Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: METHOD FOR GENERATING A PATTERN DEFINING A CUTTING PLAN OF A GARMENT Field of invention
[0001] The field of the invention relates to that of computer-implemented methods for generating digital patterns in order to produce personalized clothing. State of the art
[0002] Currently, there are possibilities to produce clothes from digital patterns. A first problem is that the patterns are not easily manipulated by novice users who cannot imagine the 3D visual of the garment for which one is trying to draw the cutting lines.
[0003] There is therefore an interest in representing the garment in 3D, for example on an avatar so that the user can modify it. One problem is that the modifications made do not easily allow the production of a new digital pattern associated with the garment that has been modified by the user.
[0004] In particular, when a user wishes to modify the shape of a three-dimensional representation of a garment, it is difficult to generate consistent cutting lines over the entire 3D surface of the garment in order to produce a new garment. The difficulty arises from the fact that current solutions do not propose to guide the user on a 3D shape represented by a 2D display. Furthermore, the garment represented in 3D includes approximations and folds which most often come from an algorithm, but which do not correspond to the reality of the garment being worn by an individual. Summary of the invention
[0005] The invention makes it possible to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks of the prior art. In particular, the invention makes it possible to produce a digital pattern of a garment modified by a user on a three-dimensional representation from the definition of segmentation lines. The segmentation lines make it possible to design a new garment from a first garment which has harmonious and coherent lines at the level of its cutting lines.
[0006] According to a first aspect, the invention relates to a method for generating a pattern defining a cutting plan of a garment comprising: • Generation of at least one first garment defining a 3D digital object, said at least one garment being associated with a first digital pattern defining a set of cutting lines, said first digital pattern further comprising a set of segmentation lines generated to define garment portions, • Selection of an avatar template from at least one size and / or body type; • Generation of a 3D avatar and a three-dimensional representation of each generated garment, each three-dimensional representation of generated garment being displayed superimposed on at least one area of said 3D avatar; • Calculation of a set of tracings corresponding to all the segmentation lines defined within the first digital pattern on the surface of the three-dimensional representation of the garment; • Selection of a portion of the first garment; • Generation of a new garment from a segmentation of the first garment according to at least one segmentation line; • Generation of a second digital pattern defining a 2D representation of a cutting plan for said new garment for a set of cutting lines chosen according to the size and / or morphology criterion.
[0007] One advantage is that it makes it possible to provide a simple clothing design tool by generating patterns according to user preferences and modifications of an initial garment.
[0008] According to one embodiment, a plurality of generated garments are selected and represented on different areas of the 3D avatar, said representation of the garments being organized according to an order defining the visible layers of clothing on the common area portions of the 3D avatar. An advantage is to faithfully represent a garment arrangement for which changes are desired to be visualized. The changes may include removals of garment portions or replacements of garment portions. These modifications may be appreciated on an avatar with a plurality of other garments in order to provide an overview of these modifications.
[0009] According to one embodiment, the segmentation of the first garment comprises a step of removing the selected portion in order to generate the new garment and the second digital pattern. An advantage is to define a plurality of garments from an initial garment.
[0010] According to one embodiment, the method comprises: • successively to the selection of a portion of the first garment, the selection of a new portion of garment from a database of portions of garment, each portion of garment in the database being associated with a digital pattern; • the generation of a new garment involving the replacement of the portion of clothing selected from a segmentation of the first garment according to at least one segmentation line and the replacement of the new portion of clothing selected; • Generation of a second digital pattern defining a 2D representation of a cutting plan for said new garment for a set of cutting lines chosen according to the size and / or morphology criterion.
[0011] An advantage is to allow the creation of a new garment by interchanging certain portions of pattern(s) according to segmentation and cutting lines from a database of equivalent garment portions.
[0012] According to one embodiment, at least one new portion of clothing is selectable within the database to replace the portion of clothing represented on the 3D avatar and which has been selected, each new selectable portion of clothing comprising a pattern whose dimensions are substantially identical to the dimensions of the digital pattern corresponding to the selected portion of the first garment.
