Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Method for managing an air recirculation installation and associated air recirculation installation
[0001] The present invention relates to a method for managing an air recirculation installation and an air recirculation installation implementing such a method.
[0002] Buildings are generally divided into lots, in which air circulates. For example, in residential buildings, a lot corresponds to an apartment. In the case of an individual dwelling, for example a house, a lot corresponds to this individual dwelling. In office buildings, a lot corresponds to a portion of this building served by the same ventilation device. A lot is generally divided into several rooms, for example bedrooms or a living room in the case of a dwelling, or offices, meeting rooms, etc., in the case of a professional premises. In each room, the air is subject to variations in temperature, humidity, pollutant content, depending in particular on the presence of occupants, the time of day, sunshine, exposure, etc.
[0003] To improve the comfort of the occupants, it is known to equip a batch with an air recirculation installation. FR-3087522-A1 describes an example of such a recirculation installation. Such a recirculation installation comprises a centralized ventilation unit, and several ducts, which open into several rooms of the batch in question. The ventilation unit blows air into each room through the ducts, the air returning naturally, for example by passing under the doors and / or through air vents provided through the partitions and / or through a specific plenum.
[0004] The use of such a recirculation installation is generally limited to the choice of the speed of the ventilation unit, which circulates the air throughout the lot. The comfort provided to the occupants thus remains limited.
[0005] It is these problems that the invention more particularly intends to remedy, by proposing a method for managing an air recirculation installation offering improved comfort.
[0006] To this end, the invention relates to a method for managing an air recirculation installation, in which: - the recirculation installation includes: • conduits, each conduit opening into different rooms in the same lot of a building, • a ventilation unit, which comprises an air intake, through which the ventilation unit is configured to suck in air, and an air outlet, through which the ventilation unit is configured to blow into each duct the sucked air, the air leaving each duct returning to the air intake through passages provided in the batch, • a controller, which is configured to selectively close or open each of the ducts, for example by means of a damper, • at least one sensor, each sensor being configured to measure a characteristic quantity of the air around the sensor, for example a temperature, a humidity, a carbon dioxide level or a particle level, • a calculator, configured to perform calculations from the values of the measurements made by said at least one sensor, - the management process includes: • a step b), where a characteristic quantity of the air is measured in different parts of the batch by means of said at least one sensor, • a step c), where the measured values received from said at least one sensor are analyzed by means of the calculator, the analysis of the measured values comprising the comparison of the measured values with each other and / or the comparison of the measured values with a predetermined level, • a step d) where, depending on the analysis of the measured values carried out in step c), each duct is opened or closed selectively using the controller, so as to blow air, by means of the ventilation unit, into each open duct.
[0007] Thanks to the invention, it is possible to effectively improve the comfort of the people present in the batch, by selectively choosing in which rooms of the batch to circulate the air, by leaving one or more ducts open - totally or partially. The choice of open ducts is made according to the measured values of the characteristics of the air in the rooms considered, and possibly according to the time of day, the presence of people in the rooms, etc. Several recirculation strategies are thus possible, to provide the best possible comfort in the rooms where the need is felt.
