Description

Title of the invention: HAIR COLORING PROCESS COMPRISING THE APPLICATION OF A COMPOSITION COMPRISING A BINDING AGENT, FOLLOWED BY THE APPLICATION OF A COMPOSITION COMPRISING A (POLY) CARBODIIMIDE, A SPECIFIC COPOLYMER AND A COLORING AGENT

[0001] The present invention relates to a hair coloring process comprising the application to the hair of at least one composition T comprising at least one binding agent; then the application to the hair of at least one hair coloring composition C comprising at least one (poly)carbodiimide compound, at least one acrylic polymer, and at least one hair coloring agent. technical field

[0002] In the field of hair keratin fiber coloring, it is already known to color hair keratin fibers via various techniques using direct dyes or pigments for non-permanent dyes or dye precursors for permanent coloring.

[0003] There are basically three types of hair coloring processes: a. so-called permanent coloring which has the function of bringing about a significant change in the natural color and which uses oxidation dyes which penetrate the hair fiber and form the dye by a process of oxidative condensation; b. non-permanent, semi-permanent or direct coloring, which does not implement the oxidative condensation process and resists 4 or 5 shampoos; it consists of dyeing the hair fibers with dyeing compositions containing direct dyes; c. Temporary hair coloring, which results in a change to the natural hair color that lasts from one shampoo to the next and serves to enhance or correct an existing shade. It can also be compared to a "makeup" process.

[0004] Another coloring method involves using pigments. Indeed, applying pigments to the surface of keratin fibers generally produces visible colors on dark hair, as the pigment on the surface masks the fiber's natural color. However, the colors obtained using this method have the disadvantage of being poorly resistant to shampoos and to external agents, such as sebum, perspiration, brushing and / or rubbing.

[0005] Furthermore, when applying the pigment-based coloring composition, the color deposition on the surface of the keratinous fibers may be inhomogeneous, i.e., the colored coating does not cover the fibers uniformly, which may lead to less visibility of the color.

[0006] There is therefore a need for a hair coloring process which has the advantage of obtaining a homogeneous and visible colored coating on the hair, offering good coverage of the original hair color, while forming a coating resistant to shampoos and the various aggressions that hair can undergo such as brushing and / or rubbing.

[0007] Thus, the object of the present invention is to develop a hair coloring process that has the advantage of obtaining a homogeneous and smooth colored and visible coating on the hair, providing good coverage of the original hair color, while forming a coating resistant to shampoos and various aggressions to which hair may be subjected, such as brushing and / or rubbing. DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION

[0008] The present invention therefore relates to a hair coloring process comprising: a. the application to the hair of at least one composition T comprising at least one binding agent selected from amino acids with a hydrocarbon chain bearing one or more alkali groups, dipeptides obtained from said amino acids, salts or cocrystals of said amino acids, and mixtures thereof; then b. the application to the hair of at least one hair coloring composition C comprising: i. at least one (poly)carbodiimide compound; and ii. at least one polymer comprising at least one reactive group selected from carboxylic acids; and iii. at least one coloring agent chosen from pigments, direct dyes, and mixtures thereof.

[0009] Thanks to the hair coloring process according to the invention, a homogeneous colored coating is obtained on the hair, providing good coverage of the original hair color and visible coloring on all hair types and with long-lasting shampoos. Such a colored coating can be resistant to external aggressions to which hair may be subjected, such as blow-drying and perspiration.

[0199] The dispersing agent is used to protect the dispersed particles against their ag globulation or flocculation. This dispersing agent can be a surfactant, an oligomer, a polymer, or a mixture of several of these, possessing one or more functionalities with a strong affinity for the surface of the particles to be dispersed. In particular, they can bind physically or chemically to the surface of the pigments. These dispersants also have at least one functional group compatible with the continuous medium or soluble in it.In particular, esters of 12-hydroxystearic acid and C8 to C20 fatty acids and polyols such as glycerol, diglycerin, such as poly(12-hydroxystearic acid) stearate with a molecular weight of about 750 g / mol, such as that sold under the name Solsperse 21 000 by Avecia, polyglyceryl-2 dipolyhydroxystearate (name CTFA) sold under the reference Dehymyls PGPH by Henkel, or polyhydroxystearic acid such as the product sold under the reference Arlacel P100 by Uniqema, and mixtures thereof, are used.

[0200] As another dispersant used in the compositions of the invention, one may mention quaternary ammonium derivatives of polycondensed fatty acids, such as Solsperse 17,000 sold by Avecia, and polydimethylsiloxane / oxypropylene mixtures such as those sold by Dow Corning under the references DC2-5185, DC2-5225 C.