[0013] One advantage is to use a correspondence index to link patterns or portions of patterns together according to their dimensional correspondence.
[0014] According to one embodiment, a correspondence index between two portions of clothing is generated when comparing at least one value relating to the dimensions between: • on the one hand the digital pattern associated with a portion of clothing selected on the 3D representation of the clothing superimposed on the 3D avatar and; • on the other hand, the digital pattern of a portion of clothing selected from the database to replace said portion of clothing selected on the 3D representation of the clothing;
[0015] is less than a predefined threshold.
[0016] An advantage is that it makes it possible to generate associations between digital patterns or between portions of digital patterns which can be interchangeable when designing the garment using the method of the invention.
[0017] According to one embodiment, a set of pairs of values relating to the length of each branch of contours of each pair of compared patterns is less than a threshold value.
[0018] According to one embodiment, each garment represented superimposed on the 3D avatar comprises a plurality of cutting lines associated with each segmentation line, said set being called a group of segmentation lines. An advantage is to allow customization of the garment in portions while taking into account the size of each individual.
[0019] According to one embodiment, each garment comprises a plurality of groups of segmentation lines to offer different styles of segmentation and selectable portions of a garment to the user from a three-dimensional representation of the garment. An advantage is that it allows for a great capacity for customization and multiplication of the number of garments that can be generated from a given garment.
[0020] According to one embodiment, the first digital pattern is a digital document representing the contours of a garment, the cutting lines, where appropriate the fold lines and at least one segmentation line generated within the surface delimited by the contour of the cutting lines.
[0021] According to one embodiment, a set of segmentation lines is generated on the first digital pattern by means of a first machine learning model, said first machine learning model being trained from a set of digital patterns, each of said digital patterns comprising at least one predefined segmentation line, said at least one segmentation line defining at least one new cutting line in order to generate a second garment from the first garment corresponding to the first digital pattern. An advantage is to make it possible to generate potentially segmentable garment portions which are faithful to the lines of the digital pattern corresponding to the garment represented.
[0022] According to one embodiment, a group of segmentation lines are generated for different sizes, each group of segmentation lines being associated with a segmentation line of said group. An advantage is to allow the garment of which portions are to be changed to be adapted in a personalized manner while taking into account the size of the individual.
[0023] According to one embodiment, the selection of a portion of a three-dimensional representation of a garment represented on the avatar makes it possible to extract a new garment cut along a segmentation line from the segmentation line group, said cutting being carried out along the segmentation line corresponding to the size of the individual. An advantage is to allow customization of the garment modified according to the method of the invention.
[0024] According to one embodiment, the definition of a size and a morphology criterion makes it possible to automatically generate a 3D avatar template. One advantage is that it makes it possible to generate an avatar from real parameters of an individual's body. According to one exemplary embodiment, a parametric model of a human body can be used to generate a 3D avatar conforming to personalized parameters of the individual.
[0025] According to one embodiment, a modification of the 3D avatar makes it possible to automatically modify a size criterion and / or a morphology criterion. An advantage is to allow personalized modifications of the avatar to the image of the body of a individual.
[0026] According to one embodiment, the method comprises the acquisition of a 3D scan of a garment and the generation of a digital pattern from said 3D scan, the operation comprising the generation of a digital pattern being carried out from the application of a second machine learning model, said second machine learning model being trained in a supervised manner from input data defining 3D garment models and the outputs of which are digital patterns corresponding to said garments, the digital patterns comprising cutting lines and fold lines. An advantage is to obtain an avatar as close as possible to a body model of an individual. This operation makes it possible to obtain a representation of a representation of a garment on an avatar faithful to the curves of an individual.
[0027] According to one embodiment, the digital pattern is a document in “.pdf” format. One advantage is that it allows for the exchange of information in a standardized format that can easily be exported and imported into an information system. In addition, this format makes it easier to print said pattern.
[0028] According to one embodiment, the pattern includes scale lines. One advantage is that it allows measurement markers to be provided to a seamstress when cutting out the garment from the printed pattern.
