Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Fixing member for a light module comprising a means for receiving a position adjustment device
[0001] The present invention relates to the fields of the automotive industry, mechanics and optics. It relates more specifically to a light module for a motor vehicle, comprising a support making it possible to adjust the position of the light module to adapt the orientation of the light beam projected onto the road by this light module.
[0002] Motor vehicles are equipped with light modules by which both lighting functions are implemented which aim to improve the visibility of the road scene for the driver of the vehicle and signaling functions which aim to make the driver's driving actions visible and / or to make the vehicle visible to other road users when the lighting functions are not implemented, in particular during the day. These lighting and signaling functions must meet regulatory standards, and in particular standards for the inclination of the light beam projected onto the road. The light module must thus adapt to the load of the vehicle or to the appearance of the road in real time to manage the lighting and signaling functions emitted while the vehicle is moving, in particular so as not to disturb and dazzle other road users.
[0003] These light modules are arranged within a headlight on the front of the motor vehicle and a position adjustment device housed in the headlight makes it possible to interact with the light module once it has been assembled in order, on the one hand, to adjust the standard position of the light module according to the manufacturing and assembly clearances and, on the other hand, to adjust the position of the light module while driving in accordance with what has been mentioned above.
[0004] It is thus known to mount the light module in a support which interacts with the position adjustment device. In particular, the support is fixed at three points on the housing of the projector with fixing capsules embedded on the support which cooperate with spherical heads of the position adjustment device housed in the projector. One of the spherical heads is mounted on a telescopic rod of an actuator and the fact of controlling the actuator to push or pull on the corresponding fixing capsule of the support generates a pivoting of the support, and therefore of the light module, around an axis passing through the center of the other two fixing capsules.
[0005] For example, when the position adjustment device is driven to push on the fixing capsule, the light module is tilted forward, which induces consequently a folding of the light beam emitted to ensure the lighting and / or signaling function and avoids potential glare of other users. Conversely, when the position adjustment device is controlled to pull on the fixing capsule, the light module is tilted backwards which has the effect of raising the trajectory of the beam and aiming for a greater lighting range.
[0006] The light module is mounted in the projector while the position adjustment device is already in position in the projector. An operator must then match the spherical heads with each of the fixing capsules, and in particular house the spherical head, arranged at the end of the telescopic rod of the actuator, in the fixing member, or fixing capsule, of the support intended to receive this spherical head. This assembly is carried out blindly and must be done slowly, to ensure that the spherical head is properly engaged in the fixing member without, however, excessively forcing the spherical head and risking damaging the telescopic rod of the actuator.
[0007] In this context, the invention aims to propose an alternative to this type of assembly, to simplify the work of the operator during blind assembly of the light module within the projector.
[0008] To this end, the invention relates to a fixing member for a light module configured to be mounted in a fixing zone of a support of said light module and to cooperate with a position adjustment device, characterized in that it comprises in one piece a means for holding the position adjustment device and a receiving zone for the position adjustment device capable of receiving the latter in a receiving direction, the receiving zone being arranged in the continuous extension of the holding means in a direction secant to the receiving direction.
[0009] The invention also relates to a light module comprising a housing configured to house at least one light source and optical elements, and a support for the housing, the support comprising several fixing members configured to allow pivoting of the light module around at least one pivot axis passing through a first and a second of said fixing members, the light module being able to cooperate with a device for adjusting the position of the light module, the light module being characterized in that a third of the fixing members, housed in a fixing zone of the support, comprises a means for holding the position adjustment device and a receiving zone for the position adjustment device able to receive the latter in a receiving direction, the receiving zone being arranged in the continuous extension of the holding means in a direction secant to the receiving direction.
[0010] By a direction secant to the receiving direction, we mean a direction perpendicular dicular to the direction of reception, or substantially perpendicular to this direction of reception. Indeed, the insertion of the light module according to the invention into a vehicle headlight is done for example by an operator, who will carry out a first insertion movement not necessarily strictly horizontal and orthogonal to the pivot axis of the support.