[0008] According to advantageous but not obligatory aspects of the invention, such a cabinet may incorporate one or more of the following characteristics taken in isolation or in any technically admissible combination: - The ducts include a first duct, which opens into a first room of the batch, and a second duct, which is different from the first duct and which opens into a second room of the batch, the second room being different from the first room, while the at least one sensor includes an integrated sensor, which is located in the air intake of the ventilation unit, that the management method comprises a step a), prior to step b), in which, by means of the controller, the first duct is opened exclusively, each other duct being completely closed, then air is blown exclusively into the first duct by means of the ventilation unit, and that, in step b), a characteristic quantity of the air coming from the first room is measured, using the integrated sensor. The management method comprises a step a'), subsequent to step b), in which, by means of the controller, the second duct is opened exclusively, each other duct being completely closed, then air is blown exclusively into the second duct by means of the ventilation unit, while the management method comprises a step b'), subsequent to step a'), in which a characteristic quantity of the air coming from the second room is measured using the integrated sensor. The integrated sensor is a solid particle sensor, in particular PM 10 and / or PM 2.5 and / or PMI particles, the integrated sensor being configured to measure a particle rate in the air circulating around the integrated sensor, whereas, in step b), the measured characteristic quantity is a particle rate in the air circulating in the air intake of the ventilation unit. The at least one sensor includes at least two remote sensors, which are located in different rooms where the ducts open, whereas, in step b), the same characteristic quantity of the air is measured by means of the remote sensors, then in step c), the measured values received from the remote sensors are analyzed, the analysis comprising the comparison of the measured values received from the remote sensors and the comparison of the measured values with a predetermined level. In step b), the characteristic quantity measured by means of the remote sensors includes a temperature and / or a carbon dioxide level and / or a humidity level. Depending on the analysis of the measured values carried out by means of the at least one sensor in step c), in step d), at least two ducts opening into rooms where the characteristic quantity of the air is measured are opened with the controller, so as to homogenize, in the air blown in by these at least two ducts, the measured characteristic quantity. The recirculation installation also comprises an air treatment unit, which is configured to treat the air passing through the ventilation unit, while depending on the analysis of the measured values carried out in step c), in step d), at least one duct is closed with the controller, while at least one other duct is opened, the air blown into each open duct being treated by means of an air treatment unit. - The air handling unit comprises a heat exchanger, configured to heat or cool the air passing through the ventilation unit, while in step d), the air circulating in the ventilation unit is heated or cooled by means of the heat exchanger, and / or The air treatment unit comprises a particle filter, configured to retain a portion of the particles transported in the air circulating in the ventilation unit, while in step d), the air circulating in the ventilation unit is filtered by means of the particle filter.
[0009] The invention also relates to an air recirculation installation, comprising: - at least two conduits, which open into different rooms of the same lot of a building, - a ventilation unit, which comprises an air intake, through which the ventilation unit is configured to draw air, and an air outlet, through which the ventilation unit is configured to blow the drawn air into each duct, the air leaving each duct returning to the air intake through passages provided in the batch, - a controller, which is configured to selectively close each of the ducts, for example by means of a register, - at least one sensor, each sensor being configured to measure a characteristic of the air around the sensor, for example a temperature, a humidity, a CO2 level or a particle level, - a calculator, configured to perform calculations from the values of the measurements made by said at least one sensor,
[0010] in which the recirculation installation is configured to implement the management method as defined previously.
[0011] The invention will be better understood, and other advantages thereof will appear more clearly in the light of the following description of several embodiments of a method for managing an air recirculation installation and of a recirculation installation, in accordance with its principle, given solely by way of example and with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
[0012] - [Fig.l] [Fig.l] is a side view of an air recirculation installation, re presented schematically, and
[0013] - [Fig.2] [Fig.2] is a top view of the recirculation installation of [Fig.l]
[0014] An air recirculation installation 100 is shown in [Fig.l].
[0015] The air recirculation installation 100, also simply called installation 100, is received in a lot 10. By "lot" is meant a portion of the interior volume of the building, in which common air flows circulate. For example, in the case of a residential building, each apartment is a lot of this building, as in the example illustrated. The air flows circulate within each apartment, but not between the apartments - possible leaks being neglected -. In the case of a detached house, this house comprises only one lot, the house itself.
[0016] Batch 10 serves to explain the context of use of the recirculation installation 100. Batch 10 comprises a floor 12 and a ceiling 14, which are assumed to be horizontal. The following description is given with reference to the orientation of the illustrated objects, knowing that it may be otherwise in reality, in particular when these objects are in separate parts or in the process of being assembled.
[0017] Lot 10 comprises a room 16, here a toilet room, represented by a bowl 17A and a tank 17B. The bowl 17A and the tank 17B are here carried by a frame 17C, that is to say a metal frame which rests on the floor 12. The bowl 17A is connected to an evacuation conduit 18, which here passes through the floor 12 and the ceiling 14.
