Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Cosmetic product packaging device and associated manufacturing process
[0001] The present invention relates to a cosmetic product packaging device comprising:
[0002] - a base delimiting an interior volume;
[0003] - a hood movable relative to the base between an open position for access to internal volume and a closed position for sealing the internal volume;
[0004] at least a first element among the base and the hood being made of glass;
[0005] - a linking mechanism between the base and the hood comprising at least one first connecting piece assembled by gluing to the first element between the base and the hood.
[0006] The cosmetic product is, for example, a hair product, a hygiene product, a face and / or body care product, a makeup product, or a sun protection product.
[0007] More generally, a cosmetic product is a product as defined in Regulation (EC) No 1223 / 2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on cosmetic products.
[0008] Such a packaging device is, for example, a case suitable for being received in a handbag.
[0009] FR3096558 describes a conditioning device of the aforementioned type, comprising a base and a hood that can be removed from the base.
[0010] For aesthetic and environmental reasons, the cover is sometimes made of glass to reduce the amount of plastic in the housing. In this case, given the maximum tolerances achievable with glass, it is necessary to add a ring to the glass portion used to screw the cover onto the base. The ring is attached to the cover by gluing.
[0011] Such a device is not entirely satisfactory. When the packaging device is in the open position, the lid is detached from the base, which can lead the user to misplace it. Furthermore, when the lid is detached from the base, the glass part is liable to break in the event of an impact or fall.
[0012] Other cosmetic product packagings are described in WO 2018 / 115685, KR20-0451480, CN201734103, GB2161789 and US4526273.
[0013] The proposal of eco-responsible, environmentally friendly solutions whose design and development take into account environmental issues is becoming a major concern in order to contribute to meeting planetary challenges.
[0014] It is therefore essential to design more durable products, thereby reducing the amount of materials used, replacing them with more environmentally friendly materials and using recyclable materials in order to decrease the carbon footprint of the product.
[0015] In this context, it is important to develop packaging that generates less waste, in particular optimized for the quantity of products transported, notably by redesigning and / or resizing them in order to reduce the volume and weight of the quantity of packaging.
[0016] The objective is to offer eco-responsible reusable containers, in particular refillable at home or in stores, in order to reduce the carbon footprint of packaging.
[0017] In this context, it becomes important to replace certain materials with alternatives that have a better environmental footprint, in particular by reducing the use of raw materials from petrochemicals.
[0018] The objective is to offer eco-responsible materials, in particular those derived from green chemistry, in order to limit the environmental impact of packaging from its manufacture to its end of life, in particular through materials with a good biodegradability profile and / or from renewable sources.
[0019] In this context, it is important to offer recyclable packaging containing in particular separable elements and / or made of a minimum of materials and / or free from materials that are difficult to recycle in order to facilitate their end of life.
[0020] Thus, it is necessary to develop packaging made of environmentally friendly recyclable materials to allow for the recovery of packaging at the end of its life and to avoid pollution of recycling channels.
[0021] One object of the invention is therefore to obtain a cosmetic product packaging device that is more easily recyclable and has a reduced plastic content, while being simple to use and robust.
[0022] For this purpose, the invention relates to a conditioning device of the aforementioned type, characterized in that the linking mechanism permanently connects the base to the hood, both in the closed position and in the open position.
[0023] In the device according to the invention, the cover and / or the base is made of glass, which is very beneficial for recyclability and limits the amount of plastic used. The use of a first connecting piece, preferably made of plastic, attached by gluing to the cover or the base eliminates the difficulties of maintaining precise tolerances during glass forming and thus improves the reliability of the positioning and operation of the connecting mechanism. Furthermore, since this connecting mechanism permanently links the base to the cover, the risks of loss as well as Breakage of the hood and / or base, even when made of glass, is limited, which reinforces the robustness of the packaging device.
[0024] According to one variant, the conditioning device according to the invention comprises the following feature: - the first connecting piece includes a part projecting from the first element between the base and the hood, intended to engage in a movable receiving part jointly with a second element between the base and the hood, or in which the first connecting piece includes a receiving part intended to receive a part projecting from the second element between the base and the hood, movable jointly with the second element between the base and the hood.
