Description

Title of the invention: Door locking control system and corresponding method FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to securing access to an area, in particular a building. In particular, the invention relates to a system for controlling the locking of a door as well as methods of locking and unlocking with such a system. PREVIOUS ART

[0002] To secure an access door, it is known to use door opening systems with magnetic suction cups, in particular electromagnetic suction cups with power failure. These suction cups produce a force preventing opening when they are powered. Conversely, they produce a negligible force, or even zero, when they are not powered, this ensuring that the door can be opened in the event of a power cut.

[0003] When an authorized person wishes to open the door, the power supply is cut off, for example after presenting an access badge. Over the course of a day, the total time during which the power supply is cut off is generally less than 10 minutes, which is very little.

[0004] The electrical consumption of these suction cups is therefore not negligible.

[0005] There is a need to secure the opening of a door by limiting energy consumption, particularly electrical energy, while guaranteeing security of access and opening of the door in the event of a power failure. Summary of the invention

[0006] To this end, the invention relates to a system for controlling the locking of a door comprising: - a magnetic suction cup; - a power supply for the magnetic suction cup configured to provide the magnetic suction cup with power, called locking power, enabling the magnetic suction cup to lock the door in a closed configuration; - a control device configured to: • detect, at least on one side of the door, whether or not at least one person is approaching the door; • determine whether or not a person is authorized to pass through the door; • turn on the power supply at least: - in a first state, called the default unlock state, when no no one approaching the door is detected in which: either the magnetic suction cup is not powered, or the magnetic suction cup is powered with a non-zero power, called holding power, less than the locking power; - in a second state, called the locking state, when the person or each person approaching the door is unauthorized, locking state in which the locking power supplied to the magnetic suction cup prevents the door from being opened by a person; the control device also being configured so that, when at least one person approaching the door is authorized, either leaving the power supply in said default unlocking state, in which state the magnetic suction cup is preferably not powered, or putting the power supply in a third state, called the ephemeral unlocking state, in which the power supplied to the magnetic suction cup is less than the holding power.

[0007] Under normal conditions of use, over a day, the power supply may be in the default unlocked state at least 80% of the time, or even at least 90%, or even at least 95% of the time.

[0008] It can be provided that the “ephemeral unlocking state” corresponds to a state of short duration, in particular less than 20 s.

[0009] By "at least one person approaches or not the door" is meant a person who moves towards the door and / or who is close to the door, for example less than 5 m from the door.

[0010] In the present invention, the power supply is in the default unlocked state for at least 80% of the day, or even at least 90%, or even at least 95%, or even more. Thus, the magnetic suction cup is not powered or powered at the holding power for at least 80% of the day, or even at least 90%, or even at least 95%, or even more, which makes it possible to limit the electrical power consumption in comparison with the aforementioned prior art.

[0011] Power consumption can thus be reduced by at least 50%, or even at least 80% compared to the prior art, which is particularly advantageous.

[0012] Furthermore, in addition to this limitation of power consumption, security of access is guaranteed by the system according to the invention, thanks to the locking state in which the control device can put the power supply. The system also allows the door to be opened in the event of a power cut.

[0013] Thus, the system according to the invention provides at least the same safety guarantees as the systems of the prior art, while reducing the electrical consumption of the suction cup.

[0014] The system can be used on any type of door, for example doors with one or at least two leaves, pocket doors, turnstiles, etc.

[0015] Of course, the door is configured to take an open configuration and a closed configuration and to be able to pass from one to the other, for example by pivoting or sliding.

[0016] Power supply states

[0017] Default unlock state

[0018] The holding power may be between 10% and 50% of the locking power.

[0019] The holding power is advantageously sufficient to prevent the door from being opened by a gust of wind and to allow the door to be opened by a person.

[0020] Ephemeral unlock state

[0021] The ephemeral unlocking state may have a predetermined duration, in particular between 2 s or 3 s and 60 s. This duration may be adjustable.