[0018] Lot 10 also includes a first room 21, which is separate from room 16. The first room 21 is here a bedroom, which is here separated from room 16 by a corridor 17.
[0019] With reference to [Fig. 2], lot 10 also comprises, in addition to the first room 21, a second room 22. The second room 22 is here a bedroom. In the illustrated example, lot 10 also comprises, in addition to the first room 21 and the second room 23, a third room 23. The third room 23 is here a living room. Generally speaking, the first, second and third rooms 21, 22 and 23 are different areas of lot 10.
[0020] The installation 100 includes a ventilation unit 110. The ventilation unit comprises a fan 112 and, optionally, an air treatment unit 114, which is configured to treat the air passing through the ventilation unit 110. The air treatment unit 114 is here a filter, which is configured to capture a portion of the solid particles transported by the air flows passing through the ventilation unit. The solid particles are in particular particles of a size less than 10 qm - denoted PM 10 - and / or particles of a size less than 2.5 qm - denoted PM2.5 - and / or particles of a size less than 1 qm - denoted PMI -.
[0021] In a variant not illustrated, the air treatment unit 114 comprises a heat exchanger, which is configured to heat or cool the air passing through the ventilation unit 110. For example, the treatment unit 114 is connected to a heat transfer fluid, so as to regulate a temperature of the air in the batch 10.
[0022] In the illustrated example, the installation 100 also comprises a reception cabinet 102 of the ventilation unit 110. The cabinet 102 delimits an interior volume VI02, which is therefore here configured to receive the ventilation unit 110.
[0023] The recirculation installation 100 comprises several ventilation ducts 120, which open into several rooms of the lot 10. With reference to [Fig. 2], the ventilation ducts 120 include three ducts, referenced 121, 122 and 123, which open respectively into the first, second and third rooms 21, 22 and 23 of the lot 10. Only the duct 121, which opens into the first room 21, is shown in [Fig. 1], to explain the operating principle of the installation 100, which is valid for one of the ducts 120 being transposable to the other ducts 120.
[0024] The installation 100 comprises, for each conduit 121, 122 and 123, a respective outlet mouth 124, through which the conduit in question opens into the lot 10. In the example illustrated, the conduit 121 opens into the room 21 through the outlet mouth 124 associated with this conduit 121.
[0025] In the example of [Fig.l], the air blown by the outlet vent 124 returns to the ventilation unit 110 by a return duct, here a plenum 38 arranged in the lot 10. The plenum 38 is here arranged by a false ceiling, which extends in the lot 10 between the room 21 and the ventilation unit 110. The plenum 38 and the room 21 are fluidically connected by an inlet vent 126. In a variant not shown, the return duct is arranged by a specific pipe. More generally, each room of the lot 10 into which a duct 120 opens comprises at least one inlet vent 126, to allow the return of the air blown by the duct 120 concerned to the ventilation unit 110.
[0026] Each outlet vent 124 is advantageously combined with a respective inlet vent 126, as in published application FR-3087522-A1. In [Fig. 2], only the outlet vents 124 are shown, it being understood that the inlet vents 126, although not shown, are present to allow the return of air to the ventilation unit 110.
[0027] The cabinet 102 is here connected in a sealed manner to the plenum 38, the cabinet 102 being assumed to be airtight. By "airtight" is meant a leakage rate of less than 6% of the air flow recirculated in the ventilation unit 110, which is comparable to a leakage rate through partitions made of plasterboard joined by joint strips and plaster.
[0028] The ventilation unit 110 comprises an air intake 116, through which the ventilation unit is configured to suck in the returning air passing through each of the inlet vents 116, and an air outlet 118, through which the ventilation unit 110 is configured to blow the sucked air into each duct 120. Thus, when the fan 112 is in normal operation, the air intake 116 is located upstream of the fan 112 in the direction of flow of the air flows, while the air outlet 118 is located downstream of fan 112.