[0011] The light module according to the invention is intended to equip a motor vehicle and has the particularity of having a movable housing support, capable of pivoting the housing in which the light sources and the optical elements are housed, and which has an area configured to assist the blind mounting of the light module in a headlight of the motor vehicle. More particularly, the light module must be mounted in a headlight so as to make different points of the support, here called fixing members, cooperate with position adjustment elements present in the headlight at the time of mounting of the light module. These adjustment elements may in particular comprise two fixed pins, in particular with a spherical head, of shapes and dimensions complementary to the first and second fixing members taking the form of plastic capsules force-mounted on the support. They also include a position adjustment device, for example a dynamic or static actuator, which is controlled to push or pull on the third fixing member force-mounted on the support, the induced movement causing tilting around the axis formed by the other two fixing members. The dynamic or static actuator has a spherical head which must be housed in the corresponding third fixing member.
[0012] The support of the light module according to the invention is particular in that it has means allowing, when positioning the light module within the projector, to make it easier for the position adjustment device to cooperate in the third fixing member dedicated to it. For this purpose, the third fixing member, force-mounted on the support at the level of the fixing zone, comprises a receiving zone to facilitate the docking of the position adjustment device with the support and thus allow mounting of the position adjustment device in the holding means in two stages, with simplified docking which can be done blindly and then guiding from the receiving zone towards the holding means. Once the spherical head is inserted into the holding means, the position adjustment device is integral with the support and can push or pull it to adjust the angular position of the light module.
[0013] Thanks to the invention, the assembly of the light module in a projector is facilitated, the positioning of the position adjustment device in the support being mechanically assisted by the receiving zone which absorbs the position dispersions without the operator needing to force or observe a mounting precision which is very difficult to achieve. the blind. The invention therefore also saves time when assembling the light module in the projector.
[0014] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the receiving zone comprises a means for guiding the position adjustment device towards the holding means.
[0015] In other words, a guide means is arranged in the continuity of the receiving zone, between the latter and the holding means, to facilitate the engagement of the position adjustment device in the holding means. The guide means makes it possible to define a trajectory that is easy for an operator to give to the position adjustment device as soon as the latter comes into contact with the receiving zone of the third fixing member. The operation of assembling the position adjustment device in the support of the light module is thus facilitated since the operator does not have to fumble blindly to bring the position adjustment device into an appropriate position against the support, the presence of the receiving zone making it possible to simplify this docking, and since he does not have to fear that the position adjustment device will escape and not join the holding means.
[0016] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the receiving zone has a first passage section greater than a second passage section of the holding means, the guide means being configured to progressively reduce the first passage section so as to center the position of the end of the position adjustment device in the inlet of the holding means.
[0017] The passage sections are those through which the end of the position adjustment device passes, therefore intended to receive the spherical head at the end of the rod of this device. The receiving zone has a large passage section in order to leave a space large enough to receive the position adjustment device, and this passage section tends to reduce progressively as one approaches the holding means. The passage section of the holding means is reduced to correspond to the diameter of the spherical head of the position adjustment device and to ensure that the latter remains within the third fixing member once in position.
[0018] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the holding means has a slide shape along a slide axis, the receiving zone being arranged in the extension of the holding means along the slide axis.
[0019] As mentioned, the position adjustment device comprises a spherical head intended to be engaged with the fixing member which is the subject of the invention, the spherical head being mounted at the end of a rod. In this embodiment of the invention, the fixing member, here the third fixing member of the light module, comprises a housing in the form of a cylindrical slide extending along the slide axis and the cross-sectional dimensions of which correspond to the diameter of the spherical head of the position adjustment device. It is understood that the cylindrical slide is delimited by branches whose free ends tighten towards each other to retain the spherical head of the position adjustment device within the slide once it is installed, only the rod then being able to pass through the opening between the two branches. In this context, the configuration of the third fixing member, with the presence of the receiving zone and the guide means, makes it possible to insert the spherical head into the third fixing member without forcing it.
