Detailed description

[0021] One object of this disclosure is a diffuser cap 1 for diffusing ambient fragrances, shown as an example in the accompanying figures.

[0022] The diffuser cap 1 comprises a main body 2. The main body 2 has a seat 3 formed to house a head T of a perfume bottle B having a spray dispensing mechanism. The seat 3 is provided with a first open hole 5 into which the head T can be inserted to find its place in the seat 3.

[0023] In use, the diffuser cap 1 is used with a perfume bottle B, containing any fragrance.

[0024] The term “perfume bottle B” means any known container for a fragrance used to perfume the body, preferably having a spray dispensing mechanism, thus comprising a bottle F, a head T adapted to dispense the fragrance when compressed and a cap (not shown in the accompanying figures) to cover the head T.

[0025] In addition, the diffuser cap 1 includes an absorbing element 4, housed in the seat 3. The main body 2 also includes at least one second through hole 6, at the level of the seat 3, and distinct from the first through hole 5.

[0026] Advantageously, this diffuser cap 1 allows fragrances contained in perfume bottles to be diffused onto a person. In this way, the fragrance can also be diffused into a room or common area. In other words, after replacing the cap with the diffuser cap 1, then inserting the head T of the perfume bottle B into the seat 3, pressing the diffuser cap 1 onto the perfume bottle B (Figures 5A, 5B) and compressing the head T itself, the absorbent element 4 absorbs the distributed fragrance and then gradually diffuses it through the second opening 6. In this way, the fragrance contained in the perfume bottle B is diffused into the environment.

[0027] In the preferred form of disclosure, the main body 2 has a cylindrical shape having a cylindrical side wall 21, an upper circular base and a lower circular base.

[0028] Therefore, in the following part of this description, the main body 2 is considered, for the sake of simplicity, to be cylindrical. Optionally, the main body 2 may have different polyhedral shapes, for example cubic or parallelepiped.

[0029] Preferably, the first opening 5 is located at the lower circular base and the second opening 6 is located at the upper circular base. In other words, the first opening 5 faces the second opening 6. This allows the diffuser cap 1 to replace the cap of a perfume bottle B, since the head T of the perfume bottle B can be inserted into the seat 3 through the first opening 5. Once inserted, the head T can be compressed by a user, through the second opening 6, in order to saturate the absorbent element 4.

[0030] Preferably, the first open hole 5 has a diameter smaller than the diameter of the second open hole 6. In other words, as shown in Figures 4A and 4B, the main body 2 includes an edge 22, preferably circular, adapted to surround the head T of the perfume bottle B, once inserted into the seat 3 through the first open hole 5. Again preferably, said edge 22 is located at the lower circular base of the main body 2 and extends from the cylindrical side wall 21 to the first open hole 5.

[0031] Preferably, the second opening hole 6 extends along the entire upper circular base of the main body 2. In other words, once the closure of the perfume bottle B has been replaced by the diffuser cap 1, it is possible to have direct access to the head T through the second opening hole 6, given that it has a diameter such that it allows the head T to be compressed.

[0032] In the preferred form of the present disclosure, the cylindrical side wall 21 of the main body 2 has a plurality of open holes 7. It should be noted that, advantageously, this plurality of open holes 7, together with the second open hole 6, promotes the diffusion of the fragrance by the absorbing element 4.

[0033] Preferably, said plurality of through holes 7 is arranged along a circumferential direction C of the main body 2. In alternative embodiments, not illustrated in the accompanying figures, the plurality of through holes 7 is arranged along different directions or, alternatively, is arranged without predetermined geometry.

[0034] In the preferred embodiment, the absorbing element 4 and the main body 2 are coaxial with respect to each other. In particular, the absorbing element 4 is formed as a ring or a tube and has an external lateral surface 41 facing the cylindrical side wall 21 of the main body 2. Preferably, the external lateral surface 41 of the absorbing element 4 is at least partially in contact with the side wall cylindrical 21 of the main body 2. In addition, the absorbing element 4 has a corresponding internal lateral surface 42, which surrounds the head T of the perfume bottle B, when the head T is inserted.

[0035] Preferably, the absorbing element 4 and the main body 2 have a substantially equivalent extension along the longitudinal axis A.

[0036] In the preferred embodiment, as shown in [Fig.2], the absorbent element 4 can be removed from the seat 3. Advantageously, this allows the absorbent element 4 to be replaced, for example, in the case of a change of fragrance or perfume bottle B. In particular, the absorbent element 4, when inserted, rests on the edge 22 at the level of the lower circular base of the main body 2.

[0037] Optionally, the absorbing element 4 can be fixed to the main body 2, for example, by means of gluing.

[0038] Preferably, the absorbent element 4 is made at least partly with a natural or synthetic material capable of absorbing and releasing the fragrance.

[0039] In the preferred embodiment, the absorbent element 4 is made at least partly of a porous material selected from ceramic, wood, Velcro, or paper. Advantageously, this porous material promotes the absorption of the distributed fragrance and also allows for its gradual diffusion through the second open hole 6 and through the plurality of open holes 7.

[0040] In a first configuration, the diffuser cap 1 is placed on the perfume bottle B to surround the head T with the edge 21 of the lower circular base, as shown in Figures 5A and 5B. In other words, in this first configuration, the diffuser cap 1 acts as a diffuser, since the head T of the perfume bottle B is inserted into the seat 3 of the diffuser cap 1 through the first opening 5. In use, the second opening 6, having a larger diameter than the first opening 5, allows a user to compress the head T of the perfume bottle B. In this way, the absorbent element 4 absorbs the fragrance distributed by means of the porous material and diffuses it into the environment through the second opening 6 and the plurality of openings 7.

[0041] Alternatively, the diffuser cap 1 can be reversed, resulting in a second configuration in which the first opening 5 is located at the level of the upper circular base and the second opening 6 is located at the level of the lower circular base. In this second configuration, the diffuser cap 1 acts as a cap, since the pressure of the head T of the perfume bottle B is restricted. In other words, the edge 22, also located at the level of the upper circular base, limits the diffusion of the fragrance, and the first opening 5, having a smaller diameter than the second opening 6, restricts the user when squeezing the head T of perfume bottle B. Advantageously, this second configuration allows said diffuser cap 1 to be used as a cap for perfume bottle B, without necessarily replacing the diffuser cap 1 with a known cap.

[0042] Another object of this disclosure is a kit 8 comprising at least one diffuser cap 1, according to this disclosure, and at least one perfume bottle B comprising a head T and having a spray dispensing mechanism, in which the head T can be inserted into the first open hole 5 to find housing in the seat 3.