[0029] Thus, when the ventilation unit 110 is operating and blows air into the room 21 through the duct 121, this creates a slight overpressure in the room 21 and a slight depression in the plenum 38, so that the air blown into the room 21 through the duct 121 naturally tends to return to the ventilation unit 110 via the inlet 116 and the plenum 38.
[0030] It is understood that when several ducts 120 are open, the air flows passing through each of the inlet vents 126 associated with these ducts return to the air intake 116 of the ventilation unit 110, or these air flows are mixed, that is to say homogenized, and possibly treated by means of the air treatment unit 114, before being re-injected into each duct 120.
[0031] In the example illustrated, the cabinet 102 houses the chassis 17C and the tank 17B of the toilets, the chassis 17C and the tank 17B not being of course necessary for the proper functioning of the recirculation installation 100, as long as the air intake 118 of the ventilation unit 110 is connected to the air inlets 116 via an airtight volume, here the plenum 38. In a variation not shown, the ventilation unit 110 is located in a specific room, which is connected in an airtight manner to the plenum 38, the cabinet 102 being absent.
[0032] With reference to [Fig. 1], the installation 100 comprises a closing device 130, here a damper, which is here housed in the duct 121 and which is configured to close the duct 121. More generally, each duct 120 is associated with a respective closing device 130, while the air treatment unit 110 also comprises a controller, which controls each of the closing devices 130 independently of one another. In other words, the controller is configured to selectively close each of the ducts 120, here by means of a damper. The controller is, at a minimum, configured to open and completely close each duct 120 selectively, according to an “all or nothing” operating mode.Advantageously, the controller is also configured to partially open and close each duct 120, so as to modulate an air flow passing through each duct 120 when the ventilation unit 110 is in operation, according to a modulated operating mode. For a given duct 120, “partially open” is equivalent to “partially closed” or “partially closed”. A duct 120 is said to be “open” when an air flow can pass through this duct 120, that is to say that this duct is totally or partially open. A duct 120 said to be “closed” or “closed” is totally closed, that is to say that no air flow can pass through this duct 120, air leaks being neglected.
[0033] The controller is not shown. The controller is for example included in a control box provided to control the installation 100, this control box being for example integrated into the ventilation unit 110, or even, as a variant, remote, to facilitate access for a user.
[0034] The installation 100 also comprises at least one sensor 131, each sensor 131 being configured to measure a characteristic of the air around the sensor, for example a temperature, a hygrometry, a CO2 level, a level of solid particles - in particular PM10 and / or PM2.5 and / or PMI -, a level of volatile organic compounds, noted VOCs, etc.
[0035] In the illustrated example, the at least one sensor 131 includes a so-called “integrated sensor” 132, which is located in the ventilation unit 110 and which measures a characteristic of the air passing through the ventilation unit. Preferably, the integrated sensor 132 is located in the air intake 116 of the ventilation unit 110, upstream of the air treatment unit 114 when the ventilation unit 110 comprises such an air treatment unit 114.
[0036] The installation 100 also comprises a calculator, configured to perform calculations from the values of the measurements made by each sensor 131 of the installation 100.
[0037] It is understood that when all the ducts 120 except one are closed, for example when only the duct 121 is left open, the air blown by the ventilation unit 110 passes exclusively through the duct 121 - any possible leaks being neglected - and circulates in the first room 21. Thus the air which returns through the plenum 38 to the air intake 116 is the air from the first room 21. The integrated sensor 132, located in the air intake 116, thus measures the characteristics of the air coming exclusively from the first room 21.
[0038] Once the measurement of the integrated sensor 132 is stabilized, a value representative of the characteristic of the air in the first room 21 is thus obtained.
[0039] If, then, the first duct 121 is closed, and another of the ducts 120 is open, for example the duct 122 opening into the second room 22, then the integrated sensor 132 measures the characteristics of the air coming exclusively from the second room 22. Once the measurement of the integrated sensor 132 is stabilized, a value representative of the characteristic of the air in the second room 22 is thus obtained.
[0040] In the example illustrated, the integrated sensor 132 is a solid particle sensor, so in step b), the characteristic quantity measured is a rate of particles in the air circulating in the air intake 116 of the ventilation unit 110.