[0201] The pigments used in the composition can be surface treated with an organic agent.

[0202] Thus, the surface-treated pigments useful in the context of the invention are pigments which have undergone, entirely or partially, a surface treatment of a chemical, electronic, electrochemical, mechanochemical or mechanical nature with an organic agent, such as those described in particular in Cosmetics and Toiletries, February 1990, Vol. 105, pages 53 to 64, before being dispersed in the composition according to the invention. These organic agents may be chosen, for example, from waxes, such as carnauba wax and beeswax; fatty acids, fatty alcohols and their derivatives, such as stearic acid, hydroxystearic acid, stearyl alcohol, hydroxystearyl alcohol, lauric acid and their derivatives; anionic surfactants; lecithins; sodium, potassium, magnesium, iron, titanium, zinc or aluminum salts of fatty acids, such as aluminum stearate or aluminum laurate; metal alkoxides; polyethylene; (meth)acrylic polymers, such as polymethyl methacrylates; polymers and copolymers containing acrylate units; alkanolamines; silicone compounds, such as silicones, including polydimethylsiloxanes; Fluorinated organic compounds, for example perfluoroalkyl ethers; fluorosilicone compounds.

[0203] The surface-treated pigments useful in the composition may also have been treated with a mixture of these compounds and / or may have undergone several surface treatments.

[0204] The surface-treated pigments useful in the context of the present invention can be prepared using surface treatment techniques well known to those skilled in the art, or are commercially available as is.

[0205] Preferably, the surface-treated pigments are covered with an organic layer.

[0206] The organic agent with which the pigments are treated can be deposited on the pigments by solvent evaporation, chemical reaction between surfactant molecules or creation of a covalent bond between the surfactant and the pigments.

[0207] Surface treatment can thus be carried out, for example, by chemical reaction of a surfactant with the surface of the pigments and creation of a covalent bond between the surfactant and the pigments or fillers. This process is described in particular in US patent 4,578,266.

[0208] Preferably, an organic agent bound to the pigments will be used covalently.

[0209] The surface treatment agent may represent from 0.1 to 50% by weight per relative to the total weight of the pigment treated on the surface, preferably from 0.5 to 30% by weight and even more preferably from 1 to 20% by weight of the total weight of the pigment treated on the surface.

[0210] Preferably, the surface treatments of the pigments are chosen from the following treatments: • a PEG-silicone treatment such as the AQ surface treatment marketed by LCW; • a methicone treatment such as the SI surface treatment marketed by LCW; • a dimethicone treatment such as the Covasil 3.05 surface treatment marketed by LCW; • a dimethicone / trimethylsiloxysilicate treatment such as the Covasil 4.05 surface treatment marketed by LCW; • a magnesium myristate treatment such as the MM surface treatment marketed by LCW; • aluminum dimyristate treatment, such as the MI surface treatment marketed by Miyoshi; • a perfluoropolymethylisopropyl ether treatment such as the FHC surface treatment marketed by LCW; • a treatment with isostearyl sebacate such as the HS surface treatment marketed by Miyoshi; • a perfluoroalkyl phosphate treatment such as the PF surface treatment marketed by Daito; • a treatment with acrylate / dimethicone copolymer and per-fluoroalkyl phosphate as a commercially available FSA surface treatment by Daito; • a treatment with polymethylhydrogenosiloxane / perfluoroalkyl phosphate such as the FS01 surface treatment marketed by Daito; • an acrylate / dimethicone copolymer treatment, for example the ASC surface treatment marketed by Daito; • a treatment with isopropyl titanium triisostearate such as the ITT surface treatment marketed by Daito; • an acrylate copolymer treatment such as the APD surface treatment marketed by Daito; • a treatment with perfluoroalkyl phosphate / isopropyl titanium triisostearate such as the PF + ITT surface treatment marketed by Daito.

[0211] According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the dispersing agent is present with organic or inorganic pigments in the form of submicron-sized particles.

[0212] By "submicron" is meant pigments whose particle size has been micronized by micronization process and whose average particle size is less than one micrometer (micron), in particular between 0.1 and 0.9 micron, and preferably between 0.2 and 0.6 micron.

[0213] According to one embodiment, the dispersing agent and the pigment(s) is / are present in quantity (dispersant:pigment), in a weight ratio, between 1:4 and 4:1, in particular between 1.5:3.5 and 3.5:1 or better between 1.75:3 and 3:1.