[0025] The connecting piece, bonded to the glass part and provided with a protruding portion and / or a receiving portion, provides a simple and robust mounting for the permanent connection mechanism. The protruding portion and / or the receiving portion provides a reliable connection, particularly in rotation via a joint or hinge, or in translation.
[0026] According to one variant, the conditioning device according to the invention comprises the following feature: - the protruding part is a receiving lug for an axle, the receiving part being a retaining clevis for the lug, or the protruding part is a rotation pivot, the receiving part defining a rotation guide housing for the pivot, or the protruding part is a hinge having two regions connected to each other by a deformable thinned region, the receiving part defining a receiving housing for one of the regions or the protruding part is a rail, the receiving part defining a complementary track on which the rail engages.
[0027] The protruding part and / or the receiving part attached by bonding are configurable to create a large number of types of connection between the cover and the base. These different possible connections offer different ways to move from the closed position to the open position, and vice versa, while maintaining a permanent connection between the cover and the base.
[0028] According to one variant, the conditioning device according to the invention comprises the following feature: - the first connecting piece includes a ring assembled by gluing to the first element between the base and the hood, the protruding part or the receiving part extending from the ring.
[0029] The design of the first connecting element with a ring bonded to the first element between the hood and the base provides robust mechanical support on the part in glass, particularly around the periphery of the glass section. This further improves the robustness of the packaging device.
[0030] According to one variant, the conditioning device according to the invention comprises the following feature: - when the first connecting piece includes the part protruding from the first element between the base and the hood, the receiving part is formed in the second element between the base and the hood, or when the first connecting piece includes a receiving part of the protruding part, the protruding part is formed in the second element between the base and the hood.
[0031] The formation of the protruding or receiving portion on the second part of the lid or base ensures a precise fit with the first connecting part, which enhances the reliability of the permanent connection mechanism between the lid and the base in both the open and closed positions of the housing. This makes it possible to use a glass lid or base with a plastic counterpart, which is already an environmental advantage, while offering similar functionality to an all-plastic packaging device.
[0032] According to variants, the conditioning device according to the invention comprises one or / and the other of the following features: - the linking mechanism includes a second linking piece assembled by gluing to the second element between the base and the hood, the protruding part being formed on one of the first linking piece and the second linking piece, the receiving part of the protruding part being formed on the other of the first linking piece and the second linking piece.
[0033] When the linking mechanism includes a second linking piece glued to the second element between the hood and the base to ensure the permanent link with the first linking piece, a simple and robust assembly of the linking mechanism is obtained, while offering versatility on the composition of the hood and the base according to the application and the desired aesthetic appearance; and the base and the hood are made of glass.
[0034] Such a configuration of the linking mechanism makes it possible, in particular, for both the hood and the base to be made entirely of glass. In this case, optimal recyclability of the packaging device is achieved.
[0035] According to variants, the conditioning device according to the invention comprises one or / and the other of the following features: - the first connecting piece includes an additional functional part; - the additional functional part is a locking mechanism designed to cooperate with a complementary locking mechanism carried by the second element between the base and the hood in the additional closed position.
[0036] Providing an additional functional part on the first connecting piece allows for the addition of various functions, all supported by a single connecting piece bonded in one go to the first element between the cover and the base. Thus, the packaging device offers additional functionalities, for example, in terms of sealing or resistance to accidental opening, notably through the addition of a locking mechanism directly onto the first connecting piece. This is achieved cost-effectively and with high precision in the positioning of these additional functionalities.
[0037] According to one variant, the conditioning device according to the invention comprises the following feature: - the first element between the base and the hood carries a cosmetic accessory, in particular a mirror, the cosmetic accessory being assembled by gluing onto the first element between the base and the hood and / or onto the first connecting piece.
[0038] Adhesive fixing of the first connecting piece allows for the simultaneous gluing of other accessories such as a mirror, thus adding an additional function to the packaging device. The first connecting piece can even serve as a base for adhesive fixing of the accessory.
