Description

Title of the invention: Keratin Fiber Dyeing / Bleaching Composition FIELD OF INVENTION

[0001] This disclosure relates, in general, to personal care products and, more particularly, to compositions and processes for dyeing / lightening keratin fibers. CONTEXT OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The permanent dyeing of keratin fibers, such as human hair, by oxidation dyeing is a known practice widely used by consumers. This dyeing technique involves applying a composition containing dye precursors, such as oxidation bases and couplers, to the keratin fibers. These dye precursors are colorless or weakly colored compounds. When combined with an oxidizing agent, they give rise, through a process of oxidative condensation, to colored compounds.

[0003] Oxidative dyeing is generally carried out at an alkaline pH, which produces dye and, at the same time, lightens the keratin fiber. Lightening the fiber has the advantageous effect of enhancing the color, that is, making it more visible in the case of naturally pigmented hair. In the case of depigmented hair, it helps to provide a unified color before the dyeing process.

[0004] Consumers generally prefer formulas that provide a uniform and deep color with a long-lasting effect. Consumers also increasingly favor formulas that include more natural or naturally derived ingredients, with fewer petrochemical-derived compounds, which are more environmentally friendly.

[0005] Thus, there is a need for a dyeing and / or lightening composition for keratin fibers that exhibits superior performance with regard to, in particular, the dyeing and / or lightening effect, color absorption and intensity, and durability, as well as environmentally friendly and / or natural ingredients. [0285] Evaluation of color intensity and absorption

[0286] Protocol: Each of the compositions Al to A5, and A'1 and A'5 (according to the invention) and Cl to C5 (comparatives) was mixed independently with the oxidizing composition B at a weight ratio of 1:1. Each of the mixtures was applied to strands of hair containing 90% natural white hair in a proportion of 5 g of mixture for 1 g of hair.

[0287] After a 30-minute application time on a heated plate at 27°C, the hair was rinsed, washed and dried.

[0288] Results: Hair colouring was evaluated in the L*a*b* system, using a Konica Minolta CM-3600A spectrocolorimeter (illuminant D65, angle 10°, specular component included) in the CIELab system.

[0289] In this system, L* represents lightness. The smaller the value of L*, the darker and more intense the resulting color. Chromaticity is measured by the values a* and b*, with a* representing the red / green axis and b* the yellow / blue axis. ALI represents the difference between the L* values of the compositions Al at A5 and Cl at C5, respectively, and AL2 re presents the difference between the L* values of compositions A'1 to A'5 and Cl to C5, respectively.

[0290] The results for the compositions Al to A5, A'1 to A'5 and Cl to C5 are shown in Table 3 below:

[0291] [Tables3] Compositions L* ALI AL2 Al 36.93 2.29 A'1 35.68 Cl 39.22 A2 23.33 2.43 A'2 23.08 C2 25.76 A3 28.62 4.17 A'3 29.18 C3 32.79 A4 33.69 A'4 34.55 4.32 C4 38.01 A5 36.23 A'5 36.67 3.20 C5 39.43

[0292] Compositions Al to A5 (according to the invention) and A'1 to A'5 (according to the invention) had a lower L* value, with significant AL values (AL >2) and therefore exhibited better color intensity, compared to the comparative compositions Cl to C5. In particular, compositions Al to A5 and A'1 to A'5 encompassed a weight ratio between the total amount of fatty compound(s) and the total amount of non-oxyalkylated surfactant(s) of at least 3:1. Compositions Al to A5 had a weight ratio between the total amount of fatty compound(s) and the total amount of non-oxyalkylated surfactant(s) of 4:1.Compositions A'1 to A'5 had a weight ratio of 6:1 between the total amount of fatty compound(s) and the total amount of non-oxyalkylated surfactant(s), while comparative compositions Cl to C5 comprised a weight ratio of 2.7:1 between the total amount of fatty compound(s) and the total amount of non-oxyalkylated surfactant(s). Therefore, it was possible. It should be observed that only when the said ingredients of said compositions were present in the required weight ratio range of at least 3:1 did they work in synergy to provide the desired beneficial effects. BENEFITS OF THIS DISCLOSURE

[0293] The composition of this disclosure offers the combined advantages of superior color performance and environmental friendliness. In particular, the composition demonstrates more intense color with long-lasting color absorption. It is environmentally friendly because it incorporates natural and / or naturally derived ingredients, resulting in a lower carbon footprint and thus reducing its negative impact on the environment. Furthermore, the composition also results in more revitalized and nourished hair.
