This head is easily assembled to the pocket, thus constituting a subassembly which is simple to manufacture and maneuver to assemble it to the body.
[0019] And in particular, the upper sleeve is bordered externally by a collar and the inner sleeve has a stop collar under its external thread to define and limit the insertion of the inner sleeve into the upper sleeve by bearing on the collar of the upper sleeve.
[0020] This embodiment is particularly advantageous for packaging certain liquids in the partially assembled bottle without the neck with the thread receiving the capsule being placed in the head. The capsule can thus be installed directly on the inner sleeve, in a tamper-proof manner and the assembly put in place after filling the bottle.
[0021] According to another characteristic, the upper sleeve is bordered externally by a collar and the inner sleeve has a stop collar under its external thread to define and limit its insertion into the upper sleeve. This collar facilitates the correct positioning of the inner sleeve.
[0022] According to another characteristic, the skirt, the upper sleeve and the inner extension are joined by a junction ring. This junction ring is constituted by a thickness of material at the Y-shaped junction of the upper sleeve with the skirt and the inner extension.
[0023] This junction stiffens the head and in particular it allows the bottle to be held by its neck without risk of deformation.
[0024] According to a particularly advantageous characteristic, the body and the bottom of the bottle are made of cardboard or a material similar to cardboard, the body is a cardboard sleeve, for example, of cylindrical shape with a circular or polygonal section and the bottom is a piece of stamped cardboard, which is fitted into the underside of the sleeve forming the body. This bottom is preferably fitted and glued to the body. This cardboard assembly is preferably assembled separately, before the head with its flexible pocket is placed on top of the sleeve.
[0025] According to another characteristic, the head, the capsule and the guarantee ring are made of polyethylene.
[0026] According to another characteristic, the bottle comprises a head composed of a skirt integral with an upper sleeve forming the neck and an inner sleeve having an upper, outer part, forming a neck terminated by a thread for a capsule, a lower part in the form of an extension coming into the head, the upper outer part and the extension being joined by a stop collar, the upper sleeve being engaged on the extension of the inner sleeve up to the stop collar and the extension ending in an assembly crown on which the flexible bag is fixed by its end piece.
[0027] According to another characteristic, the stop collar is a torus of triangular section forming by its side turned towards the upper sleeve of the head, a radial stop above the assembly crown of the inner sleeve to position the upper sleeve.
[0028] According to another advantageous characteristic, the upper sleeve has a thread and the assembly crown has a complementary thread or the upper sleeve is smooth and its assembly crown is smooth, the connection being made by a force assembly.
[0029] According to another advantageous characteristic, the assembly crown is ribbed and the end piece has a smooth surface for assembly by tight fitting.
[0030] According to another advantageous characteristic, the assembly crown for the tip of the pocket is ribbed and the tip has a smooth surface for assembly by tight fitting or the flexible pocket has a mouth provided with a end piece bordered below by a large surface collar fixed to the mouth and in the upper part, by a small gripping collar to facilitate the gripping of the bag by its end piece to fit it onto the inner sleeve.
[0031] According to another advantageous characteristic, the body and the base are made of cardboard and the head, the capsule and the guarantee ring are made of polyethylene.
[0032] The entire bottle thus made from recyclable materials is easily decomposable into its separately recyclable elements. Brief description of the drawings

[0050] DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION
[0051] According to figures 1A, 2A a first embodiment of the bottle 100a consists of a body surmounted by a head 2 to which is fixed a flexible pocket 3 housed in the body 1 and receiving the liquid.
[0052] The head 2 is composed of a skirt 21 forming the shoulder E joining an upper sleeve 22 forming the neck C. The upper part 221 of the sleeve 22 forms the neck G provided with a thread 222 and a collar 223, in particular a retaining collar.
[0053] The bottle 100a is closed by a cap 4 screwed onto the thread 222 and combined with a guarantee ring 5 covering the neck G under the thread and attaching to the collar 223.
[0054] The capsule 4 is detached from the ring 5 by unscrewing it, leaving in place the guarantee ring 5 retained by the collar 223.