[0029] According to another aspect, the invention relates to a system for generating a digital pattern characterized in that it comprises a first remote server comprising a database of digital patterns associated with garment identifiers and parameters for generating a three-dimensional representation of each garment, a second server comprising software means for generating a digital avatar from user parameter data, and a calculator and a memory for carrying out the steps of the method of the invention.
[0030] According to another aspect, the invention relates to a digital pattern obtained by the method, said digital pattern comprising a set of lines drawn on a digital document making it possible to design a garment.
[0031] According to another aspect, the invention relates to a physical pattern obtained by printing at a scale of 1:1 the digital pattern of the invention, said pattern allowing the cutting of a fabric according to the cutting lines of said printed physical pattern. Definitions
[0033] In this description, a “garment” is a piece of textile intended to be worn by an individual.
[0034] A “digital garment” is a digital representation of a garment that can be displayed on a display of an electronic terminal such as a telephone or a computer. A digital garment is denoted v; in the present description.
[0035] A "pattern" is a 2D cutting plan with cutting lines for cutting pieces to be assembled and sewing them together to make a garment.
[0036] A “segmentation line” is a line initially drawn on a pattern representing a cutting plane of a garment in 2D and possibly being projectable onto the surface of a 3D representation of the garment. The segmentation line(s) make it possible to define at least one cut of a garment with the objective of producing a second garment from which a portion of the first garment has been removed. According to one case, the segmentation lines can be initially defined on a 3D model and inversely projected onto a 2D pattern.
[0037] An “avatar template” is the name given to the data used to generate an avatar using a human body model configured according to at least one given criterion. In the remainder of the description, it will be possible to call an “avatar” or an “avatar template” indifferently when designating the shape of a 3D body model generated to represent a three-dimensional garment in superposition.
[0038] An “avatar” is a digital three-dimensional representation in space of a body model having a given appearance, i.e. a template. avatar having an additional appearance element such as skin color, hair length.
[0039] In the remainder of the description, at least one segmentation line represented on a pattern representing a cutting plan of a garment is called a “set of segmentation lines”.
[0040] [Fig.l] represents a 3D avatar, denoted 1, of a body model on which three digital garments have been represented superimposed on the body model. A first garment 10 forms a jacket, a second garment 12 forms a top, also called a "top", "crop top" or tank top. A third garment 11 represents a pair of trousers. The invention has made it possible to generate these three garments, each having a three-dimensional representation. According to one example, this generation is carried out from a digital pattern representing the lines of a garment, in particular its contours, its cutting lines, its fold lines, etc.
[0041] In this embodiment, three pose zones are defined. A first pose zone corresponds to an upper part of the avatar 1. A symbol denoted Ov makes it possible to act on the elements contained in this zone. A second pose zone corresponds to an area of the avatar corresponding to its abdomen and chest for example. A symbol denoted To makes it possible to act on the elements of this zone. A third pose zone corresponds to the lower zone of the avatar. A symbol denoted Bo makes it possible to act on the elements of this zone.
[0042] The pose zone corresponds to a portion of the avatar on which a digital garment is represented. Each pose zone can have overlaps with another zone. Here, the Ov zone covers the To zone. Each pose zone comprises an order making it possible to define a superposition layer of the garments which are represented. For example, the Ov zone makes it possible to define a layer higher than the To layer. Thus, the garment 10 is represented superimposed on the garment 12. In this example, the Bo zone also comprises an order higher than the To zone, thus the pants 12 are superimposed on the bottom of the tank top 12 in the mixed zone. However, the Ov zone remains of higher order than the Bo zone, thus, if the jacket had been long, it would have been superimposed on the pants so that the user of the software sees the jacket rather than the pants in the mixed zone.
[0043] One advantage of the symbols is that they allow action to be taken on the elements of an area. The possible actions according to the different embodiments of the invention may correspond to a replacement of a garment, a modification of the appearance of a garment, a selection of a portion of a garment cut along a segmentation line, etc.
