CHIMNEY OUTLET SUPPORT DEVICE FOR FLEXIBLE TUBING WITHOUT INTERVENTION ON THE ROOF

Abstract

The invention relates to a device for holding a flexible tubing 1 at the outlet of a flue allowing a secure and rapid installation without requiring intervention on the roof. The device comprises a foldable grapple 2 fixed to the end of the flexible tubing 1, incorporating a rain cap 6 and an anti-bird protection 5. During installation, the grapple 2 is inserted folded into the flue from below. Once the flexible tubing 1 is positioned at the chimney outlet, a sharp blow given by a chimney sweeping rod, or any other equivalent device, under the rain cap 6 allows the legs 4 of the grapple 2 to be unfolded. The flexible tubing 1 is then lowered until the grapple 2 rests on the cap 8 of the flue. Figure to be published with the abstract: Fig. 1

Title of the invention: DEVICE FOR HOLDING FLEXIBLE TUBING AT THE CHIMNEY OUTLET WITHOUT INTERVENTION ON THE ROOF SUMMARY

[0001] The present invention relates to a device for holding a flexible tubing 1 at the outlet of a flue 7, allowing safe and rapid installation without requiring intervention on the roof. The device comprises a foldable grapple 2 fixed to the end of the flexible tubing 1, incorporating a rain cap 6 and an anti-bird protection 5. During installation, the grapple 2 is inserted folded into the flue 7 from below. Once the flexible tubing 1 is positioned at the chimney outlet 8, a sharp blow given by a chimney sweeping rod, or any other equivalent device, under the rain cap 6 allows the legs 4 of the grapple 2 to be unfolded. [0005] The present invention relates to a device for holding a flexible tubing 1 at the outlet of a smoke duct 7 intended to simplify and secure the installation without requiring the intervention of an installer on the roof. The device comprises a flexible tubing 1 made of stainless steel or plastic and a foldable grapple 2 incorporating a rain cap 6 and an anti-bird protection 5.

[0006] The foldable grapple 2 is specially designed to be attached to the end of the flexible tubing 1 using a clamp 3. This clamp 3 ensures a strong and secure attachment of the grapple 2 to the flexible tubing 1, preventing any risk of detachment during use. The grapple 2 is made of a heat- and weather-resistant material, is provided with a minimum of two legs 4, and is hinged so that it can be folded to facilitate its insertion into the flue 7. Once inserted, the grapple 2 is unfolded using an external action.

[0007] Integrated into the grapple 2, a rain cap 6 is provided to prevent the infiltration of rainwater into the smoke duct 7. This rain cap 6 may be conical in shape or any other suitable type to ensure effective protection against bad weather.

[0008] In addition, an anti-bird protection 5 is also integrated into the grapple 2 to prevent birds from inserting themselves into the flexible tubing 1. This protection may consist of grids, bars or other suitable devices.

[0009] During installation, the flexible liner 1 is inserted from the bottom of the flue 7, with the folded grapple 2 attached to its end. Once the liner reaches the chimney outlet 8, the installer inserts a sweeping rod, or any other equivalent device, inside the flexible liner 1. The sweeping rod, or any other equivalent device, is pushed until it comes into contact with the rain cap 6 of the grapple 2.

[0010] To deploy the grapple 2, the installer gives a sharp blow with the chimney sweeping rod, or any other equivalent device, under the rain cap 6. This sharp blow causes the legs 4 of the grapple 2 to open, which gradually deploys until it forms a solid grip on the cap 8 of the smoke duct 7.

[0011] Once the grapple 2 is correctly deployed, the flexible tubing 1 is gently lowered until the grapple 2 rests on the cap 8. Thus, the flexible tubing 1 is correctly positioned and secured without requiring intervention by the installer on the roof.

[0012] The fixing device described in the present invention therefore allows a secure and rapid installation of the flexible tubing 1 in a smoke duct 7, thus offering advantages in terms of safety and efficiency, by avoiding the installer having to climb onto the roof.

1. Foldable grapple (2) allowing the holding of a flexible tubing (1) at the outlet of a smoke duct (7), said grapple (2) integrating on the one hand a rain cap (6) and a volatile protection (5) and being provided on the other hand with at least two legs (4), said grapple (2) being deployable from a position in which the legs (4) are folded to a deployed position in which the legs (4) are open, thus allowing the grapple (2) to be placed and kept engaged on the cap (8) of the smoke duct (7).

2. Foldable grapple (2) according to claim 1, characterized in that the rain cap has a conical shape.

3. A collapsible grapple (2) according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterized in that the anti-bird protection (5) consists of grids or bars arranged to prevent birds from entering the flexible tubing (1).

4. Device for holding a flexible tubing (1) at the outlet of a smoke duct (7), comprising a flexible tubing (1) and a foldable grapple (2) according to any one of the preceding claims, said grapple being fixed at the end of the flexible tubing (1).

5. Holding device according to claim 4, characterized in that the foldable grapple (2) is fixed to the end of the flexible tubing (1) by means of a clamp (3).

6. Holding device according to claim 4 or claim 5, characterized in that the flexible tubing (1) is made of stainless steel.

7. Holding device according to claim 4 or claim 5, characterized in that the flexible tubing (1) is made of plastic.

Method for installing a flexible tubing (1) at the outlet of a smoke duct (7) by means of a grapple according to any one of claims 1 to 3, said method comprising the steps of: - fixing the grapple (2) at the end of the flexible tubing (1), the legs (4) of said grapple (2) being in the folded position, - introducing the flexible tubing (1) into the smoke duct (7), from the bottom of said duct to the outlet of said duct, insert a chimney sweep or equivalent device into the flue (7) until it stops against the rain cap (6), open the legs (4) of the grapple (2) by applying a sharp blow to the rain cap (6) using the chimney sweeping rod or equivalent device inserted into the flue (7), lower the flexible tubing (1) fitted with the grapple (2) until the latter rests on the cap (8) of the smoke duct (7).