[0055] In more detail, according to the sectional view of [Fig.2A], the body 1 is a cylindrical surface of circular section whose bottom 11 is closed by a fitted bottom 13 and the top receives the head 2.
[0056] The thread 222 of the neck G is terminated by a ring and below this a retaining collar 223 for the guarantee ring 5 combined with the capsule 4.
[0057] The capsule 4 has a thread 41 corresponding to the thread 222 of the neck and below its thread, the capsule 4 is combined with a guarantee ring 5 provided with claws or a hooking collar 51 to come under the retaining collar 223 of the neck G by screwing the capsule 4 onto the neck.
[0058] The upper sleeve 22 joins the base of the neck C which is a zone in the form of a junction crown 23 to which the skirt 21 is connected which ends below with an edge 211 with a recess forming a groove to engage and fix itself on the upper edge 12 of the body 1.
[0059] The upper sleeve 22 descends beyond the junction crown 23 in the skirt by an internal extension 224 projecting into the shoulder E (skirt) and receiving the mouth 31 of the flexible pocket 3.
[0060] The junction crown 23 has a reinforced section for holding the upper sleeve 22 at its meeting with the inner extension 24.
[0061] The junction crown 23 rises by its increased thickness up to the neck to form a step 231 by the reduction in thickness of its wall up to the thickness of the upper part 221 to ensure continuity at the level of the lower edge of the external surface of the ring 6.
[0062] The flexible pocket 3 is fixed to the inner extension 24 before the assembly of the head 2 to the body 1.
[0063] The base 13 can be fitted into the body 1 before or after the head 2 is put in place.
[0064] The body 1 is a cardboard sleeve, generally cylindrical in shape, with a circular section. But this shape of the body which corresponds to the most usual shape of bottles, particularly wine bottles, is not limiting. It can also be of shape cylindrical with rounded section (i.e. oval, elliptical) or polygonal, regular or irregular.
[0065] In this case, the base of the head 2 at the level of the shoulder E joining the edge 211 will have a shape adapted to the rounded or polygonal shape of the upper edge 12 of the body 1 to allow assembly, in particular by fitting.
[0066] Finally, the traditional, cylindrical bottle body can also be non-cylindrical while respecting a shape of its upper edge 12 so that this shape is compatible with the possible shape of the lower edge 211 of the skirt 21.
[0067] The top 2 is a molded / injected part, preferably made of polyethylene or other compatible plastic material, in particular biocompatible and recyclable.
[0068] Figures 1B, 2B show a second embodiment of the bottle 100b, the elements of which are similar or identical to those of the first embodiment will bear the same numerical references without an alphabetical suffix. The components which are similar, but not identical, will bear the same numerical reference, but followed by the suffix b.
[0069] The bottle 100b comprises a cylindrical body 1 of circular section, the underside of which is closed by a fitted bottom 13 as in the first embodiment. The upper edge 12 of the cylindrical body receives a head 2b which forms the shoulder E, the neck C and the neck G of the bottle.
[0070] The head 2b has an upper sleeve 22b which forms a stop collar 223b. The upper sleeve 22b receives an inner sleeve 25b forming the neck G. The inner sleeve 25b has a threaded end 251b for receiving the capsule 4 and a collar 252b for coming against the upper stop collar 225b when the inner sleeve 25 is engaged in the upper sleeve 22b forming part of the neck.
[0071] The upper sleeve 22b joins a rounded, flared skirt 21b forming the shoulder E and the neck C of the bottle. This skirt 21b ends in the lower part with an edge 211b with a groove-shaped recess to position itself on the upper edge 12 of the body 1 as in the first embodiment.
[0072] The upper sleeve 22b forming part of the neck and the skirt 21b join in a junction ring 23b. The upper sleeve 22b extends below the junction ring 23b by an internal extension 24b projecting into the skirt 21b and receiving the mouth 31 of the flexible pocket 3.