[0282] The (poly)carbodiimide(s) of the invention are accessible by synthetic processes known to those skilled in the art from commercial products or from reagents synthesizable according to chemical reactions also known to those skilled in the art. Examples include Sciences of Synthesis - Houben - Weyl Methods of Molecular Transformations, 2005, Georg Thiem Verlag Kg, Rudigerstrasse 14, D-70469 Stuttgart, or US patent 4,284,730 or Canadian application CA 2,509,861.

[0283] More specifically, the process for preparing the (poly)carbodiimides of the invention initially uses a diisocyanate reagent (1):

[0284] O=C=N-LrN=C=O (1),

[0285] formula (1) wherein L1 is as defined above which reacts in the presence of a carboimidation catalyst (2) such as those described in US 4,284,730, in particular phosphorus catalysts especially selected from phospholene oxides and phospholene sulfoxides, diaza and oxazaphospholanes, preferably under an inert atmosphere (nitrogen or argon), and in particular in a polar solvent preferably aprotic such as THF, glyme, diglyme, 1,4-dioxane and DMF, at a temperature between room temperature and the reflux of the solvent, preferably around 140 °C; to give rise to the carbodiimide diisocyanate compound (3):

[0286] O=C=N-L1-(N=C=N-L1)nN=C=O (3),

[0287] formula (3) in which L1 and n are as defined above. A benzoyl halide such as benzoyl chloride may be added to deactivate the catalyst.

[0288] To obtain "symmetrical" (poly)carbodiimides, in the second step of the preparation process, compound (3) reacts with 1 molar equivalent (1 eq) of nucleophilic reagent R 1-X 1-H, then 0.5 eq. of HEH reagent with R 1, X 1 and E as defined above, to lead to the "symmetrical" compound according to the invention (4):

[0289] [R1-X1-C(O)-NH-L1-(N=C=N-L1)n-NH-C(O)]2-E (4),

[0290] formula (4) in which R 1, X 1, L i, net E are as defined above. According to a variant for obtaining compound (4) from (3), it is possible to add first 0.5 eq. of reagent HEH, then 1 eq. of reagent R 1-X 1-H.

[0291] To obtain "asymmetric" (poly)carbodiimides, in the second step of the preparation process, compound (3) reacts with 1 molar equivalent (1 eq) of nucleophilic reagent R 1-X 1-H and then 1 eq. of HEH reagent with R 1, X 1 and E as defined above, to give compound (5):

[0292] R1-X1-C(O)-NH-L1-(N=C=N-L1)n-NH-C(O)-EH (5),

[0293] formula (5) in which Rl,Xl,Ll,netE are such as defined above.

[0294] According to one variant for obtaining compound (5) from (3), it is possible first add 1 eq. of reagent R 1-X bH, then 0.5 eq. of reagent HEH.

[0295] In a third step, compound (5) reacts with 1 eq. of compound (6 R2-X2 -C(O)-NH-L1-(N=C=N-L1)ZN=C=O,

[0296] said compound (6) is prepared beforehand from compound (3'):

[0297] O=C=N-L1-(N=C=N-L1)ZN=C=O (3'),

[0298] formula (3') in which L1 and z are as defined above, and react with 1 eq of nucleophilic reagent R2-X2-H with L1, R2, X2, and z as defined above, to give rise to the asymmetric compound (7):

[0299] R1-X1-C(O)-NH-L1-(N=C=N-L1)n-NH-C(O)-EC(O)-NH-L1--(N=C=N-L1)z-NH-C(O) -X2-R2 (7),

[0300] formula (7) in which R 1, X 1, L i, R 2, X2, n, z and E are such as defined above.

[0301] It is also possible to react 1 molar equivalent of compound

[0302] O=C=N-Ll-(N=C=N-Ll)zN=C=O (3') with 1 / w molar equivalent of HEH, then 1 eq. of nucleophilic reagent R 2-X 2-H to lead to compound (8):

[0303] H-[EC(O)-NH-L1-(N=C=N-L1)z]w-NH-C(O)-X2-R2 (8),

[0304] formula (8) in which L 1, R 2, X2, z and E are as defined above, and w is an integer between 1 and 3, more preferably w = L

[0305] This last compound (8) can then react with 1 eq of compound (4'):

[0306] R1-X1-C(O)-NH-L1-(N=C=N-L1)nN=C=O (4'),

[0307] (said compound (4') can be synthesized by reaction of 0.5 eq. of nucleophilic reagent R1-X1-H with 1 equivalent compound (3)), to give rise to the (poly)carbodiimide of the invention (9): R1-X1-C(O)-NH-L1-(N=C=N-L1)n-NH-C(O)-[EC(O)-NH-L1-(N=C=N-L1)Z]W-NHC(O)-X2-R2 (9), formula (9) in which L1, R1, X1, R2, X2, n, z, w, and E are as defined above.

