[0001] The present invention relates to an interactive comfort system, in particular for a vehicle. The vehicle may be of the land, sea or air type.

[0002] Heating panels are known which comprise a plurality of electrodes configured to deliver heat by Joule effect by supplying electric current to a conductive coating. For example, reference may be made to document US2016059669.

[0003] In particular, there is a need to further integrate several functions, particularly in an on-board system on board a vehicle.

[0004] The invention thus relates to an interactive comfort system, in particular intended to be installed inside the passenger compartment of a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, the system comprising: - a heating structure comprising: • at least one resistive layer arranged to produce heat when this layer is traversed by an electric current, this resistive layer being in particular a carbon-based sheet deposited on a substrate, • at least two electrodes in electrical contact with the resistive layer so as to allow an electric current to flow through the resistive layer between these two electrodes, - a capacitive sensor arranged to detect, in a detection zone, a presence of a part of a passenger, for example an arm, an elbow, a hand or a finger of the passenger, the capacitive sensor comprising at least one capacitive electrode, - an insulating layer disposed between the capacitive sensor and the heating structure, arranged to electrically insulate the capacitive sensor from the resistive layer and the electrodes of the heating structure, - at least one active protective electrical track, this track being printed on the insulating layer and being configured to protect the capacitive sensor from electromagnetic interference.

[0005] According to one aspect of the invention, the capacitive sensor is configured to detect variations in the intensity of an electric field between one of the capacitive electrodes and, for example, a hand, by measuring the electrical capacitance established between the capacitive electrode and the hand (case of self-capacitive detection which uses only one of the electrodes).

[0006] Alternatively, the capacitive sensor is configured to detect variations in the intensity of an electric field established between two capacitive electrodes and disturbed by the hand (case of mutual capacitance detection).

[0007] According to one aspect of the invention, the insulating layer arranged between the capacitive sensor and the heating structure is flexible, i.e. capable of taking a predetermined shape by deformation.

[0008] According to one aspect of the invention, the insulating layer comprises a film made of electrically insulating material, for example acrylic or epoxy or polyurethane or ARUR (acrylic and urethane mixture).

[0009] Alternatively, the insulating layer is an insulating varnish, for example a silicone varnish, a fluoropolymer varnish, a fluorocarbon varnish or a per-fluoroether varnish.

[0010] According to one aspect of the invention, the capacitive sensor is arranged to acquire a setting temperature entered by a passenger.

[0011] According to one aspect of the invention, the interactive comfort system is arranged to detect variations in the intensity of the electric field between the capacitive sensor and a part of the human body.

[0012] According to one aspect of the invention, the capacitive sensor comprises a plurality of capacitive electrodes.

[0013] According to one aspect of the invention, each capacitive electrode comprises an emission surface and a connection track.

[0014] According to one aspect of the invention, the emission surfaces of the capacitive electrodes are rectangular in shape.

[0015] According to one aspect of the invention, the emission surfaces of the capacitive electrodes each define a proximity detection sub-zone.

[0016] These proximity detection sub-zones together form the detection zone of the interactive comfort system.

[0017] According to one aspect of the invention, the emission surfaces of the capacitive electrodes form a sliding control bar, namely these emission surfaces are aligned, side by side with a small space, for example between 0.8 mm and 1.2 mm, preferably 1 mm, between them, in a rectilinear row.

[0018] According to one aspect of the invention, the interactive comfort system is configured to identify the detection sub-zone which detects proximity or touch of a part of the human body.

[0019] This makes it possible to locate the finger or hand on the surface of the interactive comfort system, and potentially selectively control comfort based on this location.

[0020] According to one aspect of the invention, the capacitive sensor is arranged to transmit to a control unit a measurement signal linked to the position of the part of the human body detected on the surface of the interactive comfort system.

[0021] In particular, this position corresponds to the selection by the passenger of a control of the interactive comfort system.

[0022] According to one aspect of the invention, the control unit is electrically connected to the capacitive sensor and to the heating structure.

[0023] According to one aspect of the invention, the control unit is arranged to deliver a set temperature value as a function of this adjustment temperature entered by the passenger.

[0024] According to one aspect of the invention, the control unit is arranged to generate an electrical control signal for the heating structure, this electrical control signal being configured to control the temperature of the heating structure.

[0025] According to one aspect of the invention, the heating structure is controlled by a PMW control signal whose duty cycle is adjustable according to the required heating power.

[0027] According to one aspect of the invention, the system is arranged to generate an electrical control signal for the capacitive sensor, this electrical control signal for the capacitive sensor being a detection signal passing through the capacitive electrodes.