[0022] The power supplied by the power supply in the ephemeral unlocked state may be sufficient to prevent the door from being opened by a gust of wind and to allow the door to be opened by a person, in particular by providing a reasonable effort, i.e. a conventional effort for opening a door.

[0023] The power supplied during the ephemeral unlocking state may be less than 80% of the holding power, in particular less than 50%, in particular less than 30%.

[0024] As a reminder, during the ephemeral unlocking state, it can be provided that the suction cup is not powered (in other words, it can be provided that the power supplied by the electrical power supply is zero).

[0025] Lock status

[0026] The locking power may be between 5 W and 7 W, in particular substantially equal to 6 W.

[0027] Not powered

[0028] When the magnetic suction cup is not powered, the magnetic suction cup produces a zero or substantially zero closing force.

[0029] Conversely, when the suction cup is powered in the closed configuration of the door, the magnetic suction cup produces a force in the direction of keeping the door closed.

[0030] In particular, the force exerted is a force of attraction between the plywood and the electromagnet which can make up the suction cup. Thus, "powering" means a power supply generating an electromagnetic force at the suction cup, as opposed to a power supply which does not generate an electromagnetic force (or attraction) in the sense of maintaining the door in the closed configuration, for example the power supply of an indicator light.

[0031] Magnetic suction cup

[0032] The magnetic suction cup may comprise an electromagnet.

[0033] The magnetic suction cup may comprise a metal counter plate opposite said electromagnet when the door is closed.

[0034] The locking force of the magnetic suction cup when supplied with the locking power can be between 2,000 N and 4,000 N, or approximately between 200 kgf and 400 kgf.

[0035] Power supply

[0036] The power supply can be connected to the mains.

[0037] The power supply can operate at 12V or 24V.

[0038] The power supply can provide a locking intensity, when the power supplied is the locking power, of between 400 and 600 mA, in particular of between 450 mA and 550 mA, for example equal to 480 mA.

[0039] The power supply may include a battery providing temporary power in the event of a power outage.

[0040] Closing element

[0041] The system may comprise a closing element configured to produce a holding force allowing the door to be held in a closed configuration and allowing the door to be opened by a person, in particular exerting on the door a force greater than said holding force.

[0042] The closing element can be chosen from the group consisting of magnets, in particular permanent magnets, half-turn locks, in particular without cylinder, door closers, for example spring-loaded, magnetic seals, and a mixture of these, preferably magnetic seals.

[0043] Steering device

[0044] The control device may comprise a control unit, such as any processor, for example a micro-control unit, or logic unit, and the interfaces for interacting with the environment thereof.

[0045] The control device may include electrical or network connectors and / or wireless communication means.

[0046] The control device may comprise a user interface, configured to provide information about the control device, for example a screen or a series of LEDs.

[0047] The control device may include a door opening sensor.

[0048] The control device may be configured to signal prolonged opening of the door. For example, the control device sends a signal when the door is open for a predetermined opening time, for example greater than 20 s. Said signal can be an audible alert, an alert on a control console, a digital alert sent by phone, internet or any other network.

[0049] The control device may be connected to a power supply separate from the power supply of the suction cup. In one embodiment, the power supply of the magnetic suction cup is configured to power the control device.

[0050] The piloting device may comprise an approach sensor, in particular chosen from the group consisting of motion detectors, cameras, proximity sensors, in particular radar or TOF (Time of Flight in English), and a mixture of these.

[0051] The control device may comprise an authentication unit, in particular chosen from the group consisting of keyboards, card readers, remote or nearby, cameras, fingerprint readers, retina readers, ultra-high frequency (UFH) measurement sensors, ultra wideband (UWB) sensors, and a mixture thereof. As a further variant, the authentication unit may incorporate Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology to operate with a smartphone or a BLE transponder. The authentication unit may also read identification documents at short distances, less than 50 cm, in particular less than 10 cm.

[0052] In one embodiment, the approach sensor and the authentication unit can be integrated into the same reading device.

[0053] The control device may include an access button configured to place the power supply in the unlocked state when activated.

