Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Modular unit intended to form at least a portion of a facade of a building Technical field
[0001] The invention relates to the technical field of modular buildings and in particular modular units intended to form at least a portion of a building. State of the art
[0002] Current construction projects no longer meet today's challenges and expectations and the problems encountered. The scarcity of resources leads to an increase in the price of materials. Customer expectations are leading builders to design increasingly complex buildings. Faced with these constraints, more and more construction sites are taking much longer than before. In order to limit construction times, it is increasingly common to plan part of the construction off-site, in order to speed up construction once on site. To enable buildings to meet climate challenges, it is necessary to reduce the quantity of concrete in our construction.
[0003] Furthermore, none of the current construction methods are suitable for scaling with family life. Indeed, a single person or a couple without children does not have the same needs in terms of surface area as a couple with one or more children. Therefore, when the family evolves, it is often necessary to change accommodation to obtain additional living rooms to accommodate the new members of the family. In some cases it is possible to plan an extension of the initial building, but this extension involves a lot of work which can generate significant additional costs, in particular by planning an opening of one of the load-bearing walls and the construction on site of the new room(s).
[0004] In existing buildings, and in particular some old buildings, there is poor insulation. To improve this insulation, it is known to add insulation from the inside, but its thickness is limited since the internal surface of the building is lost to this insulation. It is also known to add insulation from the outside of the building, but this involves expensive work.
[0005] With climate change, one of the priorities in the building sector is to be able to offer housing whose facades provide thermal and acoustic comfort while giving sufficient rigidity to the building structure and limiting thermal bridges. For this, it is known to manufacture houses from wood or with metal structures. However, a wooden structure does not have not the resistance of a metal structure and a metal structure leads to the presence of numerous thermal bridges.
[0006] The invention therefore falls within this context and seeks to resolve all of the aforementioned drawbacks. Thus, the invention seeks to propose a modular construction that can be prefabricated in a factory and combines a multi-material structure with both energy performance and a strong structure, and which is simple to implement. Presentation of the invention.
[0007] The subject of the invention is a modular unit intended to form at least a portion of a facade of a building and adapted to be mounted on a structure, said unit comprising at least four metal support uprights forming a volume, each upright comprising a first end; an insulating layer adapted to fill the volume and comprising at least a first face and a second opposite face; two moisture protection layers fixed directly on said uprights so that a first moisture protection layer is positioned on the first face of the insulating layer and a second moisture protection layer is positioned on the second face of the insulating layer. The invention is remarkable in that the first end of at least two uprights comprises at least one first reversible member for attachment to the structure.
[0008] The structure may comprise posts and beams arranged to form a framework of the building. The structure is intended to receive at least one modular unit. The structure may be made of wood and / or metal and / or concrete.
[0009] The modular unit may comprise four metal support uprights. In another embodiment, the modular unit may comprise six or even eight metal uprights. The metal support uprights may form a volume. The volume may be adapted to be filled with an insulating layer. The insulating layer may comprise cellulose wadding, wood wool, hemp, straw or even glass wool. The insulating layer may comprise materials that may be natural and / or recyclable. The insulating layer may be inserted into the volume by insufflation. The insulating layer may provide thermal and acoustic insulation for the building. In another embodiment, the insulating layer may be inserted into the volume by projection. The modular unit may have dimensions of between 50 cm and 300 cm wide, in particular between 200 cm and 250 cm wide. The thickness of the modular unit can be between 30 cm and 80 cm. Thus the thickness of the insulating layer can be between 40 cm and 70 cm. When the modular unit is positioned on the structure, the first face of the volume can be an interior face. When the modular unit is positioned on the structure, the second face of the volume can be an exterior face.
[0010] Using metal uprights to form the structure of the modular unit can make it easy to install openings such as windows or bay windows.
[0011] The first moisture protection layer may comprise a vapor barrier. The second moisture protection layer may comprise a rain barrier.
[0012] When the modular unit is positioned on the structure, the first end of each upright may be an upper end.