[0039] According to variants, the conditioning device according to the invention comprises one or / and the other of the following features: - it includes at least one continuous or discontinuous bonding line between the first connecting piece and the first element between the base and the hood; and the bonding line is received in a groove formed in the first connecting piece or on a shoulder of the first connecting piece.
[0040] Fixing by means of a continuous or discontinuous glue line ensures precision in the connection between the first connecting piece and the first element between the hood and the base, limiting the impact on the aesthetic appearance.
[0041] The connecting piece can be specifically shaped to receive the bonding line, for example by providing a shoulder or a groove which enhances the precision of the bonding and limits burrs.
[0042] According to one variant, the conditioning device according to the invention comprises the following feature: - it includes a removable cup for receiving cosmetic products, received in the inner volume.
[0043] The mobility of the cup allows only the cup to be changed and not the entire packaging device to be thrown away after the cosmetic product has been used up.
[0044] The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a cosmetic product packaging device comprising the following steps: - provision of a base delimiting an interior volume; - provision of a hood configured to be movable relative to the base between an open position allowing access to the interior volume and a closed position sealing off the interior volume;
[0045] at least a first element among the base and the hood being made of glass; - assembly by gluing to the first element among the base and the hood of at least one first connecting piece of a linking mechanism between the base and the hood;
[0046] characterized by the assembly of the linking mechanism to permanently connect the base to the hood, both in the closed position and in the open position.
[0047] The invention will become clearer upon reading the following description, given solely by way of non-limiting example, and made with reference to the drawings in which:

[0054] A first packaging device 10 according to the invention is shown in Figures 1 and 2. The packaging device 10 is intended to receive a cosmetic product 12.
[0055] As illustrated by Figures 1 and 2, the packaging device 10 includes a case 14 receiving the cosmetic product 12.
[0056] The cosmetic product 12 is advantageously a solid such as a powder, a liquid, particularly a viscous one, or a cream. The cosmetic product 12 is, in particular, a product intended for skin makeup, such as a foundation. Alternatively, the cosmetic product 12 is a skincare cosmetic product, a hair care cosmetic product, or a sun protection cosmetic product.
[0057] The housing 14 comprises a base 16 and a base 16 shutter cover 18, which is movable relative to the base 16 between a closed position visible in [Fig. 1] and an open position. It includes a linking mechanism 20 connecting the base 16 and the cover 18 to guide the passage of the cover 18 between the closed and open positions and to permanently maintain the cover 18 connected to the base 16 between these two positions and in each of these positions.
[0058] In the example shown in figures 1 and 2, the case 14 advantageously includes a cup 22 containing the cosmetic product 12, the cup 22 being received in a removable manner in the base 16.
[0059] The base 16 is here made from a single piece of glass. It has a generally hollow shape defining an internal volume 24. The internal volume 24 forms a housing for the removable cup 22. In this example, the base 16 has a cylindrical outline with a circular cross-section.
[0060] The base 16 comprises a bottom wall 26 intended to be placed on a horizontal support and a side wall 28. The bottom wall 26 and the side wall 28 delimit downwards and radially the internal volume 24.
[0061] The bottom wall 26 extends substantially horizontally when the base 16 is placed on a horizontal support. The bottom wall 26 defines a lower surface 30 for the housing 14 to bear against a horizontal support.
[0062] The side wall 28 projects vertically from the bottom wall 26. The side wall 28 has an upper edge 34 for supporting the linking mechanism 20. The side wall 28 of the base 16 defines a vertical housing 36 provided to receive part of the linking mechanism 20, as will be described below.
[0063] The vertical housing 36 opens upwards into the side wall 28. It is delimited by two vertical side surfaces 38a, 38b and by a bottom surface 40. The vertical housing 36 opens vertically upwards and radially outwards from the housing 14.
[0064] The upper edge 34 of the side wall 28 defines a top opening 32 for access to the interior volume 24.
[0065] The cup 22 has an outer contour similar to the contour of the upper opening 32.