[0054] In one embodiment, the control device is configured to detect only on one side of the door, whether at least one person is approaching the door or not. In this case, the access button is preferably positioned on the other side of the door opposite the detection side.

[0055] The control device may also be configured to put the power supply into the locking state when a person approaching the door is detected before determining whether or not the person is authorized to pass through the door. This makes it possible to prevent the door from being opened before the end of the phase of determining the person's authorization, which provides additional security.

[0056] The invention also relates, according to another of its aspects, independently or in combination with the above, to a control device configured to be connected to an electrical power supply of a magnetic suction cup of a system for controlling the locking of a door, the magnetic suction cup being capable of being powered by the electrical power supply with a power, called worm power. rusting, allowing the magnetic suction cup to lock the door in a closed configuration, the control device being configured to detect, at least on one side of the door, whether or not at least one person is approaching the door, determine whether or not a person is authorized to pass through the door and turn on the power supply at least: - in a first state, called the default unlocking state, when no person approaching the door is detected in which: either the magnetic suction cup is not powered, either the magnetic suction cup is supplied with a non-zero power, called holding power, less than a given locking power; - in a second state, called the locking state, when the person or each person approaching the door is unauthorized, locking state in which the locking power supplied to the magnetic suction cup prevents the door from being opened by a person; the control device also being configured to, when at least one person approaching the door is authorized: either leaving the power supply in said default unlock state, or putting the power supply into a third state, called the ephemeral unlock state, in which the power supplied to the magnetic suction cup is less than the holding power.

[0057] Unlocking method

[0058] The invention also relates, according to another of its aspects, in combination with the above, to a method of unlocking a door using a system as defined above, the method comprising the steps consisting of: - detect at least one person approaching the door; - determine for each person detected whether or not they are authorized to cross the door; - put the power supply in the temporary unlock state or leave the power supply in said default unlock state if at least one person or each person is authorized; - put the power supply in the default unlock state after a predetermined event.

[0059] The predetermined event is chosen from the group consisting of a predetermined duration calculated from the entry into the ephemeral unlocking state, for example a predetermined duration less than 20 s, and the non-detection of a person approaching the door.

[0060] When the control device comprises a door opening sensor, the predetermined event may be the detection by the door sensor that the door has been opened.

[0061] For example, the method may comprise the successive steps below: - detect at least one person approaching the door; - determine for each person detected whether or not they are authorized to cross the door; - put the power supply in the temporary unlock state if each person is authorized; - put the power supply into the default unlock state after a predetermined event, for example 20 s after entering the temporary unlock state.

[0062] For example, the method may comprise the successive steps below: - detect at least one person approaching the door; - determine for each person detected whether or not they are authorized to cross the door; - put the power supply into the temporary unlock state if a person is authorized; - put the power supply into the default unlock state after a predetermined event, for example 20 s after entering the temporary unlock state.

[0063] For example, the method may comprise the successive steps below: - detect at least one person approaching the door; - determine for each person detected whether or not they are authorized to cross the door; - leave the power supply in the said default unlocked state if each person is authorized.

[0064] For example, the method may comprise the successive steps below: - detect at least one person approaching the door; - determine for each person detected whether or not they are authorized to cross the door; - leave the power supply in said default unlock state if at least no one is authorized.

[0065] After entering the unlocked state, the method may comprise a step in which an unauthorized person approaching the door is detected and a step in which the power supply is entered into the locked state.

[0066] The method may comprise, after the detection step and before the determination step, a step in which the power supply is put into the locking state.

[0069] For example, the method comprises the following successive steps: - detect at least one person approaching the door; - determine for the person or persons detected whether or not they are authorized to cross the door; - put the power supply in the locked state if at least one person is unauthorized; - return the power supply to the default unlock state after a predetermined event.

[0070] For example, the method may comprise the following successive steps: - detect at least one person approaching the door; - determine for the person or persons detected whether or not they are authorized to cross the door; - put the power supply in the lock state if each person is unauthorized; - return the power supply to the default unlock state after a predetermined event.