[0013] At least two metal uprights may comprise a first reversible member for attachment to the structure. The first reversible attachment member may be mounted on the first end of each metal support upright. In one embodiment, the modular unit may comprise two first reversible members. In another embodiment, the modular unit may comprise three or even four first reversible members.
[0014] The modular unit may be a panel adapted to form a portion of a ground floor facade. The modular unit may be a panel adapted to form a portion of a one-story facade.
[0015] The modular unit can thus be standardized, making it possible to limit the manufacturing costs of a building but also to facilitate and accelerate the construction of a building. The fact that the modular unit is standardized makes it possible to easily upgrade a building to add new rooms, for example.
[0016] The modular unit can thus be multi-material.
[0017] Advantageously, the modular unit comprises a finishing layer arranged to cover the first moisture protection layer.
[0018] The finishing layer may, for example, comprise a support on which wallpaper or paint is applied. In another embodiment, the finishing layer may comprise a support on which wooden cladding or even tiles are applied.
[0019] Advantageously, the modular unit comprises a facing layer arranged to cover the second moisture protection layer.
[0020] The facing layer may comprise exterior wooden cladding. In another embodiment, the facing layer may comprise a trellis adapted to receive plants to form a green wall. In a different embodiment, the facing layer may comprise a coating of the plaster or coating type.
[0021] Thus on a modular unit installed on a wall, this is composed from the inside to the outside by the finishing layer, the first layer of protection against humidity, the insulating layer, the second layer of protection against humidity and the facing layer.
[0022] In another embodiment, a ventilated air gap may be installed between the second moisture barrier layer and the facing layer.
[0023] Advantageously, the first attachment member is a tube adapted to cooperate with a fixing means and with the structure.
[0024] In one embodiment, the tube may be a hollow tube. In another embodiment, the tube may be a solid tube. The tube may have a first end attached to the metal post and a second free end that may include a threaded rod. In one embodiment, the tube may be attached to the metal post by welding. In another embodiment, the tube may be attached to the metal post by the cooperation of a threaded portion of the tube and a nut.
[0025] The fixing means may comprise a nut adapted to cooperate with the threaded rod. Thus the cooperation of the tube and the fixing means may allow the attachment member to be reversible.
[0026] The tube may be adapted to cooperate with the structure. In one embodiment, the structure may comprise a bore adapted to be passed through by at least a portion of the tube.
[0027] When a building is to be enlarged, it may be possible to detach the fixing means and the tube to detach the modular unit and the structure so as to remove the modular unit. Once the building has been enlarged, it is possible to reposition the modular unit on the new structure and reattach the tube and the fixing means.
[0028] Advantageously, at least two uprights comprise a second end comprising a second reversible attachment member.
[0029] At least two uprights may comprise a second member for attachment to the structure. The second attachment member may be mounted on the second end of each upright. In one embodiment, the modular unit may comprise two second reversible members. In another embodiment, the modular unit may comprise three or even four second reversible members.
[0030] In one embodiment, the second reversible attachment members may advantageously be mounted on uprights different from the uprights comprising the first attachment members. The modular unit may comprise pairs of uprights, namely an upright positioned on the facing layer side and an upright positioned on the finishing layer side. Advantageously, the uprights positioned on the facing layer side may comprise the first attachment members and the uprights positioned on the finishing layer side may comprise the second attachment members.
[0031] In another embodiment, the first hooking members and the second hooking members may be mounted on the same upright.
[0032] Advantageously, the second reversible attachment member comprises a body from which a jaw extends.
[0033] The body can extend into the volume so that the jaw can be positioned outside said volume; on the side of the finishing layer and that one end of the body, opposite the jaw can be mounted on a post positioned on the side of the facing layer.
[0034] The jaw may be adapted to cooperate with a rod of the structure. The jaw may surround said rod of the structure. Thus, when the modular unit is positioned on the structure, it becomes difficult to pull on said unit so as to remove it from its position. If it is desired to detach the modular unit from the structure, it may be necessary to lift it so as to detach the jaw from said rod.
[0035] The jaw may cooperate with the structure so as to oppose a recall of the modular unit and hold it in place on the structure.
