Abstract
A method is implemented in a vehicle comprising an automated gearbox and comprising at least one primary shaft associated with a clutch and capable of being selectively coupled to a forward idler gear or a reverse idler gear, and a non-thermal prime mover capable of being coupled to this clutch to provide it with a torque depending on a machine speed. This method comprises a step (10-30) in which, when the primary shaft is coupled to one of the idler gears and a request for coupling to the other of these idler gears is received, the machine speed is reduced in order to reduce the difference between the speeds of the primary shaft and the other idler gear to be coupled, then a zero prime mover torque is imposed, to finalize the requested coupling to this other idler gear.