[0044] According to one embodiment, the avatar 1 can be oriented in 3D according to a rotation function noted 2 allowing the avatar to be rotated around an axis 3. Other axes of rotation may be provided according to other embodiments.
[0045] According to a first embodiment variant, a user chooses a 3D avatar according to a catalog of 3D avatars. According to a second variant, the user defines a gender and / or a morphology and / or at least one size. The morphology can for example comprise several measurements, such as height, hip circumference, waist circumference, shoulder width, etc. According to an alternative, the morphology can also be determined according to at least one term characterizing a general shape relating to shape coefficients applied to a predefined avatar. This latter method can be combined with the definition of a size of an individual. According to another example, the user can determine the morphology from local transformations of the 3D shape of the avatar. This operation can be carried out, for example, from a cursor or a selector to locally deform areas of the 3D avatar. In this last method, a size can also be defined by the user to size the chosen avatar.
[0046] The 3D avatar can be modeled in different ways, for example by a point cloud, each point having coordinates in space. According to one example, shape and pose coefficients applied to a parametric body model make it possible to define a personalized avatar. An example of a parametric model is for example the SMPL model, described in particular in the article “A Skinned Multi-Person Linear Model”.
[0047] According to one embodiment, a gender, a height, a weight or a body mass index can also form parameters taken into account to generate a 3D avatar.
[0048] [Fig.2] represents a pattern p; of a t-shirt having long sleeves comprising a set of cutting lines 40 for different sizes of the garment vi. The garment comprises scale lines 20 making it possible to indicate a representation scale in order to allow the piece to be drawn on a 1:1 scale format.
[0049] A fold line 50 makes it possible to define a line of symmetry for designing the garment v; by symmetry. However, within the framework of the invention, the presence of a fold line is not necessary for carrying out the method of the invention.
[0050] [Fig.2] further represents a group of segmentation lines 30 which have been predefined on the garment vi. The 4 segmentation lines 30 correspond to different sizes such as sizes S; M and L and XL. According to an exemplary embodiment, the t-shirt may comprise different groups of segmentation lines 30 along the sleeve to offer different styles of short-sleeved t-shirt. This embodiment shows the full advantage of the method of the invention, by defining several groups of segmentation lines to offer not only different cutting styles, but also taking into consideration different individual sizes.
[0051] Thus, a user is not burdened by the need to take into account numerous complex elements to be taken into account in order to generate a new garment from an existing garment. Indeed, the invention makes it possible, on the one hand, to display or use only one segmentation line per group of segmentation lines according to the size indicated by the user at the start of the method. Then, on the other hand, the selection of a portion of a garment represented in 3D automatically makes it possible to propose to the user cutting lines according to the presence closest to his selection of the segmentation lines.
[0052] [Fig.3] represents the garment v; on a 3D avatar. Only the upper part of the avatar is represented in the figure. The garment v; represented in 3D comprises two segmentation lines 30 on either side of the garment making it possible to define a short-sleeved T-shirt.
[0053] According to one embodiment, a segmentation line is shown forming a cutting line. However, depending on the size and / or morphology of the individual, the position and contour of the segmentation line 30 may be adapted. According to one example, each sleeve may comprise three groups of segmentation lines to offer three types of cuts to the user.
[0054] According to one embodiment, the garment v; comprises a plurality of segmentation lines such as lines 31 making it possible to define a sleeveless garment, called a “vest” or a “tank top”, or line 32 making it possible to define a short t-shirt called a “crop top” in Anglo-Saxon terminology.
[0055] The user having access to the method implemented by computer has the possibility, by means of a user interface, to select the parts of the t-shirt and more generally of the garment that he wishes to define. The selection of the part of the garment that one wishes to keep is carried out for example by means of a digital command such as an operation with the finger on a touch screen or with a mouse or a keyboard from a computer.
[0056] The selected parts can be modified in their appearance depending on an available fabric and / or color. The choices are accessible from a menu and the selection of the choices of interest to the user makes it possible to generate a representation on the 3D body model of the avatar.