[0036] Advantageously, the first end of the uprights is merged with a first edge of said unit and the second end of the uprights is merged with a second edge of said unit, the first and second edges being opposite with respect to said unit.
[0037] Advantageously, the power supply is integrated into the volume.
[0038] In one embodiment, the power supply may be integrated into the volume before the insulating layer is blown into the volume. In another embodiment, the insulating layer may be blown into the volume and the power supply may be integrated afterwards or once the modular unit is positioned on the structure.
[0039] In a particular embodiment, the water supply can be integrated into the volume.
[0040] A modular unit can be entirely prefabricated in the factory and arrive ready to install on the structure already in place on the site. The modular unit can be adapted to arrive on site with the finishing and facing layers finalized and once the modular unit is in place there is no decoration work to be carried out.
[0041] Another aspect of the invention relates to a modular assembly comprising a first modular unit forming a first facade panel as described above and a second modular unit forming a second facade panel as described above, said first and second facade panels being arranged so that at least one of their respective edges forms a junction.
[0042] Each of the first and second facade panels may comprise at least one edge. Advantageously, each facade panel may comprise four edges.
[0043] In one embodiment, the second and first facade panels may be positioned one above the other to form the modular assembly. In a In another embodiment, the first and second facade panels may be positioned next to each other to form the modular assembly. In either embodiment, a modular assembly may comprise two adjacent panels. One edge of the first panel may form a junction with one edge of the second panel.
[0044] Each of the edges can include OSB panels, which stands for “oriented strand board” in English.
[0045] The modular assembly can be adapted to be mounted on the structure.
[0046] Advantageously, the junction is formed by the first edge called the upper edge of the first panel and the second edge called the lower edge of the second panel.
[0047] When the modular assembly is mounted on the structure, each of the first and second panels may comprise a first edge forming an upper edge and a second edge forming a lower edge, said first edge and said second edge being able to be opposite with respect to said panel. Each of the first and second panels may comprise a third and a fourth edge, opposite with respect to said panel. The third and the fourth edge may connect the first and the second edge together.
[0048] In a particular embodiment, the modular unit comprises a third or fourth truncated edge forming an angle of 45°. The truncated edge can be used to make the junction between two modular assemblies forming an angle of approximately 90° between them.
[0049] In an advantageous embodiment, when the modular assembly is positioned on the structure, the second panel can be mounted above the first panel so that said second panel can form a facade of a floor and said first panel can form a facade of a ground floor. Thus, in this embodiment, when the first panel and the second panel form a modular assembly, the first edge of the first panel and the second edge of the second panel can cooperate together to form a junction.
[0050] Advantageously, the upper edge of the first panel comprises a mortise profile.
[0051] Advantageously, the lower edge of the second panel comprises a tenon profile.
[0052] The first edge of the first panel and the second edge of the second panel may form a mortise and tenon joint. The use of a mortise and tenon joint may make it possible to solidify the modular assembly.
[0053] A different aspect of the invention relates to a wall comprising a structure and at least one assembly as described above.
[0054] The fact of using modular blocks, that is to say sets which can be The alternative to disassembling the structure can allow for the creation of a modular building. Indeed, to enlarge a building, it is therefore possible to remove the assembly, enlarge the supporting structure and install both the old modular assemblies and new modular assemblies to complete and form the new external walls.
[0055] Using modular units to form such a wall can allow for the standardization of design and therefore manufacturing, which can allow for faster construction, easier implementation and, above all, to limit costs. This also allows for stock control since each module is manufactured to the necessary dimensions.
[0056] Each modular unit may comprise both wood and metal which can cooperate together to avoid thermal bridges compared to an all-metal structure, but also create a rigid structure. A thermal bridge is a point or linear area which, in the building envelope, can present a variation in thermal resistance where the insulating barrier is broken. It is the fact of using wood combined with metal which can make it possible to limit or even completely eliminate these thermal bridges. In addition, such a wall can make it possible to optimize the material compared to an all-wood solution. When the modular unit is mounted on the structure, it may be possible to add sealing joints well known to those skilled in the art. The sealing joints can be cut if the modular unit needs to be dismantled, for example to create an extension of the building.Using both wood and metal can help reduce the weight of the structure.
