Abstract

A system for detecting faults within a fluid flowing in a circuit comprising fluidic equipment, and for preventing equipment failures related to those faults. The invention essentially consists of a system for detecting fault(s) likely to cause a failure, or even breakage, of fluidic equipment installed in a fluidic circuit. The system comprises an electrical sensor with distributed electrodes, preferably regularly spaced around a section upstream of the equipment, with their tips flush with the inner wall of the section. Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) measurements are performed using either trigonometric signals or signals applied to pairs of electrodes, implemented simultaneously to excite all the electrodes or sequentially on a subset of electrodes. This measurement allows for a non-invasive and non-destructive visualization, in real time and continuously, of the interior of the section and therefore of the fluid flowing within it, by measuring its electrical properties (potential and electric current).