[0020] The receiving zone is arranged opposite an inlet of the cylindrical slide of the holding means along which the spherical head of the position adjustment device is intended to slide to accompany the pivoting movement in one direction or the other of the light module. The position adjustment device can thus slide in the same movement from the receiving zone to the center of the holding means.
[0021] Once the position adjustment device is associated with the third fixing member, the inclination of the light module can be modulated as a function of the force exerted by the spherical head of the position adjustment device against the body of the third fixing member in which it is engaged. In a first case, in particular when the vehicle is loaded, the rod is deployed and the spherical head pushes on the third fixing member, which has the effect of pivoting the light module around the pivot axis passing through the other two fixing members in a direction tending to direct the light beam towards the road in order to limit the risk of dazzling other users.Conversely, in a second case, the rod is retracted and the spherical head pulls on the third fixing member, which again has the effect of pivoting the light module around this pivot axis but this time to raise the trajectory of the light beam.
[0022] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the receiving zone is delimited at least in part by one or more curved walls which define a semi-circular profile. A rib forms for example a part of the semi-circular profile by drawing a curved wall which is locally interrupted. In this case, the wall delimiting the receiving zone is not continuous and has grooves, which tend to lighten the third fixing member, without however modifying the general profile of the curved delimitation of the receiving zone.
[0023] The semi-circular profile makes it possible to easily receive, when blindly inserting the light module into the projector, the spherical head of the end of the position adjustment device, the latter being able, if necessary, to slide without constraints along the curved wall by complementarity of shapes.
[0024] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the slide axis of the holding means is perpendicular to the pivot axis. The receiving zone opens by example in a plane parallel to the pivot axis and to the slide axis, the guide means being able to center the position of one end of the position adjustment device in an inlet of the holding means extending perpendicular to the slide axis.
[0025] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the receiving zone opens in a plane parallel to the pivot axis and to the slide axis, the guide means being able to center the position of one end of the position adjustment device in an inlet of the holding means extending perpendicular to the slide axis.
[0026] According to an optional characteristic of the invention, the third fixing member comprises a foot capable of being mounted tightly in a groove of the support.
[0027] The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising a light module according to the invention.
[0028] The invention finally relates to a method of assembling the light module according to the invention in a motor vehicle headlight, comprising at least the following steps, including a step of fixing the position adjustment device in the headlight, a step of inserting the light module in the headlight during which the receiving zone of the third fixing member is positioned in contact with the position adjustment device, then the light module is moved relative to the position adjustment device to bring the latter from the receiving zone to the holding means via the guide means.
[0029] In particular, the light module is inserted into the projector in the reception direction and then moved relative to the position adjustment device in a direction perpendicular to the reception direction.
[0030] The vehicle according to the invention and the assembly method according to the invention have advantages similar to those of the light module according to the invention.
[0031] Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description on the one hand, and from several exemplary embodiments given for informational and non-limiting purposes with reference to the attached schematic drawings on the other hand, in which:
[0032] [Fig-1] is a schematic view of a motor vehicle headlight, with a projector housing within which are housed adjustment elements intended to cooperate with a light module according to the invention shown in dotted lines, in one embodiment of the invention,

[0034] [Fig.3] shows a perspective view of a fixing member of the support of the [Fig.2],
[0035] [Fig.4] illustrates a detail of the support of [Fig.2], namely a fixing zone of the fixing member of [Fig.3],
[0036] [Fig.5] represents steps of an assembly method according to the invention of the module light of [Fig.2] in the projector of [Fig.l], according to an embodiment of the invention, and
[0037] [Fig.6] illustrates a step in the assembly process of [Fig.5], during which the light module of [Fig.2] is inserted into the projector of [Fig.l].
[0038] In the following description, a longitudinal direction corresponding to the direction of travel of the vehicle, a vertical direction corresponding to a direction perpendicular to the ground and a transverse direction corresponding to a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal and vertical directions are represented respectively by the longitudinal axis L, the vertical axis V and the transverse axis T of a trihedron (L, T, V) in the figures. A horizontal plane can be defined as being a plane perpendicular to the vertical axis V. In addition, the terms "lower", "lower", "higher" and "upper" must be considered in relation to the vertical direction V and the proximity to the ground.