[0072] The predetermined event may be the non-detection of a person approaching the door, the detection of an authorized person approaching the door.

[0073] The predetermined event may also be the non-detection of a person approaching the door after a predetermined duration (which may be adjustable), for example between 3s and 60s, the power supply remaining in the locked state for the entire predetermined duration.

[0074] The method may comprise, after the detection step and before the determination step- mination, a step in which the power supply is put into the lock state.

[0086] [Fig.3] [Fig.3] is a functional diagram of an example of a method according to the invention, and

[0087] [Fig.4] [Fig.4] is a functional diagram of another example of a method according to the invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0088] In the remainder of the description, elements that are identical or have identical functions bear the same reference sign. For the sake of brevity in this description, they are not described with reference to each of the figures, only the differences between the embodiments being described.

[0089] In the figures, the actual proportions have not been respected, for the sake of clarity.

[0090] [Fig.l] illustrates a first example of a system 1 for locking a door P according to the invention.

[0091] The system 1 comprises a magnetic suction cup 2, which notably comprises a electromagnet 3 and a metal counterplate 4. The electromagnet 3 is for example positioned on the frame of the door P and the counterplate 4 on the door P. Electromagnet 3 and counterplate 4 are opposite each other when door P is closed.

[0092] The suction cup 2 is connected by a wire 6 to an electrical power supply 5 configured to provide the suction cup 2 with power, called locking power, allowing the suction cup 2 to lock the door P in a closed configuration.

[0093] In this example, the power supply 5 operates at 12 V and is connected to the mains. When the power supply 5 provides the locking power to the suction cup 2, the electrical intensity is for example equal to 480 mA.

[0094] The locking power is for example equal to approximately 6 W.

[0095] When supplied with the locking power, the suction cup 2 can produce a closing force, i.e. the force to be countered to open the door P, of between 2,000 N and 4,000 N, or approximately between 200 kgf and 400 kgf.

[0096] The system 1 also comprises a control device 10 comprising a control unit 11.

[0097] The control unit is presented for example in the form of a processor and a data memory in which computer instructions executable by said processor are stored, or in the form of a microcontroller.

[0098] In other words, the functions and steps described can be implemented in the form of a computer program or via hardware components (e.g. programmable gate arrays). In particular, the functions and steps operated by the control unit or the control device can be carried out by instruction sets or computer modules implemented in a processor or controller or be carried out by dedicated electronic components or components of the programmable logic circuit type (or FPGA which is the acronym for field-programmable gate array, which literally corresponds to in-situ programmable gate array) or of the application-specific integrated circuit type (or ASIC which is the acronym for application-specific integrated circuit, which literally corresponds to application-specific integrated circuit). It is also possible to combine computer parts and electronic parts.

[0099] The control unit is thus an electronic and / or computer unit. When it is specified that said control unit or device is configured to carry out a given operation, this means that the unit or device comprises computer instructions and the corresponding execution means which make it possible to carry out said operation and / or that the unit or device comprises corresponding electronic components.

[0100] The control unit 11 may also include a user interface, in this example a series of light diodes.

[0101] The control unit 11 is powered by the power supply 5 via a wire 12.

[0102] The control unit 11 also includes a connector 13 connected to the power supply. 5 in order to control the latter, as described below.

[0103] The control device 10 also comprises one or more approach sensors 15 capable of detecting whether a person is approaching the door P or not, in this example from only one side of the door P. The approach sensors 15 operate for example with radar technology and can be positioned on only one side of the door P.

[0104] The approach sensors 15 are connected by a connector 16 to an authentication unit 17, also called a reading head. The authentication unit 17 is configured to determine whether or not a person is authorized to pass through the door P.

[0105] For example, the authentication unit 17 operates hands-free, that is to say that the person approaching does not need to take out a key, a badge or other similar element. The authentication unit is for example capable of reading an access card at less than 3 m. The authentication unit 17 operates for example with ultra-high frequency (UFH) measurement sensors or ultra wide band (UWB) sensors. As a further variant, the authentication unit 17 can incorporate Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology to operate with a smartphone or a BLE transponder. The authentication unit 17 can also read identification documents at a short distance, less than 10 cm.

