Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Interface for attaching a motor vehicle emblem.
[0001] The technical field relates to the attachment interfaces of a grille accessory, the front grilles of motor vehicles having such an attachment interface, and finally the motor vehicles having such a front grille.
[0002] Customers of automobile manufacturers are very sensitive to the adjustments of the assemblies of the various elements of the vehicles. In this context, the front of a vehicle usually includes an emblem representing the manufacturer's brand and which is generally affixed to a radiator grille. The adjustments of the parts and various elements on the front must therefore be very careful, because they are responsible for the exterior image of the vehicle as perceived by customers and road users.
[0003] Furthermore, the front face includes a location for a vehicle registration plate, the position of which is imposed by regulations. Also, when the dimensions of the grille are reduced, it can be very difficult to fix the emblem, or any other grille accessory, on the grille. This problem is all the more relevant since many elements are assembled on a modern front face, such as upper hubcaps which reduce the space dedicated to the grille.
[0004] Thus, there is a need for a solution for attaching a grille accessory to a front grille of a motor vehicle.
[0005] The present invention aims to overcome the problems set out above. In this technical context, one aim of the present invention is to provide an interface for fixing a grille accessory independent of the dimensions of the elements of the grille.
[0006] For this purpose, the present invention relates to an interface for fixing a grille accessory designed to allow the accessory to be fixed to a front grille of a motor vehicle, the interface delimiting a fixing surface designed to receive the accessory, when the latter is fixed to the interface, the fixing surface comprising fixing means designed to cooperate with the accessory to fix the accessory, the fixing surface being divided into at least a first part and a second part, each extending over a separate grille element, each part comprising a part of the fixing means.
[0007] The invention also relates to a front grille of a motor vehicle comprising at least two separate grille elements and having an interface of attachment according to the invention distributed over at least two of the grille elements, the grille further comprising a grille accessory attached to the attachment interface.
[0008] The invention finally relates to a motor vehicle having a front grille according to the invention.
[0009] Thus, the fixing interface according to the invention makes it possible to position and fix a grille accessory on at least two grille elements. The fixing surface, distributed over several grille elements, makes it possible to overcome the dimensions of each element, and thus makes it possible not to be hindered by the position of the license plate.
[0010] According to one embodiment of the invention, the first and second parts are designed to be fixed to each other, when the grille accessory is fixed to the interface.
[0011] According to one possibility, the attachment interface is designed to accommodate an emblem representative of an automobile manufacturer.
[0012] According to one embodiment of the fixing interface, the fixing means make it possible to form a clip-on fixing.
[0013] According to one possibility of the fixing interface, one of the elements of the grille is a grille mesh.
[0014] According to one possibility of the fixing interface, one of the elements of the grille is an upper grille trim.
[0015] According to one possibility, the grille comprises indexing means making it possible to index the accessory on the fixing surface.
[0016] The invention will be better understood on reading the detailed description which follows, given solely by way of non-limiting example and made with reference to the appended drawings in which:
[0017] [Fig-1] [Fig.l] represents a perspective and detail view of a front grille according to the invention of a motor vehicle, according to the invention in which the accessory is an emblem of the vehicle manufacturer;
[0018] [Fig.2] [Fig.2] represents a perspective view of two grille elements separate showing the first and second parts of the grille attachment interface of [Fig.l], seen from an internal face of the grille;
[0019] [Fig.3] [Fig.3] represents a perspective view of the grille of [Fig.l] view from the inner face of the grille;
[0020] [Fig.4] [Fig.4] represents a sectional view of [Fig.l].
[0021] In these figures, the same references are used to designate the same elements.
[0022] A fixing interface 1 according to the invention, illustrated in the figures, is designed to allow the fixing of a grille accessory 2 on a front grille 3 according to the invention, illustrated in particular in [Fig.l], of a motor vehicle according to the invention. In the example illustrated in the figures, the grille accessory 2 is an emblem 4 of the manufacturer of the motor vehicle, visible in [Fig.l].
[0023] As illustrated in the figures, the front grille 3 is composed of at least two separate grille elements 5 assembled together. In the example illustrated in the figures, one of the elements 5 is a grille grid 6. As illustrated, a second element 5 is an upper grille trim 7.
[0024] The interface 1 delimits a fixing surface 8 designed to receive the accessory 2, when the latter is fixed on the interface 1. The surface 8 has a shape complementary to the emblem 4, in this case the shape of a coat of arms.
[0025] The fixing surface 8 comprises fixing means 9 designed to cooperate with the accessory 2 to fix the accessory 2 on the surface 8. For example, the fixing means 9 comprise a plurality of clipping slots 10 for receiving clipping tabs 11 projecting from a face 12 of the accessory 2, illustrated in [Fig. 4], intended to be positioned in support of the fixing surface 8 when the accessory 2 is mounted on the interface 1. The clipping slots 10 are advantageously distributed around the periphery of the surface 8.
[0026] The fixing means 9 are advantageously shaped to allow fixing of the accessory 2 by clipping onto the fixing surface 8. As illustrated in [Fig.4], to obtain fixing of the accessory 2 onto the fixing surface 8, the clipping tabs 11 are each introduced into a clipping slot 10.
[0027] As illustrated in the figures, the fixing surface 8 is divided into at least a first part 13 and a second part 14, each extending over a separate element 5 of the grille 3, each part comprising a part of the fixing means 9. As illustrated in [Fig. 3], the first 13 and second 14 parts are designed to be fixed to each other, when the grille accessory 2 is fixed to the interface 1. Thus, according to one possibility, one or more clipping tabs 11 successively pass through a clipping slot 10 of each of the first 13 and second 14 parts. For this purpose, the elements 5 are shaped to fit at least partially onto each other.
[0028] Finally, in addition to the fixing means 9, the grille 3 according to the invention comprises indexing means 15 making it possible to index the accessory 2 on the fixing surface 8. In this case, the indexing means 15 comprise orifices 16 provided on at least one of the elements 5 designed to receive an indexing pin 17 projecting from the face 12 of the accessory 2.
[0029] Thus, the fixing interface 1 according to the invention makes it possible to position and fix the grille accessory 2, in this case the emblem 4, on the grille grille 6 and the upper grille trim 7. The fixing surface 8, distributed over the elements 5 grille, allows you to free yourself from the dimensions of each element 5 and thus not be bothered by the position of the license plate.
[0030] The invention is not limited to the embodiment of the fixing interface described above, only by way of example, but other embodiments can be designed by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and scope of the present invention.