[0057] [Fig.4] represents a pattern p^ generated from a user selection on the garment represented on the 3D avatar. The method of the invention acquired the size of the individual, for example from an entry on a user interface. In this case, the entry made it possible to retrieve the size of 176 cm. The selection of an avatar having given shapes and morphology also made it possible to define a belly circumference. This morphology can be defined optionally. However, in order to adjust the rendering of the garment to be designed, a preferred embodiment of the invention makes it possible to take this data into account. According to one embodiment, the morphology data may be a clothing size such as “S”, “M”, “L”, “XL”, “XXL”. This clothing size may also be replaced by a number such as 26, 28, 40, 42 or 44 to refine the size data.
[0058] Thus, this clothing size can also be defined when choosing an avatar 1 so that the morphological profile of the avatar 1 resembles as closely as possible the morphological profile of the individual.
[0059] An advantage of the invention is to generate a new digital pattern p^ of a t-shirt defining a portion of clothing v; with short sleeves corresponding to the morphological dimensions of the individual while responding to his personal choices, corresponding here, for example, to the removal of the long sleeves and the retention of the short sleeves.
[0060] The invention makes it possible to transmit the pattern pu to a manufacturer such as a seamstress who can make the garment to measure to the size and taste of the individual. According to one embodiment, prior to the validation of the pattern pu and the transfer of the digital file corresponding to the pattern pu, the user has the possibility of checking the rendering of the digital pattern pu.
[0061] The transmission of the pattern can be carried out automatically after validation of the operation by the user. For this purpose, a notification or an electronic message is sent to a third server SERV2 allowing the data of the digital pattern and data relating to the textile chosen by the user to be recorded. An advantage of the invention is to send a digital pattern p; with the different garment proportions represented on the pattern p; comprising different cutting lines 40. The scale lines 20 allow a 1:1 scaling during the cutting operation while respecting the proportions of the garment.
[0062] The invention makes it possible to select a set of cutting lines 40 for a given size from a selection of an item of clothing represented on an avatar 1, taking into account at least the size of the individual.
[0063] According to one embodiment, the selected portion of clothing delimited by the segmentation lines which is represented in 3D superimposed on the surface of the avatar can be replaced by a new portion of clothing recorded in a database. When the selection of the portion of clothing is made, a user can choose either to delete it or to select an available portion of clothing having identical dimensions.
[0064] According to one embodiment, the option of replacing the portion of clothing with a new portion of clothing is available only if a portion of clothing having the same dimensions is present in the database.
[0065] According to an exemplary embodiment, the portions of clothing having the same di- The selected garment portion is associated together in a database. For example, a matching index is used to link together a family of garment portions with the same dimensions.
[0066] According to an exemplary embodiment, the dimensions of the digital patterns, corresponding to the portions of clothing selected within a database or on the 3D representation, are compared with each other. Indeed, each garment is associated with a 2D digital pattern or a plurality of 2D digital patterns. Each pattern includes the segmentation lines. The selection of a portion of a garment on the 3D representation of said garment makes it possible to automatically select the portion of the corresponding 2D digital pattern delimited by the segmentation lines and possibly cutting lines determined according to the size of the individual that has been selected.
[0067] In order to generate a correspondence index between two digital patterns or two portions of digital patterns, a dimension comparison operation is preferably carried out on the digital patterns of the garment portions. A digital pattern or a portion of a digital pattern is referred to interchangeably since they can be extracted from a digital pattern comprising several portions.
[0068] To generate a correspondence index, according to one embodiment, each segment delimiting the surface of a first digital pattern or a first portion of a digital pattern is compared with each segment of the surface delimiting a second digital pattern or a second portion of a digital pattern. The segments comprise segmentation lines and / or cutting lines for a given size.
[0069] By "same dimensions" is meant substantially equal dimensions between portions that can be replaced with each other. Indeed, the garment portions may include drop edges of substantially different sizes or additional or missing accessory elements, such as additional edges, additional buttons, additional pockets, etc. The differences between garment portions may therefore vary substantially from one portion to another. These differentiating elements do not generally modify the compatibility of a garment portion that can be replaced by another garment portion.
