Description

Title of the invention: Cosmetic makeup composition FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The technical field of the present invention is that of cosmetic makeup compositions. More particularly, the invention relates to a cosmetic makeup composition having a sun protection factor greater than 50. STATE OF THE ART

[0002] Cosmetic skin makeup compositions, such as foundations, have been used for many years to improve the aesthetic appearance of the skin by reducing, in particular, visible and / or tactile irregularities of the skin and by giving the skin a desired color, shade or radiance.

[0003] Today, consumers are increasingly demanding about the products they consume, particularly those they apply to their skin. They will pay particular attention to the composition and origin of products. Above all, they are looking for natural and environmentally friendly products.

[0004] In addition, consumers are also looking for products that offer a dual purpose, such as a makeup function and a skin protection function against UV radiation. The skin, especially that of the face and neck, is constantly attacked by solar radiation, so it is necessary to protect oneself to avoid skin complications. However, it is difficult to combine makeup and sun protection as a sunscreen can alter makeup, and vice versa.

[0005] Today, there is no cosmetic makeup composition on the market, and in particular foundation, with a sun protection factor greater than 50.

[0006] There is therefore a need to have cosmetic makeup compositions offering optimal and long-lasting sun protection. Statement of the invention

[0007] The invention therefore relates to a cosmetic composition for making up keratinous materials having a sun protection index greater than 50 and comprising, in a physiologically acceptable medium: - at least one colorant, - Karanja oil, and - Shiitake extract.

[0008] The particular combination of a colorant, Karanja oil and Shiitake extract gives the cosmetic makeup composition a protection index solar greater than 50.

[0009] Advantageously, the composition comprises between 10% and 50% by mass of at least one colorant.

[0010] The quantity of colorant in the cosmetic makeup composition makes it possible to obtain the desired shade while maintaining a sun protection factor greater than 50. In addition, the cosmetic composition according to the invention can be presented in multiple shades, from the so-called light shade to the so-called dark shade, without significant modification of the sun protection factor.

[0011] Advantageously, the at least one colorant is a mineral pigment chosen from the group consisting of: iron tetraoxide, iron trioxide, yellow iron oxide, manganese violet, ultramarine blue, chromium oxide, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.

[0012] Mineral pigments are particularly preferred because they intrinsically contain particles that reflect solar radiation. In addition, they are UV filters.

[0013] According to one embodiment of the invention, the composition comprises at least one UV filter, in particular nanoparticles of zinc oxide and / or titanium dioxide.

[0014] The at least one UV filter makes it possible to consolidate the sun protection index of the cosmetic makeup composition.

[0015] According to another embodiment of the invention, the UV filter is also a colorant. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are particularly preferred, since they make it possible, on the one hand, to contribute to the sun protection factor of the cosmetic makeup composition and, on the other hand, to color the cosmetic makeup composition by acting as mineral pigments.

[0016] According to yet another embodiment of the invention, the composition comprises between 0.05% and 10% by mass of Karanja oil.

[0017] According to yet another embodiment of the invention, the composition comprises between 0.05% and 10% by mass of Shiitake extract.

[0018] According to yet another embodiment of the invention, the composition has a sun protection index greater than 70.

[0019] According to yet another embodiment of the invention, the composition is water resistant.

[0020] Water resistance allows the cosmetic makeup composition to resist aqueous aggressions and therefore to retain the protective effect against UV radiation, even in humid conditions.

[0021] According to yet another embodiment of the invention, the composition is in the form of an emulsion, a cream, a fluid, a powder, a stick or of a spray.

[0022] The invention also relates to a method for making up keratinous materials, in particular the skin, comprising the application to said skin, in particular the skin of the face, neck and / or body, of a cosmetic makeup composition according to the invention.

[0023] A very first advantage of the present invention is that the cosmetic makeup composition has a sun protection factor greater than 50.

[0024] Another advantage of the present invention is that the cosmetic makeup composition is water resistant.

[0025] Yet another advantage of the present invention is that the cosmetic makeup composition comprises only natural components.

[0026] Yet another advantage of the present invention lies in the long-lasting effect of the sun protection.

[0027] Another advantage of the present invention is the dermoprotective effect of the cosmetic makeup composition according to the invention.

[0028] Another advantage of the present invention is the moisturizing effect of the cosmetic makeup composition according to the invention.

[0029] Another advantage of the present invention is the antioxidant effect of the cosmetic makeup composition according to the invention.

[0030] Other characteristics, advantages and details of the invention will be better understood upon reading the additional description which follows.

The particular forms of the cosmetic makeup composition according to the invention are therefore suitable for different applications, particularly on the skin, of the composition.

[0059] The inventors carried out tests to demonstrate the sun protection factor of the cosmetic makeup composition according to the invention.

[0060] More particularly, the inventors evaluated in vitro the sun protection index of the following products: - Product PI: sunscreen base used in the design of the cosmetic makeup composition according to the invention, - Product P2: Product PI to which is added: - 20% by mass of colorants such as iron trioxide, tetraoxide iron and yellow iron oxide, and - 7% by mass of Karanja oil, - Product P3: Cosmetic makeup composition according to the invention comprising 20% by mass of colorant, 7% by mass of Karanja oil and 4% by mass of Shiitake extract.

