Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Folding parasol anchoring system
[0001] The invention relates to the field of parasol bases.
[0002] The problem with parasols, especially on the beach, is finding a solution to stabilize them in order to limit wind resistance and the risk of bodily harm that could cause injuries. The traditional beach parasol must have its support rod firmly embedded in the sandy, gravel or pebble beach ground. The irregular grain size of the ground requires the rod to be penetrated deeply to stabilize it and prevent it from being torn off by the wind. This is difficult to do yourself without an anchoring system. Especially since you may have to move the parasols several times depending on the direction of the sun.
[0003] Existing anchoring systems that do not require digging into the ground are bulky and difficult to transport and store. In addition, their system for filling and emptying ballast materials is long and tedious.
[0004] Other existing anchoring systems which require digging into the ground require a more or less tedious effort, may present anchoring difficulties, risks of breakage, or are not adaptable to different parasol rod diameters.
[0005] The present invention addresses these issues by providing an anchoring system that does not require digging into the ground. This system is lightweight and foldable for easy transport and storage. Simply place it on the ground, unfold it, and insert the parasol pole or any other mast. In the event of excessively strong winds, it can be reinforced by adding a reasonable quantity of ballast, with a practical and rapid filling and emptying system via a visible gutter. In addition, it adapts to existing parasols without major modifications.
[0006] This foldable anchoring system for a beach umbrella, or any other type of mast, comprises a flexible, retractable, telescopic, extendable, flat main body, in order to be deployable between a retracted position corresponding to a transport form, and a deployed form of volume greater than the retracted position corresponding to a position for inserting a parasol foot which is introduced into an orifice based in the center of the main body to ensure support. It is therefore simple to use, space-saving, and easy for transport and storage. In addition, it adapts to other types of parasols as well as flagpoles or others.
[0007] The main body of this anchoring system is telescopic and easy to use. Different levels fit together, giving a pyramid shape once it is deployed.
[0008] The main body of this folding anchoring system for beach umbrellas or any other type of mast is square in shape when retracted and pyramidal in shape when deployed. These formats ensure stability on the ground as well as support for the parasol stem or mast that has been inserted into the hole in its center, regardless of the unevenness of the ground and without the effort of digging. These square and pyramid formats thus limit swinging, falls, as well as tearing by the wind and the risk of bodily accidents that could cause injuries. They imitate the ballast (sand, pebbles, or others) gathered by hand at the foot of the stem once it has been planted in order to reinforce its support.
[0009] The lower perimeter of the main body of this anchoring system includes an area for receiving ballast materials. The edges of the lower part of the main body are curved upwards to define a peripheral gutter which runs around the perimeter and which allows for the reception of ballast material. This can be sand, pebbles, gravel, water or other material which provides additional reinforcement and support, if necessary, all around the anchoring system, particularly in the event of strong winds. This embodiment facilitates the filling and emptying of materials in a very short time and does not require too large a quantity either. It is sufficient to tilt or turn the anchoring system over for emptying.
[0010] The main body of the anchoring system is manufactured by injection molding a thermoformable material of the thermoplastic, thermosetting or elastomeric polymer type (list of materials by way of example and not exhaustive) which allows it to be flexible, retractable, telescopic, extensible, flat, voluminous in order to be foldable and unfoldable.
[0011] Furthermore, the material constituting the main body is waterproof and / or impermeable.
[0012] The attached drawings illustrate the anchoring system of the present invention. The [Fig.l] represents a cross-sectional view of the anchoring system once deployed via the telescopic system (1) with a parasol rod inside it. In [Fig.2], we can see the hole (2) in the center of the main body of this system, into which the parasol rod or mast is inserted. We can also see a peripheral gutter (3) at the lower part of the anchoring system, which runs around the perimeter, and whose outer edges are curved upwards (3) to accommodate ballast material to provide additional reinforcement and support. [Fig.3] is a view of the anchoring system once retracted (4) which allows for easier storage and transport while saving space. [Fig.4] is a view from below of the deployed anchoring system (5) with a parasol rod inserted into the hole based in the center of the main body (2).The parasol is sufficiently held in place thanks to its height, format, peripheral gutter and the material of the anchoring system which ensure its stability. In addition, the parasol pole does not need to be anchored to the ground. No more need for . dig.