[0106] The authentication unit 17 is connected by a connector 18 to the control unit 11 in order to transmit information on the possible detection of a person approaching the door and on whether or not this person is authorized.

[0107] The control device 10 is configured to supply the power supply 5 at least: - in a default unlocked state when no person approaching the door P is detected by the proximity sensors 15 in which: either suction cup 2 is not powered, either the suction cup 2 is supplied with a non-zero power, called holding power, lower than the locking power, for example lower than 50% of the locking power; - in a locking state when the or each person approaching the door P is detected by the proximity sensors 15 and is unauthorized according to the determination of the authentication unit 17, locking state in which the locking power supplied to the suction cup 2 prevents the opening of the door P by a person;

[0108] The control device 10 is also configured to, when at least one person approaching the door P detected by the proximity sensors 15 is authorized, either leave the power supply 5 in said default unlocking state, according to which the suction cup 2 may be unpowered or powered with the holding power, for example to prevent the door from being opened accidentally by a gust of wind, or put the power supply 5 in a temporary unlocking state, in which the power supplied to the suction cup is less than the holding power (for example when, before said detection, the power supply 5 was powered with said holding power to prevent the door from being opened accidentally).

[0109] The ephemeral unlocking state may have a predetermined duration of between 2s and 10s.

[0110] The power supplied during the ephemeral unlocking state may be less than 50% of the holding power, in particular less than 30%.

[0111] The control device 10 may comprise a door opening sensor 20 P, connected to the control unit 11 via a connector 21.

[0112] The control unit 11 can be configured to send an alert, for example an audible one, to an administrator when the door P is open for a duration greater than a predetermined duration, for example 20 s.

[0113] The control device 10 may comprise an access button 22, connected by a connector 23 to the control unit 11.

[0114] The access button 22 is positioned on one side of the door, opposite the side of the door P where the approach sensors 15 are positioned.

[0115] When a user presses the button 22, the control device 10 puts the power supply 5 either in said default unlocking state or in said ephemeral unlocking state.

[0116] To control the power supply 5, the control device 10 can transmit, via the connector 13, a control signal, for example using a PWM output with variation of the duty cycle.

[0117] A control circuit, composed of electronic components such as transistors, makes it possible to interface between the control signal and a power supply validation circuit 5.

[0118] The control unit 11 and / or the power supply 5 may include a protection circuit making it possible to protect the elements from a possible overvoltage, in particular linked to the suction cup 2.

[0119] The control device 10 also comprises a measuring circuit 30 configured to measure the electrical intensity supplied to the suction cup 2. This measuring circuit 30 can make it possible to detect any excess consumption of the suction cup 2.

[0120] [Fig.2] illustrates a variant of system 1 of [Fig.l].

[0121] In this variant, the power supply 5 of the suction cup 2 no longer supplies the device of control 10. The control device 10 is powered by a second power supply 35 via a wire 37. Such a power distribution can also be applied to the mode of realization of [Fig.l].

[0122] In addition, the system 1 comprises a closing element 36, in this example a magnetic seal, configured to produce a holding force allowing the door P to be held in a closed configuration and allowing the door P to be opened by a person exerting on the door a force greater than said holding force.

[0123] The magnetic seal may have a closing force of between 10 and 50 N / cm, for example substantially equal to 24 N / cm.

[0124] [Fig.3] illustrates an example of a method of using a system 1 according to the invention.

[0125] At the start of the method, in step E0, the gate P is closed and the power supply 5 is in the default unlocking state.

[0126] With the system 1 of [Fig.l], in the default unlocking state, the suction cup 2 is supplied with the holding power, less than the locking power. The holding power is sufficient to prevent the door P from opening by a gust of wind in particular. Alternatively, for example in a location not subject to gusts of wind, it can be provided that in the default unlocking state, the suction cup is not supplied so that it does not exert a retaining force opposing the opening of the door.