[0057] The wall can be a wall for different types of buildings, for example residential, offices, businesses. This type of wall can be used for new buildings or for renovation. In an example of renovation, to insulate an old building, it may then be possible to destroy the existing exterior walls, install the structure and fix one or more modular units. The use of this type of wall can thus improve the insulation of an old building in a few days. Brief description of the figures.

[0066] [Fig.l] schematically shows an interior perspective view of a wall comprising several modular units according to one embodiment. The modular unit is also described in connection with [Fig.2] to [Fig.6].
[0067] The modular unit 100 is intended to form at least a portion of a facade of a building. The modular unit 100 is adapted to be mounted on a structure 11. The structure 11 comprises posts and / or beams arranged to form a framework of a building. The structure 11 is intended to receive at least one modular unit 100. The structure 11 is in particular adapted to receive a 1 comprising a plurality of modular assemblies 10. The structure 11 is made of metal and / or concrete.
[0068] The modular unit 100 is a panel suitable for forming a portion of a ground floor facade. The modular unit 100 is also a panel suitable for forming a portion of a one-story facade. The modular unit 100 has a width between 200 cm and 250 cm. The modular unit 100 has a thickness between 30 cm and 80 cm.
[0069] The modular unit 100 comprises four edges 100a, 100b, 100c, 100d. The first edge 100a forms an upper edge, the second edge 100b forms a lower edge, said first edge 100a and said second edge 100b are opposite with respect to the modular unit 100. The modular unit 100 comprises a third 100c and a fourth edge 100d, opposite with respect to the modular unit 100. The third 100c and the fourth edge 100d connect the first 100a and the second edge 100b to each other.
[0070] The modular unit 100 comprises at least four metal support uprights 100.1. The four metal uprights 100.1 form a volume 100.10.
[0071] Each upright 100.1 has a first end 100.11 and a second end 100.12. When the modular unit 100 is positioned on the structure 11, the first end 100.11 of each upright 100.1 is an upper end and the second end 100.12 is a lower end.
[0072] The modular unit 100 comprises pairs of uprights 100.1, namely an upright 100.1 positioned on the interior side of the building and an upright 100.1 positioned on the exterior side of the building. The uprights 100.1 of each modular unit 100 positioned on the interior side of the building, comprise a first reversible attachment member 100.110 to the structure 11. The uprights 100.1 of the modular units 100 adapted to form a facade of a ground floor which are positioned on the exterior side of the building, comprise a second reversible attachment member.
[0073] The first attachment member 100.110 is a tube adapted to cooperate with a fixing means 100.111. The first attachment member 100.110 is adapted to cooperate with the structure 11. The tube 100.110 is a hollow tube. The tube 100.110 has a first end fixed to the upright 100.1. The tube 100.110 has a second free end comprising a threaded rod.
[0074] The fixing means 100.111 comprises a nut adapted to cooperate with the threaded rod of the tube 100.110. It is the cooperation of the tube 100.110 and the fixing means 100.111 which allows the first attachment member to be reversible.
[0075] When it is desired to enlarge a building, it is possible to dissociate the fixing means 100.111 and the tube 100.110 to dissociate the modular unit 100 and the structure 11 so as to remove the modular unit 100. Once the building has been enlarged, the modular unit 100 is repositioned on the new structure 11 and the tube 100.110 and the fixing means 100.111 are reassociated.
[0076] At least two uprights 100.1 of the modular unit 100 adapted to form a ground floor facade comprise a second attachment member 100.120 to the structure 11. The second attachment member 100.120 is mounted on the second end 100.12 of each upright 100.1.
[0077] The second reversible attachment members 100.120 are to be mounted on uprights 100.1 different from the uprights 100.1 comprising the first attachment members 100.110.
[0078] The second reversible attachment member 100.120 comprises a body 100.120a from which a jaw 100.120b extends. The body 100.120a extends into the volume 100.10 so that the jaw 100.120b is positioned outside said volume 100.10. One end of the body 100.120a, opposite the jaw 100.120b, is mounted on an upright 100.1 positioned on the outside of the building.