[0028] According to one aspect of the invention, the control signal of the capacitive sensor and the control signal of the active protection electrical track are generated by the control unit.

[0029] According to one aspect of the invention, this electrical protection of the capacitive sensor by the active protective electrical track allows the sensor to operate in a precise manner to perform in particular a detection of a touch on the interactive comfort system.

[0030] According to one aspect of the invention, the electrical control signal of the active protection electrical track is a copy of the control signal of the capacitive sensor.

[0031] According to one aspect of the invention, the system comprises a follower amplifier configured to produce a copy of the signal from the capacitive sensor, this copied signal being applied to the active protection electrical track.

[0032] According to another embodiment of the invention, the active protective electrical track is electrically connected to the ground electrode of the heating structure, and is placed at a fixed potential of OV.

[0033] We then speak of passive shielding, not controlled by electronics.

[0034] In the absence of such an electrical protection mode, a strong electric field may appear between the heating structure and the capacitive electrodes of the capacitive sensor, which has the consequence of generating a strong parasitic capacitance which would distort the measurement of the capacitance between the capacitive electrodes of the capacitive sensor and the part of the human body.

[0035] Thanks to the invention, the intensity of the electric field between the heating structure and the capacitive sensor is reduced, which results in having a low parasitic capacitance on the side of the heating structure.

[0037] According to one aspect of the invention, the active protective electrical track is a conductive electrode, i.e. an electrically conductive track.

[0038] According to one aspect of the invention, the active protection electrical track comprises a rectangular portion framing the sliding control bar and the connection tracks of the capacitive electrodes of the capacitive sensor.

[0039] According to one aspect of the invention, the active protective electrical track comprises separation portions extending between each of the capacitive electrodes of the capacitive sensor.

[0040] According to one aspect of the invention, the heating structure comprises an electrode network comprising a plurality of distribution electrodes and a plurality of contact electrodes supplied with electric current by the distribution electrodes.

[0041] The distribution electrodes can be seen as “parent” electrodes and the contact electrodes as “child” electrodes.

[0042] According to one aspect of the invention, the contact electrodes are, at least for some of them, in particular for all the contact electrodes of the electrode network, parallel to each other.

[0043] According to one aspect of the invention, the distribution electrodes are arranged to conduct electric current from an electrical source to the contact electrodes, several contact electrodes being connected to the same distribution electrode.

[0044] According to one aspect of the invention, at least one of the distribution electrodes is rectilinear over at least part of its length, and the contact electrodes which are associated with this distribution electrode are connected, for example perpendicularly, to this distribution electrode.

[0045] According to one aspect of the invention, the distribution electrodes may have different shapes, in particular curved with rounded edges.

[0046] According to one aspect of the invention, the distribution electrodes may or may not be parallel to each other.

[0047] According to one aspect of the invention, the electrode network comprises at least two distribution electrodes which are parallel to each other over at least part of their length, and their associated contact electrodes are arranged between these two distribution electrodes and are alternated with an inter-distance which decreases in relation to the decrease in the voltage present between the pairs of electrodes so as to maintain the electrical power between the pairs of contact electrodes substantially uniform.

[0048] According to one aspect of the invention, the electrodes and the resistive layer are carried on a substrate made of a flexible material capable of taking a predetermined shape by deformation, this substrate being in particular also extensible.

[0049] According to one aspect of the invention, the resistive layer is deposited on the substrate, and is in the form of a sheet, in particular an ink sheet. This sheet is in particular of substantially constant thickness over its entire surface area.

[0050] According to one aspect of the invention, the electrodes are deposited on the substrate by printing, screen printing or lamination of several materials.

[0054] This nonwoven may comprise a mixture of polypropylene fibers and / or polyester fibers. Other fibers may be used, for example natural fibers.

[0055] The threads forming the substrate may or may not be extensible.

[0056] According to one aspect of the invention, the substrate may be a flexible plastic sheet or a foam such as TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane).

[0057] According to one aspect of the invention, the substrate has a surface area of at least 10 cm2, or at least 50 cm2, or at least 500 cm2.

[0076] [Fig.l] shows a passenger compartment 100 of a motor vehicle V. Doors 101 and the roof 102 of the passenger compartment are also shown. Seats 103 for passengers are also visible.

[0077] Generally, the interactive comfort system 1 can be used to form a component 120 chosen from one of the following habitable components: a component designed to be integrated into a vehicle door, a component designed to be integrated into a dashboard, a footwell trim component, a component of a roof or passenger compartment roof trim, an armrest trim component, a component of a glove box, a pillar dressing component.