[0039] A light module 1 according to the invention is integrated into a front headlight 100 of a motor vehicle illustrated schematically in [Fig. 1]. The headlight 100 comprises a casing 102 fixed to the body of the vehicle and which is configured to, on the one hand, house one or more light modules 1, here represented schematically by an envelope in dotted lines to make the bottom of the casing 102 visible, and on the other hand to house adjustment elements among which, as here visible in [Fig. 1], fixed points 104 intended to cooperate with a first and a second corresponding fixing members of the light module 1 and a position adjustment device 106 intended to cooperate with a third fixing member of the light module 1.
[0040] The light module 1 is configured to implement one or more light functions and it is associated with the position adjustment device 106 which makes it possible to modify the inclination of the light module 1 according to the driving conditions of the vehicle, in particular to lower or raise accordingly the light beam emitted by this light module 1. For example, in the event of a punctual overload of the vehicle equipped with the light module 1, it is possible to tilt the light module 1 within the headlight to bend the light beam towards the road and avoid dazzling the driver of a third-party vehicle. For this purpose, the position adjustment device 106 is here a dynamic actuator with a spherical head 108 at the end of a telescopic rod 110.
[0041] Each of the adjustment elements is arranged in the bottom of the casing 102 of the projector 100, to allow dynamic or static adjustment, for example in the workshop after assembly of the projector 100, and the light module 1 is mounted in the projector 100 while the adjustment elements are already in position relative to the bottom wall of the casing 102.
[0042] The light module 1 is particular in that it comprises a support 2, visible in [Fig.2], to allow the pivoting of the light module 1 around a pivot axis P. The support 2 is configured to allow easy mounting of the light module 1 in the projector 100, with a step of positioning the position adjustment device 106 in the support 2 of the light module 1 which is done blindly but in a simplified manner.
[0043] As shown in [Fig.2], the support 2 is configured to carry a housing 4, shown schematically in dotted lines, within which are arranged at least one light source and optical elements configured to generate a lighting or signaling light beam.
[0044] The support 2 here has the shape of a frame without this shape being limiting of the invention. The support 2 comprises in particular on an external face 16, arranged opposite the bottom wall of the casing 102, a first fixing member 8 and a second fixing member 10 capable of cooperating with the fixed adjustment elements 104 previously mentioned. Here, the first fixing member 8 is arranged in the lower left part of the support 2 seen from the front of the vehicle, and the second fixing member 10 is arranged in the lower right part of the support 2 seen from the front of the vehicle.
[0045] The first and second fixing members here have the form of a capsule, made of plastic for example, which is force-fitted into grooves of the support 2 forming corresponding fixing zones of the support 2. The first and second fixing members 8, 10 each comprise a cavity capable of receiving a spherical head of the corresponding fixed adjustment element 104. The cavities each have for this purpose an opening inscribed in a substantially vertical plane when the external face 16 of the support 2 is parallel to the bottom wall of the casing 102.
[0046] More precisely, the first fixing member 8 has a receiving cavity of spherical shape, that is to say of shapes and dimensions corresponding to those of the spherical head of the fixed point forming the corresponding fixed adjustment element 104, so as to form a ball joint connection between the support 2 of the light module 1 and this fixed adjustment element 104.
[0047] The second fixing member 10 has a receiving cavity in the form of a transversely oriented slide, so as to form a pivot connection. sliding with the corresponding fixed adjustment element 104. The attachment of the support 2 to the casing 102 via the first and second attachment members 8, 10 on the corresponding fixed adjustment elements 104 therefore allows the pivoting of the support 2 around the pivot axis P, oriented in the transverse direction T.