[0073] The inner sleeve 25 has a thicker wall than that of the upper sleeve 22 and thus reinforces the upper sleeve 22b, the junction crown 23b and the inner extension 24b to which the mouth 31 of the flexible pocket 3 is fixed.
[0074] The material of the inner sleeve 25 may be different from that of the head 2b, for example, depending on the liquid filling the bottle which is, for example, a liquid other than wine or a food liquid. The same applies to the quality of the material of the flexible pouch 3.
[0075] The inner sleeve 25b may also have a particular thread such as a safety thread for bottles receiving certain non-food liquids, detergent or other. The capsule 5 may, under these conditions, be assembled to the thread 251 by a tamper-evident type connection and constitute a combination (inner sleeve 25b + capsule 4) produced and assembled separately from the bottle to be connected to the bottle after it has been filled.
[0076] The collar 225b facilitates gripping the still open bottle (without its inner sleeve 25b and the capsule 4) for transport, handling and filling operations.
[0077] In this embodiment as in the previous embodiment, the body 1 is a cardboard cylinder, for example, of circular section. The fitted bottom 13 is, preferably, also a cardboard piece, shaped as a lid with a rim 131 to form the lip of the bottle. The fitted bottom 13 is, preferably, glued to the inside of the cylindrical body 1. The same is true of the head 2, the lower edge 211b of which covers the upper edge 12 of the body 1 by being glued to it.
[0078] The assembly of the upper sleeve 22b and the inner sleeve 25b is preferably glued.
[0079] The parts making up the head 2b, namely the skirt 21b, the upper sleeve 22b, the inner extension 24b and the inner sleeve 25b are preferably made of polyethylene. The same applies to the cap screwed onto the neck. The flexible pouch 3 is preferably also made of polyethylene.
[0080] [Fig.3] in its parts A, B, shows the comparative shape of the first and second embodiments of the top of the bottle 100a, 100b.
[0081] [Fig.4], in its parts A, B shows the sectional view of the head of the bottles to which the flexible bag 3 is fixed according to the first and second embodiment.
[0082] Figures 5, 6, 7, 8 show a third embodiment of bottle 100c, whose elements similar or identical to those of the first embodiment bear the same numerical references without an alphabetical suffix. The similar, but not identical, components bear the same numerical reference, but with the suffix (c).
[0083] The bottle 100c comprises a cylindrical body 1 of circular section, the bottom 11c of which is closed by a fitted bottom 13c retained by the edge 11c of the bottom 11c curved inwards to retain the bottom 13c.
[0084] The upper edge 12c of the cylindrical body receives a head 2c which forms the shoulder E and the neck C of the bottle.
[0085] The head 2c receives an inner sleeve 25c surmounting the head by a neck G ending with a thread receiving a cap 4c initially secured to a guarantee sleeve 5c.
[0086] The extension 254c of the sleeve 25c is engaged in the head 2c; it carries the end piece 32c of a flexible pocket 3c forming the deformable sealed volume.
[0087] [Fig.6] shows an embodiment of the cylindrical body 1 whose lower edge 11 forms, as already indicated, a folded edge 111 to hold the bottom 13c and at the same time form a jable to have a support crown (the folded edge 11c) regular and reinforced for the bottle in the upright position.
[0088] Before folding down the edge 1 le, it is advantageous to put a bead of glue in the angle formed under the underside of the bottom 13c and the edge 1 le not yet folded down. The folding down is simply done by machine by supporting the bottom 13c, the body le being, for example, in an upturned position relative to its upright position.
[0089] The upper edge 12c is preferably machined at a sharp angle, in particular with a rebate section.
[0090] The 100c bottle is produced by assembling sub-assemblies bringing together components produced separately.
[0091] Thus, the body 1c is assembled with its bottom 13c and the head 2c in which the inner sleeve 25c is engaged and fixed, the upper end of which receives, after filling, the capsule 4c with the guarantee sleeve 5c.