[0308] The (poly)carbodiimide compounds and all reaction intermediates and reagents can be purified by conventional processes known to those skilled in the art, such as extraction with water and an organic solvent immiscible in water, precipitation, centrifugation, filtration and / or chromatography.

[0309] Example 1: Synthesis process of the (poly)carbodiimide compound

[0310] In a 500 mL three-necked flask equipped with a thermometer, a stirrer and a reflux tube, 50 g of 4,4'-dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate and 0.5 g of 4,5-dihydro-3-methyl-l-phenyl-lH-phosphole 1-oxide were introduced with stirring.

[0311] The reaction medium was heated to 140 °C under nitrogen for 4 hours after the reaction by infrared spectroscopy by the absorption of isocyanate functions between 2200 and 2300 cm-1, then cooled to 120 °C.

[0312] A mixture of 5.3 g of polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether and 1.2 g of 1,4-butanediol is introduced into the reaction medium while stirring. The temperature of 120 °C is maintained until the isocyanate functions have completely disappeared, followed by infrared spectroscopy at 2200-2300 cm⁻¹, and then cooling to room temperature.

[0323] The mixture was blended for 3 hours. The reaction mixture was filtered, and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was added to 68 mL of cold methyl tert-butyl ether. The resulting solid residue was dried. 140 mL of ethanesulfonic acid in 200 mL of water were stirred under nitrogen for 2 hours, filtered, and then poured into 700 g of ion-exchange resin that had been previously rinsed with water. 70 g of dipeptide dissolved in 200 mL of water were stirred under nitrogen for 2 hours, filtered, and then poured into ion-exchange resin that had been previously rinsed with water. The filtrates were lyophilized for 48 hours to yield 70 g of ethanesulfonic acid salt and the dipeptide. Its structure was confirmed by HPLC, ion-exchange chromatography, infrared spectroscopy, LC-MS, colorimetric titration, and ¹H NMR (400 MHz). The solution was then allowed to cool to room temperature, and volatiles were removed. The residue was then lyophilized to obtain Sbc-Arg salt as an off-white foam (yield: >95%), which is hygroscopic. Derivatives of sebacic acid and arginine salts in various proportions of 1:1 and 2:1 are synthesized following a similar protocol described above. Synthesis of chlorogenic acid arginine amide (CAA)

[0324] Step 1:

[0325] Acid (3aR,5S,7R,7aR)-7-{[(2E)-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]oxy]-5-hydroxy-2,2-dimethyl-hexahydro-2H-l,3-benzodioxole-5-carboxylic (2) :

[0326] Chlorogenic acid 1 (165.0 g; 0.465 mol; 1 eq) in acetone (1.4 L) was added to dimethoxypropane (1.0 L) and p-toluenesulfonic acid (1.65 g) and the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 3 h. Volatilities were removed by vacuum distillation to obtain compound 2 (150.0 g) as a solid, which was taken for the reaction in the next step.

[0327] Step 2:

[0328] (2S)-2-{ [(3aR,5S,7R,7aR)-7-{ [(2E)-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]oxy}-5-hy ethyl (3) droxy-2,2-dimethyl-hexahydro-2H-l,3-benzodioxol-5-yl]formamido}-5-carbamimida midopentanoate:

[0329] A mixture of compound 2 (80.0 g; 0.202 mol; 1.0 eq) was dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide (1200 mL), to which H-Arg-OEt. 2HC1 (58.36 g; 1.05 eq), BOP reagent ((1H-Benzo[d][l,2,3]triazol-1-I)oxy)tris(dimethylamino)phosphonium (V) hexafluorophosphate (89.34 g; 1.0 eq) followed by di-isopropyl ethylamine (78.325 g; 3.0 eq) were added. The resulting reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 16 h and diluted with water, extracted with ethyl acetate, then the solvent was removed under vacuum and the residue obtained was further purified by silica gel chromatography to obtain compound 3 (58.0 g). Steps 3 and 4

[0331] Compound 3 (25.0 g; 0.043 mol; 1.0 eq) was dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (500 mL), the mixture was cooled to 5 °C, water (250 mL) was added, followed by lithium hydroxide monohydrate (4.53 g; 2.5 eq). The resulting reaction mixture was stirred for 14 h at room temperature. The pH was acidified by stirring aqueous hydrochloric acid for 30 min, and the volatiles were removed under vacuum. The material was then purified by chromatography (silica Cl8 gel) to obtain compound 5 as a solid (6.8 g). Example 3

[0342] Composition A was then mixed with composition B at a ratio of 1:1 to obtain composition C according to the invention. Protocol

[0343] Three different processes were implemented.