[0041] More generally, it is understood that it is possible to implement a method for managing the recirculation installation 100, this method making it possible, using a single centralized sensor 132, to measure a characteristic of the air in each of the rooms into which the conduits 120 open. This avoids the installation of a sensor in each of the rooms, which is particularly economical when the sensor in question is expensive, which is the case, for example, with solid particle sensors. In comparison, temperature sensors are much less expensive than solid particle sensors.
[0042] The method for managing the recirculation installation 100 thus comprises an initial step a), in which, by means of the controller, the first duct 121 is opened exclusively, each other duct 122 / 123 being completely closed, then air is blown exclusively into the first duct 121 by means of the ventilation unit 110.
[0043] The management method also comprises a step b), subsequent to step a), during which a characteristic quantity of the air coming from the first room 21 is measured, using the integrated sensor 132.
[0044] The management method comprises a step a'), subsequent to step b), in which, by means of the controller, the second duct 122 is opened exclusively, each other duct 120 being completely closed, then air is blown exclusively into the second duct 122 by means of the ventilation unit 110. The management method comprises a step b'), subsequent to step a'), in which a characteristic quantity of the air coming from the second room 22 is measured using the integrated sensor 132.
[0045] More generally, by repeating for each part of batch 10 steps a), b), a characteristic quantity of the air is measured successively, in different parts of batch 10, by means of said at least one sensor 131, here the integrated sensor 132.
[0046] Once the measurement values of several parts of the batch 10 are obtained, these values are analyzed and compared. The management method thus comprises a step c), where the measured values received from said at least one sensor 131, here the integrated sensor 132, are analyzed by means of the computer. The analysis of the values measured by the integrated sensor 132 comprises the comparison of the measured values with each other and / or the comparison of the measured values with a predetermined level.
[0047] The management method also comprises a step d) where, depending on the analysis of the measured values carried out in step c), each duct 120 is opened or closed selectively using the controller, so as to blow air, by means of the ventilation unit 110, into each open duct 120. Of course, at least one of the ducts 120 is open. During step d), depending on the needs, the ducts 120 are not necessarily completely open or completely closed. For example, some of the ducts 120 are partially open.
[0048] When the installation 100 comprises the air treatment unit 114, the air passing through each duct 120 left open and blown into each corresponding room, in step d), is thus treated by the air treatment unit 114, whereas the air from the other rooms of the batch 10, into which no air is blown, is not treated.
[0049] As an example of practical use, when the integrated sensor 132 is a solid particle sensor and the air treatment unit 114 comprises a particle filter, during steps a) and b) the average particle rate of the air in these rooms is successively measured in each of the rooms of the batch 10.
[0050] Several strategies are possible in step d), these strategies being able to be combined with each other.
[0051] According to a first strategy called “selective”, during step c), the measured values are compared and, depending on other parameters - for example the number of people present, the time of day, etc. - one or more rooms are selected, all the rooms of the batch 10 so as to purify the air in these rooms as a priority during step d). For example, in the middle of the day, the air in the living room 23 is treated as a priority if the particle rate exceeds a predetermined value, whereas in the evening, the air in the bedrooms 21 / 22 is treated as a priority if the particle rate exceeds a predetermined value.
[0052] According to a second strategy called “homogenization”, depending on the analysis of the measured values carried out in step c), in step d) at least two conduits 120 opening into rooms where the characteristic quantity of the air is measured are opened with the controller, so as to homogenize, in the air blown in by these at least two conduits 120, the measured characteristic quantity.
[0053] The principles described above can of course be implemented with an integrated sensor 132 of a type other than a particle sensor. According to non-limiting examples, the integrated sensor 132 is a temperature sensor, a humidity sensor, a CO2 sensor, a VOC sensor, etc.
[0054] According to another aspect of the invention, the at least one sensor 131 includes so-called “remote” sensors 134, which are each associated with a part of the batch 10 into which one of the conduits 120 opens. The remote sensors 134 are arranged so as to measure the same characteristic quantity of the air within the parts of the batch 10 associated with these remote sensors 134.