[0092] After assembling the head 2c of the inner sleeve 25c, the flexible pocket 2c is fitted by its end piece 32c onto the lower end of the inner sleeve 25c. The subassembly thus produced is assembled to the body 1e by joining the edge 21 1e of the head 2c to the upper edge 12c of the body 1e, the pocket 3c coming into the body 1e.
[0093] [Fig.7] shows the exploded view of the different components of the bottle 100c according to their arrangement along the zz axis of the bottle.
[0094] The detailed sectional view of [Fig.8] from the top of the bottle 100c highlights the subassemblies of the bottle 100c and their nesting to form a rigid assembly around the flexible bag 3c whose volume occupies the part of the body 1c when the bag is filled with liquid. The nesting of the components underlines the rigid structure obtained by the nature of the material of these and the specific static / mechanical characteristics.
[0095] The head 2c is composed of a skirt 21c with an upper sleeve 22c ending in an edge 226c and receiving the inner sleeve 25c forming the neck G. The skirt 21c, rounded, flared forming the shoulder E and the neck C of the bottle ends in the lower part by an edge 211c with a circular recess or groove to position itself on the upper edge 12c of the body 1 as in the first embodiment.
[0096] The inner sleeve 25c is composed of an outer part forming the neck G and receiving the cap 4c and the safety ring 5c as well as an inner part relative to the head 2c in the form of an extension 254c, joined by a junction zone 23c forming a stop collar 252c.
[0097] The outer part of the sleeve 25c is composed of a slightly truncated part joining the cylindrical part provided with the thread 2510 with, at its base, a sealing collar 253c for the safety ring 5c. This safety ring is a cylindrical sleeve extending the capsule 4c and comprising a lip 51c forming a stop notch under the retaining collar 253c to remain attached by its lip 51c after having been fitted onto the neck G. The capsule 4c separates from the ring 5c by shearing, by the simple rotation of the capsule 4c alone.
[0098] The stop collar 252c is a torus of triangular section forming a radial stop 2521 above an assembly crown 255c on which the upper sleeve 22c of the head 2c rises up to the radial stop 2521 to be fixed there, for example, by gluing; this junction zone 23c constitutes an annular reinforcement by the combination and superposition of the sleeve 22c and the extension 254c.
[0099] The lower end of the extension 254d forms an assembly crown 256c to which the end piece 32c is secured.
[0100] The section of [Fig.8] shows the flexible pocket 3c deployed.
[0101] The inner sleeve 25c may have a particular thread 2510 such as a thread safety for bottles containing certain non-food liquids, detergents or others. The capsule 4c is, under these conditions, assembled to the thread 2510 by a tamper-evident type connection.
[0102] The reinforcement constituted by the junction zone 23c facilitates the gripping of the open bottle (without the cap 4) for transport, handling and pouring operations.
[0103] In this embodiment as in the previous embodiments, the body 1 is a cardboard cylinder, for example, of circular section. The nested bottom 13c is, preferably, also a cardboard piece, glued to the inside of the cylindrical body 1c. The same applies to the head 2c, the lower edge 21c of which covers the upper edge 12c of the body 1c by being glued to it.
[0104] The assembly of the upper sleeve 22c and the inner sleeve 25c is preferably glued.
[0105] The parts making up the head 2c, namely the skirt 21c, the upper sleeve 22c and the inner sleeve 25c are preferably made of polyethylene. The same is true of the capsule 4c. The flexible pouch 3c is preferably also made of polyethylene.
[0106] Figures 6A and 8A show a sectional view of a 100cc bottle which is a variant of the 100c bottle of [Fig.6]; it differs by the elongation of the sleeve 25cc inner sleeve relative to the length of the 25cc inner sleeve of the third embodiment so as to be in relief relative to the edge 21c of the skirt 21c.
[0107] This elongation (S) facilitates the installation of the flexible bag 3c on the 256cc assembly crown. The other parts of the bottle have identical functions, which is why only the parts concerned by the elongation ô have separate references; for the same reasons, only a few parts repeated are referenced to facilitate the reading of figures 6A, 8A.
[0108] The bottom 13cc is, for example, fitted into the lower edge 1 Icc, right of the body Icc as in the bottles 100a; 100b.