[0127] With system 1 of [Fig.2], in the default unlocked state, the suction cup 2 is not powered. In this case, it is the closing element 36 which keeps the door P closed and prevents it from opening in the event of a gust of wind.

[0128] In a second step E1, the approach sensors 15, or at least one of the approach sensors 15, detects one or more persons approaching the door P. As a safety measure, the control device 10 can put the power supply 17 in the locked state in order to secure access.

[0129] The authentication unit 17 determines, for each person, whether or not they are authorized to pass through the door P.

[0130] If in step E1, the authentication unit 17 determines that at least one person is not authorized, the control device 10 puts, in a step N1, the power supply 5 into the locking state. In this locking state, the locking power supplied to the suction cup 2 prevents the door P from being opened by a person.

[0131] It can be expected that the electrical consumption of system 1 is maximum during step NI.

[0132] As long as the approach sensors 15 and the authentication unit 17 determine that at least one unauthorized person is approaching the door, the power supply 5 is kept in the locked state, which ensures the security of access.

[0133] When no person approaching the door is detected after a pre-set time determined dN (preferably adjustable), for example between 3s and 60s, the control device 10 returns the power supply 5 to the default unlocking state.

[0134] If in step E1, the authentication unit 17 determines that the detected person(s) are authorized, the control device 10 puts, in a step A1, the power supply 5 either in the default unlocking state or in the ephemeral unlocking state. In both cases, the closing force of the suction cup is sufficiently weak so that a person can open the door P without major difficulty.

[0135] It can be provided that, after a predetermined duration dA, for example 10 s, the control device 10 returns the power supply 5, if this is not already the case, to the default unlocking state.

[0136] However, before the end of the predetermined duration dA, if the control device 10 detects an unauthorized person approaching the door P, the control device 10 passes to the step NI described previously.

[0137] In an alternative, illustrated in [Fig.4], if at step E1 at least one detected person is authorized, the control device puts, in step A1B, the power supply 5 either in the default unlocking state or in the ephemeral unlocking state. In both cases, the closing force of the suction cup is sufficiently weak so that a person can open the door P without major difficulty.

[0138] After a predetermined duration dA, for example 10 s, the control device 10 returns the power supply 5, if this is not already the case, to the default unlocking state.

[0139] If in step E1, the authentication unit 17 determines that each detected person is unauthorized, the control device 10 puts, in a step N1b, the power supply 5 into the locking state. In this locking state, the locking power supplied to the suction cup 2 prevents the door P from being opened by a person.

[0140] When no unauthorized person approaching the door is detected after a predetermined duration dN (preferably adjustable), for example between 3s and 60s, the control device 10 returns the power supply 5 to the default unlocking state and returns to step E0.

[0141] If, during step Nlb, the control device 10 detects an authorized person approaching the door P, the control device 10 moves to step Alb described previously.

[0142] The invention is not limited to the examples which have just been described.

[0143] In particular, the architecture of the control device 10 may be different.

[0144] For example, the approach sensors can be chosen from the group consisting of motion detectors, cameras, proximity sensors, in particular radar or TOF, and a mixture of these.

[0145] For example, the authentication unit, in particular chosen from the group consisting of by keyboards, card readers, remote or near, cameras, fingerprint readers, retina readers, ultra-high frequency (UFH) sensors, ultra-wideband (UWB) sensors, and a mixture of these.

[0146] The door may be different, for example with at least two leaves or a pocket door.

[0147] The invention is not limited to the embodiments illustrated in the drawings.

[0148] The approach sensor(s) 15 and the authentication unit(s) 17 may be integrated into the same reading device. In other words, the sensors 15 may also be embedded in the authentication unit(s) 17.

[0149] Furthermore, the term "comprising" does not exclude other elements or steps. Furthermore, features or steps that have been described with reference to one of the embodiments set forth above may also be used in combination with other features or steps of other embodiments set forth above.