[0079] The jaw 100.120b is adapted to cooperate with a rod of the structure 11. The jaw 100.120b surrounds said rod of the structure 11. Thus, if one wishes to dissociate the modular unit 100 from the structure 11, it is necessary to lift said modular unit 100 so as to dissociate the jaw 100.120b from said rod.
[0080] The jaw 100.120b cooperates with the structure 11 so as to oppose a return of the modular unit 100 and hold it in place on the structure 11.
[0081] The volume 100.10 comprises an insulating layer 100.2 adapted to fill said volume 100.10. The insulating layer 100.2 comprises at least a first face and a second opposite face. The insulating layer 100.2 comprises cellulose wadding. The insulating layer 100.2 is inserted into the volume by insufflation. The thickness of the insulating layer 100.2 is between 40 cm and 70 cm. When the modular unit 100 is positioned on the structure 11, the first face of the volume 100.10 is an interior face. When the modular unit 100 is positioned on the structure 11, the second face of the volume 100.10 is an exterior face.
[0082] The power supply is integrated into the volume 100.10 before the insulating layer 100.2 is blown into said volume 100.10.
[0083] The modular unit 100 comprises two moisture protection layers 100.3; 100.4 fixed directly on said uprights 100.1 so that a first moisture protection layer 100.3 is positioned on the first face of the insulating layer 100.2 and a second moisture protection layer 100.4 is positioned on the second face of the insulating layer 100.2.
[0084] The first moisture protection layer 100.3 comprises a vapor barrier. The second moisture protection layer 100.4 comprises a rain barrier.
[0085] The modular unit 100 comprises a finishing layer 100.5 arranged to cover the first moisture protection layer 100.3.
[0086] The modular unit 100 comprises a facing layer 100.6 arranged to cover the second moisture protection layer 100.4.
[0087] The modular unit 100, once installed on the structure 11, is composed from the inside to the outside by the finishing layer 100.5, the first moisture protection layer 100.3, the insulating layer 100.2, the second moisture protection layer 100.4, a ventilated air gap and the facing layer 100.6.
[0088] Two modular units 100 form a modular assembly 10 comprising a first modular unit 100 forming a first facade panel 100 and a second modular unit 100 forming a second facade panel 100. The modular assembly 10 is adapted to be mounted on the structure 11.
[0089] The upper edge 100a of the first panel 100 comprises a mortise profile. The lower edge 100b of the second panel 100 comprises a tenon profile. The first edge 100a of the first panel 100 and the second edge 100b of the second panel 100 form a mortise-tenon junction to solidify the modular assembly 10.
[0090] The first 100 and second facade panels 100 are arranged so that at least one of their respective edges 100a, 100b forms a junction. The junction is formed by the upper edge 100a of the first panel 100 and the lower edge 100b of the second panel 100.
[0091] The second 100 and the first facade panel 100 are positioned one above the other to form the modular assembly 10.
[0092] In one embodiment, the modular unit 100 comprises a third 100c or a fourth truncated edge 100d forming an angle of 45°. The truncated edge 100c, 100d makes it possible to make the junction between two modular assemblies 10 forming between them an angle of approximately 90°.
[0093] A wall 1 comprises a structure 11 and at least one modular assembly 10.
[0094] The foregoing description clearly explains how the invention makes it possible to achieve the objectives it has set itself, namely to propose a modular construction which can be prefabricated in a factory and which combines a multi-material structure comprising both energy performance and a resistant structure and the implementation of which is simple, by proposing a modular unit intended to form at least a portion of a facade of a building and adapted to be mounted on a structure, said unit comprising at least four metal support uprights forming a volume, each upright comprising a first end; an insulating layer adapted to fill the volume and comprising at least a first face and a second opposite face;two moisture protection layers fixed directly onto said uprights so that a first moisture protection layer is positioned on the first face of the insulating layer and a second moisture protection layer is positioned on the second face of the insulating layer and remarkable in that the first end of at least two uprights comprises at least one first reversible member for attachment to the structure.;