[0109] [Fig.9] shows in top view (A) and in front view (B) a flattened flexible pouch 3c with an end piece 32c formed of a sleeve 321c secured to a flat crown 322c joined above the flexible pouch 3d. The top of the sleeve 321c is bordered by a small gripping crown 323c to facilitate the gripping of the end piece 32c to force it onto the assembly crown 256c of the extension 254c. The end piece 32c is provided with a temporary plug 324c. The pouch 3c completed by its end piece 32c is a component supplied assembled, flat. The pouch is placed by its end piece 32c on the assembly crown 256c, preferably automatically, with a machine.
[0110] [Fig. 10] shows different embodiments of the head 2c and two variants 2c-1 and 2c-2 of the same general shape but for a different assembly with the extension 254c of the inner sleeve 25c.
[0111] Part (A) of [Fig. 10] is a front view of the head 2c composed of the skirt 21c and its upper sleeve 22c with an edge 226c also called the edge of the head.
[0112] The edge 211c of the skirt 21c is provided with notches 212c (part D, [Fig. 10]) to reinforce its assembly to the upper edge 12c of the body 1c and block its rotation.
[0113] Part (B) of [Fig. 10] is a section along (AA) of part (A) (highlighting a first embodiment of the head 2c-1 whose edge 226c of the upper sleeve 22c has an internal thread 227c for screwing onto the thread of the assembly crown 255c of the extension 24c itself provided with a thread.
[0114] The lower edge 21 le of the skirt 21c has a circular groove 2110 for a tight fit with the edge 12c of the body 1e. The rebate 2110 has notches 2111 blocking the relative rotation of the skirt 21c with respect to the body 1e.
[0115] An example of notch 2111 shown has a triangular shape, one side of which is a ramp of slight inclination, of the order of 20° and the other side of this triangular shape is oriented practically radially and thus constitutes a stop notch.
[0116] Several such notches 2111 are distributed around the periphery of the circular groove 2110 of the skirt 21c.
[0117] The notches 2111 are made with the skirt 21c which is a molded or injected part.
[0118] Part (C) of [Fig. 10] shows a head 2c-2 whose edge 226c of the upper sleeve 22c is internally reinforced by ribs 228c. The shape of the edge 211c of the skirt 21d is the same as above.
[0119] [Fig. 11] shows an inner sleeve 25c-l having in the upper part an external thread 2510 for the capsule, followed by a sealing collar 253'c delimiting the thread and serving as a stop for screwing the capsule and a collar 253c for retaining the guarantee strip 51c.
[0120] The stop collar 252c overcomes a thread 2541 on the assembly crown 255c-l for screwing the skirt 21c.
[0121] Then, the extension 254c has an assembly ring 256c-l for fixing the end piece 32c of the pocket 3c. This ring 256-Id is constituted by retaining members, for example, ribs 2561 formed in the material and onto which the end piece 32c of the flexible pocket 3c is forcibly engaged.
[0122] The axial sectional view (AA) shows these different parts.
[0123] [Fig. 12] shows another embodiment of the inner sleeve 25c-2 having in the upper part a thread 2510 for the capsule, followed by two collars 253'c, 253c then below, the stop collar 252c and below this an assembly crown 255c-2 formed of a smooth surface 2552 for the force fitting of the upper sleeve 22c of the head 2c-2.
[0124] Under this smooth surface 2552, there is an assembly crown 256c-l formed of ribs 2561 for fixing the tip 32c of the head 2c-l as in the previous embodiment.
[0125] The axial sectional view BB associated with this front view shows the profile of the different parts described above.
[0126] In summary and in conclusion, the invention relates to a bottle 100 whose rigid shell is formed by a body 1 and a head 3, the body 1 is composed of a sleeve having a lower end closed by a bottom 13 and an upper end; the head 2 is shaped like a shoulder E, a neck C and assembled to the upper edge of the body 1; the flexible pocket 3 connected to the head 2 is housed in the body 1;