[0048] The first and second fixing members 8, 10 are clipped onto the corresponding fixed adjustment elements 104 after positioning the position adjustment device 106 in a third fixing member 6 of the support 2, this third fixing member 6 being arranged in another part of the support 2, here the upper left part of the support 2 seen from the front of the vehicle, and having a specific configuration to facilitate the assembly of the light module 1 in the casing 102 as explained below.
[0049] The third fixing member 6 thus takes the form of a fixing capsule, of a different shape from the first and second fixing members 8, 10. The third fixing member 6 is for example made of molded plastic. Although comprising several functional elements described below, this third fixing member 6 is in one piece, thus ensuring several functions in a fixing member which is assembled in one go on the support, without the support being modified to allow this plurality of functions.
[0050] As visible in Figures 2 and 3, the third fixing member 6 comprises in particular, in a single piece, a holding means 13, intended to cooperate with the associated position adjustment device when the support is mounted in the headlight, and a receiving zone 14, configured to guide this position adjustment device towards its position of cooperation with the holding means.
[0051] The receiving zone 14 formed by a substantially hemispherical receptacle opening onto a plane parallel to the transverse T and vertical V directions when the external face 16 of the support 2 is parallel to the bottom wall of the casing 102. The opening of this receptacle is more precisely perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to a receiving direction R, shown [Fig.6], of the spherical head 108 of the adjustment device in position 106 in the receiving zone 14. This opening has a semi-circular profile, formed by a curved wall 18.
[0052] In the illustrated example, the curved wall 18 is flared to facilitate reception of the head 108 of the position adjustment device 106.
[0053] The opening of the receiving zone 14 is intended to receive the spherical head 108 of the adjustment device in position 106, without requiring positioning precision during this reception. This opening of the receiving zone therefore has, in the receiving direction, a flared, truncated profile, with a passage section which tends to narrow as one approaches the support and a first passage section facing away from the support which has dimensions strictly greater than those of the spherical head 108 of the adjustment device in position 106.
[0054] The receiving zone 14 thus comprises a guide means 19 extending the semi-circular profile and forming a narrowing of the first passage section, up to an inlet of the holding means 13, here a cylindrical slide having a slide axis A, orthogonal to a horizontal plane when the external face 16 is parallel to the bottom wall of the casing 102, that is to say orthogonal to the pivot axis P and orthogonal or substantially orthogonal to the receiving direction R. The slide axis A and the pivot axis P intersect at the center of the first fixing member 8.
[0055] The holding means 13 is therefore capable of receiving the spherical head 108 of the position adjustment device 106 from the entrance of the slide, then of letting this spherical head 108 slide along the slide axis A, to a substantially central portion of the slide. For this purpose, the holding means 13 forming the cylindrical slide comprises two branches whose free ends tighten towards each other to retain the spherical head 108 of the position adjustment device 106 within the cylindrical slide, when this spherical head 108 is installed in the holding means 13, only the rod 110 then being able to pass through the opening between the two branches.
[0056] The inlet of the slide comprises a second passage section of diameter 24, strictly smaller than the diameter 22 of the first passage section of the opening of the receiving zone 14. The receiving zone 14 comprising the guide means 19 therefore forms an angled neck whose inlet proximal to the curved wall 18, which forms the semi-circular profile, has the first passage section of diameter 22, parallel to the external face 16, and whose outlet at the inlet of the holding means 13, has the second passage section of diameter 24, perpendicular to the slide axis A. The guide means 19 is thus able to center the position of the spherical head 108 of the position adjustment device 106 in the inlet of the holding means 13.
[0057] The third fixing member 6 also comprises a foot 21 allowing it to be secured to the external face 16 of the support 2. More precisely, as visible in [Fig.4], an upper end portion of the external face 16 comprises a groove 122 in which the foot 21 is force-mounted. This groove 122 is located in a fixing zone 12 of the third fixing member 6 of the support 2.
[0058] This fixing zone 12 forms a cavity capable of housing the third fixing member 6, so that the opening between the branches of the cylindrical slide formed by the holding means 13, as well as the opening of the receiving zone 14, are in the same plane as the openings of the first and second fixing members. fixing 8, 10.
