Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Self-supporting gantry serving as balconies technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of building and more particularly to the field of building renovation and improvement.
[0002] One of the objectives of the present invention is to provide building professionals with a simple and easy-to-install solution to improve existing buildings by integrating an exterior (a balcony) without altering the facade in order to avoid any thermal bridge and any degradation of the facade.
[0003] Thus, the present invention will find many advantageous applications in the field of building, in particular for landlords and managers of buildings without balconies.
[0004] Obviously, the present invention will also find other advantageous applications for architects and builders who wish to offer a balcony. The present invention will also find advantageous applications for property managers who wish to enhance the value of a condominium. Previous art
[0005] Rising temperatures have become a widespread and persistent phenomenon that is difficult to control. Summers are becoming increasingly difficult to endure, particularly in large cities.
[0006] Lifestyles are also changing with the generalization of teleworking, which means that people stay at home more often during the day.
[0007] For at least these reasons, people increasingly feel the need to have an outdoor space in their home.
[0008] However, having a home with a balcony or terrace remains a privilege.
[0009] It should also be noted that so-called social housing very rarely has such a balcony.
[0010] This observation remains true for all other residential buildings.
[0011] It is therefore understood that there is a real desire on the part of building actors to propose solutions aimed at improving the quality of residential housing by providing an outdoor space for each dwelling.
[0012] The Applicant observes that to date, existing solutions are not suitable and remain very expensive.
[0013] The techniques deployed so far only provide for fixing the balcony directly onto the facade of the dwelling, which systematically leads to damage to the facade which can impair the resistance of the building and create a thermal bridge.
[0014] The solutions of the prior art are therefore not fully satisfactory. Summary of the invention
[0015] The present invention aims to improve the situation described above.
[0016] The present invention aims in particular to remedy at least one of the different technical problems mentioned above are addressed by proposing a self-supporting solution that is structurally independent of the building and offers the possibility of creating a balcony for each dwelling in a multi-story building.
[0017] The object of the present invention thus relates, in a first aspect, to a self-supporting gantry for a building.
[0018] According to the present invention, such a building comprises at least one floor and has a facade without a balcony provided with at least one opening of the window or French window type.
[0019] Advantageously, the portico is intended to be erected adjacent to the facade.
[0020] It will be understood here that the gantry is positioned in front of the facade without being in contact direct with the facade.
[0021] The portico and the building therefore remain structurally independent of each other.
[0022] Advantageously, the gantry is in the form of a metal structure comprising:
[0023] - at least two vertical posts; and - at least one horizontal platform including on its peripheral perimeter an adjacent edge.
[0024] According to the present invention, the at least two posts and the platform are joined together and are arranged in relation to each other so that, when the portico is erected adjacent to the facade, the adjacent edge of the platform comes into contact with a floor of at least one story so that the platform extends substantially in the plane of the floor of at least one story and forms an exterior balcony opening onto the opening while remaining offset from the facade.
[0025] Such a design allows for a portal frame that is structurally independent of the building, which offers the possibility of creating as many balconies as there are platforms.
[0026] Such a design also avoids thermal bridges.
[0027] Advantageously, the adjacent edge of the platform has a shape complementary to the shape of the facade.
[0028] It will be understood here that the adjacent edge may have a straight shape to adapt to a flat facade.
[0029] The adjacent edge may alternatively have a curved shape to best adapt to the shape of the facade when, for example, the latter has a architectural interest.
[0030] Advantageously, the posts are fixed to the platform at the extremal portions of the adjacent edge of the platform.
[0031] Advantageously, the posts are dimensioned to resist load transfers.
[0032] It is therefore planned to dimension the columns according to several parameters including in particular the number of floors, the weight of the portal frame, the distance between the columns, etc.
[0033] Preferably, each post has a cross-section in the shape of an H or in the shape of a square or rectangular.
[0034] Such a configuration reinforces the mechanical resistance and solidity of the structure.