[0066] The hood 18 is also formed from a single piece of glass. The hood 18 comprises an advantageously flat upper wall 42, here in the shape of a disc.
[0067] The linking mechanism 20 comprises a first linking piece 44 fixed to the hood 18, a second linking piece 46 fixed to the base 16 and a linking shaft 48 connecting the first linking piece 44 to the second linking piece 46.
[0068] The linking mechanism 20 is made of a material distinct from glass such as plastic, metal or wood.
[0069] The linking mechanism 20 includes at least a first line of adhesive 50 fixing the first linking piece 44 to the hood 18 and at least a second line of adhesive 52 fixing the second linking piece 46 to the base 16.
[0070] With reference in particular to [Fig.2], the first connecting piece 44 comprises an upper ring 54 fixed to the periphery of the hood 18, a connecting part projecting 56 relative to the upper ring 54, and in this example, a hooking member 58.
[0071] The upper ring 54 includes an outer peripheral edge 60 for shimming the hood 18 and an inner rim 62 for support recessed under the outer peripheral edge 60.
[0072] The upper ring 54 defines a peripheral groove 64 between the outer peripheral edge 60 and the inner rim 62.
[0073] The projecting part 56 extends towards the base 16, from the upper ring 54. Here it is in the form of a receiving lug for the connecting shaft 48. The projecting part 56 projects vertically downwards from the ring 54 and has a central horizontal passage 66 for receiving the connecting shaft 48.
[0074] The lock-picking member 58 extends opposite the projecting part 56. It includes a housing for receiving a complementary lock-picking member.
[0075] The first adhesive line 50 is positioned in the peripheral groove 64 formed in the first connecting piece 44. The first adhesive line 50 secures the peripheral edge 68 of the upper wall 42 of the cover 18. The first adhesive line 50 may be continuous or discontinuous. Thus, the cover 18 is wedged against and inside the peripheral edge 60, which rests on the inner rim 62. It is held in place by adhesive using the narrow adhesive line 50, which ensures a satisfactory aesthetic appearance.
[0076] The second connecting piece 46 includes a lower ring 70 fixed on the upper edge 34 of the base 16, a receiving part 72 projecting downwards, inserted into the vertical housing 36, a complementary picking member 74 intended to cooperate with the picking member 58.
[0077] The lower ring 70 defines a lower shoulder 76 bearing on the upper edge 34 of the base 16 and a plurality of shim fingers 78 in the inner volume 24.
[0078] The shim fingers 78 protrude towards the base 16 to fit together in the internal volume 24. They are distributed angularly around the axis AA in a reversible manner.
[0079] The receiving part 72 is here in the form of a retaining bracket for the protruding part 56 of the first connecting piece 44. It has two opposing tabs 80a, 80b each provided with an orifice 82 for receiving the connecting shaft 48. The tabs 80 of the receiving part 72 are received between the lateral surfaces 38a, 38b of the vertical housing 36 of the base 16.
[0080] The second bonding line 52 is disposed in the lower shoulder 76 formed in the second connecting piece 46. The second bonding line 52 fixes the lower ring 70 to the upper edge 34 of the base 16. The second bonding line 52 is continuous or discontinuous.
[0081] The additional picking member 74 is formed by a movable hook projecting towards the hood 18 from the lower ring 70. The additional picking member 74 is intended to engage with the picking member 58 of the first connecting piece 44 in the closed position of the housing 14.
[0082] As indicated above, the projecting part 56 is received at least partially in the receiving part 72 between the opposing legs 80a, 80b, the central passage 66 being located opposite the orifices 82. The connecting shaft 48 is inserted through the orifices 82 of the legs 80a, 80b and the horizontal central passage 66 of the projecting part 56.
[0083] Thus, the first connecting piece 44 carrying the hood 18 is mounted rotatably around the horizontal axis 48 relative to the second connecting piece 46 linked to the base 16 between the closed position and the open position.