[0344] Compositions T1 or T2 were applied to strands of different hair types, respectively: natural hair with 90% gray (BN90) and damaged hair (SA20). Each composition was applied to hair strands at a rate of 0.5 g of composition per gram of strand. The hair was wrapped in cellophane and the treatment was left to act for 1 hour at a temperature of 39 °C. The strands were then rinsed and dried using a hairdryer.

[0345] Composition C was then applied to the strands previously treated with composition T1 or composition T2, at a rate of 0.5 g of composition per gram of hair. The hair strands were then detangled and dried using a hairdryer.

[0346] The processes using compositions T1 or T2, and then composition C, are therefore processes according to the invention. In what follows, they are designated respectively as process 1 and 2.

[0347] According to process 3, neither composition T1 nor composition T2 was applied. Only composition C was applied to strands of different types of natural hair with 90% white hair (BN90) and damaged hair (SA20), at a rate of 0.5 g of composition per gram of hair. The The hair strands were then detangled and dried using a hairdryer.

[0348] The hair strands were then stored at room temperature and 35% humidity for 24 hours.

[0349] Processes 1 to 3 are summarized in Table 4 below:

[0350] [Table 4] Table 4 Process 1 (invention) 2 (invention) 3 (comparison) Application of compositions T1 + C T2 + CC

[0351] The hair strands treated by processes 1 to 3 were then subjected to several repeated shampooings (protocol below) in order to evaluate the longevity of the colouring. Shampooing protocol

[0352] The colored hair strands are combed, moistened under water at 35°C before being passed between the fingers 5 times for 5 seconds. The hair strands are then squeezed dry between two fingers.

[0353] A standard shampoo (Garnier Ultra Doux) is applied evenly to the colored strands at a rate of 0.4 g of standard shampoo per gram of strands, gently massaging the strands of hair along their length (6 passes) for 15 seconds.

[0354] The strands of hair are then placed in a watch glass and left for 1 minute.

[0355] Next, the hair strands are rinsed with water by passing the strand between the fingers (15 passes). The hair strands are then squeezed dry between two fingers before the next shampoo.

[0356] After 5 shampoos, the hair strands are combed and dried with a hairdryer. Results

[0357] The colorimetric measurements were carried out using a KONICA MINOLTA-3600 spectrophotometer (illuminant D65, angle 10°, specular component included) in the CIELab system.

[0358] In this system, L*a*b*, L* represents the lightness of the color, a* indicates the green / red color axis and b* the blue / yellow color axis.

[0359] The longevity of the color is assessed by the difference in AE color between the colored strands before shampooing, and then after 5 shampoos according to the protocol described above. The lower the AE value, the longer the color lasts through shampooing.

[0360] The value of AE is calculated according to the following equation:

[0361] ....... AE =^L -L o + j + (a'-a0*) + (b -bo"J

[0362] In this equation, L*, a* and b* represent the values measured after hair coloring and after undergoing 5 shampoos, and Lo*, a0* and b0* represent the values measured after hair coloring but before the 5 shampoos.

[0363] The results are grouped in Tables 5 and 6 below, respectively for each type of hair tested (BN90 (natural hair) and SA20 (damaged hair)):

[0364] [Table 5] Table 5 Process - Natural Hair Number of Shampoos L* a* b* AE 3 (comparison) 0 35.5 25.1 19.6 - 5 55.8 6.2 13.2 28.5 1 (invention) 0 36.4 25.3 19.6 - 5 45.0 17.6 15.2 12.3 2 (invention) 0 37.2 25.2 19.8 - 5 43.0 15.9 13.8 12.5

[0365] [Table 6] Table 6 Process - Damaged Hair Number of Shampoos L* a* b* AE 1 (invention) 0 40.6 24.9 24.3 5 43.4 24.3 23.8 2.9 2 (invention) 0 39.0 23.6 22.5 5 39.6 22.8 22.8 1.0 3 (comparison) 0 37.8 26.6 23.6 5 43.9 21.7 22.7 7.9

[0366] For each hair type, hair treated with processes 1 and 2 according to the invention has a lower AE value than hair treated with comparative process 3.

[0367] Thus, the colored hair obtained with the process according to the invention has improved resistance to shampooing.