[0070] The portions of clothing that can be replaced with each other may comprise textiles of different natures, different colors or patterns or even different stitching effects.
[0071] Thus, the invention relates to a data management system describing the portions of clothing that can be replaced with each other. When a portion of clothing is selected on a representation of a garment, a correspondence index makes it possible to extract a list of portions of clothing having properties such as military. The user is then able to select the portion of clothing to be replaced and view the 3D representation of a new garment containing the new portion of clothing. The selected portion of clothing then has dimensions of the associated digital pattern unchanged or substantially close to the digital pattern of the garment that was deleted.
[0072] For example, if we consider a garment such as a t-shirt, the garment may comprise 4 garment portions: the right sleeve, the left sleeve, the front of the t-shirt up to the neck collar and the back up to the neck collar. A user may select the left sleeve and choose a new left sleeve with another color for example in order to design a mismatched garment. In this example, a choice of several left sleeves may be suggested.
[0073] According to another example, the user can select the front side of the t-shirt in order to modify the designs.
[0074] According to one example, when a portion of clothing is selected to be replaced, the invention makes it possible to directly select the corresponding patterns.
[0075] [Fig.5] represents a second garment denoted v; and representing a dress. The garment v; comprises an upper part denoted vn and a lower part denoted vi2. In this case several segmentation lines 30 are represented. The segmentation lines 30 make it possible to define several possibilities for cutting or trimming the garment. These segmentation lines make it possible to generate two independent garments with different sizes or different cutting variants.
[0076] According to a first example, a single segmentation line 30 is represented for the selected clothing size or for the selected morphological data and / or the identified size of the individual.
[0077] According to a second example, several segmentation lines 30 are represented, as in [Fig.5], in order to offer different cutting possibilities to the user.
[0078] It is understood from this example that the invention offers a multitude of possibilities to the user for generating different items of clothing from a starting item of clothing.
[0079] In the example of [Fig.5], the user has the choice of: • keep the entire dress v; ; • keep a strapless top marked vn delimited in particular by one of the segmentation lines 30, • keep the skirt noted vi2 delimited in particular by one of the segmentation lines 30.
[0080] One advantage of segmentation lines is that they allow for a wide variety of customization of the clothing presented. These segmentation lines allow for the definition of a cutting line that is well executed. Without the guide defined by the segmentation lines, mentation, the user could make poorly designed cuts or form aberrations or areas unsuitable for cutting.
[0081] Steps of the Method for generating a digital pattern
[0082] [Fig.6] represents an embodiment of different steps of the method of the invention. A first step GEN0 aims to generate a garment noted v; from a user command by means of an electronic terminal Th A digital clothing library {vJ makes it possible to store the data within a database BDi accessible from a first remote data server SERV0.
[0083] At a minimum, a digital garment in the invention comprises an identifier of a garment or a pattern and a digital pattern. There is an embodiment in which the garment does not pre-exist the selection of a user. In this embodiment, the 3D garment is constructed automatically from a digital pattern and a generator function making it possible to link points of the pattern together. According to one embodiment, all of the cutting, segmentation and fold lines are used to generate a 3-dimensional garment. According to one embodiment, all of the symbols of a pattern are used to generate a 3-dimensional garment such as notches, darts, buttonholes, buttons, folds, zippers, adjustment lines, and finally the various markers that can be used.
[0084] According to another example, a three-dimensional definition is produced and recorded for each item of clothing. According to one embodiment, a simplified representation is proposed to the user before the garment is displayed in 3D on the avatar. The simplified representation may be a 2D or 3D representation, for example of only one side of the garment or of two sides of the garment. According to one example embodiment, this simplified representation makes it possible to show some shape elements of the garment without having to load all of the data defining the garment. One advantage of a simplified representation is mainly to represent the garment from a set of garments submitted to the user so that the user can select a garment of interest.
[0085] The digital garments v; comprise a three-dimensional representation which can be defined by a point cloud having coordinates in space. According to an exemplary embodiment, the representation is predefined by means of computer design software. According to another example, the three-dimensional representation is generated from one or more 2D digital patterns comprising cutting lines and data making it possible to reconstruct three-dimensional information.