[0078] [Fig.l] shows the use case in a vehicle roof.

[0079] In the example described, interactive comfort systems 1 are integrated into the roof 102 of the passenger compartment.

[0080] The passenger compartment component 120 which comprises the interactive comfort system 1 is independent of a seat 103 of the vehicle.

[0081] The passenger compartment component 120 which includes the interactive comfort system 1 is arranged to heat by thermal radiation or by thermal conduction or thermal contact, and not by heating by heat transported by air in forced movement within the passenger compartment.

[0082] As illustrated in [Fig.2], the interactive comfort system comprises a heating structure 50, comprising a resistive layer 51 arranged to produce heat when this layer is traversed by an electric current I.

[0083] The heating structure 50 further comprises two distribution electrodes 52, which are in electrical contact with the resistive layer 51 so as to allow an electric current I to flow through the resistive layer 51 between these two electrodes 52.

[0084] The resistive layer 51 is a carbon-based sheet, for example an ink sheet, of substantially constant thickness over its entire surface area.

[0085] This resistive layer is deposited on a substrate 58.

[0086] These distribution electrodes 52 have parallel sections 53 between which the resistive layer 51 is located, and transverse sections 54 which are connected to electrical supply wires 55.

[0087] The electrodes 52 and the resistive layer 51 are carried on the substrate 58 made of a flexible material capable of taking a predetermined shape by deformation, this substrate being in particular also extensible.

[0088] The electrodes 52 are deposited on the substrate 58 by printing, screen printing or lamination of several materials.

[0089] The electrodes 52 are made of conductive material, in particular metallic material such as ink charged with conductive particles, in particular silver or copper particles.

[0090] Alternatively, the electrodes are metallic adhesive tapes, for example copper.

[0091] Furthermore, the resistive layer 51 is a continuous layer, and is deposited on the substrate by printing, screen printing or lamination of several materials.

[0092] The resistive layer 51 is present on one face of the substrate 58, opposite the functional face of the device 1.

[0093] The substrate 58 is of the textile type, woven or knitted, or of the non-woven type.

[0094] The wires forming the substrate 58 may be extensible, or not.

[0095] The nonwoven may comprise a mixture of polypropylene fibers and / or polyester fibers. Other fibers may be used, for example natural fibers.

[0096] Alternatively, the substrate 58 may be a flexible plastic sheet or a foam such as TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane).

[0097] The substrate 58 has a thickness of less than 1 cm, and a surface area of at least 10 cm2.

[0098] In another example illustrated in [Fig. 3], the heating structure 50 can be replaced, in the interactive comfort system 1, by a heating structure 70 which comprises an array of electrodes 71 as described below.

[0099] This network of electrodes 71 comprises two rectilinear distribution electrodes 72 and a plurality of contact electrodes 73 supplied with electric current by the distribution electrodes 72.

[0100] The distribution electrodes 72 can be seen as “parent” electrodes and the contact electrodes 73 as “child” electrodes.

[0101] The distribution electrodes 72 are parallel to each other over a portion of their length. The contact electrodes are arranged between these two distribution electrodes and are alternated with an inter-distance which decreases in relation to the decrease in the voltage present between the pairs of electrodes so as to maintain the electrical power between the pairs of contact electrodes substantially uniform.

[0102] Several contact electrodes 73 are connected to the same distribution electrode 72, along a right angle.

[0103] The contact electrodes 73 are parallel to each other, and form pairs each associated with a resistive layer 75.

[0104] These layers 75 are separated from each other and form several heating zones, for example with repetitive patterns.

[0105] In another example not illustrated, the distribution electrodes 72 may have different shapes, in particular curved with rounded edges.

[0106] [Fig.4][Fig.4] represents a top view of an interactive comfort system of [Fig.l];

[0107] The interactive comfort system comprises 1 a heating structure 50 as described in [Fig.2], comprising two distribution electrodes 52 and a resistive layer 51.

[0108] The interactive comfort system 1 comprises a control unit 80, electrically connected to the heating structure 50 and to the capacitive sensor 90.

[0109] The capacitive sensor 90 is arranged to detect, in a detection zone 96, a presence of a part of a passenger, for example an arm, an elbow, a hand or a finger of the passenger.

[0110] The capacitive sensor comprises seven capacitive electrodes 91, and an active protective electrical track 95 printed on an insulating layer not shown here, and configured to protect the capacitive sensor from electromagnetic interference.

[0111] The capacitive sensor is for example arranged to acquire a setting temperature entered by a passenger.

[0112] Each capacitive electrode 91 comprises an emission surface 93, and a connection track 92.