[0059] The correct positioning of the third fixing member 6 on the support 2 is ensured in particular by two ribs 23 located in the fixing zone 12 on either side of the groove 122. These two ribs 23, slightly set back from the groove 122 in the transverse direction T, are capable of positioning the slide axis A of the holding means 13 parallel to a main direction of the groove 122, orthogonal to the pivot axis P and parallel to the plane in which the openings of the first and second fixing members 8, 10 are inscribed.
[0060] Two other ribs 26, positioned on each of the ribs 23, come into contact with projecting elements of each of the branches of the cylindrical slide and allow them to be positioned more precisely so that they open in the same plane as the openings of the first and second fixing members 8, 10. These projecting elements take the form of fins, on either side of the branches of the cylindrical slide of the holding means 13, and are visible [Fig. 3]. These fins are part of the third fixing member 6.
[0061] We will now describe, in relation to [Fig. 5], steps of a method 200 of assembling according to the invention, the light module 1 in the projector 100. This method of assembling 200 is carried out by an operator, or by one or more machines, or is carried out partly by an operator and partly by one or more machines.
[0062] A first step E1 of the assembly method 200 is the securing of the fixing members 6, 8, 10 to the rest of the support 2. For this, feet of the fixing members 6, 8, and 10 are force-fitted into corresponding grooves of the support 2. In particular, the foot 21 of the third fixing member 10 is force-fitted into the groove 122 of the support.
[0063] A second step E2 of the assembly method 200 is a step of fixing the adjustment elements of the light module 1 in the projector 100, including the fixing of the fixed adjustment elements 104 and the fixing of the position adjustment device 106 in the projector 100.
[0064] It should be noted that the order of steps E1 and E2 may vary, these steps being able to be carried out in parallel or one after the other.
[0065] The next step E3 is the insertion of the light module 1 into the projector 100.
[0066] This insertion step E3 comprises a first sub-step E31 of positioning the receiving zone 14 of the third fixing member 6 in contact with the position adjustment device 106. For this, as shown [Fig.6], the light module 1 is moved in the receiving direction R, which allows the spherical head 108 of the position adjustment device 106 to reach the receiving zone 14 of the third fixing member 6. The flared shape of the receiving zone makes it possible to facilitate this insertion of the spherical head and allow effortless and blind assembly for the operator.
[0067] Once the contact between the spherical head 108 and the bottom of the receiving zone 14 has been made, a following sub-step E32 of the insertion step E3 is the movement of the light module 1 relative to the position adjustment device 106 to bring the latter from the receiving zone 14 to the holding means 13 of the third fixing member 6, passing through the guide means 19 of the receiving zone 14. For this, the light module 1 is moved in a direction perpendicular to the receiving direction R, here in a substantially vertical and upwardly directed direction. Thus the spherical head 108 arrives without difficulty, thanks to the guide means 19, in a central portion of the holding means 13.
[0068] Then, in a final sub-step E33 of the insertion step E3, the light module 1 is pressed against the bottom wall of the casing 102 in order to forcefully insert the fixed adjustment elements 104 into the corresponding cavities of the first and second fixing members 8, 10.
[0069] At the end of the insertion step E3, the light module 1 is mounted movably in the projector 100, a pivot connection with a pivot axis P making it possible to angularly adjust the projection direction of a light beam emitted by the light module 1, relative to a horizontal plane.
[0070] It follows from the above description that the invention indeed achieves the aims it has set itself by proposing a light module comprising a support within which a fixing member cooperating with a position adjustment device is arranged, simple to manufacture and inexpensive, and which makes it possible to ensure easy positioning of the position adjustment device in the corresponding fixing member during assembly of the motor vehicle.
[0071] The invention cannot, however, be limited to the means and configurations described and illustrated here, and it also extends to any equivalent means or configurations and to any technically effective combination of such means.
[0072] In particular as a variant, the receiving zone 14 is located above the slide of the holding means 13 in the vertical direction, and / or the fixing members 8 and 10 are reversed, without changing the nature of the invention.