[0086] The method of the invention comprises a step aimed at projecting a set of cutting lines and / or segmentation lines onto a 3D representation. For this purpose, the fold lines can also be used to regenerate the pattern lines. on a three-dimensional representation of the garment v;.
[0087] The database BD0 makes it possible to associate a digital garment identifier v; with a digital pattern p;. The database BD0 also makes it possible to associate each digital garment v; with a set of descriptors. The descriptors define all the variations of the garments, namely for example and in a non-exhaustive manner: - available sizes - available colors - available textiles - the different garments that can be made from a parent garment from a set of segmentation lines; - possibly variations of accessories, such as pockets, seams, brooches;
[0088] The pattern p; is not necessarily presented to the user. Only the 3D representation of the garment v; is of interest to the user.
[0089] In order to display the digital garment v;, the user can select an avatar 1. This step is shown in [Fig.6] and is denoted SEL2. The 3D avatar is produced by a remote computing unit such as a second server SERVi. Depending on the embodiments, the produced 3D avatar may be more or less personalized according to criteria defined by the user. For example, gender, size, morphology data can be defined. According to one example, skin color or hair length and other criteria still make it possible to produce an avatar as close as possible to the profile of the individual. According to one example, the avatar is obtained from a 3D scan of the individual.
[0090] The method of the invention comprises a third step GENi making it possible to generate the representation of the selected garment on the selected avatar 1. One interest is to represent how a garment draws certain shapes on the body. In addition, this representation makes it possible to appreciate how a garment falls, folds or even moves on the body of the avatar. Indeed, according to one embodiment, the avatar 1 can be oriented or deformed according to a given posture in order to represent it with the garment in certain positions. These posture deformations allow the user to appreciate how the garment cooperates with the curved lines of the avatar 1.
[0091] The method comprises a fourth step comprising the selection of a portion of a garment. This step is denoted SEL3 in [Fig.6]. The selection of the portion of the garment is determined according to segmentation lines associated with the digital pattern and defining cutting lines potentially activatable by the user. The selection of a portion of the garment delimited by a segmentation line makes it possible to remove from the selection the other part(s) of the garment arranged on the other side of the segmentation line.
[0092] One interest is to generate a new representation of the digital garment vn corresponding to a portion of the initially selected garment v;. This step is noted GEN2. This step is particularly interesting for the user, because he can visualize the new garment vn obtained from the selection made. According to an exemplary embodiment, he can also modify the appearance of the garment or modify a texture corresponding to a type of fabric.
[0093] The method of the invention comprises a step denoted GEN3 making it possible to generate a new digital pattern denoted p^ in [Fig.6]. This digital pattern p^ is generated with a set of cutting lines produced for a given size. The segmentation line has therefore changed status to become a cutting line. The pattern p^ is generated to focus the lines to be cut without taking into account the portion of the garment not selected and located beyond the segmentation line.
[0094] This step can be followed by a transmission of said digital pattern thus generated to a third remote server noted SERV2 in [Fig.6]. Digital pattern generation system
[0095] [Fig.7] represents a system of the invention comprising a first data server SERV0 comprising a database BD0 of digital clothing vi5 said clothing being able to be displayed according to a three-dimensional representation. To this end, each clothing item in a catalog comprises its 3D representation being able to be displayed superimposed on a 3D avatar representing the silhouette of an individual. A second server SERVi comprises the means for generating a 3D avatar. This may be a computer and a memory for generating a digital avatar from a parametric model of human bodies. According to another example, a catalog of 3D avatars can be recorded so that the user can select a model from among others and personalize it. A third server SERV2 is configured to retrieve the patterns generated by the method of the invention in order to make the clothing item by a dressmaker.