[0113] The emission surfaces 93 of the capacitive electrodes are rectangular in shape, and each defines a proximity detection sub-zone.

[0114] These proximity detection sub-zones together form the detection zone 96 of the interactive comfort system.

[0115] The emission surfaces 93 are aligned side by side with a small space, for example between 0.8 mm and 1.2 mm, preferably 1 mm, between them, in a rectilinear row. They thus form a sliding control bar 97.

[0116] The active protective electrical track 95 is a conductive electrode, i.e. an electrically conductive track.

[0117] The active electrical protection track 95 comprises a rectangular portion 98 framing the sliding control bar 97 and the connection tracks 93 of the capacitive electrodes 91 of the capacitive sensor 90.

[0118] The capacitive sensor 90 is configured to detect variations in the intensity of an electric field between one of the capacitive electrodes 91 and, for example, a hand, by measuring the electrical capacitance established between the capacitive electrodes 91 and the hand.

[0119] The interactive comfort system 1 is configured to identify the detection sub-area that detects proximity or touch of a part of the human body, in order to locate the finger or hand on the surface of the interactive comfort system and to selectively control the comfort based on this location.

[0120] The capacitive sensor 90 is arranged to transmit to the control unit 80 a measurement signal linked to the position of the part of the human body detected on the surface of the interactive comfort system 1, this position corresponding to the selection by the passenger of a command of the interactive comfort system.

[0121] The control unit 80 is arranged to deliver a set temperature value as a function of this adjustment temperature entered by the passenger, and to generate an electrical control signal PMW of the heating structure 50 whose duty cycle is adjustable as a function of the required heating power.

[0122] The control unit 80 is also arranged to generate an electrical control signal for the capacitive sensor 90, i.e. a detection signal passing through the capacitive electrodes 91.

[0123] The control unit 80 also generates an electrical control signal for the active protection electrical track 95 to actively reduce the intensity of an electric field between the capacitive electrodes 91 and the active protection electrical track 95. This electrical control signal for the active protection electrical track is a copy of the control signal for the capacitive sensor.

[0124] For example, the system comprises a follower amplifier, not shown here, configured to produce a copy of the signal from the capacitive sensor 90, applied to the active protection electrical track 95.

[0125] In another embodiment not shown, the active protective electrical track 95 is electrically connected to the ground electrode of the structure heating, and is placed at a fixed potential of OV. We then speak of passive shielding, not controlled by electronics.

[0126] This electrical protection of the capacitive sensor 90 by the active protective electrical track allows the sensor to operate in a precise manner to perform in particular a detection of a touch on the interactive comfort system.

[0127] In the absence of such an electrical protection mode, a strong electric field may appear between the heating structure 50 and the capacitive electrodes 91 of the capacitive sensor, which has the consequence of generating a strong parasitic capacitance which would distort the measurement of the capacitance between the capacitive electrodes of the capacitive sensor and the part of the human body.

[0128] Thanks to the invention, the intensity of the electric field between the heating structure 50 and the capacitive sensor 90 is reduced, which results in having a low parasitic capacitance on the side of the heating structure.

[0129] The measurement of the capacitance between the capacitive electrodes of the capacitive sensor and the part of the human body is also less sensitive to electromagnetic disturbances or temperature variations.

[0130] The invention therefore makes it possible to control the heating structure to perform a proximity detection function.

[0131] [Fig.5] represents a top view of an interactive comfort system of [Fig.l] according to another embodiment of the invention, in which the active protection electrical track comprises separation portions 99 extending between each of the capacitive electrodes 91 of the capacitive sensor.

[0132] [Fig. 6] is a schematic representation, in section, of an interactive comfort system according to the invention

[0133] [Fig.6] represents the interactive comfort system 1 comprising: - a heating structure 50 - a capacitive sensor 90 comprising a capacitive electrode 91, - an insulating layer 130 arranged between the capacitive sensor and the structure heating, arranged to electrically isolate the capacitive sensor from the resistive layer and the electrodes of the heating structure, - an active protective electrical track 95, this track being printed on the insulating layer and being configured to protect the capacitive sensor from electromagnetic interference.

[0134] The insulating layer 130 is flexible, that is to say capable of taking a predetermined shape by deformation.

[0135] The insulating layer 130 comprises a film made of electrically insulating material, for example acrylic or epoxy or polyurethane or ARUR (acrylic and urethane mixture).

[0136] Alternatively, the insulating layer 130 is an insulating varnish, for example a silicone varnish, a fluoropolymer varnish, a fluorocarbon varnish or a per-fluoroether varnish.
