Abstract
A method is implemented in a vehicle comprising a first internal combustion engine operating at a first speed to provide a first torque via a coupling device, a second electric engine operating at a second speed to provide a second torque, and a gearbox comprising a primary shaft receiving the first and second torques. This method includes a step (10-30) in which, when a first torque is required for the primary shaft while it is only receiving the second torque, the first engine is operated until its first speed is higher than a third operating speed of the primary shaft, then the slip level of the coupling device is controlled to obtain a difference between the first and third speeds below a threshold, and then this slip level is decreased so that the required first torque is supplied to the primary shaft.