[0061] The product PI is the sunscreen base used in the cosmetic makeup composition according to the invention. According to one embodiment of the invention, the sunscreen base has the following composition:

[0062] [Tables 1] Ingrédients (Dénomination INCI) Pourcentage massique (%) Sorbitan Isostearate 2,00 Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate 2,00 Caprylic / Capric Triglycéride 2,00 Titanium Dioxide 11,28 Caprylic / Capric Triglycéride 11,04 Polyhydroxystearic acid 1,20 Alumina 0,24 Stearic acid 0,24 Zinc Oxide 7,92 Cetyl Alcohol 0,33 Coco-Caprylate / Caprate 1,87 Polyglyceryl-6 Polyhydroxystearate 0,55 Polyglyceryl-6 Polyricinoleate 0,33 Dicaprylyl Ether 8,00 Ethyl Oleate 8,00 Aqua 37,27 Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract 0,11 Magnésium Sulfate 0,70 Potassium Sorbate 0,10 Glycerin 3,00 Tocopherol 0,07 Xylitylglucoside 0,40 Anhydroxylitol 0,28 Xylitol 0,12 Aqua 0,16 Glucose 0,04 Benzyl Alcohol 0,61 Benzoic Acid 0,09 Dehydroacetic Acid 0,05

[0063] The inventors measured, by a spectrophotometric method, the UV transmittance (UVT) of the products PI to P3, each applied to a rough substrate. Measurements are carried out before and after UV exposure at a predefined irradiation dose. The spectral absorbance data are mathematically corrected to obtain an in vitro sun protection value comparable to that obtained by in vivo tests.

[0064] The test is carried out as follows: 1. Application of each product PI to P3 on PMMA plates with a quantity of 1.2 mg.cm2. 2. UV exposure of each PMMA plate (a fixed UV exposure dose D is used and transformed into irradiation time). 3. Acquisition of the UV absorbance spectrum of each product PI to P3. 4. Adjustment and combination of the final UV absorbance spectrum. 5. Calculation of the sun protection index.

[0065] The in vitro calculation of the sun protection index is carried out by multiplying the effective erythema illumination by the UV absorbance values of the product measured on a substrate at each wavelength. The integrals of the products obtained are then calculated over the corresponding wavelength range. The ratio of these two integrals corresponds to the calculated sun protection index.

[0066] The results are as follows:

[0067] [Table 2] Product Sun Protection Index PI 45.1 P2 53.5 P3 63.4

[0068] These results demonstrate the synergistic effect of at least one colorant, Karanja oil and Shiitake extract. The particular combination of these three compounds makes it possible to formulate, from a sunscreen base having a sun protection factor of less than 50, a cosmetic makeup composition having a sun protection factor of greater than 50.

[0069] The inventors also evaluated in vivo the sun protection index of the following products: - product P4: cosmetic makeup composition according to the invention having the lightest shade and corresponding to example 1, and - Product P5: cosmetic makeup composition according to the invention having the darkest shade and corresponding to example 5.

[0070] The inventors tested the products P4 and P5 on 10 volunteers in order to determine the sun protection index of the products P4 and P5, in normal conditions and in conditions immersed in water.

[0071] The inventors used a solar simulator with a xenon arc lamp (or equivalent) of defined and known output to determine the protection offered by the products P5 and P6 on the skin of the volunteers against erythema induced by solar ultraviolet rays.

[0072] A section of each subject's skin is exposed to ultraviolet light without any protection, while another section is exposed after application of the P5 or P6 product. Another section is exposed after application of a reference SPF sunscreen formulation, which is used to validate the procedure.

[0073] To determine the sun protection factor, incremental series of delayed erythema responses are induced at a number of small subsites on the skin. These responses are visually assessed for the presence of erythema 16 h to 24 h after UV radiation, by the judgment of a trained and competent assessor. The individual static Minimum Erythemal Dose (MED) for unprotected skin and the individual static MED obtained after application of a P5 or P6 product are determined on the same subject on the same day.

[0074] An individual static sun protection index for each test subject is calculated as the ratio of the individual MED on product-protected skin divided by the individual static MED on unprotected skin.

[0075] The sun protection factor of the product is the arithmetic mean of all valid results of each test subject.

[0076] Concerning exposure to water, the principle is to compare the sun protection index of P5 and P6 products after a period of immersion in water. The water resistance of P5 and P6 products is studied by UV exposure after the water resistance test. This test consists of two 20-minute baths with a 15-minute rest period between each standardized bath.

[0077] The results are illustrated in the following table:

[0078] [Table 3] Product Sun protection index Sun protection index after 40 minutes of humidity P4 53.3 59.1 P5 72.3 50.7

[0079] Thus, the cosmetic makeup composition according to the invention has a sun protection index greater than 50 for the lightest shade and greater than 70 for the darkest shade.

[0080] Furthermore, the cosmetic makeup composition retains a sun protection factor greater than 50 when subjected to aqueous aggression for 40 minutes. This demonstrates that the cosmetic makeup composition is water resistant.