[0096] The invention optionally comprises an authentication server and means for administering the software executing the method of the invention. For this purpose, an operating console T2 is shown and makes it possible to administer the software. The administration may relate to the management of user accounts, the management of access rights, and the configuration of other services offered. [Fig.7] further represents a user terminal Ti making it possible to access the software implementing the method of the invention. Automatic generation of segmentation lines
[0097] The method of the invention comprises a particularly interesting implementation on the use of a software component for automatically generating segmentation lines on digital patterns. For this purpose, a set of patterns comprising segmentation lines constitutes training data for a first machine learning model. According to one example, a convolutional neural network can be implemented, of the CNN type. Any other neural network can be implemented in the method of the invention. As input to the model, characteristic data of the pattern form the input vectors. As output, an enriched digital pattern is generated with new segmentation lines. The trained model makes it possible to learn to define coherent cutting lines on a 3D plane which result in a coherent and optimized 3D representation according to user selection criteria. One advantage of this learning is to generate a multitude of segmentation lines, for example tens or even hundreds on a pattern. These segmentation lines can be advantageously selected according to the recovery of the position of a pointer on the representation of a garment in 3D. The corresponding position transposed onto a digital pattern is then associated with a nearby segmentation line. According to one embodiment, a segmentation line transposed onto the garment is proposed to the user to delimit a portion of the garment and display only a part of the latter.
[0098] An advantage of generating a multitude of segmentation lines on a pattern is to offer a user the possibility of a rich and varied design allowing a multitude of possibilities to be defined for generating a 3D garment from an initial garment. The interest of the invention is to ensure consistent cutting lines between the expression of a user wish on a 3D model and the digital pattern necessary to produce to generate this garment. Semantic query
[0099] According to one example, the generation of a digital garment is carried out from a query comprising terms characteristic of a garment. For this, all of the garments referenced in the database include labels allowing them to be associated with terms. According to one example, the terms can define the nature of the garment such as a dress, a skirt, a jacket. According to a second example, the terms can qualify the nature of the garment, such as a long dress, a low-cut skirt, a short jacket, etc. According to a third example, the terms can qualify an event for wearing the garment, such as a wedding dress, jogging pants, a jacket to shine in a club. According to another example, the terms can qualify a seasonal or meteorological characteristic, such as an autumn dress, a summer tank top, pants for winter. In another example, terms can describe a context-dependent characteristic, such as beachwear or a sweater for the mountains.
[0100] One interest is to generate a set of clothing proposals meeting the criterion defined by a semantic query. The user can then select one of the proposals in order to display the 3D digital clothing on the avatar. Acquisition of a 3D clothing model.
[0101] According to one embodiment, the method comprises acquiring a 3D model of clothing. According to one example, it may be defined by a point cloud having three-dimensional coordinates in a spatial reference frame. According to another example, the clothing may be defined by contour lines and generators. According to one example, accessories such as pockets, buttons, collars, brooches may also be acquired so as to automatically generate symbols on the generated digital pattern. According to one example, a second ML2 machine learning model may be configured so as to take as input a three-dimensional model of a clothing item and produce as output a digital pattern comprising at least cutting lines. According to one example, the digital pattern comprises fold lines.
[0102] The second ML2 machine learning model is then trained from a digital clothing model represented in 3D and the digital patterns comprising the cutting lines are known. This training makes it possible to produce a trained model capable of considering a 3D clothing model as input and producing a predicted digital pattern from a regression.
[0103] According to one example, this second ML2 machine learning model is a CNN-type convolutional neural network. Any other neural network can be implemented in the method of the invention.
[0104] An additional step of automatic control of characteristic data of the digital pattern makes it possible to correct data of the digital pattern. This control step can be implemented from business rules and an expert system comprising a knowledge base. These controls can make it possible to correct the digital pattern produced by the second ML2 machine learning model.
[0105] According to an example, the digital pattern produced by the second machine learning model ML2 is reinjected into another machine learning model trained to produce a 3D garment. The 3D garment is then compared to the known acquired 3D garment model. This other model may be, for example, the first machine learning model MLb
[0106] An algorithm implemented by software means, for example integrating a cost function, can then be implemented in order to generate a digital pattern by a convergence of a similarity indicator between the acquired 3D model and the model produced by the first machine learning model MLb.