[0035] Advantageously, the gantry according to the present invention includes anchoring plates in the lower part of the posts for anchoring the posts in a concrete foundation block.
[0036] Advantageously, the gantry according to the present invention comprises a guardrail extending vertically from the outer edges of the peripheral perimeter of at least one platform; by outer edge, we mean here the edges of the peripheral perimeter with the exception of the adjacent edge (the adjacent edge being opposite the opening when the gantry is erected in front of the facade).
[0037] Advantageously, the gantry according to the present invention includes reinforcement elements of the type of hock between each post and said at least one platform.
[0038] Correspondingly, the object of the present invention relates, according to a second aspect, to an installation which comprises: - a building comprising at least one floor and having a facade with at least one opening of the window or French window type;
[0039] - a concrete foundation block located at the base of the facade below at least one opening; and
[0040] - a self-supporting portal erected adjacent to the facade, the portal being fixed to the soil in the foundation block.
[0041] The object of the present invention relates finally, according to a third aspect, to a method of renovating a building comprising at least one floor and having a facade without a balcony but with at least one opening of the window or French window type.
[0042] According to the invention, the method comprises a step of providing a balcony in which a portico, according to the first aspect described above, is erected adjacent to the facade. This portico comprises at least two posts and a horizontal platform, such that the adjacent edge of the platform is aligned with a floor of at least one story of the building, so that the platform extends substantially in the plane of the floor of at least one story and forms an exterior balcony. leading to the opening while remaining offset from the facade.
[0043] Advantageously, the at least two posts are fixed in a concrete foundation block provided at the foot of the facade below at least one opening.
[0044] Thus, by its various functional and structural technical characteristics described above, we have a portico, easy to install, which is structurally independent of the building and which is erected adjacent to the facade of the building to form exterior balconies at the level of each dwelling.

[0054] Fig. 4 represents a schematic perspective view of an installation conforming to Fig. 1. Detailed description
[0055] A gantry according to an example of an embodiment of the present invention and the installation associated with it will now be described in what follows with joint reference to figures 1 to 4.
[0056] To provide a balcony to a dwelling which lacks one, techniques are available today whose principle is based on attaching the balcony to the load-bearing structure of the building.
[0057] These techniques require perforation of the facade, which damages it and impairs its robustness.
[0058] Moreover, these techniques involving perforation of the facade create a thermal bridge between the facade and the building.
[0059] Finally, these techniques are often very expensive.
[0060] For at least these reasons, it remains difficult today to add balconies to existing buildings.
[0061] An objective of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks and to offer the possibility of creating balconies at a lower cost on dwellings which lack them.
[0062] This objective is achieved in the following description.
[0063] In the example described here, we have a building BAT which has a facade FAC and two floors R+1 and R+2.
[0064] In this example, each floor R+1 and R+2 corresponds to a residential dwelling.
[0065] Obviously, this is just one example among many possible ones: the BAT building It can also include, according to other variants, three, four, or even five floors, for example.
[0066] In the context of the present invention, the BAT building already has openings OUV in its FAC façade, for example, a window. It will be understood here that these OUV openings can also be created in the FAC façade as part of the renovation undertaken on the BAT building. The work to open the façade must then be planned in advance of the construction site.
[0067] In the example described here and illustrated in figures 1 to 4, the operators in charge of the renovation of the BAT building have a gantry 100 at their disposal.
[0068] Such a gantry 100 is characteristic of the present invention.
[0069] In this example, the gantry 100 is in the form of a metal structure.
[0070] Such a gantry 100 can be manufactured and assembled in a workshop; such a gantry 100 can also be delivered as a kit and assembled on site by operators.
[0071] As indicated above, the concept underlying the present invention is to erect the portal 100 adjacent to the FAC facade of the BAT building.
[0072] In this example, the operators will therefore position the gantry 100 in front of the FAC facade to design balconies, all without the gantry 100 and the FAC facade being in contact.
[0073] It is therefore understood that the portal 100 is structurally independent of the BAT building.