[0084] The first connecting piece 44, in particular the projecting part 56, and the second connecting piece 46, in particular the receiving part 72, are made of metal, plastic, or wood, thus ensuring precise dimensions.
[0085] In the closed position, the protruding part 56 is fully received in the receiving part 72 and the hooking member 58 of the first connecting piece 44 is engaged on the complementary hooking member 74 of the second connecting piece 46. The cover 18 closes the internal volume 24 which is inaccessible to the user.
[0086] In the open position, the hooking member 58 of the first connecting piece 44 is disengaged from the complementary hooking member 74, the hood 18 has been pivoted outwards above and away from the base 16 and the projecting part 56 has pivoted relative to the receiving part 72 around the connecting axis 48.
[0087] The manufacture of the first device 10 according to the invention will now be described.
[0088] A first step in the manufacturing process includes the supply of the first connecting piece 44 and the second connecting piece 46, as well as the insertion of the connecting shaft 48 between the first connecting piece 44 at the central passage horizontal 66 of the projecting part 56 and the second connecting piece 46 at the level of the orifices 82 of the legs 80a, 80b of the receiving part 72.
[0089] A second step of the manufacturing process includes the deposition of the first bonding line 50 on the first connecting piece 44 and of the second bonding line 52 on the second connecting piece 46.
[0090] A third step includes assembling the hood 18 to the first connecting piece 44, via the first bonding line 50, and the base 16 to the second connecting piece 46, via the second bonding line 52.
[0091] The operation of the first device 10 according to the invention will now be described.
[0092] When the user wishes to use the cosmetic product 12 located in the cup 22, he grasps the housing 14. Then, he unlocks the locking member 58 and rotates the cover 18 around the connecting axis 48 in order to move into the open position of the housing 14. In this open position, the cosmetic product 12 is accessible to the user.
[0093] When the user has finished using the cosmetic product 12, he pivots the hood 18 again around the connecting axis 48 to position the hood 18 on the base 16 and move into the closed position.
[0094] When the cosmetic product 12 is exhausted, the user then removes the cup 22 fixed to the base 18 and positions a new cup filled with cosmetic product 12.
[0095] In one embodiment, illustrated in [Fig. 3], the hood 18 is made of glass and the base 84 is made of a material other than glass, in particular plastic or metal. The base 84 includes the receiving portion 86 formed or attached in its side wall 28 into which the projecting portion 56 of the first connecting piece 44 engages. The base 84 also includes the hooking member 88, which is complementary to the hooking member 58 of the first connecting piece 44. The base 84 includes locking fingers 90 for securing the cup 22.

The cover 92 comprises a side wall 94 projecting downwards at the periphery of the upper wall 42. The cover 92 also comprises a projecting portion 96 formed or attached to the side wall 94. The projecting portion 96 engages with the receiving portion 72 of the second connecting piece 46. The cover 92 comprises a locking member 98 complementary to the locking member 74 of the second connecting piece 46.
[0097] Figure 5 illustrates four other variants.
[0098] In the first variant (a), the projecting part 100 is a hinge having two regions 102a, 102b connected to each other by a thinned deformable region 104 and the receiving part defines a receiving housing for one of the regions.
[0099] In the second variant (b), the projecting part 106 is a pivot for rotating the hood 18 around an axis parallel to its central axis A-A', the receiving part (not shown) defines a housing for guiding the rotation of the pivot around its axis.
[0100] In the third variant (c), the connecting mechanism 108 comprises a projecting part which is a rail and a receiving part which defines a complementary track onto which the rail engages. The cover 18 is then movable in translation relative to the base 16 by sliding the rail in the complementary track.
[0101] In other variants, as illustrated in [Fig. 6](a), the first connecting piece 44 does not have a groove. The upper edge 112 of the ring 54 of the first connecting piece 44 is bonded directly to the peripheral edge 114 of the upper wall 42 of the cover 18 on its edge by the bond line 50.
[0102] In another embodiment in [Fig. 6](b), the first connecting piece 44 also does not have a groove. The first connecting piece 44 has an inner rim 116 that projects towards the inner volume 24 from the ring 54.