[0055] In the example of [Fig.l], a single sensor 134 is shown, this remote sensor 134 being associated with the first part 21 into which the first conduit 121 opens, this remote sensor 134 being here located on the inlet mouth 126, so as to measure a characteristic of the air entering this inlet mouth 126. The remote sensors 134 are configured to measure at least one common characteristic of the air.
[0056] The remote sensors 134 are preferably identical to each other. The remote sensors 134 are for example temperature and / or carbon dioxide and / or humidity sensors, the characteristic quantities measured by these remote sensors 134 being a temperature and / or a carbon dioxide level and / or a humidity level. Optionally, the remote sensors 134 include a presence sensor, configured to detect the presence of people in the rooms concerned.
[0057] Thus, in step b) of the method for managing the recirculation installation 100, the same characteristic quantity of the air is measured in at least two different rooms of the batch 10 by means of the remote sensors 134. For example, the temperature is measured in each of the rooms where a remote sensor 134 is located.
[0058] It is understood that when the remote sensors 134 are installed, the characteristic(s) considered can be measured simultaneously in each of the parts associated with these sensors. The acquisition of the measurements is therefore faster than in the case of the integrated sensor 132.
[0059] Then, in step c), the measured values received from the remote sensors 134 are analyzed, the analysis comprising the comparison with the measured values received from the remote sensors and the comparison of the measured values with a predetermined level.
[0060] Then, in step d), each duct is opened or closed selectively using the controller depending on the analysis of the measured values carried out in step c), so as to blow air, by means of the ventilation unit 110, into each open duct 120.
[0061] As previously, the selective strategy and / or the homogenization strategy can be implemented in step d), depending on the needs, but also depending on the configuration of the ventilation unit 110 - for example depending on whether the air treatment unit 114 comprises a heat exchanger, a particle filter, etc.
[0062] For example, with reference to [Fig.2], the recirculation installation 100 comprises three conduits 121, 122 and 123, which open respectively into three different rooms of the lot 10, here into the two bedrooms 21 and 22 and into the living room 23. It is understood that depending on the time of day and / or depending on the orientation of the rooms - in particular the exposure of these rooms, when they include windows -, the air temperature within each room of the lot 10 changes.
[0063] If, at bedtime, the living room 23 is hot while the bedrooms 21 and 22 are too cold to be comfortable, the homogenization strategy makes it possible to increase the air temperature in the bedrooms 21 and 22, for an energy cost limited to the energy consumed by the fan 112. Such a situation occurs, for example, in winter, with a living room 23 facing south.
[0064] If, once the temperature has been homogenized within the batch 10, the temperature in the rooms 21 and 22 is still too cold to be comfortable, and in the event that the air treatment unit 114 comprises a heat exchanger, configured to re heating the air passing through the ventilation unit 110, then the selective strategy is implemented. Thus, in step d), the air circulating in the ventilation unit 110 is heated by means of the heat exchanger, so as to selectively heat the air in the bedrooms 21 and 22, without heating the air in the living room 23.
[0065] A symmetrical situation occurs in summer, where some rooms may be too hot to be comfortable, while other rooms remain at an acceptable temperature. The homogenization strategy thus makes it possible to improve the comfort of the inhabitants at a limited energy cost.
[0066] The above examples are given considering the temperature as a characteristic of the air in batch 10. The same principles are of course transposable for other characteristics of the air in batch 10, in particular the rate of solid particles, the rate of CO2, humidity, etc.
[0067] In the example illustrated, the recirculation installation 100 comprises three conduits 121, 122 and 123, which open respectively into three different rooms of lot 10, here into the two bedrooms 21 and 22 and into the living room 23.
[0068] More generally, the principles of the invention can be implemented when the recirculation installation comprises at least two conduits 120, which open into different rooms of the lot 10.
[0069] The embodiments and variants mentioned above can be combined with each other to generate new embodiments of the invention.