[0074] In other words, the gantry 100 is positioned at an offset distance from the BAT building at a determined separation distance; this avoids any thermal bridge between the BAT building and the gantry 100.
[0075] In the example described here, the portal 100 comprises two vertical posts 10.
[0076] It will be understood that the gantry 100 can include four posts 10, or even more.
[0077] In this example, the two posts 10 will run along the facade at a distance of separation determined.
[0078] In the example described here, the posts 10 each have an H-shaped cross-section. Such a configuration allows for good mechanical robustness of the posts; other configurations can be considered.
[0079] In the example described here, the posts 10 are securely anchored to the ground in the MDF foundation block by means of anchor plates (not shown here).
[0080] In the example described here, the foundation block is a concrete slab located at the foot of the FAC façade below the OUV openings.
[0081] In this example, it is the operators who will pour this slab.
[0082] It can also be assumed that this slab already exists.
[0083] Such a gantry 100 is self-supporting.
[0084] The objective of the present invention is to design balconies using this self-supporting gantry 100.
[0085] The portal 100 therefore comprises a tiered structure with a horizontal platform 20 for each tier.
[0086] It is this platform 20 which will constitute the balcony.
[0087] The platform 20 can therefore have a rectangular shape, but it can obviously have other shapes.
[0088] In this example, the platform 20 includes on its peripheral perimeter an adjacent edge 20a. This lateral edge 20a is intended to be opposite the facade FAC.
[0089] It is therefore understood that this edge 20a can be straight when the facade is flat.
[0090] If the FAC façade has a particular shape (curved or otherwise), an adjacent edge 20a is provided whose shape will be complementary to the shape of the FAC façade so as to follow the contour of the latter when the adjacent edge 20a is opposite the FAC façade.
[0091] As previously stated, when the operators erect the gantry 100 adjacent to the FAC facade, the adjacent edge 20a of the platform 20 will come into contact with the floor of the R+1 or R+2 story associated with it.
[0092] Thus, this platform 20 will extend in the plane PR+i or PR+2 of the floor of the R+l or R+2 level and thus form the exterior balcony of this level.
[0093] It should be noted here that the dimensioning of the columns 10 is determined in the design office based in particular on the number of floors, the surface area of the platform, the weight of the platform, etc. in order to resist the load transfers.
[0094] In order to reinforce the structure, reinforcement elements 40 of the hock type are provided between each post 10 and each platform 20.
[0095] For safety, it is also planned to equip each platform 30 with a guardrail 30. Here, this guardrail 30 extends vertically from the outer edges 20b of the peripheral perimeter 20b of the platform 20 (see in particular [Fig.3]).
[0096] The present invention thus proposes a multi-tiered, self-supporting metal structure that enables an innovative renovation process, one of whose features is that it remains structurally independent of the building and is not fixed to the facade. in order to avoid any thermal bridging, any rising damp and any degradation of the facade.
[0097] Such a gantry will be fixed on site below the building in a pre-dimensioned concrete slab in a design office, and this in particular according to the height of the building and the gantry and the associated load transfers.
[0098] It should be noted here that, for the time being, it is envisaged to carry out such renovations implementing the portico on buildings up to five stories high.
[0099] Finally, it should be noted here that the gantry according to the invention is demountable; this will allow, for example, the carrying out of insulation work from the outside.
[0100] Such a structure can for example be unbolted from the bottom and then lifted and moved using a telescopic crane.
[0101] The object of the present invention thus provides building actors with a simple solution for the design of balconies on existing buildings and thus to meet a growing demand from owners, tenants and managers.
[0102] It should be noted that this detailed description relates to a particular embodiment of the present invention, but in no way does this description limit the scope of the invention; on the contrary, its purpose is to remove any possible inaccuracy or misinterpretation of the following claims.
[0103] It should also be noted that the reference symbols placed in parentheses in the following claims are in no way intended to be limiting; these symbols are solely intended to improve the intelligibility and understanding of the following claims and the scope of the protection sought.
